In this JSJ self-help guided meditation practice, you learn two sell-help holds that will encourage the stressors of the physical body to dissipate as well as relieve some of the fatigue many women can feel during pregnancy. The first step is a hold (SEL (safety energy lock) 11 and 15) which helps our supervisor energy flow, and the second is a self-help quick hold to help relieve fatigue (SEL 19s held together). With a JSJ practice, you will find that many times some other symptoms/conditions might fade or disappear over time. And this is because all our energy systems are interconnected. When we support an energy flow, we are supporting our whole bodies and all the functions within them. JSJ is safe, gentle, and effective which makes it. a great go-to during pregnancy when we're all just trying our best to decrease substance use in general. JSJ is an extremely helpful tool to have in your toolbox when pregnant because you can utilize it to help assist you through emotional discomforts, mental discomforts, and physical discomforts. I love all feedback. Please consider writing me about your experience or if you have any questions. And thank you for being a listener! Please consider buying me a cup of coffee

Practice falling asleep during pregnancy using this delightful JSJ energy flow. In Jin Shin Jyutsu, called the Spleen Function Energy Flow, this flow helps support our reproductive functions and helps relieve us of pregnancy insomnia (among other things as well). I use this flow all throughout pregnancy (both right and left flow) to help assist myself to sleep. During pregnancy, we have to be very careful in what we consume for insomnia relief. Some women are used to consuming substances that they are now told to stay away from (such as Xanax, Ativan, alcohol, marijuana, etc...) Instead of a substance after a long day, use this flow to help your body ease into a blissful night's sleep. I find that the first two steps of this flow help me release stress and strain from the day. And immediately when I settle into the next position (after moving my hand from tailbone to beneath my ribcage) I can feel my body and mind let go, and then I feel somewhat of a sinking, relaxing sensation, and this feeling always helps me drift right to sleep. I would love your feedback on this episode if you have the time. And thank you for being a listener! Please consider buying me a cup of coffee

During pregnancy, supporting our hearts physically, mentally, and emotionally can offer huge benefits to you and your growing baby. No need to spend hours in visualization meditations if you're more word-based in your mental space like me. Connect with your inner soul, your heart space, and instantly feel connected with your own growing baby all the time. During these meditations where old emotions and possibly intense emotions may rise, I like to leave the baby out of communication in this process because these meditations are focused on the mom and giving all the attention to the mother and her body, mind, and soul. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pregnancyjsjmeditations/support

    Raw: Anxiety Attack to Calm

In this spontaneous JSJ guided meditation, I practice 3 self-help holds to assist me out of an anxiety attack. When pregnant, anxiety and anxiety attacks can feel debilitating; whether it's from increased fatigue, exhaustion, changing hormones, environment, etc, sometimes it feels like just all too much to handle. Although infrequent, I still have an occasional anxiety attack, and most of the time, I am able to process and shift out of it easily even though it's not fun. These three holds was just spontaneous decision. There are many holds to help yourself during anxiety/panic attacks. The holds we practice today help us to ground, allows for adaptation, encourages movement, and centers our soul, and stills our minds and bodies. Today, I start with finding a safe place, then accepting the feelings, then shifting thoughts, then realigning with thoughts more beneficial and positive. Watch a transformation from an anxiety attack to calm and ready for the next step in my day. I didn't purposely leave baby out of this episode (usually I reference or talk about growing baby during the episodes), however, I would have added near the end of the meditation something like this message to baby: "I love you so much baby. This anxiety attack that you may have felt has nothing to do with you. Even if you think it is, even if I think it is, truly, it's not. These are my feelings and my emotions, and you, my sweet baby, don't need to worry about it or take these emotions on in any way." I considered not publishing this episode. Mostly because I wasn't sure about being so vulnerable. But, I'm here to be real after all, so publishing this episode made sense even if it just helps one person! I edited this episode heavily, and I would love all feedback, as it helps guide me to build and create episode by episode. Being pregnant is hard! I'm so glad I have JSJ, meditation, and a whole bag of other tools to help me along the way. What an insane journey this is: the journey into motherhood. There are no words to describe the intense emotions I have felt and continue to feel during this time. I don't know how I might be acting and what would fill my thoughts during this transition time if I hadn't begun my healing journey long ago. Please consider buying me a cup of coffee

