Send us a textTitle: Lost in the Spotlight – When Success and Religion Still Leave You EmptyWhat happens when everything you thought would fulfill you… doesn't?In this raw and unfiltered episode, Simon and Ben unpack the deep sense of lostness that's gripping hearts both outside and inside the Church. Centering the conversation around the tragic true story of “Johnny Football”—a gifted athlete who had fame, fortune, and a following, but whose life plan became “blow $5 million and kill myself”—they illuminate the truth that worldly success can never satisfy the soul's need for Jesus. But the most alarming discovery? Many churchgoers feel just as lost. Spiritual routines and religious activity are often substituted for genuine relationship with Christ. “I was happier before I became a Christian” is a heartbreaking admission we explore, highlighting how discipleship has been replaced with performance, and church programs have overshadowed personal transformation. The anchor for this episode is Luke 19:10: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” That includes those who are not just lost in the world—but lost while sitting in pews.Simon and Ben reflect on Peter's walk on water, drawing a striking comparison between staying focused on Jesus versus sinking under the weight of distraction, fear, and unmet expectations. The takeaway? You can still feel lost even while looking religious—because only Jesus satisfies. This episode cuts through surface-level faith talk and dives into the root of spiritual disconnection. If you're:Achieving more but feeling emptier,Attending church but missing intimacy with God,Doing “all the right things” but still drowning spiritually—This conversation is your lifeline. We explore:What happens when identity is built on success or approvalHow religion without relationship breeds disillusionmentWhy authentic connection to Jesus changes everythingNo formulas. No perfection required. Just a Savior who says, “Come as you are.” Learn how to reconnect with your true identity in Christ, speak God's truth over your life, and break free from the illusion that performance, popularity, or possessions will ever complete you.feeling lost despite success, lost in the church podcast, Johnny Manziel testimony reflection, Luke 19:10 explained, Jesus seeks the lost podcast, Christian identity vs performance, when religion doesn't fulfill, walking on water Peter lesson, emptiness after success, spiritual disconnection in church, how to find Jesus again, God-shaped hole in the heartSupport the showhttps://www.pastorbencooper.co.uk/https://www.rbchristianradio.net/

In our latest podcast episode, I had the pleasure of talking with with the dynamic members of Brotality, an emerging force in the metal scene. Our conversation was as lively as their performances, covering a wide range of topics that shed light on their journey and experiences as a band. We explored the origins of Brotality, from their formation to the challenges they faced during the pandemic while striving to create and release their music.Their new EP, "It Feeds," became a focal point as we discussed its creation and the themes that resonate throughout their powerful tracks. Touring life also took center stage, including the unique challenge of finding vegan food on the road—a topic that sparked a memorable exchange between drummer John and myself about our shared love of beef jerky.Delving deeper, we touched on the band's advocacy for mental health awareness and their meaningful partnership with HeartSupport. This highlighted their commitment to using their platform for positive impact beyond music.Whether you're a metal enthusiast or curious about the behind-the-scenes of rising bands, this episode offers a glimpse into the passion, camaraderie, and perseverance driving Brotality's ascent in the music world.Follow Brotality:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brotalityband/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brotalityband/?hl=enSpotify: Brotality Spotify

