At the end of the day, we are never our own masters: we are either children of God and "slaves of righteousness", or slaves of sin and the Devil. While many of us in the Church are preaching an important message of God's mercy and seeking to address issues of unhealthy shame and guilt, we sometimes overlook or play down this simple reality of our sins and their power to enslave us. Mary Bielski rejoins our hosts in this episode of our Inner Healing Series to talk about the detrimental impact of sin in our lives and God's call for us to repent. Even faithful Catholics can remain bound in certain habits of sin (resulting in stagnation, emptiness and mediocrity); but God's power frees us, for it is "God's kindness [that] leads you to repentence" (Romans 2:4).

Here is the video Mary shows during the talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEiSF8HpyDg Discussion Questions:     You have a royal inheritance as a child of God, the King of Kings. What does this mean to you? We have authority as daughters of the King. How can you begin to walk in this authority in the way you act and pray? The orphan spirit can keep us from experiencing the inheritance that God has for us because we aren’t ready for it. In what areas does God desire you to grow in maturity so that you can receive His inheritance? Journal Questions: How can you pray with more authority? How do you need to grow in self care so that you are filled up and can offer more to those God has entrusted to you? Where do you need to give God your fiat? Quote to Ponder: “The message of the gospel isn’t about just getting into heaven, its about heaven getting into us” - Mary Bielski
