The Sacred Purpose Podcast

In this episode of the Sacred Purpose Podcast, Lisa Malia and Beth Clayton explore themes of vulnerability, grief, and the journey of self-discovery. They discuss the impact of the 'good girl' archetype on personal growth and leadership, emphasizing the importance of embracing both light and shadow in our lives. The conversation delves into the transformative experiences that arise from navigating grief and the role of community in healing. Beth shares her insights on intimacy and relationships, highlighting the significance of being authentic and transparent in our connections with others. In this conversation, Beth Clayton and Lisa Malia explore the profound journey of self-discovery, healing, and the transformation of inner demons into guardians. They discuss the importance of facing our fears, the emotional depth of personal growth, and the complexities of navigating relationships as we evolve. The dialogue emphasizes the significance of understanding our own patterns and the role of the 'wild daughter' archetype in embracing our authentic selves.   Takeaways: Grief can be a profound teacher and companion. The 'good girl' archetype often protects us from facing grief. Leadership involves showing vulnerability and humility. Self-discovery is a continuous journey, often through dark times. Embracing both our light and shadow leads to wholeness. Community plays a crucial role in healing and transformation. Intimacy requires authenticity and transparency. We all have parts of ourselves that need to be acknowledged and integrated. The journey of healing can reveal unexpected allies and lessons. Transformation often comes from surrendering to the process. Empathy arises from personal experience and humility. Facing our demons can lead to profound self-discovery. Demons can transform into guardians when we embrace them. The journey of healing is not just about lessons but about experiencing aliveness. Navigating relationships requires understanding our own changes. We put down patterns, not people, in our growth journey. Sovereignty is about becoming the one we were looking for. Intimacy requires discernment and understanding of our own needs. Grief is a necessary part of the healing process. The wild daughter archetype represents our authentic self in the journey.   Beth Clayton is the founder of Born Wild™, an initiatory journey guiding highly sensitive, visionary women from unmasking their Good Girl conditioning into embodied Untamed sovereignty — so they can build a life and legacy that finally reflect the truth of who they are and the depth of their hunger. A TEDx Broadway speaker, somatic mentor, and ceremonialist with over 15 years of experience — and an MFA in Acting from one of the nation's top conservatories — Beth blends nervous system work, mythic storytelling, archetypal embodiment, and ritual to create immersive transformational thresholds rather than traditional coaching programs. Her work calls women back to the wisdom of their bodies, the medicine of their lived experience, and the leadership that emerges when they root into who they have always been — before the masks. So many women are exhausted right now - running on empty, even while doing everything "right."It's rarely about doing too much. It's about how long you've held it all together, wearing the mask, while quietly disappearing from your own life. This week I sit down with Nicolette, founder of Womanship - a platform connecting women and professionals of well-being. She shares her own burnout story, and what it actually took to come home to herself: to take off the mask, to say no, to trust her own body again. We get into:why so many women feel exhausted even when they're doing everything "right"the difference between stress and a truly regulated nervous systemthe quiet signs of survival modehow suppressed emotion becomes unease, then burnoutthe patterns we inherit through our family linea simple way back to your body and your needsBecause the way out was never more thinking, more fixing, more pushing yourself into the ground. Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Roshi – 8/9/26 – With effort in practice, we bring forth our natural aliveness. To do this we make an effort to let go of self-clinging and other ways we deplete our energies. Even with expectations of the way we imagine “letting go” to be, when we encounter the reality of how tight we grasp on to our attachments, can we yield our fixed and self-centered ideas? Shugen Roshi explores this energy of aliveness with the Five Powers of the Buddha as well as a koan from Dogen's 300 Koan Shobogenzo. (From The True Dharma Eye, Case 44: Guishan’s “I have already exhausted myself for you.”)