Practicing this simple JSJ self-care hold can be very beneficial during pregnancy. In this episode, I teach pregnant women a simple hand placement they can do to help revitalize and support their reproductive system. We set a focus and intention on exploring transformation into motherhood and releasing resistance to this transformation into motherhood. Relax, and let go of stress and tension in this guided meditation created for pregnant women around the world. It's amazing to me how we can revitalize all the functions that take place within our reproductive system with a simple placement of our hands. And within this transformation into motherhood meditation, we disentangle from feelings of resistance physically, mentally, and emotionally. We realign with feelings of strength, courage, confidence, creativity, intuitiveness, fluidity, flexibility, ease, and grace. Use this guided meditation anytime during motherhood to help you feel more balanced, calm, and stress-free. Earlier this week, coming to this particular JSJ self-care hold because I found myself transforming into a different stage in motherhood. Now I have a 3-year-old and 10 month old; things are changing, within all 3 of us, and within the rest of the family that's involved with us too. There's transformation happening all around me during this time of motherhood. So when I can take time to practice holding my safety energy lock 17 as well as my ring finger, I can find peace, I can find so much peace. And I might even hold these spots standing in line at the grocery store or when I'm sitting in line anywhere with a free hand. And coming right to that wrist hold, it calms my entire nervous system. That's one of the other benefits of this hold. To calm your nervous system. In today's meditation, we practice a very simple JSJ self-care hold to release all the  "trying to" and "efforting" of the day. Maybe we're trying too hard to please other people or accomplish goals and to-dos. In this meditation, we simply let go of the mental chatter and feel enjoyment in the stillness and find peace in the present moment.  This particular attitude (or emotion) of "trying to" and "efforting" is overlooked in today's busy societies, because it is encouraged. But as my mentor reminds me, we are human beings, not human doings. We must take time to just simply be (watch the clouds roll by if you will).  During pregnancy, we can experience excess mental stress and/or physical stress, and in my opinion, it's because we are just doing too much. Pregnancy is a time to tune inward and give our bodies and babies what they are needing day by day. But in most societies, we run on clock rhythms rather than body awareness and need-based rhythms.  This meditation helps us connect with ourselves and the growing baby inside. Enjoy today's episode and easily let go of mental stress and physical tension. In today's episode, we practice a very simple JSJ self-care hold on both sides of the body. This meditation helps to calm our nervous system quickly, which also helps clear our minds and connect with our growing baby inside. During pregnancy, our bodies are going through so many changes and working so hard to grow our beautiful little baby. It's important for us women to take time to stop, breathe, and just be still periodically during our busy days. Not only are you instantly helping your body and mind when practicing these JSJ meditations, but you're helping to prepare yourself for labor and birth. Meditation helps you learn how to be present, tune into your breath, tune into your body, as well as practice listening to your body, mind, and spirit. This self-care JSJ hold that we practice today also helps balance reproductive energy, relax our mind, and calm our nerves. A great self-care practice for any pregnant woman (or anyone in general) experiencing anxiety, stress, and/or worry. In addition, this is also a great hold for the postpartum period! In general, this hold helps ground us and helps us feel the relief of mental and physical stress. This JSJ self-care hold also helps aid in harmonizing our reproductive organs and reproductive functions. This simple position is a major "intersection" of many other JSJ flows and is a simple, yet powerful hold to practice during pregnancy. Today's episode is short, simple, and informal. As always, I bring a focus to our breath exhalations. We also practice releasing muscle tension in our face and shoulder areas. I love this JSJ self-care