The upcoming choral production Radiant Dawn promises a transcendent musical experience, showcasing sacred works that span five centuries, from the Renaissance to the 20th century. Set to be performed by the KL Madrigal Singers and Players, we find out what's in store from Scott Woo, a tenor and the Director of the group, and together we're going to explore how these sacred traditions, through composers like Tallis, Byrd, Bach, and Poulenc, come alive to illuminate the journey of faith, culture, and artistry.
In this episode, Tyler and Brandon cover late-season elk hunting, announce the Radiant Dawn conference, and address tough questions on sexuality and post-betrayal recovery. They explore topics such as arousal templates, marriage challenges, and the complexity of leaving a relationship for personal satisfaction. // SUBMIT YOUR QUESTION // We would love to answer any questions you have about addiction, trauma, recovery, healing, and anything you can think of. We also have a quick chat about the Interim CYL results as we wait for the Anniversary FEH Channel in the next couple of weeks.
Is this the big trade we've been waiting for? Matthew declares it's only the beginning while drinking his Zen Rum-ble. December 21O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice:come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in theshadow of death. The Roman Church has been singing the "O" Antiphons since at least the eighth century. They are the antiphons that accompany the Magnificat canticle of Evening Prayer from December 17-23. They are a magnificent theology that uses ancient biblical imagery drawn from the messianic hopes of the Old Testament to proclaim the coming Christ as the fulfillment not only of Old Testament hopes, but present ones as well. Their repeated use of the imperative "Come!" embodies the longing of all for the Divine Messiah.-----------------------------------To learn about the ministries and office of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, visit us online at archgh.org.FacebookInstagramYouTube
This week we return with a quick episode covering the new Ninja banner with Radiant Dawn and Fates Heroes. We also ramble into a short tangent discussing the story for Book VII and where it is at right before it comes to a close next week.
It's time for us to continue our run-through on the Fire Emblem series and this time we're hitting two games in one. Path of Radiance is coveted as one of the best (if not the best) Fire Emblem and it super sucks that it's system-locked (looking at you Intelligent Systems). It's hard to pin down a singular reason as to why this game was so successful (deep characters, rich lore, and a lot of unique systems). Thankfully, ActualLizard and Professor Bopper are back again to help tag team what makes this duo so special. Oh, and Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn is the best Fire Emblem duology. There. I said it. Come at me. *Footage from @ProfessorBopper Thanks buddy! *Whitty commentary from @actuallizard