There's a particular kind of tightness that creeps in when the world feels unpredictable. We tidy the to-do list, tighten the routine, optimise one more thing, all in an attempt to feel a bit more in control. Oliver Burkeman has a word for this: clenching. And he reckons it's squeezing the life out of us, even when it looks a lot like productivity. In this episode, I sit down with Oliver Burkeman, New York Times bestselling author of Four Thousand Weeks and Meditations for Mortals, and former writer of The Guardian's This Column Will Change Your Life, to talk about his forthcoming book Aliveness and what he calls unclenching, learning to loosen your grip on certainty rather than white-knuckle your way through it. We get into flexible goals, why urgency is so often someone else's agenda in disguise, and how to stop tying your self-worth to your latest achievement. If you have ever hit a goal and felt the satisfaction evaporate within minutes, this conversation will change how you think about ambition altogether. Oliver and I discuss: What "clenching" is, and why our instinct to grip tighter in uncertain times actually backfires The insecure overachiever trap, and why hitting a goal rarely feels like enough for long How Oliver's open list, closed list approach stops you drowning in fifty half-started things Setting a "no later than" time instead of a strict start time, and why looser goals often get more done Why urgency is so often someone else's agenda in disguise, and how to tell when it is genuinely yours What Oliver actually does with the emails he has not gotten to yet Key quotes "If you have this feeling of aliveness, even the most difficult challenges are copeable with, and if you don't have this feeling of aliveness, even the most impressive accomplishments are kind of worthless." "You will do enough, because you will do everything that it's within your capacities and your energy levels and your talents to do, and that just by definition will be all that you could ever have done." What happens when our modern schooling system reaches its logical conclusion—one optimized for a thin slice of intellectual testing that the computer in our pocket can now ace in seconds? In this episode of An Educated Guest, host Todd Zipper sits down with Abby Falik, the founder of Global Citizen Year and the creator of the flight school, an innovative global community without a physical campus designed to provide an education higher than higher ed. Abby shares how her early experiences as a Backroads trip guide and her two decades of dedicated Vipassana meditation practice converged to form a living laboratory aimed at moving learning entirely beyond traditional schooling. The conversation dives deep into the concept of human agency, exploring how the hyper-distractions of 2026 threaten our innate ability to choose our responses to the world around us. Abby explains why the flight school completely upends the classic "gap year" narrative, choosing instead to view this transitional life stage as a structured "launch year." By guiding ambitious young seekers from dozens of countries through specialized modules on rethinking success, time, attention, and money, the program serves as a secure base for daring global explorations that reshape identity from the inside out.Ultimately, Todd and Abby unpack the exhilarating inflection point currently facing higher education as the traditional credential economy faces unprecedented disruption. Moving past rigid metrics and AP-course arms races, they discuss what it truly means to build learning pathways centered around the "immeasurables"—qualities like equanimity, attention, and vitality. Whether you are an institutional leader looking to navigate the era of AI, a parent trying to foster resilience in your children, or a seeker trying to align your livelihood with genuine aliveness, this episode serves as a beautiful invitation to make the leap from fear to freedom.

Are you curious about how to tap into your body's natural state of ecstasy without relying on physical stimulation or external gadgets? In this episode of Deepen with Christina, host Christina Weber sits down with intimacy coach and energy activation expert Natalya Krayeva to dive deep into the world of energy orgasms. Natalya shares her profound journey of hitting rock bottom—navigating divorce, miscarriage, and addiction—and how she reverse-engineered esoteric yoga, shamanic breathwork, and tantric practices to heal herself, activate her life force energy, and build a unique global career. This episode is for anyone looking to release stored trauma, break through emotional blocks, or expand their capacity for pleasure, joy, and deep romantic connection. Tune in to learn how to claim your role as the main character of your life and harness your sexual energy to rewrite your reality. Main Topics Covered Demystifying the Energy Orgasm — Breaking down how full-body energetic activation works and how it differs fundamentally from localized physical stimulation.  