In today's episode, the first of two-parts, we're joined by Catherine Ako from our February cohort, and Vita Franchina from the May group. When Cat joined the programme, she was nearing the end of her school years and faced significant decisions about higher education and pursuing a career in the creative industries. Vita, on the other hand, had just graduated when she joined us in May and was at a pivotal point in deciding how to focus her talents and career direction. We catch up with Vita and Cat since they joined this years Launchpad Insights programme in our London studio this year. I'm always telling clients to create third party credibility. And one way to do that is by guesting on other podcasts! Well, you know I walk the walk. So today, I'm sharing an episode I was featured on from my good friend Cat Del Carmen's podcast "Latina's Booked Out." This is one of my favorite podcast interviews I've done. When Cat and I met, I was her coach. Since then, we've grown to be great friends. One thing I talk about in this episode is the importance of surrounding yourself with other entrepreneurs who are aligned with you. Cat is a perfect example of an expander in my life and I think our friendship is part of what makes this conversation so great! If you've listened to the podcast for a while, some of the stories I tell in this episode might be familiar to you. But some of them, I haven't really touched on in Cycle Breakers & Money Makers yet. Cat has a gift for seeing things in people before they really see them in themselves. So her skills as a host really brought out a new conversation in me. In this episode, we're chatting about: - What had to happen for me to quit a secure corporate job- Navigating Covid as a newly full time entrepreneur- An honest conversation about handling money as a single parent- Surpassing the belief that you can't handle a six figure business-Why sitting in discomfort is a business skillConnect with Cat: Listen to Latinas Booked OutWebsiteInstagramConnect with me: InstagramLinkedinWebsite

Happy Valentine's Day my fellow travelers! In honor of the Day of Love, we're diving into the wonderful world of BDSM with Dr. Cat Meyer, a specialist on embodied sexuality. Our exploration begins with Cat's struggles with self acceptance and libido before she discovered kink in her early twenties. After briefly discussing styles of play, we jump right into why BDSM is a path not only to pleasure and surrender but to healing and growth. Cat explains how to create a safe container and the alchemizing effect of polarity in both the kink and tantra communities. We touch on Miss Jaiya's erotic blueprint before sharing a few kink archetypes. We close with consideration of kink mishaps, how to vet potential partners, and why aftercare is indispensable regardless of how you like to play. Today, I'm thrilled to welcome Cat Cantrill to the podcast! I'm fascinated by Cat's work, business, and everything she does!    Cat is an entrepreneur who coaches women with dating. She helps single women find the fun and flirty side and she's entertaining while she does it. This episode is a good one friends, listen in as Cat shares her vulnerability with you all!     Key Takeaways Cat wasn't always in entrepreneurship, it was when she took a corporate job that she realized she was really unhappy. She began to explore what made her happy and where she fit in by trying a variety of things, including a pole dancing class.     While always having a passion for dance, Cat decided to open up a dance studio for adults. It was a scary time for Cat but she kept telling herself, “If it doesn't succeed, at least I know I tried.”  When Cat opened up the studio, she also began a side gig of coaching women on how to find themselves again. In 2016 Cat quit her corporate job and was able to really focus and grow her business.  After Covid forced Cat's business to close it's doors, Cat began coaching full-time.  “I realized I was on the verge of burnout and I didn't know how much longer I was going to be able to go on the track I was going.” Cat shares how she felt while having to close her business in 2020.  Cat has really niched down her business and now only works with single women to find true love.  Cat has big dreams of hosting traveling dating shows and having clients all over the US. Carson from Enumclaw has written in to Fitz for help because he thinks his girlfriend Cat is pretending to be this monster San Francisco 49’ers fan just to be obnoxious. He says it’s all a show because she doesn’t really know much about football and sometimes wears a football jersey when it’s not even football season. And to make matters worse, he thinks, it’s a Colin Kaepernick jersey. He is getting too embarrassed to bring her to his family occasions anymore because she once actually had a run-in with his dad. When Cat comes on she says Carson is misrepresenting this – she does love football and has always been a Niners fan, and she wears the jersey because she loves the colors as well Colin Kaepernick’s mission, although she’s not quite sure what it is. And she says her problem with his dad is more about how much his father drinks than it is about who she roots for. Can these two work this out or, as it often is on MUBU, is this a symptom of a much bigger problem? The P1’s have a thing or two to say…!

