This week, we're looking at Marvel's "adult" thriller from the early 1990s, Sachs & Violens. Since one of the titular characters is a photographer from New York, we brought in an expert: Casey Fatchett, New York photographer and host of The Nerdy Photographer podcast! ----more---- Our new site is live! Heavy Hitters-O-Rama: Law Dog by Chuck Dixon, Henry Flint Henry, Marc Hansen, and company, Midnight Men by Howard Chaykin, and Sachs and Violens by Peter David and George Peréz, plus A.X.E. Judgment Day, Cosmic Detective by Jeff Lemire, Matt Kindt, and David Rubin, plus a whole mess more!
This time on the Couch: Mike, James, and Shée get palm-struck by 1993's Sachs & Violens no. 1! With the legendary George Perez's passing away, it's a great time to reflect on some of his greatest work, which you can find out about from other, more thoughtful podcasts. Over here on the soiled cushions of the Couch, it's time to take a look at a forgotten passion project about sex in society, coping with trauma, and how to afford a spacious apartment in New York on a low-level pornographer's commission! Sachs & Violens is a sordid tale of murder and revenge involving a sassy young Cher impersonator with her whole life ahead of her and a damaged middle-aged man who probably buys a lot of katanas off the Home Shopping Network at 3 am. Oooh, those two were just made for each other!
The need to belong. To not just guess the words, But to join in the song. All along, It’s what we’re searching for. Whether we pour our feelings in openness, Or keep them locked inside our secret box of silliness. Trombones and violens. Percussion of every persuasion. Couldn’t save a parade of boring. Pouring into a thirsty cup, will fill you up Richer than hoarding gold Ever could. Dragons should soar the sky, Not die for shiny metal. Settle? Never. Searching outside for the missing piece is an unrequited endeavor. It will leave you… And then you’ll be wanting more. And more. Your paper cup has a hole in it But what’s a flat tire When you’re consuming fire. Scorched earth Isn’t the result of burning passion. It’s the consequence of individualistic sadness. Majestic, Prophetic, Angelic, Sound so bold, But quickly become dogmatic When all I see is me. We need to belong to something. Have you taken the time to write down your greatest and most important values? Have you traced them like a line and uncovered who buried them within you? Uncover a great meaning, And you’ll have found the key. Belonging, It is one of the deepest, And most important, Of all the human needs. P.S. I hope you enjoy this week’s episode. :)

With all of the claustrophobia that comes with being quarantined, we decided to talk about the insane, clusterf#@! of madness that is McKamey Manor. We don't want to give too much away.