From Rock Bottom to Somatic Awakening — Natalya's vulnerable story of overcoming a toxic divorce, miscarriage, and rehab to reclaim her personal sovereignty. The Alignment of Energetic Centers — Learning how to bridge the fiery engine of your sexual center with the unconditional love of your heart and the manifestation power of your mind. The Somatic Flushing System — Using life-force energy as a cleansing wave to clear out deeply rooted childhood wounds, subconscious traumas, and emotional stagnation. Healing the Collective Masculine and Feminine — Shifting from defensive, anger-based empowerment to co-creating safe, non-judgmental spaces for both men and women. Reality Transsurfing and Somatic Timelines — Exploring the powerful intersection between energy activation and shifting into a brand-new path for your life. Guided 5-Minute Energy Practice — A step-by-step live exercise led by Natalya to pump, warm up, and feel your inherent life-force energy running through your system. Key Takeaways You Can Voluntarily Regulate Your Energy — Life-force energy is a functional skill; you can dial it up to 100% for intimate encounters or dial it down completely to walk safely and unnoticeably in dark environments. Shrinking Blocks Aligned Love — Dimming your light or hiding your unique gifts to accommodate a partner is a losing strategy; expanding into your brightest, most authentic self is what attracts the right relationship. Somatic Ecstasy Outlasts Physical Stimulation — While a localized physical orgasm typically peaks and fades within 60 seconds, an activated energy orgasm can sustain a state of pure bliss for minutes, hours, or even days. TRue Love Demands Ego Dissolution — Real love is an active, intentional process of peeling back the defensive layers of your ego, fears, and negativity to open your capacity for genuine sharing. What would you be willing to risk for “full aliveness”? In this episode, leadership coach Clay Stelzer unpacks radical responsibility, unconscious fear patterns, and how courageous self-awareness can transform the way you lead, work, and live.   In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Clay Stelzer discuss: The meaning of “full aliveness” and positive selfishness Radical responsibility vs. victim, blame, and hero patterns Unconscious fears around security, approval, and control Feedback, delegation, and leadership blind spots Handling triggers, anger, and emotional energy as a leader   Key Takeaways: You can't create a fulfilling life or career without first getting radically honest about what you truly want and what you're currently sacrificing to please others. Most of the outcomes people dislike in their lives are driven by reactive, fear-based decisions made without intention. Leaders are constantly influenced by three unconscious fears: threats to security, approval, and control, and these fears quietly shape decisions around feedback, delegation, and team dynamics. Taking radical responsibility means noticing your patterns, acknowledging your part in any situation, and choosing to learn rather than blame, shame, or play the hero. Emotional triggers and anger shouldn't be buried; when you move that energy in healthy ways, you regain access to clarity, curiosity, and better leadership choices.   "If you could be absolutely selfish and hurt no one's feelings, what would you want? Just understanding that is so important, because then you can get clear about what am I sacrificing or what am I compromising." —  Clay Stelzer   Check out my new show, Be That Lawyer Coaches Corner, and get the strategies I use with my clients to win more business and love your career again.   Join the Be That Lawyer Community and connect with ambitious lawyers who are serious about growing their book of business, strengthening their brand, and becoming confident, consistent rainmakers.   Ready to go from good to GOAT in your legal marketing game? Here we are, sweet soul. At the end of a chapter. At the closing of this beautiful journey we have shared together here. What began as conversations whispered into the unknown became something so much bigger than imagined. A gathering place. A remembering of hearts, stories, healing, grief, awakening, love, and transformation. And as this chapter comes to a close, what wants to remain is not sadness, but gratitude. Deep gratitude for every soul who listened. For every message shared. For every woman who chose to keep showing up for herself through the tenderness and uncertainty of these times. We are living through extraordinary change. And while the world continues to shift and unravel and reinvent itself, there is also something sacred being born through us. A deeper embodiment. A deeper remembrance. A deeper devotion to what truly matters. This final conversation is a gentle invitation to care for yourself fiercely and lovingly. To stop hiding the parts of yourself that ache, feel deeply, question, long, and dream. Those parts are not broken. They are sacred. They are guiding you. You are a soul living through monumental times with wisdom inside you that the world desperately needs. Thank you for walking this path together. Thank you for bringing your heart here. Thank you for listening, growing, unraveling, and remembering alongside me. This may be the end of the podcast for now, but it is not the end of the work, the love, or the connection between us. The journey continues. I love you. Together, we gently soften habitual tension, reconnect with the aliveness flowing through the heart and body, and rediscover the stillness that holds all experience with tenderness and care. Through mindful attention to sensation, breath, and sound, this meditation invites you to step out of the trance of thinking and return to the fullness of the present moment. As awareness opens, we begin to sense the deep peace, compassion, and belonging that emerge when we say "yes" to life just as it is. What happens when you spend so much time being "reliable" that you forget how to be meaningful?   In this third installment of Reports from the Creative Closet, I'm exploring the "Be Good" trap. We often learn very early that being predictable and agreeable is safer than being fully alive, but that safety comes at a high price.   