hold because it is very simple and I can practice sitting, laying down, or even standing up when necessary. In today's pregnancy JSJ meditation, I practice the JSJ flow called the kidney function energy flow. This is a JSJ flow that helps increase the energy within us, release fears, and help create and transform our lives. This meditation dives deep into reprogramming our minds about the fear of labor and birth and shifting these difficult emotions. Starting with breath relaxation techniques, then accepting our fears, and then releasing and shifting emotions of fear into more positive ones like trust, peace, clarity, trust, and strength. Release fear of labor and birth and feel empowered. When we have fear within us, many times there's a build-up of fear and when new fear sits on top of old fear, many of us just don't know what to do with it, so we just live with it. But we don't have to! We can release our fear of labor and birth and transform these feelings instead very easily. This flow also helps harmonize any kidney issues, balances our reproductive functions, and relieves muscle aches and pains. We don't need to be stuck with any particular discomfort for a long duration of time. In today's pregnancy JSJ meditation, I explore a few different self-care holds in a series that will help alleviate feelings of stress and anxiety -- more specifically overwhelm and what I call feelings of "trying too hard" which disrupts our energetic systems. During the holiday season, we can get caught up in all the hustle and bustle and forget to care for ourselves and take time to clear our minds, take a break, and simply relax. Being pregnant during the holidays can be extra tough, and I know I certainly have been feeling an extra layer of stress and overwhelm because of the pregnancy. This meditation for me helped me to 1. initially ground myself and remember that my basic needs are still of utmost importance, and 2. to help me release tension and feelings of "efforting" which can cause disruption within our systems (aka stress & anxiety), and 3. to relieve feelings of overwhelm and really experience a sense of calm in this moment of practice and connect with my mind, body, spirit, and my baby growing inside. I define my emotions so much differently than I used to, but I think depressed, bored, and down would be words I would have described this feeling in the past. In today's pregnancy JSJ guided meditation, I use the self-care JSJ hold for the 10 flow which helps bring movement into the body as well as help us feel a sense of abundance within. This flow helps us breathe easier and feel a sense of joy, peace, and connection within ourselves and our lives surrounding us. I start the episode by helping you figure out where to place your hands, guide you in white light, warming visualization to help calm your nervous system, and then move into emotional freedom techniques to help you shift these stuck emotions into more positive and helpful ones. I end with practicing connecting to our growing baby and sending them positive feelings, thoughts, and love. This is a great go-to hold for when you're needing to balance emotions and going through changes in life (hello pregnancy). During pregnancy, many women experience anxiety, stress, worry, depression, sadness, frustration, irritation, and many other strong emotions—thank you, hormones! When I practice this hold, it helps me release these “stuck” emotions and just let go so that I'm able to just feel happy and more easily accept all of life's changes. This meditation is focused on JSJ self-care holds, breath awareness, and emotional freedom techniques. You can use the mediator flow throughout your pregnancy over and over again to help balance emotions and welcome change in your life. During this JSJ guided meditation, you will learn a flow called the main central vertical flow. I spend more time on a hold during the middle of this flow because this hold is a specific one to relieve nausea. However, I would recommend practicing this entire flow at least a few times a week, and then you can use this specific nausea hold as a quickie during the remainder of the week. Dealing with nausea and vomiting during that first trimester of pregnancy can seem overwhelming and completely debilitating and frustrating. Using this JSJ flow along with other tips and tricks to help reduce feelings of nausea, will help you be able to cope with daily life, get through the nauseous part of pregnancy, and move on to flourish in the next trimester of your pregnancy. The main central vertical flow is the top self-care hold to use in the JSJ practice, and you are helping revitalize all 144,000 functions of your entire body. This JSJ spontaneous guided meditation helped me to release control relating to a very tense family dynamic. When my loved ones are affected, I become affected, and my mamma bear in me comes out. And I just want to protect—and my default is to lean