We’re back for International Boys Day, and the chaos is very on brand. First up, a mum goes viral for making her son do 100 Dru Hill jumps as punishment—yes, actual dance punishment. Trump dropped into Qatar and made some weirdly passionate comments about marble and camels (as you do). In London, we got emotional over Margaret, who visits the Tube daily just to hear her late husband's voice on the "Mind the Gap" announcement. And finally, we unpack the wild story of a woman who was fired for being “too hot”—and yes, the Supreme Court backed it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For the Glory KC is back with the 129th episode of the show!Sporting Kansas City played a wild, eight goal thriller over the weekend against the San Jose Earthquakes. We celebrated the double KC win too hard and had to push podcast recording until Monday and it got weird. Welcome to For the Glory KC After Dark III.When we stayed on topic, we moved through all the delightful, exciting goals from Daniel Salloi, Manu Garcia, Logan Ndenbe and Erik Thommy. Plus, so many assists, including a goalkeeper assist by John Pulskamp (and a fun story from Salloi about it).But we definitely got off topic talking Sporting KC trialist Dru Yearwood, which led into Dru Hill, the "Thong Song" and Dejan Joveljic's inappropriate gesture. We also have to discuss the officiating that could have marred the results by Joe Dickerson. He was inconsistent and missed a foul that could have really injured Ndenbe. Chicho Arango's nonsense went basically unpunished, but at least Jansen Miller continued his "villain" role. The KC Current broke the record for the most wins in a row in NWSL history. It was so dominant it was almost a little boring (though we'll take boring!) with the thorough victory over the Houston Dash. The team was depleted and still looked pretty unstoppable. And the KC Current II are back and participating in TST.In the Digital Crawl, we touch on a few more topics, including:US Open Cupset UpdateCam Duke on the moveCeCe Kizer tooHere is a rundown of topics (and approximate start times):Sporting KC win a Wild 8-goal Thriller - 3:18SKC Round-up - 37:33KC Current break the Wins Record - 51:41Digital Crawl - 1:05:20Upcoming GamesSKC II vs. Tacoma Defiance, Wed. Salt-N-Pepa, Usher, Prince, Diana Ross, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, An industry veteran who currently serves as one of the directors for the Hip Hop Museum, Green outlines his career spanning five decades. This includes producing concerts and/or representing as a longtime agent for artists such as Usher, Prince, Diana Ross, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, the Backstreet Boys - among othersThen there's the fine line between the grind in the streets and the hustle in the industry.  Mark battled with con artists, drug dealers and pimps and people trying to show off their local high profile at the expense of his artists. “I didn't get too caught up in that because I had to keep one eye on the money!” He stayed focused, even when distractions of every kind showed up on the road–drugs, groupies, out-of-control artists–and he kept many ships afloat when everything should have drowned.  But again, the show must go on. Mark's stellar reputation put him in high demand and working with Melba and soon Freddie Jackson, Dru Hill, Al B Sure, Grandmaster Flash, a young Usher and music pioneer Prince solidified his reputation in the industry. He would join Associated Booking Corp, where his talent for spotting rising stars and his love for hip-hop led to the signing of such game-changing artists as Salt-N-Pepa, Roxanne Shante, Kid & Play, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.  He would go on to become Director of Marketing at EMI/Capitol Records and expanded again, this time into radio, promotions, and into the fields of jazz and rap, earning accolades in promotions and even producing, writing, and publishing successful tracks like "Remember the First Time" for singer Eric Gable and "Midnight Hour" for rapper Lady Spice MC.  Green moved as the industry moved and found himself in independent marketing and promotions consulting and secured a record deal with Light Year/Warner Brothers for his independent label, with singer/songwriter and R&B legend Teena Marie as his first artist. A year later, working with  Northstar Distribution, Green became General Manager, distributing music for Prince's independent label, where the purple one signed R&B music siren Chaka Khan and the soul-stirrer and crooner Larry Graham  on the artist's NPG Records. Soon, shaping his own destiny, Green launched Celebrity Talent Agency, representing a wide array of artists, where he's secured talents for tours, festivals and commercials nationally and globally.  Ever-expanding his vision, Green also serves as Associate Director/General Manager of Lehman Performing Arts Center, Chairman of Artist Relations for The Hip-Hop Museum (THHM), and maintains ownership of Celebrity Talent Agency.  The Show Must Go On! His riveting story of the industry's ups and downs and his own personal experiences will inspire anybody who believes in themselves to believe that they can live their wildest dreams!© 2025 Building Abundant Success!!2025 All Rights ReservedHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASAmazon ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy:  https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