When I first saw Cat Kabira in a yoga training video, she got me with her centered, peaceful, and most of all authentic approach. The words she said seemed to pour from her heart bringing with them a needed dose of love and compassion for all Humans, especially for the part of each of us that is vulnerable, imperfect, fumbling. Rather than taking a "self-betterment" approach to practice, she brought with her a sense of softening and opening to the parts of us that need a little extra support. She kept reminding her audience that "small things make big differences." And with that reminder, the smallest movements seemed to magnify, becoming subtle and profound drivers of change in my body. I felt more space, more lightness. In Cat's presence - even in a video I was streaming online - I felt myself soften more and open to parts of me I had so long condemned. It was a happy feeling, and one that I followed with that sense of knowing you sometimes get in your body that the mind catches up to much later. A few months later, here she is on the podcast. I was surprised to learn that someone that exudes peace and acceptance like nobody's business has had a significant and intense struggle with food in her past, and dialoguing with Cat just confirmed my observation that the areas we struggle with in life are the areas that life is inviting us to master.  Thank you, Cat, for your transparency, vulnerability, and realness. Simply put, I love this woman. We cover SO much ground in this episode, it's a bold adventure. Among other things, we touch: Mythology Astrology Energy Work ~ professionally and in our personal lives Relationships Sex Yoga Culture and Body Image Femininity and Female Confidence What it means to be a Goddess And so much more. Give yourself the treat of this episode; its an Offering for more Aliveness, Electricity, and Joyful Living. ~ Cat's bio: Cat Kabira, a teacher and trainer in yoga and the subtle and shamanic energetic arts, has been globally exploring and sharing her passion for nearly 20 years. She’s studied under many masters in several traditions and shares the gifts she’s gleaned. Originally from the United States, she’s been based in Bali for the past 12 years. What makes Cat’s classes unique are not necessarily the particular asana that’s practiced, but in how you’re guided to connect within to experience yourself in a deeper and more revelatory manner. Cat, known for the potency of her transformational work, teaches in a very present and intuitive way, seeing and feeling energy, and often makes more subtle energetic adjustments to assist your embodiment. She will guide you into sensing the “undercurrents” or the subtle energetics of your body, and gain awareness of your deeper sense of self. As her students say: “Cat is one of a kind: playful, energetic, intuitive, captivating, fully present, devoted. Something in Cat cracks your soul open, asks your inner-self to go deeper within and then lets your magic happen. When Cat crosses your path in life it is a transformative gift to be savored.” Find Cat at catkabira.com.

Michelle's thoughts on ep.3 All In: The CW should have replaced episode 2 with episode 3. The episode names are apt, ep. 2 is called Proceed with Caution and ep. 3 is called All In. The second episode of a new series is not the time to be cautious, they should have jumped all in immediately. I worry that the second episode hurt the show a lot and it won't get a second season, which is a shame after this episode. I really enjoyed this one. It reminded me a lot of the old 80's series in a good way. The case is finally not girl themed, about illegal aliens and being framed for murder. Maybe because Cat and Tess are not the leads on this case, instead it's two guys dressed as modern versions of 30's gangsters. We have some great moments with Cat investigating the case on her own and Tess getting upset about not being in the information loop. Cat finding the two girls and getting Vincent to help them was very reminiscent of the old show. I love that she doesn't give up investigating even when she's suspended. By the end of the episode Vincent finally gets tired of playing hide and seek and allows Cat to contact him when she needs help. This episode was really solid and makes me excited for the future. We didn't get a lot of Muirfield action like the preview seemed to promise but we have that to look forward to. There were only 2 things that I didn't like this episode. I still don't like Cat's sister being there; luckily she was hardly in this episode. She does have one good line when she tells Cat to go to her father's wedding with the doctor and when Cat protests that he is a player, Heather comes back with "You like players." More evidence of Cat pushing everyone in her life away and only dating men she knows will leave. The other part I didn't like is the idea of Vincent following Cat around without her knowledge. Very creepy stalker/twilight vampire watching her sleep. I hope that now they have a way to communicate he will stop doing that. Everyone ended in a good place this episode more communication between Cat and