For years, I've shown up online sharing my passion for strength training, helping women build confidence in and out of the gym, and encouraging them to pursue their strongest selves. But behind the workouts, the coaching and the business, there's been another journey I've been navigating quietly. In this episode, I'm opening up about my health diagnoses, how they've impacted my life, and some of the challenges I've faced behind the scenes. I'm also sharing my thoughts, fears, and emotions surrounding fertility, motherhood and the uncertainty that can come with not knowing what the future holds. This isn't an episode filled with answers or a perfectly wrapped-up story. It's an honest conversation about navigating unexpected health challenges, managing the emotions that come with them, grieving expectations, holding onto hope and redefining what strength truly means when life doesn't go according to plan.My hope is that by sharing my story, anyone facing their own health struggles, fertility concerns or difficult season of life feels a little less alone.Because sometimes strength isn't found in pushing harder- it's found in allowing yourself to be seen, embracing uncertainty and continuing to move forward one day at a time.So settle in and let's catch up!And if you're not already, be sure to follow me on socials @thestrengthgirl to follow along and weigh-in on the conversations we'll be having. Be sure to also share the episode and pop it into social media so that I know you've tuned in. Not every good hound comes out of the gate bold. Some take time, patience, and the right kind of handling to find their confidence—and if you push too hard, you can set them back just as fast as you move them forward. In this episode, we break down what a timid or hesitant hound really needs. We talk about reading your dog, knowing when to step in and when to step back, and how to build confidence without creating pressure. From controlled exposure to the woods, to letting them learn at their own pace, this one's about bringing the best out of a dog that might not show it right away. In this lesson, Pastors Dale and Patty talk about the importance of speaking your faith. Many believers go through the process of building and strengthening their faith through hearing and hearing the Word, yet still do not see what they are believing for manifest. Why? Because faith is not activated in the hearing alone. Having one's reservoir filled with the Word is not enough. We must also release our faith by boldly using our voices to declare, proclaim, decree, and establish the Word.
Have you ever sensed clearly what God was asking you to do—yet found yourself hesitating? In Episode #686, The Danger of Hesitant Obedience to God, we explore a subtle but powerful leadership challenge: the difference between saying "yes" to God and saying "yes… but." Drawing from the story of Barak in Judges 4, this episode reveals how even sincere faith can become conditional when the stakes feel high. Barak didn't refuse God's command—he agreed to go, but only if Deborah went with him. His obedience was real, but it was also hesitant. That tension is familiar for many Christian leaders today. We often don't resist God outright. Instead, we negotiate: "I'll step forward when I feel more prepared." "I'll obey when the risk feels manageable." "I'll act once the outcome looks clearer." This episode unpacks why hesitant obedience matters more than we realize. While it doesn't stop God's purposes, it can reshape our role in them. Barak still experienced victory—but the honor of that victory went elsewhere. You'll also discover three critical leadership insights: Hesitation doesn't cancel God's plan—but it may limit your participation. Faith is most tested at the point of risk, not belief. Courage is formed through obedience—not before it. In addition, this episode offers practical guidance for moving from conditional obedience to wholehearted trust. You'll learn how to identify hidden "if" statements, confront the fears behind hesitation, and take the next step even when the outcome is uncertain. If you're facing a decision that feels costly, risky, or unclear, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to trust God fully—without conditions. Because in leadership, the defining moments are often quiet ones—where we decide whether to follow God completely or cautiously. And that decision shapes not only our direction… but our legacy.

It's the whirlpool of war, with prices spiralling upward while confidence is turning in the opposite direction. That's according to a new survey from the Employers and Manufacturers Association. Of the 150 business that responded to the EMA's Fuel Pulse Check Survey, 73 percent said their businesses have been notified of price hikes that are not direct fuel costs, but are linked to oil price surges. Almost 60 percent are planning to put their prices up in response. EMA's head of advocacy, Alan Mcdonald spoke to Lisa Owen.
In this episode, I break down why returning to sport after injury isn't just physical, it's neurological.Using Karl Friston's Free Energy Principle, I explain why the brain resists uncertainty and how that shows up as hesitation, fear, or lack of trust in the body.I walk through how building physical capacity and mental distress tolerance helps update these predictions, and why gradual exposure, from gym work to full gameplay, is key to restoring confidence.

What do you do when you prayed, believed, and showed up faithfully…and life still didn't unfold the way you hoped? In this episode, I speak to the quiet disappointment many leaders carry but rarely say out loud. Not rebellion. Not unbelief. Just the ache that forms when expectations don't land, and faith begins to feel heavier than it used to.This conversation explores:• Why disappointment with God often goes unspoken, especially for leaders• The silent shift that happens when trust and intimacy feel strained• What Abraham's 25-year wait reveals about vision before evidence• Why delay doesn't mean you missed God• How preparing your heart, not controlling outcomes, restores peaceIf you've ever felt:• Faithful but tired• Still serving, yet internally strained• Hesitant to hope again• Unsure how to trust God after disappointmentThis episode is for you.

