The Rich Black Mom highlights her journey towards building a legacy and living a rich (your most authentic) life. It explores her lifestyle, debt free journey, money, and single motherhood. WIthin 12 months Somi has increased her income by over 100% and paid off ~$42k in debt. This is just the beginning for her and her kids living a life full of abundance. Hey everyone, welcome to this week's episode. I am so happy and so proud of all the recent weddings and engagements I've come across over the last couple of months. I'm one of those people that loves love especially when it's real love. On the other hand, I've also seen a lot of couples bring things to an end and even divorce. I've never been married which is why I became curious about what it takes to have a successful marriage and what it takes to be a wife and not just a bride. This week our guest is Kratia Franco of KayKouture Bridal Boutique. I connected with Kratia a few years ago through a Facebook group and we've been connected since. More about Kratia Kratia also known as Kay Kay (a childhood nickname) is a 35 years old wife of 8 years, and a mother to 6 almost 7 beautiful children. Some of her favorite things to do are spend time with her family and hang out at the local Starbucks while enjoying her favorite cup of coffee (Blonde Expresso) while reading a good self-help book. Kratia started Kay Kouture Bridal in 2016 with the urge of wanting to create her own business so she would have the ability to be home with her children and not miss any of their milestones while raising them. She also wanted to provide something that honored God and also empower women. She has always been a lover of all things beautiful like fresh flowers, weddings, beautiful decor, pretty journals, etc which is what ultimately led her to open her gift and favor shop. Over the years she gained a divine interest in celebrating women throughout their engagement process. She loves providing products to her customers that help them celebrate their journey in becoming a Mrs. The biggest goal that she's set for herself is to simply break the barriers that have been put on mothers and women. Motherhood in itself is a job, but there many women like herself that were born with a true desire to create, invent, and trailblaze to the top. She has always been a very goal-oriented kind of girl and she refuses to believe that when you become a mother, your dreams, goals, and desires have to come to an end. She believes in breaking strongholds and generational curses off of her bloodline and re-defining what a mothers should look like in the business world. This week I had the opportunity to chat with another Chicago Native and social media expert Michelle Thames. What most people don't know is there is a strategy running your business via social media which includes more than just posting your products. Realistically speaking at lease 1/3 of my income from my business is made just by social media, or from individuals who found me using Instagram. This is why it was extremely important to bring an expert to the show. More about Michelle Michelle Thames is a top-rated Social Media expert, strategist, speaker, content creator, and entrepreneur. Michelle has worked with one of the fastest-growing beauty brands creating and implementing social media strategies that garnered sales in the millions. She is also the founder of Thames Media Solutions LLC a full-service social media agency and the content creator behind @Naturalista86 and happilyevernatural.com a platform that inspires women to be confident, courageous, and unique in every way. Many of us desire to become entrepreneurs based on what we see on social media and through other media platforms. Fantasizing about the lives of others but unable to see ourselves as becoming just as successful. After a conversation with a member of my mom tribe I realized that many moms only get to see the successes of entrepreneurship and not the struggles. They don't fully understand that must accept the good with the bad, and the bad is only lessons that'll take you further in your journey. During this solo episode I provide 5 hard lessons I had to learn during my journey to becoming a mompreneur. I promise it’s nothing that’ll scare you away, but it’ll bring light to the things that more aspiring entrepreneurs rarely ever thing about or consider. This encouraged her to create a platform that highlights single moms at their best while providing resources, strategies and value able growth lessons. We are back with another exclusive episode this week. Since Valentine's Day is around the corner, I thought it was important to bring a relationship expert on the show this week. I had the opportunity to sit and talk with Mom and Relationship Coach Sasha Ridley of Sasha A Ridley Enterprises. Sasha realized that she had a sincere passion to understand and help those around her by helping empowering and building them up. This came as no surprise as Sasha's childhood was plagued with confusion of herself, fear and communication issues while masking the emotional pain she constantly felt. Before reaching a point of self-realization, Sasha constantly asked herself questions such as, "Who am I", "Why am I here", and questioned whether her circumstances were real or just a horrible bad dream that she couldn't seem to wake up from. Sasha pursued her passion of helping others and completed a certification program to become a Life Coach coupled with her studies in psychology. As a Life Coach, Sasha's passion is to help women uncover their truths and embrace vulnerability. Sasha is committed to helping women who have experienced relationship failures, had to endure major adversity and seek to reposition their mindset. As a certified Relationship Life Coach, Sasha’s expertise lies within the realm of uncovering the fears and self-debilitating thoughts that play with our mind and cause us to question our worth and limit us from building genuine connections with people. Mommas it is crucial that we include our children in our business. You have to talk to them about what's going on, tell them your vision, share your ideas, and ask them about their dreams and goals. If you are building a business to break generational curses, or create a better life for your children include them. Create mini task for them to complete, make them feel like they have an important role within the business. This will give them a better understanding on the work you're doing, it is also good bonding time for you all. Most moms experience mom guilt in entrepreneurship because they feel they're giving their business more time than their children or their children is missing out on things because of their business investments. I know because I was once this mom. Communication is key when you are raising your children and your business. Children are sponges and they are soaking up everything they see you doing. They deserve to see a healthy and happy moms who is also following her dreams while building an empire. During this episode I chat with my 8 year old daughter Leah Cloud.