I discuss the Traffic Rule Covenant—a look at how we use rules to reduce uncertainty, and what happens when we stop treating those rules as tools and start treating them as our identity. We'll explore the "quiet grief" of adulting, the friction of being "manageable" in professional environments, and why your "rough edges" are actually the parts of you the world needs most.   I'm Nancy Norbeck, and I'm your Messy Muse Mentor. I help people feel alive again through creativity, curiosity, and play.   In this episode, I discuss: The Social Survival Instinct: Why we'll do anything to avoid being "thrown out" of the community. The Traffic Light Metaphor: Understanding rules as tools for safety rather than definitions of self. The Reliability Tax: Why professional "manageability" often requires us to override our internal signals. The Adulting Lie: Why being a "grown-up" shouldn't require you to abandon your curiosity and play. If you're tired of thinking about answering a creative call but never actually doing it, come join me for an hour and start feeling like yourself again. Christina comes to us two months out of a month-long holistic retreat where she cracked open in the most profound way. After more than twenty years in corporate, she walked away. She found her purpose in death doula work, holding space for families and those who are transitioning. And now she is standing in the messy middle, sourcing the tendrils of a new life as it is being woven. Her question is one so many of us carry: How do I trust this process when the outside world wants me to keep going and going and producing and proving my worth? What we discover together is that Christina's body doesn't want a to-do list. It doesn't want a plan or a schedule. It wants to be free form for a while and show her where it wants to go. For twenty years, she was speaking someone else's words, building something that belonged to somebody else, ratcheted down in survival mode, locked into the lower chakras of doing and producing. And then she took a hammer to that old structure, and now these tendrils of color and life are blooming out of what she cracked open. Her heart has come online. Her throat and third eye are lighting up. And her system just needs a moment to catch up. This episode is a beautiful invitation to honor all of it: the things we label good and the things we label bad, the things we like about this process but also so potently the things we don't. You can never not be on your path. The detours you take will reveal themselves as exactly what you needed for the moment you are now in. And the very nature of exploration means you are going to go the wrong way, get lost, and find brambles at the end of the trail. That is exploration. As you listen today, I invite you to find that settled place inside you (the one that lives beneath all the noise) and memorize it. Does it have a texture? A sensation? A color? This is your place of knowing. This is where you come back to when you forget what is true. Heather Chauvin is back on the show, and honestly, every conversation with her feels like a masterclass in telling the truth. Heather is a leadership coach who helps successful women live, work, and parent on their own terms, and she practices every single thing she preaches, whether that's kayaking Alaska or snowboarding with her kids. In 2013, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis cracked her life wide open and pushed her to take a deeper stand for change, and she has been helping women do the same ever since. In this conversation, we go deep on identity, decision-making, self-trust, psychedelic therapy, and what it actually means to fight for your own aliveness in a world that is constantly pulling your attention outward. This one is meaty and I can't wait for you to hear it! What you'll hear in this episode:  Resentment is almost always a sign that you've crossed your own boundary, and it points you right back to what matters. Heather likes to say, you're not stuck, you're avoiding a decision–  and her one question cuts right through it. Self-trust is a practice, and you build it with small decisions, not big leaps. Aliveness requires a fight right now, and Heather makes the case that we can't afford to go numb. Psychedelic therapy is a declutter, not a fix, and she breaks down who she sees benefit most. Your human skills (emotional regulation, discernment, critical thinking), are never going out of style. Real self-care is free, and it probably starts with a conversation you've been avoiding. Heather is one of those people who tells the truth so cleanly that you have no choice but to look at your own life differently, and this conversation is no exception. If you've been white-knuckling your way through life wondering why nothing feels like enough, this episode is for you. By choosing integrity, I become more whole, but wholeness does not mean perfection. It means becoming more real by acknowledging the whole of who I am. Identity and integrity are not the granite from which fictional heroes are hewn. They are subtle dimensions of the complex, demanding, and lifelong process of self-discovery.  