I share why leaving a job must be done with respect and integrity, and why a two-week notice isn't just a courtesy, but a mark of professionalism. As we honor our servicemen and women, we explore how challenges reveal our true selves, and why we should savor each moment. So, join me as we delve into the significance of knowing our limits, cultivating a heart of service, and embracing gratitude. Jerome Flood is the founder of FloodGeight and a drummer who has mastered the art of drumming. Believe it or not? It all started with skipping class. This master beat keeper boasts accolades such as drumming for Crowder and winning Guitar Center's 20th annual Drum-Off that pitted him against over 6,000 other drummers. Like so many musicians who has achieved startling success at a young age, for Jerome, it started with a dream and a relentless work ethic to pursue it. Archetypes Collide is becoming one of the most talked-about names in hard rock — before their debut album even releases. With unswervingly honest lyrics and a variety of genre archetypes smashed together for one monster sound, Archetypes Collide's forthcoming self-titled album (due March 31) promises to hit home for a variety of listeners. The heartbeat of these songs comes from singer and primary songwriter Kyle Pastor's own personal and emotional process. Trying to determine where he fit in and what piece music had in his identity was a long road for the church-kid-turned rocker. These days, Kyle has settled into his creative passions, his role as a husband and a dad, and work as a creative director at his church. But even with that foundation and the sudden explosive growth of Archetypes Collide, Kyle is no stranger to anxiety and doubt. His process of pushing through? Community, solidarity, and acceptance of who he was created to be. Are you struggling with your own questions about mental health, identity, and life's purpose? In this episode, our hearts are rejoicing and reverent to be in the enlightening and awakening presence of mystic wisdom teacher and guide, Mary Reed, who is ushering in the Way of Love, the Truth of Love, and the Luminous Light of Love.We welcome her back to Caravan of the Heart to celebrate and cherish the release of her new book and big, beautiful, inspiring love letter, Humanity's Epic Awakening A Mystical Odyssey Beyond Belief. We become fully aware of the light of the divine here through us and as us. We make our Love visible. No scripture or sermon is necessary to live according to love...every heart knows the way.We ask, If love is all we need - then why hasn't there ever been enough love to make our suffering go away? We find out the answer.Expand to hold the wisdom that the origin of our pain is our belief that we are separate from everything, separate from love.See how when we reject what we label “bad” we are stuck in a cycle of pain- what we resist...persists. Invite whatever comes into my awareness...I will love unconditionally as an equal part of all that I am. "There is a great love coming....like a great tidal wave...like the force of a thousand winds...it is unstoppable... and you should welcome it when it comes!"We look forward to Mary helping us remember that how we are in each moment IS our contribution to the collective. She offers to us… “You see how powerful you are? Throughout the cosmos you are being celebrated!” We celebrate HER and all of her contributions in service to Divine Love!Mary was a staunchly agnostic healthcare executive living in Washington, DC when she began venturing uncontrollably into mystical experiences in the company of Jesus, Buddha and angels. She finally surrendered her “normal” life and spent several years in a tiny nunnery in the Himalayas coming to terms with her unexpected abilities. Her profound experiences are both a road map and an invitation into the Divine wisdom we all hold within. Mary's work is a palpable transmission of Divine Love as evidenced in her three books — Unwitting Mystic Evolution of the Message of Love, Divine New Being A Sublime Guided Passage to the End of Hell, and Humanity's Epic Awakening A Mystical Odyssey Beyond Belief.Mary says, “However we are reacting to others is our contribution to others. However we are reacting to the world is our contribution to the world. What is it YOU want to contribute?”Personal Website: https://www.lovemaryreed.com/ENJOY Mary's 1st episode on Caravan of the Heart here: https://www.caravanoftheheart.com/podcast-episodes/episode/4e04eec0/mary-reed-mystic-wisdom-guideteacherSupport Caravan of the HeartSupport the showBECOME A MEMBERhttps://ko-fi.com/caravanoftheheart/tiersYour monthly support helps further this outreach and keeps this Caravan moving to amplify love in all things! Pizza Dog Productions is on the road this week, hence the slight delay. We've got a special episode for you all on location in Orlando for the first ever Heart Support Fest in support of mental health.
