In this episode of Leadership is Feminine, Kris Plachy invites us to explore the transformative power of belief and the role it plays in achieving our goals. Kris challenges us to rethink the foundational beliefs that shape our actions. She unpacks why we often struggle to achieve what we genuinely want and explains how shifting our mindset can open doors to growth and fulfillment. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Henry Cloud's book Necessary Endings, Kris examines the art of letting go. She likens this to pruning a rose bush, where cutting back is necessary to allow the healthiest growth and new possibilities to emerge. This serves as a reminder that releasing what no longer serves us can create space for new possibilities. Kris also expands on the idea of ‘purging,' encouraging leaders to apply this principle across their lives and businesses. Whether it's clients, vendors, technology tools, relationships, or team members, she emphasizes the importance of evaluating what aligns with our purpose and letting go of what doesn't. “All that fear that you had that it would be terrible, fueled you keeping someone in your business. When the truth is, releasing them is going to create so much space and freedom for them, too,” Kris reminds us. This episode is a call to action for leaders who are ready to eliminate the elements holding them back and to invest their energy into what truly matters. Are you ready to challenge your beliefs, release what's no longer serving you, and step into a new version of yourself? Tune in and discover how these practices can revolutionize your life and leadership journey. In this episode, Roane and Ben dive deep into the moment many encounter—the realization that they've "hit the wall." This wall represents the accumulation of unhealthy coping mechanisms and unmet desires, often rooted in a lack of guidance around relationships and sexuality. The conversation explores what to do when life makes you aware of the damage, whether through personal reflection or external confrontation. Ben and Roane discuss the fork in the road that follows this painful awareness: staying stuck in destructive patterns or choosing the difficult but rewarding path of growth. They share personal insights and hard truths about the cost of ignoring these moments—financially, emotionally, and relationally. The episode also touches on the unfolding nature of awareness, how it brings clarity and truth, and why choosing growth can lead to a fuller, more honest life. This candid and transformative conversation is for those who find themselves at a crossroads, seeking guidance and hope in the face of life's hard truths. To learn more about the Sex, God, & Chaos team, click the link below: www.sexgodchaos.com Looking for help? Experiencing growing pains is a universal aspect of life—those moments where we find ourselves navigating uncharted territories, learning to operate in a different way. Kristin shares a story that resonates with the spirit of every kingdom podcaster, offering a perspective on embracing growth. Picture this: You're in the midst of growth, and suddenly, panic sets in. It's that instinctual reaction when faced with a new situation, a challenge, or a shift in the familiar. The natural response is to seek a way out, to escape the discomfort. But what if, instead of fleeing, we learn to breathe through the growth process? When we find ourselves sitting in that space of discomfort, it's an opportunity to recognize that this is where the real transformation happens. Trusting God in the midst of the unknown allows us to breathe, breaking free from the instinct to enter a state of fight or flight. As kingdom podcasters, we are not exempt from the trials of growth. We, too, face moments of uncertainty and discomfort. But let's encourage one another to breathe through it, to embrace the process, and to find solace in the truth that God is intricately woven into every step of our journey. Quotes from Today's Episode: “There are times when we will be uncomfortably pushed” “Trust that God is in the process” “We get to become comfortable with the uncomfortable” “The end result is going to be growth” Are you looking for guidance? This week on the Arrive at Happy Show, Tia discusses the importance of happiness and well-being in the workplace and personal lives, sharing personal and professional reasons for advocating for happiness at work and highlighting the role of leaders in creating a positive work environment. Learn about the 'Arrive at Happy' Growth Process, a three-step process for organizations to prioritize happiness and well-being, leading to higher performance and happier customers. Key Points: Spending a significant amount of time working makes well-being the responsibility of both individuals and organizations. Leaders can have a profound impact on the happiness and well-being of their teams and should prioritize creating a positive work environment. Many leaders are disengaged and fail to create happy workplaces, leading to negative effects on employees' well-being. The 'Arrive at Happy' Growth Process focuses on helping leaders prioritize their own happiness, increase happiness in their teams, and create thriving organizations. A focus on well-being and happiness leads to happier customers, increased revenue, market share, and profits. The research from esteemed institutions like Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford supports the positive impact of well-being on business results. Quotes: • "Our well-being is the responsibility of ourselves and the organization that we work with." • "Driving results and culture are both important in leadership." • "Creating happy leaders and high-performing teams leads to happier customers and desired business results." • "It is possible to have a great place to work where people and organizations are thriving." Fearfully and Wonderfully Me: Inspiring Women to Discover and Develop the Leader Within
What does it look like to actually create growth in our lives? Here's how we can be intentional about developing ourselves.
