Misschien wel een van onze favoriete afleveringen van het jaar. Hoe betrouwbaar zijn de historische bronnen over Jezus - en dan met name de evangeliën? Geurt Henk van Kooten doet daar baanbrekend onderzoek naar. De vorige keer dat we hem spraken (https://www.nporadio1.nl/podcasts/de-ongelooflijke-podcast/105358/187-wat-maakt-jezus-uniek-deze-topwetenschapper-deed-een-ontdekking-over-jezus-dit-is-een-gamechanger-met-geurt-henk-van-kooten-en-stefan-paas), hadden we zelfs een heuze scoop (https://www.trouw.nl/religie-filosofie/deze-theoloog-weet-het-zeker-het-johannes-evangelie-is-niet-het-jongste-maar-het-oudste-van-de-vier-evangelien~bfbdc0d1/) (en dat gebeurt niet vaak rondom Jezus). Van Kooten is hoogleraar in Cambridge, op wat ook wel de 'Real Madrid van de leerstoelen' wordt genoemd, een prestigieuze positie. Met een belangrijk onderzoeksveld, zeker zo vlak voor Kerst. Want alles rondom Jezus is historisch onderzocht. Zelfs de beroemde Kerstster van Bethlehem. Op basis daarvan denkt Geurt Henk zelfs te kunnen bepalen wat de meest waarschijnlijke geboortedatum van Jezus is. Zet je detectivehoed op, want in deze aflevering gaan we ruim anderhalf uur speuren door de bronnen over Jezus. Hoe sterk zijn de evangeliën als historische bronnen? Wie waren de schrijvers, en waren dat ooggetuigen? En misschien wel de belangrijkste vraag: wat is eigenlijk dat evangelie - dat ‘goede nieuws' - van Kerst? David Boogerd spreekt Geurt Henk van Kooten uiteraard samen met vaste gast theoloog Stefan Paas, hoogleraar aan de VU in Amsterdam en de Theologische Universiteit Utrecht.

Et si nous vivions un moment de "fatigue démocratique" ? Vu la façon dont plusieurs démocraties occidentales se jettent "à corps perdu dans des modèles alternatifs" - ceux que proposent Trump, Giorgia Meloni ou Viktor Orban - il y a de quoi se demander si nous avons encore conscience des "vertus" de la république, et de ce qu'elle procure aux citoyens, comme l'équilibre des pouvoirs ou les libertés publiques. 'Nederland is een therapiecultuur geworden', stelt religiewetenschapper Katie Vlaardingerbroek in haar nieuwe boek Nederland Therapieland. Het probleem? Al die therapie maakt ons niet per se beter, maar soms juist zieker. Katie spreekt niet alleen als onderzoeker, maar ook uit ervaring: ze zat zelf lang in de GGZ vanwege psychische klachten. Die combinatie levert een uniek perspectief op. Ze ziet dat therapie niet meer slechts een behandelvorm is, maar een complete cultuur. Een cultuur die lijkt op religie. Een staatsreligie zelfs. L'objectif : accueillir 50 000 jeunes d'ici 2035. Comme vous vous en doutez, ça a fait réagir. Vu qu'en fait, c'est seulement depuis 1997 que le service militaire est suspendu. Et comme souvent en France, ça relance un vieux débat.