Jay Woods is hesitant to how Micron (MU) will react on Thursday's trading session after experiencing a strong earnings rally. His hesitancy comes after Nvidia (NVDA) and Broadcom (AVGO) saw strong post-earnings rallies that faded the following day. He adds that Santa Claus is finally hitting Wall Street in the form of the CPI, with Jay holding cautious optimism to see if "this is the change we need" for the inflation picture. He's optimistic on 2026 continuing a bull run but adds that the run will be "tempered" with Mag 7 leadership in question, guiding for low to mid single digit gains in the SPX.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

29 years of combination experience. A Captain on Rescue 1 with Stamford Fire Department in Connecticut. The fire service was far from Joe's mind as he was looking at a career in civil engineering or being an architect. His friends were local volunteers and invited Joe to come hang out at the fire house and see what it was like. After a little bit one mentioned to Joe to fill out the application and see what it was really about. Hesitant at first Joe finally did and once he was able to obtain his Firefighter 1 certification in his words “Was life changing” because the fire service had never crossed his mind until that moment. In this interview Joe really brought home some solid gems and nuggets that all Firefighters should hear especially if you're involved with recruit training. Not just showing the how but also reinforcing the why. Joe wasn't quite sure what to expect with coming on board to talk shop but one thing for sure is he knocked it out the park.

What if a traumatic childhood experience could become the catalyst for a career saving thousands of lives, not through arrests, but through education and early intervention? In this episode, Chuck Marting, retired law enforcement officer with 19 years of distinguished service and founder of Colorado Mobile Drug Testing, shares his unexpected journey from almost being kidnapped as a teen in Southern California to becoming one of the nation's leading experts in workplace impairment detection. Through a pivotal moment when an officer took the extra step to check on him that same night, Chuck discovered his calling: if he could do for others what that officer did for him, his life would have meaning. From earning recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving to becoming a certified Drug Recognition Expert to building a mobile drug testing business from his kitchen table 14 years ago, Chuck has transformed how employers protect their teams. His philosophy is revolutionary: shift from "zero tolerance" (reactive, after the fact) to "zero blind spots" (proactive, before tragedy strikes). With workplace impairment costing US businesses $81 billion annually, Chuck's mission has never been more critical. Chuck reveals the restaurant encounter where a former client thanked him for saving his family, how one trained supervisor caught an employee vaping marijuana in plain sight, and why relationships with his father, his wife of 35 years, and mentors like Jack Canfield have shaped everything he does. [00:04:30] The Origin Story: A Childhood Trauma That Planted a Seed As a teen in Southern California, Chuck was grabbed by someone attempting to kidnap him Broke free, ran to nearest house, called for help Police officer arrested the suspect quickly [00:06:24] Finding His Gift: Becoming a Drug Recognition Expert Got into law enforcement and discovered natural gift for detecting impairment Performed so many DUI arrests that Mothers Against Drunk Driving recognized him Sent to Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) school, one of law enforcement's hardest certifications Equivalent of college semester compressed into two weeks [00:08:20] The Kitchen Table Beginning: Starting Colorado Mobile Drug Testing 14 years ago, arrested someone who was panicking about missing pre-employment drug test Answer: "Nobody does that" Light bulb moment: started researching, found nobody in Colorado doing mobile drug testing Started business at kitchen table with his wife [00:09:40] The Problem Chuck Solves: Teaching "Zero Blind Spots" Saw supervisors missing obvious signs of impairment due to lack of training Most employers treat drug testing as afterthought until crisis hits Workplace impairment costs: $81 billion/year in US, $4 trillion/year worldwide Created training programs that go beyond textbook knowledge [00:12:20] Colorado's Marijuana Legalization: 21 Years Later Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana over 21 years ago Even after two decades, many Colorado employers still have no policies or training Chuck speaks nationally and trains companies on handling this challenge Also coaches supervisors on leadership skills learned from law enforcement Active listening, de-escalation, and other cop skills translate directly to business leadership [00:16:11] Most Impactful Result: The Restaurant Encounter Two years ago, took team to Christmas dinner at restaurant in city where he was officer Hesitant to go (officers typically avoid areas they policed) Chuck's immediate concern: arrested? positive drug test? upset? The reveal: "Four weeks ago I lost my job because I had a positive drug test" [00:26:00] Recent Impact: The Supervisor Who Caught the Vape Trained a "designated employer rep" (safety program manager) who became passionate about program Client called Chuck: "Something's off with this employee, I need confirmation" Supervisor thanked Chuck: "I don't know if I would've ever caught this before" This is Chuck's mission: protecting employers, teams, and community [00:29:20] Why This Work Matters: The 3 AM Calls As officer, had to tell families at 2-3 AM their loved one was killed by impaired driver "Very difficult situation to have to be in" Employers face same situation when workplace accidents occur Would do this work even without pay; mission to prevent tragedies "I'm only one guy doing the best I can to get it out there" [00:32:00] Chuck's Business Philosophy Runs 24/7 operation and is available anytime because problems don't wait "If I get a call at 3 AM, so be it. You might have to give me a couple minutes because it might sound like I need a drug test" Doesn't want anyone waiting or feeling like they're inconveniencing him Core message: Zero tolerance is reactionary and after the fact Zero blind spots is proactive, recognizing issues before tragedy strikes KEY QUOTES "What made the impact on me was later on that night, that officer came to my home to make sure that I was okay. He took that added time. That made that impression on me. And I remember thinking to myself, if I can do what he just did for somebody else, then I want to do that." - Chuck Marting "It's hard to read the label when you're inside the bottle." - Chuck Marting "I'm not gonna be able to take somebody in an hour or two hours of training and turn them into a drug recognition expert, but if they listen to some of the things that I teach them, they're gonna catch those things." - Chuck Marting "Zero tolerance is reactionary, after the fact. Zero blind spots: recognizing this before something happens, is what we have to focus on." - Chuck Marting CONNECT WITH CHUCK MARTING

