De invloed van Big Tech - de grote technologiebedrijven - wordt steeds groter. Maar wie zijn de denkers achter die macht, en wat zijn hun - soms gevaarlijke - denkbeelden? Wat willen ze met de wereld… en met ons? Filosoof Haroon Sheikh kan dit als geen ander duiden. Hij studeerde in Leiden en Oxford, is bijzonder hoogleraar aan de VU in Amsterdam en senior wetenschapper bij de Wetenschappelijke Raad voor het Regeringsbeleid. Sheikh denkt veel na over de invloed van technologie - en dat gaat diep. Want het wereldbeeld van Big Tech vertoont soms bijna religieuze trekken: met ideeën over verlossing, esoterische geheimen en zelfs onsterfelijkheid. David Boogerd spreekt Haroon Sheikh uiteraard samen met vaste gast theoloog Stefan Paas, hoogleraar aan de VU in Amsterdam en de Theologische Universiteit Utrecht. Zijn boek had een jaar geleden moeten verschijnen, maar toen kreeg hij een hartstilstand. En vier maanden geleden volgden er nóg twee. Maar hij overleefde het, gelukkig, en is bij ons te gast: filosoof Jurriën Hamer. Het boek heet: Wat vrijheid van je vraagt – Filosofie voor een bloedserieuze tijd. Jurriën kijkt als filosoof naar onze samenleving en ziet een cultuur van vrijblijvendheid die alomtegenwoordig is, van rechts tot links.  Rechten kennen we inmiddels wel, zegt hij. Maar plichten? Die zijn we vergeten. Volgens Hamer hebben we het liberalisme hoogstens voor de helft gerealiseerd. Daarom pleit hij voor iets opvallends: een strenger liberalisme. Wat bedoelt hij daarmee? En hoe relevant is dat, nu er misschien wel het meest liberale kabinet ooit is aangetreden? In de media wordt Jurriën soms een seculiere dominee genoemd. Maar is hij dat wel? Of staat zijn werk eigenlijk bol van christelijke thematiek? Het leidt tot een interessant gesprek en bij vlagen pittige discussie. Por lo tanto, desencadena en el organismo comportamientos rápidos y eficaces para la supervivencia.Para cada individuo, hay distintos estímulos que encienden esa señal, probablemente, trayendo a la luz un yo sensible a la crítica, necesitado o herido.Ciertamente, hay personas injustas y malintencionadas. Pero también existen acciones malinterpretadas y existen otras respuestas posibles, además de alimentar la ira.¿Qué hacer con la ira? Nuestras reacciones comunes cuando alguien ha frustrado nuestras expectativas, ha atacado nuestro sentido de valor o nos ha hecho perder el control son explotar, sublimar o negar la ira, hasta enfermar o vengarse.Explotar oscurece la percepción del hecho que desencadenó la ira y compromete la capacidad para lidiar con ella, desperdiciando energía, no generando cambios en las relaciones y sirviendo tan solo para un alivio momentáneo del cual podemos arrepentirnos después.Sublimar, negar y acumular la ira enferma. Y vengarse, aunque legítimo, es, al mismo tiempo, una declaración de debilidad.Hay otras maneras de lidiar con la ira. Vuélvete hacia ti y tus motivaciones al sentirla y experimenta otras respuestas. Asumir lo que sientes es mostrar que eres transparente y honesta. Pero saber lidiar con tus sentimientos asertivamente muestra que eres madura, que tienes amor por ti misma y por tu semejante. Confrontar al otro con franqueza acerca de su posible comportamiento falto de amor o intrusivo es también otra buena actitud. Muchos huyen de la confrontación hasta precipitarse en una decisión nada constructiva.Sentir ira no es pecado; pero alimentarla hasta envenenar todas nuestras actitudes, sí. Por eso, Pablo dice que resolvamos la cuestión ese mismo día. Eso es nuestra responsabilidad ante Dios y es una actitud sana. No dejes que el sol se ponga sobre tu ira. Toma la iniciativa de identificar exactamente lo que sucedió -si hay un yo lastimado, si hay un ofensor que necesita perdón-, y encuentra la cura.
