Lead me along the right paths, and fill my cup until it overflows with Your goodness and unfailing love. In Jesus' name, Amen.   Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope daily Bible reading plan.  I'm sorry that the Monday devotional did not get posted.  That was my mistake.  Thus, I'm combining Monday and Tuesday today.  We've been walking through the name of Gods in the Old Testament.  Today we will talk about Jehovah Raah, which means the Lord my Shepherd, and Jehovah Mekoddishkem, which can be translated the Lord who Sanctifies You.   Let's begin with Jehovah Raah the Lord my Shepherd.  Remember Jehovah is the Existing One or Lord. Raah means to shepherd or to feed.  Jehovah Raah is found in Psalm 23:1, in which David declares, The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  David, once a shepherd himself, understood the deep responsibility of caring for his flock. He recognized that, just as sheep are entirely dependent on their shepherd, we are fully dependent on God. Jesus also identified Himself as our Shepherd in John 10:11 saying, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.  He not only guides us but has given His life to bring us into eternal safety.   Sheep don't think about what they will eat next, there they will lay their head, or even how they will stay safe.  They simply trust their shepherd.  In that same way, Jehovah Raah invites us to trust Him totally and completely.  He knows what we need and He is already making a way for us.  Please know Jesus Christ, our Shepherd, is near and ready to care for us.  He will never leave you.   Jehovah Mekoddishkem is the Lord who Sanctifies.  Mekoddishkem (pronounced mek-uh-DISH-kem) derives from the Hebrew word qâdash meaning "sanctify," "holy," or "dedicate." Sanctification is the separation of an object or person to the dedication of the Holy. When the two words are combined – Jehovah Mekoddishkem – it can be translated as "The Lord who sets you apart" or "The Lord who Sanctifies."    We see this name of God twice in the Old Testament, the first instance in the book of Exodus 31:13, Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: 'Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.'  The institution of the Sabbath was a great instance of God's favor to His people, and a sign that he had distinguished them from all other people.  God, by sanctifying this day among them, let them know that he sanctified them, and set them apart for Himself.   We are to live fully and completely for God, be devoted to Him in every way.  We know sanctification as the lifelong process of becoming like Jesus in our thoughts, actions, and attitudes.  And while we have to participate in our sanctification, we can't accomplish it on our own – we need the power of the Holy Spirit.     Blessings, Pastor Vicki

What does water baptism really mean? Is it just a public declaration of faith, or is there something deeper happening spiritually? In this powerful sermon from Dwelling House Church, Pastor Jeremiah Genin teaches on the biblical meaning of water baptism, surrender, sanctification, and obedience to Jesus. Through Scripture, powerful illustrations, and the story of Israel crossing the Jordan River, Pastor Jeremiah explains how baptism is not a “graduation” in Christianity, but an encounter with God and a declaration that your old life is gone and your new life belongs to Jesus. This message explores what it means for God to be “The Lord Who Sanctifies” and how believers are called to step into obedience, trust, and complete surrender to Christ. This sermon also highlights the importance of worship, gathering together as the church, walking by faith instead of feelings, and trusting God even before the waters part. Whether you're considering baptism, returning to faith, searching for a Spirit-filled church, or wanting a deeper understanding of biblical Christianity, this message will encourage and challenge you. Dwelling House Church is a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered church passionate about the presence of God, biblical truth, worship, discipleship, and helping people encounter Jesus in a real and transformative way. If you're searching for sermons about water baptism, surrender to God, sanctification, Christian obedience, Spirit-filled Christianity, or growing deeper in your relationship with Jesus, this message is for you. This sermon answers: 1.What is the true biblical meaning of water baptism? 2. What does it mean that God is “The Lord Who Sanctifies”? 3. Why does obedience to God often require stepping out in faith before we see the miracle?

