The His Beloved Catholic Podcast is a gem among podcasts, particularly during this era of social distancing. Hosted by Kendra and Megan, it offers a breath of fresh air to listeners by sharing the word of God in an unpretentious and uplifting manner. From the very beginning, it becomes evident that this podcast is off to a great start, showcasing remarkable stories of how God works in the lives of ordinary people. One aspect that truly stands out is the hosts' desire to create a welcoming space for all individuals, regardless of where they may be on their spiritual journey. As someone who transitioned from being Protestant to Catholic, I deeply resonate with their inclusive approach. I eagerly anticipate each new episode, as I am always left inspired and filled with hope after listening to their stories.
The best aspect of The His Beloved Catholic Podcast lies in the genuine relatability of hosts Kendra and Megan. They effortlessly convey their down-to-earth nature, making listeners feel as though they are sitting right next to them during each episode. Their ability to connect with their audience is truly commendable and sets this podcast apart from many others within the genre. Furthermore, the stories shared on this platform consistently provide a much-needed dose of hope and highlight the transformative power of God's love. In these tumultuous times, we can all benefit from hearing such narratives that remind us that there is still goodness and beauty in the world.
While it pains me to criticize any aspect of this wonderful podcast, one minor drawback could be its relatively short duration. Each episode leaves me yearning for more as I become fully engrossed in the stories being shared. However, considering the high quality and thoughtfulness put into each episode, it is understandable that time constraints may play a role in limiting the length of each installment.
In conclusion, The His Beloved Catholic Podcast is an extraordinary creation that deserves recognition in the realm of faith-based podcasts. Its ability to offer a space of inclusivity and relatability is truly remarkable. Megan and Kendra have established a platform that not only shares the word of God but also inspires and uplifts listeners during these challenging times. This podcast is a testament to the power of hope, love, and the belief that there is goodness in the world. I cannot express enough gratitude for the creation of The His Beloved Catholic Podcast and eagerly await each new episode with anticipation.

Welcome back friends! This week we are taking a break from our typical format and kicking off Lent with a little retreat just for you. We are sharing Megan's talk from a large Catholic youth conference on prayer. The theme of the conference was a quote by St. Augustine that says "Whole prayer is nothing but love." Megan's talk was on the subject of why we pray. The answer is we pray because of who He is. Find a comfy spot and let the words of Jesus wash over you through this episode. Stay all the way to the end for a powerful prayer experience!

James Longoria is back on the podcast! James is the worship leader for our His Beloved retreats and youth minister at a church near us. He was on our podcast way back on episode 28 and you can go back and hear his entire story if you would like. It is powerful! Today he shares a new story with us that took place this summer. James, who has an anointed voice, suddenly lost his voice after becoming ill in April. For months he was unable to sing or even speak without coughing. In the process, he met Jesus in a way that he had never experienced Him before and learned to trust Him with our without the gift that he had been given. Hey there friends! Some terrible illnesses struck our house last week, so we were not able to record a new episode. We decided to share one of our favorites from last year. This was part of our "Find Your Fire" Series. On this episode Megan and Kendra dive deep into Dr. Bob Schutts writings about healing wounds using the movie Encanto. We highly recommend that after you listen to this one, go back and listen to the whole series if you didn't hear it the first time starting on episode #54. Even if you heard this episode last year give it a listen again. The Lord may just surprise you and invite you into a different aspect of healing while you listen. Today we have a little fun with the deep topic of generational wounds and trauma. This is the next episode in our series "Find Your Fire". The movie Encanto has so much to teach us about charisms, gifts, wounding and generational trauma. We know that not everyone loves Disney movies, but the Lord speaks to Megan through Disney movies. If we look at them in the light of the Holy Spirit even Disney can teach us thing or two about the heart of God. We talk about our own struggles, wounds, and how we can over come wounds to live in freedom and fly with the Lord. Today we have Heather Murphy, the Development Director of Couple to Couple League. She shares with us a new initiative that CTCL has