Patrick Campbell's story is fascinating. From rural Wisconsin to the NSA and then bootstrapping a tech company to a recent $200m sale. Sounds crazy until you learn how his mind works and the sharp business intellect that's feeding success. In a world of social media influencers and industry commentator journalists, we can easily listen to conflicted advice. The truth isn't a dominant voice, so it gets lost. So today, you can hear first-hand from someone who has grown a business from scratch and all the ways they did it. What worked, what didn't. What is timeless, evergreen sage advice. And what wouldn't work as effectively today. And the TL:DR version of this episode is - if you adopted Patrick's business mindset, you'd save a large degree of wasted effort. One of the most important points we touch, is the dangers of buying into a playbook that's worked for another firm and trying to apply it without considering context. And the whole conversation weaves throughout the history of his business, from the genesis of Price Intelligently > Profitwell > Paddle. And all the things the team did to grow it in the early days. Versus how it ticks along today. Included is: - how he thinks - how he approaches growth strategy that works. His growth mindset approach to marketing - how he sits on $24bn/year of data from subscription businesses, and can tap into that accurate sample to base what he says in this talk with fact - not opinion - churn - is it only bound by macro brand factors or is it more complex than that? - how to choose the right marketing freelancers or vendors - and how to assemble an effective team - the dangers of playbooks and 'copy/paste' marketing - the best ratio of planning to execution - how he approaches which channels to use for growth. How it's changed over time and his current advice - the difference between content marketing verses content creation - attribution - measuring the right things with your marketing spend - decision-making & hierarchies - competitive intelligence - first-principal thinking - quilting Wait what? Hey Amiga, welcome to this episode of The Fearless Mujer! Today I'm diving into the truth about growth mindset and what it really means, and I'm also diving into what confidence really is. If you have ever felt that you were a failure, or questioned if there was really any point to doing something, and you didn't allow yourself to think outside the box, or maybe you aren't flexible and only see things from one angle? If that's you, you might be seeing things from a fixed mindset. Those who have a growth mindset are concerned with what they can learn from a situation. The process of learning brings joy to those who are focused on growing, even if that means being uncomfortable. So many women want to elevate, but sadly aren't willing to do what's necessary to get there. Elevating to a new level will require you to step out of your comfort zone and go through a process, that's not always pretty. When you focus on growing there is no room for comparison.Make sure to share this episode with your Amigas!Let's keep the conversation going! Happy New Year! In this episode we begin to conjure our vision for this year, allowing ourselves to step into the new and to release what we do not wish to carry forward. Together, we consider how we desire to feel as we exit 2021 in order to create clarity on what intentions we desire to plant from a place of heart rather than our egos. As we look ahead, we consider what expectations we have of ourselves, our families, and our lives and what may rest underneath of our desires. We flesh out what we truly wish for ourselves versus what we have been conditioned to strive for. We reflect on our relationship to and with change and how we can meet ourselves in each moment we find ourselves, rather than resisting or avoiding wherever it is we are. Ultimately, there is no magical switch that makes this year any different from the last. We recognize that it is up to us to hold ourselves accountable to our vision, intentionally move through each day we are graced with, and align our energy, thoughts, and behaviors with the vision we are working to create.
