(Originally recorded 05.21.26) Seeing as how we recorded this the day after the series finale of The Boys aired, do you think we are going to talk about that?  Of course we are.   Immediately after watching The Boys, Bruce watched The Punisher:  One Last Kill.  He's got some thoughts on that bloody affair as well. Bruce also finished the Levon Cade series by Chuck Dixon.  Thoughts?  Sure, he's got them. We talked about the Kentucky Derby and our VERY tenuous connection to one of the jockeys. There was some brief conversation about Redd Foxx and the comedy chitlin circuit.  I should take better notes. Stephe saw David Byrne in concert.  He's 73.  David Byrne, not Stephe. We talked about toy hunting, as we do. We discussed the Further Adventures of Pot Dad. Both of your friendly neighborhood hosts had trips since last we convened.  These are discussed.  Find out about Stephe in Tennessee and Bruce in Costa Rica. Then we hopped right into the meat of this week's episode. Bruce came up with an idea.  Think "F*ck, Marry, Kill" but with the entire MCU catalog to choose from.  No we're not getting carnal or betrothed.  Instead we Keep one property exactly as is.  We Delete on from existence in its entirety and we Change one to better suit our nerd ideals. I can promise no duplicate choices were made. There is some extra nerdy discussion of things we didn't choose and why.  We get off on a tangent trying to take Nick Fury from WWII all the way to the early days of SHIELD in the swinging sixties. That one yields some very fun results. Stephe talks briefly about Dungeon Crawler Carl. (hint - he hasn't started it yet) He hasn't watched Daredevil:  Born Again either. Bruce goes into a deep dive on Chuck Dixon's Levon series, the source material for last year's A Working Man. And, of course, we play "What's on Your Desk?" We used Moon Knight Epic Collection Volume 3: Butcher's Moon to take a broad survey of a Bronze Age character's transition to the Iron Age. In these pages, the multiple-personalities angle of the character is de-emphasized, and multiple creative teams try to crack the character of Marc Spector in their absence. The Fist of Khonshu goes from a  silver-suited urban vigilante to a supernatural avenger decked out with gold accessories, then back to a gritty and grounded international action hero (this time, with an unwanted sidekick). I have a soft spot for Wildcat, the Golden Age hero, member of the JSA, and trainer of heroes. And he has a connection to the Bat family, having trained more than one member. Due to the mounting sexual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman, it has become difficult to feature a book that he headlined at the very top of the list. While any other entry on the list that features Gaiman's work is an anthology, "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" Is a book that can't be discussed without Gaiman's contribution, and so it has been removed, and we are also reading "Succession" from Detective Comics V.1 Annual #4, by the wonderful and legendary Louise Simonson, so the Board remains evenly divisible by 3.
