We announce the winner of the Rabobank Good Deeds Competition - the Te Mata Tennis Club - in a small rural community near Raglan in the Waikato. The tennis club was strong in the 1970s through to the 1990s however in the late 90's the community club dwindled in numbers and the court condition deteriorated due to lack of use, and maintenance, leading to the eventual club cessation, with the last AGM in 2003. There has been significant population growth in Te Mata over the last 15 years as well as increased interest in tennis, and a group of locals - including a representative from the near-by school - recently re-established the club committee and started discussions around upgrading the courts. A project plan has now been developed with the aim of resurfacing the courts and upgrading the facilities.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today I take on the topic of sibling loss by suicide with 3 younger (now older?) siblings - Cara lost her big sister Leah in 2018; Sienna lost her big brother Macoy in 2019 and Parker lost his big brother Alex in 2016. On this weeks show, Kurt and Chad talk with 20+ year missionaries to Ghana, Bob and Bonnie Parker. https://seedministry.com Bob and Bonnie Parker accepted Christ as their personal savior as children but both ran from Him for many years. It was through their children attending Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and a child evangelist that they came back to the church and the Lord. Bob was ordained as a minister at First Baptist Church, Elizabeth, Indiana, in 1995 and remained on staff as part of the Ministry Team until leaving for Ghana in 2001.In September of 2000, Bob and Bonnie traveled to Ghana Africa, for their first and only short term mission trip to the area. As they shared at a school one morning, Bonnie began to cry when she saw the children carrying their desks outside to hear the story of Jesus. That night as she recorded in her journal she saw the Scripture “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6 (NIV) She shared her experience with Bob and they agreed that God was leading them to full time missionary work in Tamale, Ghana, West Africa.

Dynamic Duo Susanne Klein & Karen Parker talk to the Dark Master about Susanne's new school called the 'Tough Old Birds' Susanne's full title is; Dr Susanne Klein FInstP and she holds the position of Associate Professor - EPSRC Manufacturing Fellow - Art and Design at a local university, let's just say in her work life she knows her stuff. In 2020 Susanne started a class consisting mainly of older ladies who wanted to do some fitness and mobility training, the class has now grown into a regular weekly Taekwon-Do class. Susanne is a black belt student under Ms Karen parker and an instructor with P.U.M.A. martial arts. The Tough Old Birds are having great fun and are re-living their younger days as well as discovering parts of their bodies that are getting stronger as the weeks and months pass. We had a great chat about her inspirational class of 'Tough Old Birds'

Dr. Mike followed his father as state delegate to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) whose corporate headquarters is in Washington DC. After six years in this position he was elected by 12 southern states as their representative to the ACA Board of Governors. He was later elected and served two years as Chairman of the Board. Dr. Mike is a past recipient of the ACA Chiropractor of the Year.
Dr. Tony DeRamus is a 1998 graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. Although he has spent his entire adult life involved in fitness and nutrition, it wasn’t until he decided to attend Chiropractic College that his passion turned into a career. Dr. DeRamus has now spent the last fourteen years helping and serving patients. During this time, he has been voted one of “America’s Top Chiropractors” on several occasions. He is the former chiropractor of the Houston Texans Cheerleading squad and is currently a member of the Houston Rodeo Sports Medicine Team.