Season 17, Episode 10: Weekly Roundup As Cavedan gears up for local RCQs in Modern & Pioneer, he faces challenges of deck selection, rust, and general tournament preparedness. Izzet Phoenix is his weapon of choice in Pioneer, but what about Modern? Luckily Morde is here to help. After that, the crew looks at the best of the March of the Machines previews from last week's Pro Tour stream. Yuta Takahashi's World Champion card has the right skills for eternal formats, but there are also some cheekier possibilities for silly legend team-ups like Yargle and Multani and Ghalta and Mavren. Pick up your Cragganwick Cremators and Sorin, Imperious Bloodlords just in case. We round things out with two spectacular brews that have found success in the highest levels of Modern competition. Graaz for Treasure inserts an unlikely payoff into the artifact reanimator shell, with Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut functioning as a Craterhoof Behemoth for your team. Shining Shoal Humans embraces the pitch spell mentality in a white weenie deck, perfectly tuned to flip a red-heavy Modern meta on its head. Both decks dominated in Modern Challenges over the weekend, showing once again that you don't have to choose between playing a brew and making day two! Like our content? O Oriens: O Radiant Dawn. What does it mean that Jesus is the Sunrise? O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come, shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death. Isaiah prophesied, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shown" (Isaiah 9:1). Thank you to my newest Friends of the Show, Michele VW; Theresa VP; Jake T; and Elizabeth B, for loving and lifting me! Friends of the Show get all Premium Content! LOVE the Word® is a Bible study method based on Mary's own practice: lectio without the Latin. Get the book based on Sonja's method in the right margin, How to Pray Like Mary. L - Listen (Receive the Word via audio or video.) O - Observe (Connect the passage to your life and recent events.) As I mentioned in the show, 2020 has been a "pop quiz" year. We seem to be living the liturgical year in a deeply experiential way. Advent, for instance, is about waiting for the light of Christ, with hope. In what circumstance do you need light and hope? Do you have a daily Scripture habit to give you a measure of light and hope every morning? V - Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.) Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin. E - Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!) O Radiant Dawn, our hearts await you in the cold, wintery darkness. Our hope wanes late in the year with the light of the sun. Our souls yearn and stretch toward your coming. Give us your daily light in the Word; give us the hope of our salvation; come to us and show us the strength of your arm; let the light of your face shine on us, and we shall be saved. Amen + O Oriens, by the Dominican student brothers at Blackfriars in Oxford singing the Latin plainchant: These are the traditional “O Antiphons” associated with each night to which they are assigned. Each one addresses Christ by a different title, based upon the Messianic prophesies in the Book of Isaiah. Most people are familiar with these titles from the hymn, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, which is based upon the O Antiphons: Dec 17: O Sapientia (O Wisdom), Dec 18: O Adonai (O Lord), Dec 19: O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse), Dec 20: O Clavis David (O Key of David), Dec 21: O Oriens (O Rising Sun), Dec 22: O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations), and Dec 23: O Emmanuel The first letter of each Messianic title, read from Dec. 23 backwards, spells “ero cras,” or “Tomorrow, I come,” which is fitting, since the next night is the Christmas Vigil. Dan Boeckner and Devojka are members of the band Operators – and they’re also life partners. They join Ronan – along with Field Trip’s Chief Psychologist Dr. Dominique Morisano – to talk music, revelations from pandemic life, and using psilocybin to deal with anxiety. Then, Dan details what it’s like to feel interconnected through the dissolution of self – and how to apply trips to our communal experience. Plus, Devojka talks about being a product of the D.A.R.E program and her first trip – or lack thereof. And Dr. Dominique encourages us to accept the trip that you need – not the one that you want.Show Notes:The lines between work life and home life have been erased by the pandemic and has forced many to be a more consistent self (1:25)Devokja discusses how the pandemic gave her immense relief. She was deeply depressed beforehand, and found some relief – as others around her were also forced to slow down (3:20)Dr. Dominique talks about how the pandemic has shifted her practice and the increased demand of patients looking for professional counselling (7:00)Ronan talks about how he prefers to microdose – and his experience of reliving a childhood memory during a heroic dose last year (10:00)Dan talks about his first experiences with psychedelics – including ‘dirty biker acid’ – starting at the age of 15. Growing up in a small community on Vancouver island – Dan acknowledges the desire to ‘travel without travelling’ and a ‘need to escape’ drove this behaviour (13:17)Dan and Devokja talk about their recent psilocybin trip. While observing bugs on a log, Dan realizes ‘it’s their house, man’.(15:34)Dr. Dominique discusses typical themes she’s seen – and how patients using psychedelic-assisted therapy can yield profound personal impacts. And consider that it’s also a connected experience – not necessarily an individual one. Plus she encourages us to look for opportunities to integrate personal realizations (16:50)Dan talks about their latest album ‘Radiant Dawn’ and working closely with Devojka on the record was a unique experience. For him, the act of performing on stage, gives him emotional catharsis. On psychedelics, he feels interconnected and can process facts that are exposed to him. A fantastical wonder. (21:20)Devojka talks about being a product of the D.A.R.E program and her first trip – or lack thereof. (24:30)Dan talks about the appeal of psychedelics, and Devojka talks about how her point of view on psychedelics started to shift with microdosing (28:10)Dr. Dominique encourages us to accept the trip that you need – not the one that you want. And understand that no one experience will be the same as the next. Her advice: trust, let go, and walk towards it. Set and setting are very important (34:36)Dan talks about his trip from a few days prior – where he realized that the psychedelic renaissance needs to be contextualized historically (36:40)Ronan asks who do Dan and Devojka think could use a good trip – and Ronan suggests their next album title (42:20)

We like Ike? Well, Nick definitely does. Greg tries (and fails) to stop Nick from gushing over Path of Radiance, and continuing an annual tradition, they mock the naysayers of the fan-beloved Radiant Dawn…and the voice acting. GOLDOA WILL NOT MOVE.

Join Arnaldo and Paul as they follow the rise, and fall, and rise again of the Great Lord of SRPG video games, Fire Emblem! The guys start off talking about the core gameplay mechanics of the series and the key minds behind it (amid some horribly dated Toronto Raptors references) before moving on to the Famicom Fire Emblem games (24:00). After the break we get into the Super Famicom era and the amusing way Thracia 776 compares to Final Fantasy XV (34:00). This is followed by lawsuits, the aborted Fire Emblem 64, and the Gameboy Advance entries in the series (54:30). The not-so triumphant return to consoles with Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn is next followed by the series on life support with the Nintendo DS entries (1:06:00). However, the series is resurrected by the masterpiece, Fire Emblem: Awakening, followed by Fates and Echoes (1:28:00). And we can't finish up this show without taking a trip on the hype train for Three Houses! (2:03:00) So many games!