for women during Lent. We were blown away, by what she shared. This program would be fantastic for all teens and young adult women. It could also be helpful for any woman who is struggling month to month with her cycle. Couple to Couple League, the premier provider of Natural Family Planning resources just launched Revelation90, a 90 day course where women take a deep dive into their wellness habits to reveal their healthiest, happiest selves. Drawing on the expertise of program partners SoulCore and Temple+Table, Revelation90 provides a holistic answer to the persistent health problems that women face today. The inaugural Revelation90 challenge will kick off on Ash Wednesday, February 14, and end 90 days later on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13. Katie Zulanas, Executive Director of Couple to Couple League, says Revelation90 is the answer to a problem that the Couple to Couple League has observed for years. “Working with hundreds of thousands of women in helping them learn about and understand their fertility, we have unfortunately seen a disturbing trend of cycles becoming more irregular,” Zulanas said. “A woman's cycle is an extremely accurate indicator of overall health. Revelation90 will not only give you great insight into your health, it will give you the tools needed to design a happier, healthier, smarter lifestyle.” To register or get more info about Revelation 90 visit www.revelation90.org Our listeners (and friends and family) can use "beloved90" to get 50% off the Revelation90 program! Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Our God is mighty and tender. We've been on this journey of discovering this two-fold mystery and today on the podcast we will go even deeper. We journey through the Old Testament history of the unblemished lamb and Passover for the Israelite people and Jesus' once and for all fulfillment of that sacrifice. Then we enter into the mystery of Jesus as the Lion. What does it look like for Him to be the Lion over our lives AND also how does He desire to partner with us as the Lion? Remember, He's good! Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Luke 10:19 “Behold I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall hurt you.” Phil. 1:28 “Do not be intimidated in any way by your enemies.” 1 John 4:4 “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:18 “perfect love drives out fear” God is love Romans 5:3-5 “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Psalm 32:7 “God surrounds me with songs of deliverance.” Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” CCC 2111 “To attribute the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.” 1 John 5:18 “We are born in God and the evil one cannot touch you!” Ephesians 6 Psalm 91 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/support

What an incredible gift from our Abba Father to be so deeply longed for, that He would allow us to physically be one with Him……every day! The truth of His presence in the Eucharist goes all the way back into the Old Testament where God laid the foundation through numerous “types” or prefigurements, and Jesus as the Bread of Life in the New Testament actually fulfills these Old Testament types. I am the way, the truth and the life you access this room through Me. You know the fathers heart because you know me. I will never leave you alone. I am yours and you are mine. I am in you and you are in me. You will see me in that silent place in your heart. You know me and you will hear my voice. I am giving you the spirit to give you comfort, council and my love. You do not need to fear or worry you have everything that you need with my love and my spirit. You can rest and be still in the spirit. Song of Songs The Bridegroom-King 7 Every part of you is so beautiful, my darling. Perfect is your beauty, without flaw within. 8 Now you are ready, my bride, to come with me as we climb the highest peaks together. Come with me through the archway of trust. We will look down from the crest of the glistening mounts and from the summit of our sublime sanctuary, from the lion's den and the leopard's lair. 9 For you reach into my heart. With one flash of your eyes I am undone by your love, my beloved, my equal, my bride. You leave me breathless—I am overcome by merely a glance from your worshiping eyes, for you have stolen my heart. I am held hostage by your love and by the graces of righteousness shining upon you. 10 How satisfying to me, my equal, my bride. Your love is my finest wine—intoxicating and thrilling. We LOVE the season of Advent!! As you prepare the house, hang the lights, plan the trip, PREPARE YOUR HEART as well for His coming Join us on the His Beloved podcast for a journey into the heart of Jesus with our Names of Jesus series and devotional. On this episode we share our hearts for how God called us to write this devotional and what how it will work for the next few weeks. Each week we will explore two names of Jesus. We have times to experience Jesus in scripture, through story telling on the podcast and