(Our laptop completely failed. We offer to you an inspirational talk by Renee given at a Unity service a few years ago. We are in the process of getting things replaced and should have a new guest episode next week. In the meantime, here's an invitation to love…)In this episode, you are invited to consider that it is impossible that there is anything but love! Why not explore this? We encourage you to activate your spiritual GPS to find out where you are (love) and where you are destined (love)…all paths meet at the crossroads of love.Marianne Williamson says, “Until we see love as the meaning of life, life seems to have no meaning at all. The sense of meaninglessness produces chaos, and the chaos produces fear. There is only one way out of this, and that is to see every moment and every situation as an invitation to love.””There is only one way out of this, and that is to see every moment and every situation as an invitation to love.” ...find out what "this" is... If we don't choose love – what are we choosing instead? We cannot be in the world of connection and the world of estrangement at the same time…when we are feeling joy, we cannot feel fear; when we are feeling tranquil we cannot feel resentful; when we are feeling love we cannot feel critical…We can choose our destination but we need to know exactly where we are and where we wish to go.Love is the only way and when it feels like it is not love it is only just a lack of love. The perfect you is accessed through the love within you. Choose love over fear and find your shine!Free your heart from hatred.Free your mind from worries.Live Simply.Give More.Expect Goodness.DECIDE to love it! That's the way of love!Remember, YOU are love and YOU are loved!Let's Connect! Adam Gontier is a rock singer and songwriter whose career spans multiple number 1 hits, Billboard music awards, and major placement by franchises such as WWE. As original frontman for Three Days Grace, it's safe to say that Adam Gontier's voice defined an era. Leading songs like “Never Too Late” and “Animal I Have Become” to record-smashing success, Adam wrote some of the most recognizable hard rock songs of the 2000s. In the process, he also brought mental health into the rock arena. His impact didn't stop with Three Days Grace. With his current band Saint Asonia, Adam Gontier continues to pen essential hard rock songs — most recently with Introvert and Extrovert, dual EPs that are combined into one full-length release. On this episode of Trevor Talks, Adam shares about how those two sets of songs tell a story that begins in quarantine and resolves on the other side. He also shares about why it matters to keep fighting stigma around mental health, and how music has been his lifelong outlet through his own journey through addiction into sobriety. The conversation is a full circle moment for podcast host Trevor, who had his own interest in rock shaped by Three Days Grace's music — as did thousands of other aspiring musicians and creatives. James Barnett has led greeting card company DaySpring from its humble beginnings in Arkansas through its current status as a global source of encouragement. With over 40 years of experience with the company, James has learned a lot about what it looks like to live into his life's calling. That calling began when James Barnett was growing up in the south as a pastor's kid, the youngest of 7 children. Money was always tight, which created resourcefulness and drive in a young James. But when he attended a conference in Dallas, his life was forever changed by a question: “Are you driven, or are you called?” That conference was his first step towards asking God, “what are You doing, and how can I be a part of it?” James Barnett expands on that life-changing perspective shift in this episode of Trevor Talks and his brand-new book Blue Skies. Dayseeker is experiencing the rare momentum of a band just hitting their stride. With their newly-released album Dark Sun, they're following up the 2019 fan-beloved album Sleeptalk. While offering continuity of quality, Dark Sun also ventures into wholly new territory for the post-metalcore band.Much of the new ground broken on Dark Sun is due to the experience of frontman Rory Rodriguez, who wrote the majority of the album about his dad's death. “The sun burned out the day that my dad died,” Rory explains, illuminating the album's title. Those are the themes we explore in this episode of Trevor Talks. Rory shares with us about losing his own father just as he became a father himself, how COVID catalyzed the band's role in fans' hearts, and what it's like to be a band on the rise. If you've heard Fit For A King's new album The Hell We Create, you know it's musically and thematically heavy. After listening to this episode, you'll understand why. Ryan Kirby has been fronting the Texas-based metalcore band since 2010. With his vocals at the helm, Fit For A King has become one of Solid State Records' flagship bands, known for punishing breakdowns and live shows to match. Although they've never shied away from heaviness — musically or thematically — their new album The Hell We Create takes the weight to the next level. In this episode, you'll hear about the journeys into various kinds of hells that fueled the band's most vulnerable and visceral album yet. From facing his wife's near-death experience, to vicarious trauma through adopting children, to enduring years without live music due to the pandemic, Ryan Kirby has been to countless personal lows in the last two years. The album and this conversation map the way through that pain — and the way out.Stream Fit For A King's The Hell We Create: https://ffak.ffm.to/thehellwecreate This show is sponsored by lifeaudio: https://www.lifeaudio.com/ If you're struggling and in need of support, visit:HeartSupport: www.heartsupport.comDeath2Life: https://d2lrevolution.com Teen Hopeline: http://www.teenhopeline.com/Beneath the Skin: https://www.beneaththeskinonline.org/ To Write Love On Her Arms: https://twloha.com/find-help/ Follow Fit For A King:Official website: https://www.kaylastoecklein.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fitforakingtx/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fitforakingband YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/FitForaKing/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@fitforaking_band For more Trevor Talks:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4QvmLXo8mrOvlpfIZIgwBUApple Music: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/trevor-talks/id1513832599 Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMTEwNzc5LnJzcw== Instagram: http://instagram.com/trevortalkspodcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trevortalkspodcast