Walk Boldly With Jesus

If you're reading along, just know this has been slightly shortened to fit the space, so it might not match the audio word for word—but you're not missing anything important. He Is Series Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You) — When You Feel Unworthy, God Is Still Working in You Exodus 31:13 “You yourself are to speak to the Israelites: ‘You shall keep my sabbaths… that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.'” Today, we are talking about Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You). To be sanctified means to be made holy. God is the one who makes us holy.  At a mission, a speaker asked who wanted to be holy; only a few hands went up. Then he asked who wanted to go to heaven—everyone raised their hand. He said, “You know the only way to get to heaven is to be holy, right?” Another speaker said something similar. Few wanted to be saints, but everyone wanted heaven. The truth is, we are all called to be saints—not necessarily Saints with a capital S like Mother Teresa or Saint Catherine of Siena—but we do need to be sanctified to enter heaven.  God is the one who sanctifies us through His grace, love, and mercy. He wants each of His children to be holy so we can spend eternity with Him. I think many of us hesitate to say we want to be holy for two reasons. First, we don't want to seem prideful. Second, we think it will require more than we can give. We assume it means doing everything perfectly or giving up everything we enjoy, so we avoid it. I looked up what sanctification means using the Truthly app—an AI tool that shares faith-based insights rooted in Catholic teaching. To be sanctified means: To be made holy — God transforms us from the inside out through grace. To be set apart — We are dedicated to God, no longer living just for ourselves. To be purified — God doesn't just cover sin; He cleanses it. The primary means of sanctification are: The Holy Spirit The Sacraments Prayer, fasting, and works of mercy Suffering united to the Cross The goal is full participation in God's life—what some call theosis—sharing in His divine life by grace. This is the purpose of the Christian life: not just to avoid hell, but to become truly holy. We cannot make ourselves holy, but we can cooperate with God—or resist Him. Before I continue, I want to say something important. I'm not sharing this so you feel like you have to do everything or that you're falling behind. This isn't a checklist. This is just a way to notice how God is already working in your life… and where He might be inviting you a little deeper. You don't have to do everything perfectly. Just listen and see if one thing stands out. Here are simple ways we can cooperate with God's grace: Prayer — Opens our hearts to God The Sacraments — Especially the Eucharist and Confession Scripture — Helps us hear His voice Fasting — Trains our hearts to depend on God Works of mercy — Loving others Offering suffering — Letting God transform it Devotion to Mary — Drawing closer to Jesus Spiritual guidance — Getting help from others Daily reflection — Noticing God's presence Virtue — Choosing patience, humility, and love This is not about doing all of these. Just ask: is there one step God is inviting me into? We can also unintentionally resist grace: Pride — Thinking we don't need God Serious sin — Though we can always return Neglecting prayer — Losing connection Small compromises — Slowly pulling away Tempting situations — Leading us to struggle Spiritual apathy — “It doesn't matter” Ignoring conscience — Dismissing that nudge Attachments — Loving things more than God Unforgiveness — Blocking grace Despair or presumption — Too far gone or no need to change Again, this is not to make you feel bad. Just ask gently: “Is anything blocking what God wants to do in me?” Grace is not earned—it is received. God is always giving. The question is whether our hearts are open. As Saint Augustine said, our hearts are restless until they rest in God—and every step toward Him brings us closer to that rest. I know this episode was more teaching than usual, but I felt called to share it. If you're listening, I believe you want heaven—and God wants that too. He is working in you every day. What is one way you can cooperate more with His grace? What might be resisting it? Dear Jehovah Mekoddishkem, bless all who are listening. Thank You for sanctifying us and wanting us with You forever. Show us anything blocking Your grace and help us cooperate with it. We want to be holy. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Thank you for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus! Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit, “Who needs to hear this?” If someone comes to mind, send it to them. I look forward to seeing you Monday. Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are—and so do I! Have a blessed weekend! In Hebrews the writer is telling us about our sanctification as it pertains to our salvation and what God did through the body of Jesus. God is communicating to us that it is His will that we have been sanctified, been made holy, and He is sanctifying us, making us holy. It has happened and is happening through the body of Jesus. This is important to understand because our sanctification or our holiness is not because of something that we do or don't do, If we're not careful we can treat our sanctification like a product and remove the importance of the body of Jesus.