Vincent, and Cat and Tess. I loved that Cat checks one for attending the wedding despite her sisters nagging. It further reinforces that Cat's relationship with Vincent will be the most important one in her life and she's not ashamed of it. Way to stand up for a woman's right to be single and not be considered strange and defective! I think this episodes solid ending will allow them to really stir things up with some Muirfield action next time. I'm ready for some more creepy FBI guy action. See you next Thursday, CW! ¨ John's thoughts on ep. 3 All In: The latest episode of the CW's Beauty and the Beast (All In) was a big win, except for Cat who was almost demoted to garbage, oh Angry Sexy Boss you so crazy. All In shows us just how far our heroes are willing to go for their convictions, and Heather goes all the way! (That's Cats sister for those who blanked her out.) But seriously let's check out what we learned about these sex colored characters. When Cat believes an innocent woman is about to be railroaded to a guilty verdict, she decides to do some overtime police work to prove the woman's innocent. Much to the complaints of Joe "Me So Angry" Bishop who only wants justice served up in its purest bureaucratic form. Even good ol' Tess can't back her up on this slam-dunk case. Good for her, she shouldn't be a dumping ground for a one-sided relationship-EPISODE THEME ALERT!  When the feces hit the fan, and Angry Boss has a real reason to be angry, Tess has some harsh words for Cat. Simply put this aint no Thelma and Louise relationship, so think twice before swan diving off a cliff. This gives us the chance to see Cat described by her closest friend in the harsh light of anger. Tess calls Cat out easily for her emotional baggage and tendency to withdrawal into herself. All things we enjoy about her as they pushed her into the role of a driven savior. Dealing with someone like that on a daily basis, well you have my sympathies, as you'll be in the loop when you're useful. However, the two patch things up towards the end of the episode. Cat agrees to open up more and not keep her in the dark. (Episode theme expanding one-sided relationships!) Tess says she appreciates that Cat takes her seriously as a cop and says she is the best partner she's ever had. Awe, Cat's just a shinning star of friendship! Or it could be that Tess was partnered with a sexist bunghole for two years who found her feminine qualities an automatic rejecter of authentic detective skills. I also took this as some meta commentary from the creators in reaction to some of the more ludicrous reviews that don't take Cat and Tess seriously as cops because they are short and thin women. Moving on to Cats next one-sided relationship, because that's the only kind she has. We see Evan getting played by Cat to do some off the books investigatory work. Hey don't feel sorry for this smarmy bastard, he's an attractive doctor with an English accent. Our hearts should break for his foolish pursuit of Cat? No thank you. They do some flirting, as Cat knows how to work a man to get what she needs. In the most ironic line of the night Cat thanks Evan for his help and says, "Who would I rope into my investigations if not you?" Who but Vincent, and I think the camera fades to a scene with her and Vincent. Ouch. No growth in this one-sided relationship, just the advancement of sexual tension, Evan's sexual tension. The other one-sided relationship is the biggest and flips it on Cat, who can't really deal with it. Vincent has all the leverage of the relationship. He sets the rules, communication happens on his terms and he gets to give all the creepy surprise grabs and hugs! He's also the only person Cat seems to want. Everyone else serves as stand-ins and feels almost disposable at times. If Cat didn't work so hard to keep that social aspect of humanity she would see everyone as strictly a means to an end. Cat wants Vincent so badly that she will do anything to get him on her side of the savior game, in some ways because he was the one who got her started. She has thrown away much of her life to serve a greater good and is clearly a junky looking for a co-dependent, Vincent is her man. Her need for him is so strong the she actually accepts the weaker position in a one-sided relationship. No one else gets this treatment, not even JT "Shoo Cat" Forbes. He is adamant about his feelings toward her being around and she could careless. After numerous telling offs, and an attempted bat to the face, Cat's still in charge. Same goes for "Me So Angry" Bishop. He can yell, scream and suspend her, but Cat is still going to do it her way. Luckily for Cat Vincent is in love with her and so the pair talk about bringing some balance to the relationship (episode theme!) and Cat gets Vincent's digits. Looks like JT's ulcer is gonna need a Costco sized bottle of Pepto, because this cat aint going back to the pound. *A note on the podcast. We were hoping to have Ashley and Emma B. on the show, but this episode was so good it provided little to mock about. So we will have them on as soon as we get another "winning" episode.