into trying to control the situation and take it into my own hands to fix, even when it has little to do with me. When I get caught up in these intense emotions and feelings, I don't think logically, and I say things to my loved ones that I truly don't mean at all. When I practice letting go, releasing control, and realigning with actual truths, I am able to reasonably think of solutions and ideas to help navigate this issue or similar issues in the future. These particular JSJ self care holds help balance our endocrine system (hormones!), help blood flow, help ease all tension, aids in relieving anger and frustrations, and aids in calming our entire system to a more balanced state. In every episode I choose holds that help aid in every stage of pregnancy, and they are safe to practice again and again. Thank you for being a listener! Ep 1: Why Use My Unique Pregnancy Meditation? This spontaneous JSJ guided meditation was created for me to release fear, more specifically the emotions of fear, and everything that can bring. For me, when I release fear I like to focus on surrendering my control and trusting in the process of life. Releasing emotions is not always comfortable, but the more I practice, the more I can tune into what it feels like to let go. These particular JSJ holds are very useful for releasing fear, as well as helping your lung function energy pathways. When we're pregnant, sometimes it can be hard to breathe because we have a baby pushing on our diaphragm as well as a lower oxygen level in our lungs. The second hold I practice in this flow will help revitalize your lungs and help you breathe deeply and more fully. Ep 1: Why Use My Unique Pregnancy Meditation? Many people tend to look outward for their joy, happiness, or fulfillment. On a physical level, this JSJ hold is helps to relieve physical stress, depression, and anxiety. It also helps balance our endocrine system (think hormones and reproductive system!) which is such an important system when pregnant. This hold helps me relax into a state of “being” rather than “doing”. I can get so caught up in trying so hard to do things that I can physically cause myself anxiety and emotional stress. When I take time to “hug” myself and focus on truths, I am able to let go for a time and help my mind and body relax and put my body into my parasympathetic mode rather than sympathetic mode. Parasympathetic mode means a state of relaxation to promote healing, rather than the sympathetic mode which means fight or flight mode.  Ep 1: Why Use My Unique Pregnancy Meditation? Our bodies need time and space to slow down and process our life experiences. Many people are living their lives in fast-forward and never taking a moment to just be. This fast-forwarding of life causes disharmony—otherwise known as stress and tension. This spontaneous JSJ guided meditation helps us to literally release physical and emotional stress and overwhelm and become in tune with our body and mind. Jin Shin Jyutsu, or JSJ, means “ The art of the creator through the person of compassion.” This healing art is based upon our own natural, and the ability to harmonize ourselves both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our health and harmony depends on the free and even distribution of this life energy throughout our body, mind, and spirit. Though the JSJ art bears some similarities to acupuncture, the practice achieves its transformative results without needles, using only a gentle touch – A methodology that translates very nicely to self-care. All you need to get started are your fingers and hands, and a little bit of time and patience. At the beginning of every episode, I invite the listener to hold specific areas of their body. And I may ask they move their hands throughout the meditation. I believe this is one of the most important part of my meditations along with focusing on a full exhalation. Some pregnant women during this time of Covid outbreak are scared and faced to choose between a homebirth and giving birth at the hospital alone. What a horrible position for women in our society to be facing. When I was pregnant, I relied on JSJ holds and flows to balance both physically and mentally, and I want to share this art of healing with other women, especially during this time. Being stuck at home can make us all feel a bit cooped up. Many of us are in “project mode” trying to get through it or maybe your constantly entertaining yourself with your phone, movies, music, etc. Or maybe you're busy with all your kiddos and trying to keep them happy. This JSJ flow helps us calm our nerves (literally helps stop the production of adrenaline) while providing a natural energy boost. For me, this flow helps calm my body as well as my whirlwind of thoughts and just provides an overall happier feeling within. This flow is amazing for our immune systems too (which is always a good thing when pregnant). Ep 1: Why Use My Unique Pregnancy Meditation?