Before you listen to this podcast, part 2 of lesson 69 of Exodus, it is highly recommended that you listen to part 1.  It establishes the foundation for part 2 and part 3.  Here's the link to Exodus 69 part 1 - https://lightofmenorah.podbean.com/e/exodus-69-part-1-exod-291-20-ordain-fill-the-hands/?token=7ff856387a2146fbe29d60bdcecc5531 The concept of head and heart and hands and feet is a metaphor the rabbis of Jesus' day and before recognized.  It is found throughout the Bible.  In Jewish thought, the head, heart, hands, and feet symbolize the integration of a person's life, encompassing the faculties of intellect (head), mental capabilities & will (heart), and action (hands and feet), all directed toward serving God and living a moral, purposeful life. Symbolic Meanings Head (Intellect/Wisdom): is an input out device. We speak and see as output. We see and hear and taste as input.  From the input it goes directly to our heart. Heart (Mind & mental abilities & Will): the heart (lev) is the seat of our mind, our intellect, our mental capabilities. It is not related to our feelings or emotions. In the Hebrew scriptures the seat of emotions are the kidneys (see https://www.torahapologetics.com/language--word-studies/hebrew-anatomy-part-2-the-kidneys for this idea). Hands (Action/Deeds): the tools of action and the means by which a person translates intellectual understanding into tangible deeds – things that we do resulting from the intentions coming from our mind (hearts). Feet (The way we live/Our walk): how we live, the observable direction of our lives. This lesson might spur you on to do you own study of the concept of head and heart and hands and feet.  I watch for this constantly as I read and meditate and study and do research and even pray the text.  One example is when I say my morning prayers including the Shema that Jesus would've said three times a day.  I have been blown away as to how the concept of head and heart and hands and feet is everywhere in these Bible verse prayed by Jews three times a day in Jesus' day, before His time, and even till today.  Check it out …  THE SHEMA שׁמע Head and Heart and Hands and Feet Deuteronomy 6:4–9 "Hear (HEAD), O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone! "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart (HEART) and with all your soul and with all your might. "These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart (HEART). "You shall teach (HEAD) them diligently to your sons (children) and shall talk (HEAD) of them when you sit in your house and when you walk (FEET) by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand (HAND) and they shall be as frontals on your forehead (HEAD). "You shall write them (HAND) on the doorposts of your house and on your gates (FEET). Deuteronomy 11:13–21  "It shall come about, if you listen (HEAD) obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart (HEART) and all your soul, that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather (HAND) in your grain and your new wine and your oil. "He will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied. "Beware that your hearts (HEART) are not deceived, and that you do not turn away (FEET) and serve other gods and worship them. "Or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its fruit; and you will perish quickly from the good land which the LORD is giving you. "You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart (HEART) and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand (HAND)  and they shall be as frontals on your forehead (HEAD). "You shall teach (HEAD) them to your sons (children), talking (HEAD) of them when you sit in your house and when you walk (FEET) along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up. "You shall write them (HAND) on the doorposts of your house and on your gates (FEET), so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth. Numbers 15:37–41 The LORD also spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make (HAND) for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put (HAND) on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue. "It shall be a tassel for you to look (HEAD) at and remember (HEART) all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do (HAND) them and not follow (FEET) after your own heart (HEART) and your own eyes (HEAD), after which you played the harlot (FEET), so that you may remember (HEART) to do (HAND) all My commandments and be holy to your God. "I am the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God. In this lesson I commented on Psalm 119:2 and the phrase “seek Him with all their heart.”  It has nothing to do with someone “looking” for God or Jesus since they do not feel His closeness or since He is invisible, we ask where is He.  Two podcasts that demonstrate that God is always with us and there is no reason to look for Him are Truth Nuggets 3 part 1 & 2.  These lessons will enhance our understanding that if we are His people, if we are truly His disciples, the followers of Jesus, and He is always with us.  There is absolutely no reason to go looking for the Lord as per the very words of God.  Moreover, it is more than the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.  Check them out …   Truth Nuggets 3 part1 – https://lightofmenorah.podbean.com/e/truth-nuggets-lesson-3-part-1/   Truth Nuggets 3 part 2 – https://lightofmenorah.podbean.com/e/truth-nuggets-lesson-3-part-2/?token=ddbd4a5471c8c67b359d9cb31ea26d7b   Light of Menorah did a podcast of this concept.  It is Truth Nuggets 13 entitled, “Head and Heart and Hands and Feet.” The link is below.  Over and over again we read the about being righteous and it is pictured in the way we talk or hear or listen (our head) or in our work or results of what we do (hands)  and in the ways we walk (feet) – walk in the commands of the Lord and walk in our own ways.  It is also pictured in the way we think or our emotions of feelings (heart).  Just consider the text in the prophet Isaiah. "Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The whole head is sick And the whole heart is faint. From the sole of the foot even to the head There is nothing sound in it, Only bruises, welts and raw wounds, Not pressed out or bandaged, ... So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood." (Isa 1:5-15) In one chapter we see this concept played out quite clearly.  The rebelliousness against God is pictured using the concept “head and heart and hands and feet.”  Another place this is seen is in the consecration of the high priest Aaron and his sons.  This is exactly what we are focusing in on in this podcast and in part 1.  Consider … "Then you shall take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram. "You shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear and on the lobes of his sons' right ears and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet, and sprinkle the rest of the blood around on the altar. (Exo 29:19-20) In the Torah Commentary by the Messianic Jewish scholar, Tim Hegg (make sure you check out his website as another resource for Bible study - https://torahresource.com/) says that these body parts in the ancient Middle East and among the ancient Hebrews came to mean hearing and obeying the Torah of the Lord using the ear (Head).  The right hand symbolizes one's work.  Aaron had his hand dedicated to the daily work of the sacrifices of the Lord (Hand).  His feet symbolize that he walk according the God's ways and maintain his right standing before God in his daily movements in life (Feet).  There are two verses that you may remember that deal with the heart.  In these verses we see that the heart is the source of our wickedness and our evil ways and thoughts.  Consider … "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways (feet), According to the results of his deeds(hands). (Jer 17:9-10) "But the things that proceed out of the mouth(head) come from the heart, and those defile the man. "For out of the heart come evil thoughts (heart), murders(hands), adulteries(hands), fornications(hands), thefts (hands), false witness(head)., slanders(head). (Mat 15:18-19) Let's delve into this and see the dramatic place it takes us.  Let's study this idea God seems to use to teach from Genesis to Revelation.  Come let's learn about Head and Hearts and Hands and Feet. Link - https://lightofmenorah.podbean.com/e/truth-nuggets-psalms-13-psm-151-3-head-heart-hands-feet/ In this lesson there is only one way to cleanse and sanctify and purify us head and heart and hands and feet.  It is found in the picture below.  It is the direction that God was taking the concept of head and heart and hands and feet.