As we come to a conclusion of our Black History Month celebration, Jason hates on the famous “Dru Hill” step and more, smh. For episode 142, and if you've been under a rock, we are reviewing “Django Unchained” from the mind of Quentin Tarantino. Jazz tells the crew about her movie “The Monster Balls” featuring her Trevnate Rhodes and Mufasa. The crew , which is stacked featuring “Talkin Ish: A Podcast Amongst Friends, “ “Recap Kickback” , and newcomer Rico who defines the film a “Tasty Slave Film,” discussed if Django is in Jamie Foxx's top 5 movies. Better movie? Booty Call or Django? The crew gives their theater experience back in 2012. Could Will Smith have portrayed Django? Did the Oscar's get it right for all of Leonardo DiCaprio losses ? We give our top 3 Quentin Tarantino films . Of course we discuss our favorite moments of the movie . Samuel L Jackason as Steven was a very devilish, the crew discussed Sam running Candy Land. We discuss if Django would get greenlit with a black Writer/director. Did King Schultz fall under the white savior trope ? We get into this and much much more in this chaotic episode but we also answer the question you've been dying 13 years to know, WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!??

Angelo Ellerbee is an institution!  The public relations maverick has worked with and guided the careers of icons and ingenues, legends and leading actors and he has built a legacy that continues to flourish decades after he began.  The Newark, NJ native, who began his stellar career working in the fashion industry--designing, styling and hosting shows as fundraisers to combat the global issue of HIV/AIDS--soon found himself in the world of publicity and artist relations,In 1985, Ellerbee founded Double XXposure Public Relations, working with artists and record labels to champion the careers of such luminaries as Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack and reggae giants like Shabba Ranks and Patra, while also shaping the careers of supermodels and burgeoning business titans and industry leaders.  But the thing that caught the attention of everyone in the music industry was that Angelo Ellerbee had a keen sense of artist development, a component of the music industry that had helped to establish artists of the Motown era especially (but an essential part of most labels) that had slowly disappeared in the ever-changing landscape of music. While continuing to serve as CEO of his flagship enterprise, Ellerbee also went on to serve as Senior VP of Publicity for Island Def Jam Records, where he brought R&B supergroup Dru Hill, music legend Mr. Biggs aka Ronald Isley of the legendary Isley Brothers, and gospel superstar Karen Clark Sheard to prominence. Double XXposure managed such major talents as sex symbol/singer Ginuwine, pop superstar Laura Branigan and rap icon DMX.  Ellerbee took the helm of DMX's career, serving as President and General Manager of rap superstar's Bloodline Records.  Under his leadership, Ellerbee cultivated the Def Jam imprint into a full-fledged recording company. In addition, he managed the multi-platinum recording artist himself, as he collected more than 22 million record sales in his global tallies. Never one to settle or sit on his laurels, Ellerbee has continued to expand his presence in media, writing 3 best-selling books [WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE?, ASK ANGELO (46 Years of Industry Excellence) and his latest tome THE SENSE OF SUCCESS, where his no-nonsense style helps the readers tackle difficult shifts and struggles in their quest for success).   He continues to work in television, partnering with BET Networks to produce 4 shows, including Harlem Hall of Fame, which will honor and celebrate the culture of the renown hamlet and such Harlem heroes as the original Black sex symbol, actor Billy Dee Williams, Congressman Charles Rangel, fashion maverick Audrey Smaltz, leading lady of Hollywood Leslie Uggams and music's buoyant bad boy for life, producer/recording artist/fashion mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.  Ellerbee also works passionately with the LGBTQ community, having served as Chairman of the Board of NYC's Gay Men of African Descent (GMAD) and working with Unity Fellowship Church Movement on their 35th Anniversary Gala under the leadership of Archbishop Carl Bean, who recorded "Born This Way" during his own stellar career at Motown Records.  Angelo Ellerbee is the Sultan of Swag and his capacity to transform and translate the culture has made him an industry giant for decades, and he's still standing.  That's what institutions do!© 2024 All Rights Reserved© 2024 Building Abundant Success!!Join Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy:  https://tinyurl.com/BASAu

It's time for another edition of our series Chartbreakers, where we take a look at the trends and shakeups happening on the Billboard Hot 100. This week, however, the chart has been dominated by Drake and his album For All the Dogs, which takes up a grand total of 23 spots on the Hot 100. So, rather than do a story on that, Charlie and Nate take a look at the brand new TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart, established only last month. This chart – which measures the most popular songs on the platform through each song's number of videos, views, and user engagement – perhaps best shows the things that are popular and pervasive among a contingent of younger music listeners. Here, there's room for everybody from Mitski to Sexyy Red to J. Dash, highlighting that the music that's popular isn't necessarily what hits the radio.
