The host highlights key reasons why clarity matters: Self-Assurance: Clarity fosters confidence and self-belief, which are crucial for achieving personal goals and success. Organized Prioritization: Understanding your values in various life aspects enables efficient energy allocation, reducing time wasted on non-value activities. Self-awareness: Clarity enhances self-awareness, allowing individuals to focus on thoughts, emotions, and actions, leading to accountability and informed decision-making. Better Decision Making: The podcast explores Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, illustrating how clarity on one's current level aids in making smart choices aligned with personal growth. Additionally, the episode discusses the intriguing concept that imagining the future can work against us due to the amygdala's role. The amygdala, a survival mechanism, responds to fear and stress, potentially hindering the pursuit of goals. The prefrontal cortex, however, serves as a counterbalance, lighting up when imagining a compelling future. Growth isn't always fun nor easy. " I didn't know there would be trouble along the way, nobody told me nothing, NOTHING." Elders did say life was hard but I guess they couldn't articulate the depth of challenging it would actually be. Trying to be a person of change and learning to evolve through the storm, I'm not always happy, grateful, optimistic, and full of giddy. Sometimes I do cry for days. The only difference between the old me and the new me is self-compassion and love. I very rarely indulge in negative self-talk. I've learned to self-soothe, free my emotions and nurture myself in a way nobody else can. After living a life of needing a lot of external validation, I realized how horrible it felt when the ones I relied on for validation no longer validated me or would hurt me in a way I couldn't stomach. So I made my peace and validation come from me and myself. This way I wouldn't be devasted when people didn't meet my expectations. This episode isn't to coach you, but to give you a glimpse of someone who is on a personal development journey and experiencing growing pains presently. You don't have to be perfect, you have to be authentic and I hope you all can find a sense of relief in your own life, realizing you're not alone. Our paths may be different but growth is growth and we all are going to have to deal with the mess at some point. Self-awareness is an important part of our personal development. It creates a different world for you. Yes, we all make mistakes, but if we don't take time to reflect on what has happened, we will make the same mistakes over and over again. The more we can reflect on our values, beliefs, and feelings, the more aligned we can be in our daily experiences. Self-awareness will have you being conscious about what works and doesn't work for you as you evolve. There is nothing more empowering than knowing yourself fully! Sometimes we are so chunked up with our standards. Meaning we are holding ourselves to impossibly high standards, so broad and far-fetched, that it's damaging to our self-worth and makes it hard to successfully live up to them, thus creating an unhappiness with life. In this episode, I will be talking about why self-awareness is essential, how it can help in your relationships, and ways to develop self-awareness regularly. The more we can step away from negative thinking, the more we can start living more fully in the present moment with less stress. Not because we tricked ourselves to be happy or avoided something, but because we are living in alignment with our standards and values. You know that feeling you get when you're working on a project, and it's going well—but then suddenly, you have a moment of panic that maybe you don't deserve to be doing what you're doing? That's imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is a phenomenon in which people feel like they're frauds, or that they don't deserve the success they've achieved. They attribute their accomplishments to luck, timing, or other external factors, rather than their own efforts. It's something lots of people experience, and it can happen to anyone at any time. The good news is that there are steps we can take to help us deal with the feelings it causes us. But imposter syndrome can also be dangerous when it causes people to hide their accomplishments and not ask for help when they need it. That's why we need self-awareness: so we know when we're feeling like an imposter and can address those feelings head-on. Self-awareness is a way to work through imposter syndrome. It means being aware of our own thoughts and feelings, as well as the motivations behind them. It helps us recognize when we're feeling anxious or insecure, so we can take steps toward addressing those feelings instead of letting them spiral out of control. Mindfulness is another way to work through imposter syndrome. Mindfulness means being in touch with our surroundings and ourselves in a nonjudgmental way. It helps us focus on what's happening right now rather than worrying about what might happen later or dwelling on things from the past. We need mindfulness because it'll be easy for us to get lost in our thoughts about the past or future and miss what's happening right now! Here are some tips: -Be aware of your thoughts -Notice when negative thoughts come up -Label them as "just thoughts" or "just an opinion" instead of taking them as truth -Take time to meditate or do something relaxing when those negative thoughts come up For more content, follow me on my other platform using this link: https://linktr.ee/Jermination Working on your mindset? Learn to slow down, take a breath and focus on what's most important in your life. We all want to be the best version of ourselves, but sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget to stop and appreciate what's really important. Take some time to relax, reflect and make changes that will positively impact your life. In this episode, we're going to talk about the theme for 2023, stress, anxiety, and mindfulness. Rest -I think we all know the feeling of being so busy that you feel like you're constantly running in place. We often use the word "rest" as a synonym for sleep, but it's important to remember that we need more than just sleep to feel well-rested—we also need downtime. Stress -We all have stressors in our lives, but sometimes they build up and overwhelm us. If you're experiencing high levels of stress, try these tips: take deep breaths, exercise, meditate, or spend time with friends. Slow & Steady -Slow and steady wins the race! This saying holds true for many aspects of life, including business. When it comes to growing your business, don't worry about going fast—focus on doing things right and making sure that every step is taken carefully and purposefully. Mindfulness -When was the last time you took a moment to be mindful? Mindfulness is all about focusing on what's happening right now without judgment or distraction from your thoughts or external stimuli. Mindfulness can be practiced in many different ways—for example by taking slow deep breaths or focusing on an object for a set period of time. In the end, I'll be motivating you to prioritize your health because stress is a "silent killer," but it's a loud effect on our mind, body & soul. You can use this tool to create a major shift in your energy within minutes. If you're dealing with stress, overwhelm, burnout, or anything else you can think of, you can use EFT. You'll get rapid results. According to Mayo Clinic, eft is an evidence based practice that combines exposure and cognitive therapies with a manual stimulation of acupuncture points. There are 12 meridian points that are tapped on with your fingertips in each round. These meridian points are also connected to parts inside your body such as the small intestines, large intestines and others. Someone needs to hear this message today. During struggling times, we think we are the only ones dealing with hardships. You aren't alone struggling, EVER. Someone has been through what you're going through even though they react differently to them. Challenges are apart of life. Let's continue to fight to try. Fight the urge of staying in a self that's not working for you anymore. Be NEW. P.S. This episode remembers 9/11/2001, the day there was a terrorist attack against the twin towers and the pentagon. Many heroes died on this day 20 years ago and I thank them for being so selfless. Shows me how strong and resilient we are as humans. Mistakes can only be learned from not relived to do that moment over. It's gone. Anticipation can only cause me to put in the work to get what I want or worry about what I don't have yet. It hasn't happened. The now is all I have and using my mind as a tool to get what I need done and putting it away when I don't need it. Meaning, my thoughts don't always need to be constructive.