Finishing chapter 8: If the kohen brought the blood of the offering into the Sanctuary unintentionally, the offering remains valid - implying that if he had done so intentionally, it would have invalidated the offering, but it seems to remain acceptable anyway. Plus, the Gemara lines up the various opinions to clarify them. Also, beginning chapter 9, with a new mishnah! On how the altar sanctified that which was fit for the altar - with a baseline of the burnt-offering. With discussion of what remains on the altar once it has been put there - even if it should not have been put there initially. Also, more on when that which has been brought on the altar, and should not have been - were they sanctified from their placement on the altar even though they shouldn't have been there? With credit to Rabbi Yehoshua for following his own thinking, though it may not have sat well across the board - for example, something that is fit for the altar, but wasn't offered at that time (certainly, there's no absolute agreement about such cases). Note also that not everything that is to be consumed by fire has the same status of sacrifices (for example, incense).

God loves us exactly as we are, but too much to let us stay that way. In the Bible, the process by which God changes a person and makes them more holy is called "sanctification." Sanctification isn't anything we can do on our own; we need an outside force. That's where the Holy Spirit comes in.

Growing In God Podcast  Web Description: We believe together that we will have the insight to see the simplicity of what God is doing today in Israel. As He has spoken, He is gathering all Israel and making them one nation in their land. In the process He will glorify Himself, not only before Israel, but before all the nations. So let us not be caught up in the confusion that the world is under but rather focus on and declare the fulfillment of God's Word.   Show Notes: Many people in the world are observing and reacting to what is happening in Israel. It can be confusing if you focus on the news reports and all the issues surrounding them. But there is a clarity and simplicity to what God is doing and has been doing in Israel, especially since the State of Israel was formed. God is gathering the sons of Israel from among all the nations where they have been scattered, and He is making them one nation in the land He gave them.   So the nations of the world need to be careful. God is the One who is settling the Jewish people in Israel. And if the nations are fighting that, then they are fighting God. If you are confused by what is happening in Israel, understand that satan is not. The source of the anti-Semitism and accusations against the Jewish people is not confusing at all. It is from satan, the accuser of the brethren, who accuses them day and night before God because he knows his time is short.    As we watch God fulfill His promise to bring the sons of Israel together and make them one nation, we know He will also fulfill His promise to sanctify them. With that He will show Himself to be God before the nations because they will know that He is the Lord who sanctifies Israel. The message could not be clearer, and we as believers need to be aligned with God's Word and not with the confusion that satan is bringing. We need to be believing, holding, and proclaiming God's Word over Israel. That is the truth and that is what will happen.   Key Verses:   •       Ezekiel 37:21–28. “The nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel.” •       Jeremiah 32:41. “I will … faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart.” •       Ezekiel 20:42–44. “I have dealt with you for My name's sake.” •       Revelation 12:10–13. “He persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.” •       Ezekiel 20:40–42. “You will know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the land of Israel.”   Quotes:   •       “How do we deal with the struggles and the war that's taking place right now? It's dealt with by coming back to the Scriptures and finding a clarity about what it is that God is doing, and then beginning to have ourselves move with Him.” •       “God is not just doing something stand-alone with Israel and the Jewish people. What He's doing with them is also going to show who He is to all the nations, that the nations may know God in the way that Israel will know God and does know Him.” •       “How are all these things going to end up? Well, they're going to end up in a covenant of peace that only God can bring forth.”   Takeaways:   1.    What is happening in Israel is not confusing. It is simple. God is settling the Jewish people in Israel. He is sanctifying them and making them the nation that He promised they would be. In that process He is showing Himself to be God to the nations. 2.    If you are fighting that, then you are fighting God; you are coming against what God is doing. The accusations against Israel are coming from satan, who understands exactly what God is doing, knows it means his end, and he is raging against it. 3.    The nations will be called to account for the way they have treated Israel and for the way they have either been for or against God's plan; either they helped or hindered the process of God bringing His Kingdom.