through special prayer encounters. Have you ever wondered how to have a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus? Or have you thought, "I know God speaks to other people, but I just don't hear Him?" This journal walks you step by step through how to have a deep, intimate relationship with Jesus using the Holy names of Jesus from scripture. Episodes will be released twice a week during Advent with teaching and content related to each name of Jesus. This guide will have a daily devotional that you can follow along with on the days that we do not have episodes. The journal can be purchased for just $10 on our website www.hisbelovedoftexas.com. It will immediately be sent to you and you can download and print it anywhere that you would like. Take it to an office store for binding if that is an easier way for you to use it. We are ready to Encounter Jesus this Advent with you! If you already have an Advent study that you are planning to do please stick around and listen to the episodes. They can be stand alone topics and you don't need to do the devotional to hear from God over the next couple of weeks. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/support
Kendra's husband, Chris Bartlett, is back on the podcast today. We have had several episodes with Chris over the years. He has over 20 years of youth ministry experience in the Catholic Church and is currently the Vice President of Ablaze Ministries. Ablaze Ministries trains and empowers youth ministers across the country in their mission with the teens of their parish. In this conversation Chris shares with us our call as Catholics to share the gospel to people around us and invite them into relationship with Christ and His Church. He tells us an amazing story of when God invited Him to be vulnerable with a man in a mosh pit at a punk concert. He gives us tips of how to be on mission where we live, work and play. It turns out that it doesn't take a lot of programming or training. The most powerful way to evangelize is to live the faith and love people around you. I think we can all do that, don't you? This week we sit down with Deacon Ralph Poyo and dive into evangelization in the church. He is the founder of New Evangelization Ministries. Many times when we hear the word evangelization we immediately go to programming, events, books, etc. Deacon Ralph is a fresh voice in our church today, challenging this norm with out of the box thinking. He is preaching and coaching the faithful to stretch themselves into discipleship in the day to day. Deacon Ralph does this for a living y'all! Let's get equipped together to further the kingdom! https://nem.training/ With New Evangelization Ministries, Deacon Ralph seeks to help parishes become agents of self-evangelization, so that the first fruits of their catechetical programs is that of putting their parishioners “not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ…” (Pope John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae, para. 5). His methods of evangelization model the personal, one-on-one style of Our Lord; Jesus preached to the multitude, but focused even more time and energy on “the Twelve,” preparing them to spearhead the ministry of evangelization after His passing. Armed with this knowledge and over twenty years of experience, Deacon Ralph is being sent to teach others how to become evangelists – how to bring others to Jesus and then get out of the way! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/support
On this episode we got to visit with one of Megan's good friends, Jessica Konzen. For a long time now Megan would tell me “you have to meet Jessica! You will just love her!” And she was right! Y'all, Jessica is the coolest. Not only is she in the know for the coming fashion trends (newsflash, RED), she is a firecracker for Jesus and lives her life radically and authentically for Him. She's a pastor at a local evangelical protestant church who has a beautiful story of how God made beauty from the ashes of her life. Once she met the lover of her soul there was no turning back. Though she does not share the same Catholic faith as us, she shares the same deep love for the Lord and we all can learn so much from our Protestant brothers and sisters! In this episode, Megan and Kendra dive into the gift of friendship. Jesus had friends! He had his super close circle of 3, his close circle of 12, and then a bigger group of friends extending from that. Jesus wants YOU to experience deep friendship too. The friendship that Megan and Kendra share was an answer to years of prayer for that super close inner circle, ride or die type of friendship. How do you go deep? How do you allow others in? How do you “do” friendship well? How do you have the hard conversations? We talk about times in our lives where we had to fight for one another in prayer, how we have had to be there to hold the other up when everything felt like it was falling apart, and how you can find Kingdom friendships like ours. We hope you enjoy this episode! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hisbelovedoftexas/support