Identity lies in the intersection of the diverse forces that make up my life, and integrity lies in relating to those forces in ways that bring me wholeness and life rather than fragmentation and death.Parker Palmer, from ‘The Courage to Teach'Photo by Dalelan Anderson on Unsplash   ‍---Join Us Live in 2026Professional Coaching Course, begins July 2-5 2026, OnlineOur year long programme, an opportunity to learn to support others in deep, life giving discovery and development. You can hear us talk about the programme here:www.turningtowards.life/coachingAnd you can read more about it here:www.wearethirdspace.org/professional-coaching-courseTurning Towards Life Live Season 3, from September 2026Our Turning Towards Life live programme of community, learning and reflection runs in six month seasons, in person on Zoom once a month. Welcome to "Thriving in Midlife" The Women's Guide to Wellness, Longevity & Hormones After 40. This is your trusted space to cut through the noise, ditch the overwhelm, and finally feel extraordinary in your body, mind, and life. Are you who are ready to stop pushing through life and start living it with intention, energy, and ease? Then let's get started. I'm your host, Kellie Lupsha, a high-performance health coach, who is delighted to be your guide to vitality. In this episode, I speak candidly and straight from the heart about something so many women over 40 are silently struggling with: postponing their lives. It's not about a lack of motivation or laziness. It's about losing touch with aliveness, that deep, purposeful energy that makes life feel rich, meaningful, and expansive. I share why waiting for the “right time” is quietly costing you your joy, confidence, and future self… and how one aligned decision can begin to reignite everything.Key Highlights:➡️ The real reason you feel stuck isn't laziness, it's disconnection from aliveness.➡️ “Later” is a slow leak draining your energy, joy, and confidence.➡️ Aliveness isn't the same as excitement, it's sustained engagement rooted in purpose.➡️ You don't need to feel ready. Readiness is a myth that keeps you waiting.➡️ Energy doesn't come before action. It follows movement and decision.➡️ Overthinking, people-pleasing, and normalized exhaustion quietly kill your dreams.➡️ One small, aligned step, even if it scares you, can shift your entire trajectory.➡️ Your comfort zone may feel safe, but it's where growth goes to sleep.➡️ High performers don't wait for motivation, they choose how they want to feel.➡️ Choosing aliveness now creates momentum in your confidence, clarity, health, and life expansion. Key Takeaways:“You're not unmotivated. You're not lazy. You're disconnected from aliveness.”-Kellie Lupsha“Stop putting life off. Send us Fan MailIn this solo episode of Queerly Beloved, Wil shares reflections from a recent journey to Costa Rica, where he sat with Grandmother Ayahuasca and received powerful teachings about aliveness. After moving through a season of heaviness, collective grief, personal transition, and emotional numbness, Wil felt called back to the jungle through a series of signs and synchronicities. What unfolded was a deep remembering: that aliveness is not just joy or happiness, but the willingness to feel the full range of human emotion like grief, gratitude, desire, tenderness, fear, sensuality, wonder, and everything in between.Wil explores how the jungle itself became part of the medicine: the river, the organic meals, the nourishing conversations, the singing, the dancing, the screen-free spaciousness, and the daily ritual of swimming naked in the cold flowing water of the Tulärí River. This episode is an invitation to examine where we may be numbing out, where we may have turned down the volume on our own lives, and what it means to return to the body, the heart, and the sacred experience of being fully here. This episode is for anyone who has been feeling numb, disconnected, overwhelmed, or like they are watching their life instead of fully living it.May it serve as a reminder that your aliveness is already within you, waiting to be remembered. You are not here just to just get through your life. You are here to live it.Wil will be returning to the same retreat center in Costa Rica mentioned here to host an Awakened Hearts New Year's Eve Retreat: A Jungle Journey into Connection, Authenticity and Aliveness. This 7-day retreat will be an intimate gathering for GBTQ men to reconnect with their hearts, release old stories and patterns, and step into more authentic and alive ways of being, while being surrounded by the beauty of the Costa Rican jungle. To learn more, visit: https://www.wil-fullyliving.com/awakened-hearts-nyeSupport the show

Melissa is a legal aid lawyer, a nonprofit leader, a mother of two young boys, and a lifelong spiritual seeker. She comes to us today standing at a line drawn in the sand. On one side is the credible, analytical, proven life she's built over fifteen years. On the other is a calling she can no longer ignore: to create a spiritually-focused business that bridges the world of the woo with the grounded, everyday lives of caregivers and mothers. Her soul has gone from tapping gently to rapping loudly on the door. And what's keeping her from stepping across? The fear of exile. The fear that the people she loves most will look at her and think she's lost her mind. We explore the power of projection. How the voices we're most afraid to hear from others are often the very ones already running inside us. As long as Mel believes she might be a little crazy for wanting this, she's going to have a hard time launching anything. So this is where her golden nugget lives. We talk about glide paths and bridges, about how the spirit of a business doesn't need ink on paper to be real, and about bringing wholehearted devotion to something even before it has a name. You don't have to burn it all down in the first step. But you do have to explore like you mean it. The old life dies in devotion to the new one that is being birthed, and you cannot escape that process. Some people will come with you and some people will not. And these places (safety, exile, the fear of being crazy)... they are not