It's time for another Hallmark review! This episode was originally released in 2024, and we were joined by Alonso Duralde to break down the final Groomsmen movie.ABOUT THE GROOMSMEN: LAST DANCEJackson moves to Italy to be near his daughter, but a chance meeting with cafe owner Gabriella, and some meddling friends, may lead to a second chance at love.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE GROOMSMEN: LAST DANCEOctober 31, 2024 | Hallmark+ / September 20, 2025 | Hallmark ChannelCAST & CREW OF THE GROOMSMEN: LAST DANCETyler Hynes as JacksonJonathan Bennett as DannyB.J. Britt as PeteElena Rusconi as GabriellaBRAN'S THE GROOMSMEN: LAST DANCE SYNOPSISThe movie kicks off at the initial wedding, where Jackson is dancing with his daughter, Betty, when she drops a bomb—she's moving to Italy with her mom. Jackson is devastated. He runs a firm representing social media influencers, including a guy who just eats soup. One day, he gets a call from his ex asking if Betty can stay with him for a while. Jackson comes up with a better idea: “I'll come to you!”He heads to Italy in a red convertible—because why not? He nearly hits a woman named Gabriella, and though he thinks he'll never see her again, fate has other plans. Gabriella runs a café that doesn't serve cappuccinos in the afternoon, so they keep bumping into each other. Friction turns into sexual tension, and Jackson even builds her a new website. But he insists, “Nothing is going to happen between us,” hesitant to love again after his divorce. When his sons visit, they encourage him to go to a masked dance. Hesitant at first, he ends up dancing with a masked stranger—and it's hot, hot, hot. He even dips her! But he leaves before discovering her identity. The next day at the café, Gabriella slips, and Jackson catches her—dip style—realizing it was the same woman from the dance. They talk it out, and she admits she didn't realize it was him. Later, while walking with Betty, she points out that Jackson is afraid of dating and that it's not fair to either of them.Gabriella brings over some lasagna, and Jackson offers to drive her home. When the car breaks down, they walk back together through the city. He opens up about his past, and she admits she knew it was him at the dance all along. Just as they're about to kiss, a sprinkler goes off—because, apparently, wet kisses are forbidden.Jackson joins Gabriella for dinner at her father's house and initially doubts their relationship can work. She reminds him, “We'll always have that dance.” Realizing he's been foolish, Jackson decides to stay—and they finally kiss. The story cuts back to Betty, the narrator. Milo shows up and confesses he's loved her since they were kids. They get married, everyone gives endless speeches, and then they all dance. Finally, the groomsmen perform their special dance again. Have you ever said something like:"I don't want to market myself.""I want to give God the glory, not myself.""I'm writing a book to help others, not puff myself up."Those are all valid concerns. As Christians, we absolutely should give God all the glory and focus on serving others rather than ourselves. But I don't think that means Christian writers aren't supposed to build an author brand.Quite the contrary.I believe it's important to let potential readers get to know you, the author. So in today's episode, I'm especially speaking to those of you who are hesitant to build your author brand. Listen in to discover 3 mindset shifts that will help you become a more confident Christian writer AND marketer.RESOURCESSnag a free copy of Your Path to PublishingEp. 127 - Is Fear of Success Holding You Back? It's Witness Wednesday! Todd Friel is at Georgia Tech where he talks with four students about Christianity, repentance, the significance of Easter, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Throughout the episode, Todd emphasizes the importance of the gospel, the need for forgiveness, and the role of Jesus Christ in salvation. Segment 1: • Student claims to believe in Easter but doesn't know why the resurrection matters. • Admits he's never really examined Christianity or the reason for Jesus' death. • Politely disengages without much spiritual interest. Segment 2: • Student who is from Maryland was raised Christian but avoids saying Jesus is the only way. • Hesitant to call other religions false, even while affirming Christianity for himself. • Struggles to boldly proclaim gospel exclusivity despite claiming personal faith. Segment 3: • Yoni proudly identifies as practicing Jew but admits breaking God's laws. • Rejects the idea of needing a Messiah, preferring personal responsibility for his sin. • Hears how Old Testament sacrifices point to Jesus, but remains unconvinced. Segment 4: • Rex boldly affirms Jesus as Lord but initially struggles to explain why. • Learns how the law exposes sin and why people need forgiveness, not just a better life. • Gets coached on using the Ten Commandments to make the gospel urgent and personal. ___ Thanks for listening!