In the first part of this episode we are sharing Kendra‘s talk from the “Draw Near” women's conference that His Beloved put on in September. It was a day filled with such grace and the intentional pursuit of the Father's heart over each and every woman. In this talk given by Kendra, she dives into intimacy with the living God. What does it look like to surrender, and the beautiful fruit that comes when we allow him to fully see the very depths of our hearts, while simultaneously inviting us into the very depths of His own. Then the second part of the episode is Megan's brief talk about the Hemorrhaging woman that led us into Eucharistic adoration. It was powerful y'all! Hey there Beloveds! This week will look a little different on the His Beloved Podcast. We put on a retreat a couple of weeks ago about intimacy with God and we felt like you might like to hear those talks. This week is Megan's talk called "Who is He To You?" Megan dives into intimacy with Jesus and who He is to her. We spend a lot of time talking about our identity in Christ. Who are we to Him? For this talk we focus on His identity. Who is He to us? He will be different to everyone. He is the Lion and the Lamb, fierce and gentle, healer, lover, etc. the list could go on and on. We invite you to think about who you see Jesus as. Is He close to your heart? Draw near with Him as you listen to this episode. At the end there is a prayer experience. You can hit pause and join us in that prayer or come back to it later when you have time. Megan accidentally called the prayer the Emmaus prayer, but it actually the Immanuel prayer. Here is the prayer: Jesus remind me of times that I have experienced your presence in special ways. Holy Spirit please bring these memories of special connection. Lord please make yourself apparent to me. Let me see you and remember these moments. Refresh my memory of your presence and reestablish a living, interactive connection, right here and now. Haley Riney is back!!! If you have listened to last week's episode check that one out first. At the end of the part one episode with Haley we just knew we had to get her in the studio again. So. Many. Thoughts. The Lord parted the seas and we were able to connect with her while she was “on location for Jesus”. The three of us came into this episode completely empty handed and asked Holy Spirit for direction, and as usual, Holy Spirit rocked it. Haley shared more of her healing journey after her divorce and the powerful (yet brave) prayer that started it all. We dive deep into healing and how the Lord desires freedom for all of us. We could have kept recording for another hour but all good things must come to an end….in this case because Tessa needed her lunch. Oh, y'all, Haley is a gift and a flame of honesty, inspiration, truth, knowledge, and freedom and we are so blessed to call her kingdom family. Stay tuned for an episode 3 to come with Haley. The Lord is not through with her message for us yet. Sometimes when we're recording, the content feels like it was specifically for our hearts to hear, and that's exactly what happened with this episode with Haley Riney. If you only knew how many notes I took while we were recording! Haley and Kendra met at the Encounter conference in December of 2023 and immediately she thought two things….1) She is my people! 2) Megan will love her! Haley lives a life of radical dependence on the Father, not in a grasping for breath kind of way, but knowing that every breath comes from the Father and she just wants to live in total union with Him. She shares her story of how the Lord made beauty from ashes and in her “YES!” to Him she's gone on the most incredible adventure to places she never thought she would. Literally y'all. Do you ever have those moments when you are listening to a dynamic speaker and wonder “what are they like in real life?” On this episode we get a glimpse into the authentic world of Catholic speaker, minister, and podcast host, Ryan O'Hara. Ryan's life took a pivot in college when he had his conversion, and has been working with youth, and young adults, furthering the kingdom on earth ever since. In this delightful conversation we talk about what it looks like to live an authentic Christian life, not by specifically speaking of strategies per say, but just by hearing how Ryan and his wife live their life fully and sacrificially, seeking God‘s plan and running! Hey friends! Today we are sharing with you an episode of Sunday Stories for Catholic Kids. Gather your fam and listen to this on your way to Mass this weekend. Today we get to talk about my absolute favorite… the Holy Spirit. Can you imagine a church where kids know the depth of the Holy Spirit? What if they knew who and what they are receiving at Baptism and Confirmation? If they understand the power, gifts and fruits that live within them? Our church needs this! We need to know the third person of the Trinity. So today on Sunday Stories we are diving into the Holy Spirit. Let's go!