obstacles to overcome. They are your allies. They are the very things you need to get you to the next step, and what you learn from them will become rich nourishment for others. As you listen today, I invite you to ask yourself: What line in the sand are you standing at? And what would it look like to stop waiting for the bungee cord to catch you and instead jump because you know you can fly? 3 A's Framework for AlivenessKay discussed the final portion of a series on aliveness, focusing on the “3 A's” framework which includes awareness, acceptance, and agency. She explained how agency represents growth that continues beyond these stages, creating a spiral of ongoing development and self-understanding. Kay mentioned that the podcast, which has over 470 episodes, is approaching its 11th birthday in May and is available on the Substack platform.Agency and Feeling AliveKay discussed the concept of agency and its relationship to feeling alive, explaining how the words “disconnected,” “exhausted,” and “fearful” represent states before having awareness, acceptance, and agency respectively. She outlined the three components of agency as courage, choice, and creativity, using examples like a woodpecker's creative problem-solving and the idea that people always make their best choice at any moment. Kay encouraged listeners to reflect on times when they demonstrated courage, made choices, or acted creatively, emphasizing that these actions are fundamental to experiencing agency and feeling alive.Agency and Control Diagram DiscussionKay discussed the opposite side of a diagram representing missing agency, focusing on feelings of overwhelm, paralysis, and suffering that arise when individuals don't feel in control. She encouraged participants to reflect on when they feel most agency and invited them to use the chart as a tool for self-reflection when facing challenges. Kay shared a personal example of how the diagram helped her during a morning walk, demonstrating how it can provide clarity and guidance in navigating difficult situations.Dynamic Aliveness and Money PerspectivesKay discussed the dynamic nature of aliveness and shared insights from the book “Love Money, Money Loves You,” which describes money as beings that observe and facilitate human requests. Kay noted how people often panic when positive changes begin to happen, thinking they cannot handle the new experiences, but emphasized that they actually can manage these changes. The discussion concluded with an invitation for the audience to use the series for personal growth and experiencing life.Workshop and Community AnnouncementsKay announced plans to offer a workshop on the “3 A's to feel alive” later in spring or summer 2026. She invited listeners to join her Dreamers and Doers community and mentioned that while her one-to-one coaching practice is currently full, interested parties can join a waiting list by responding to a series of questions. Kay emphasized the importance of personalization in learning, encouraging participants to engage with the content in a way that works best for them rather than adhering to a strict structure. Kay then transitioned to discussing the concept of awareness, inviting participants to reflect on its meaning for themselves.Venn Diagram of Aliveness ConceptsKay discussed a Venn diagram about aliveness, explaining that movement through the diagram starts with awareness and then moves to acceptance. She noted that the word “disconnected” was near the awareness circle and “exhausted” was near the acceptance circle, suggesting a connection between being disconnected and lack of awareness, and between exhaustion and acceptance.Radical Acceptance Concepts DiscussionKay discussed the concept of radical acceptance, explaining how it involves allowing circumstances to be as they are rather than trying to control them. She outlined three qualities of acceptance: “own business minding” (practicing appropriate involvement in others' lives), curiosity, and trust.Own Business Minding Concept DiscussionKay discussed the concept of “own business minding,” which involves understanding and accepting one's own truth while letting go of control over others' actions. She emphasized the importance of acceptance over judgment, referencing Walt Whitman's idea that curiosity is better than judgment. Kay encouraged participants to reflect on their own experiences related to these concepts and invited them to share their thoughts via email.Components of Acceptance DiscussionKay discussed the components of acceptance, which include curiosity about someone's experience, open-mindedness, and trust. Kay emphasized that trusting can be challenging due to fears of betrayal or misplacement of trust, but emphasized that acceptance involves embracing reality as it is rather than wishing it to be different.Acceptance and Aliveness ConceptsKay discussed the concept of acceptance as part of a series on aliveness and agency. She encouraged listeners to reflect on how acceptance applies to their own lives and suggested exploring this topic with friends, therapists, or coaches. Kay also introduced a diagram showing the opposites of feelings that help us feel alive, including suspicion, anxiety, and over-control, which can help identify the need for acceptance.Invitations from meCome to the retreat that I'm hosting in SeptemberOr, hear more about itCome be in company with some like-minded soulsConnect with me to talk about coaching or facilitationThank you for being here with meLove, Kay This is a public episode. What happens when the life you've built no longer fits the woman you're becoming? Maggie joins us today on the precipice of one of the biggest decisions of her life: leaving her marriage of nearly twenty years. She loves her husband, she honors the life they've created together, and yet she knows, deep in her bones, that they are no longer matched for her next chapter. What unfolds in our time together is a conversation about what it really means to choose yourself first; not from selfishness, but from devotion. As we go deeper, we explore the energetic equation of unplugging from the institution of marriage and what it looks like to set your own foundation before building something new with someone else. Maggie is feeling the pull toward a new relationship, toward being held and nourished and loved in a way that has been absent for a long time. And rather than making that wrong, we hold space for both truths: the desire for connection and the invitation to root into who she is on her own two feet. We talk about lily pads and stepping stones, about managing your energy as you cross from one chapter to the next, and about the difference between healing and building your energetic foundation. This episode is a beautiful reminder that the things in our lives that contract our soul are being dragged to the surface right now… and if we are willing to turn towards them, to nurture these places, to harvest the goodness from them, we will change our lives in ways that surprise and delight us. As you listen to Maggie's reading, I invite you to consider: Where are you staying plugged into something that no longer serves you? What would it feel like to set your own foundation, to become your own safety net, and to let the next relationship be the whipped cream and the cherry on top? There is so much cultural conversation about pleasure. How to create more of it.How to perform it.How to optimize it.But very little about how to listen for it.In this episode, we explore a quieter, more powerful truth:Pleasure is not something you manufacture. It is something you allow. And something you gently cultivate through presence.Dianne guides you into a new understanding of pleasure as sacred biology — not indulgence, not performance — but information. We explore:The difference between a mental “yes” and a somatic “yes”Why safety — not intensity — is the true doorway to alivenessThe role of dopamine, oxytocin, opioid receptors, and the endocannabinoid system in sensual regulationHow pleasure becomes literacy inside the bodyWhy midlife is not decline… but initiationThis is an invitation to slow down.To track subtle expansion. To honor neutrality. To notice contraction without shame.Because pleasure is the body's yes.And when a woman learns to trust that yes, everything reorganizes. Her boundaries strengthen. Her clarity sharpens. Her radiance steadies.Embodiment is reclamation. And embodiment is revolution.

In this final episode of our grief series, we explore what happens when love, connection, and aliveness begin to return after loss. For highly sensitive people, grief doesn't simply disappear. It moves through the nervous system. It narrows capacity, and it reorganizes attachment. And slowly — often almost imperceptibly — it widens again. In this episode, we explore:How attachment reorganizes after the death of a loved oneWhy the return of joy can feel vulnerable (and sometimes frightening)How grief and aliveness can coexist in the same bodyWhat it means for love to expand rather than disappearHow to stay open in a grieving world without burning outThe role of nervous system regulation in sustaining compassionIf you're wondering whether it's “okay” to feel connection again…If you're noticing small flickers of warmth returning…Or if you're trying to stay open in a world that feels heavy…This episode is a gentle reminder:You don't have to rush expansion, and you don't have to choose between grief and joy. Your nervous system is designed to reorganize. This episode is part of our 3-part series on grief and the nervous system:Grief Lives in the BodyCapacity, Protection & Regulation in GriefLove, Connection & Aliveness After LossIf this series has supported you, please consider sharing it with someone walking through their own season of grief.

We're kicking off our Feminine Embodiment Coaching Certification with a special Orientation Week. → We start 2 March 2026. → You can find all the details here →     Transformation shouldn't only be heavy, painful or vulnerable (if it is you're missing half of the key ingredients).    Many of us treat our bodies as the sum of our hurts. And when we're healed enough, whole enough, THEN we can feel good.    This approach is noble - but it misses the fact that you don't have to be "fully healed" BEFORE you become an alive, pleasure-filled human.    In fact healing is NOT the fastest path to feeling more radiantly alive, most of the time.    Today on our limited series podcast we're talking about aliveness, pleasure & how we can raise the ceiling on how good we (& our clients) can feel when we stop 'fixing' and start cultivating pleasure as power.    This episode is drawn directly from frameworks & teachings in our Feminine Embodiment Coaching Certification - which is kicking off 2nd March with a special Orientation Week.    If you're loving the podcast so far let's chat about the coaching cert & if it's the right fit for you.  Learn more here

We cut off from our aliveness when we are lost in thoughts and on auto pilot. This meditation arouses a receptivity to sensation from "the inside out," opens the awareness to sound, and then invites a full resting in receptive, dynamic presence (from the archives).   Our introduction music is from "Opening" by Adrienne Torf, © 2025 ABT Music
