Scifi Buddha

Ok, we are back, though this was recorded seemingly aeons ago. 6:00-6:10, there is some more tasty sounds and still a bit of practical effects mystery. How did our poor cabana man get thrown, exactly? No pause unless you had a version on 8mm. The snoore and organ are SFB special effects, though Frederick insists there is a snore embedded in the chocking scene.

Wow, starts with an effect of surprising crispness. We are at 5:50 - 6:00. Vader has his left hand on two sorts of apples! I guess the poor elevated one is an Adam of another origin. 

Obi Wan... wow, now that was a sidetrack, but a very edifying one if not silly. 5:40-5:50, we get there but we neglected to talk about the weirdness that was the norm of '77 when copies were rare, I mean, if they made copies of the plans the whole Vader thing about where are the plans inquisition would be mute. More of a choke than a strangle, but still a pretty effective special effect by way of editing. Accents and the alphabet. 4:50-5:00. Wow, Shatner is a mindful astronaut and Wow, Shatner is an astronaut and she had a  nice hand. Colors and spaceships and an introductory insertion.! Colors and spaceships and a revealing insertion. Foundation, the best SciFi series! But the lack of humor is a concern. Doomed. Epic. Merry Halloween. When two holidays collide. Start with getting comfy with ten seconds but HA! Delight in extending it for minutes, maybe hundreds of starfish years... 4:40 - 4:50 seconds. Breath becomes the object of great focus. Calm like a Jedi. Vader Bust in detail. Pretty creepy sculpture. Details. Left plane. German, samurai, honey bee drones! The Big Picture, WWII footage explained, originally ran in the fifties and sixties but was in syndicated UHF loops during 1977. Straight white and black plastic. Power guns. Fingers! 4:30 - 4:40. The big intro. Splashy and less flashy than perhaps expected. Definitely creepy and do we get the breath in the first 10sec  of the Dark one? And Frederick echo locates amazement. Paul continues his Starwarzy scuba driving. Akimbo. CaperE. What is that in that clown's holster? Happy Halloween George, what are you supposed to be? A insanely wealthy hobo? Should on be skillful in action, repeat the action. Accumulation of skillful action is blissful. Ch9 Willfully Unskillful Sec.118    

We are at 4:20-4:30, but boy it seems like we already covered this trot! Hmmm, Disney or moi? Energy reflex, strangely energizing. Drama experienced for real verse today's high def delivery and consumption. Humans! Moving in the company of fools we suffer. Association with fools is painful, like partnering with an enemy. We are at 4:00 to 4:10". Smoke is back in the editing of vantage points. Mostly troopers and a whole lot of anticipation. Fictional people die. Do they live on though? Sounds. Violence in Star Wars. Blood? Cape. Eeyore. Breath Awareness of Vader. Samurai. THX1138. Waiting for Vader and wondering: In his first ten seconds does the breathing show up? Ponderous. Smoke monster of a sort, tripping stormtroopers through the 10sec of 3:50 - 4:00. Quite a fun sizzling stew, considering all the grocery delivery pickup randomness. A lot of casualties is the general feeling, but in reality there are just 1, 2, 3 humanoids on the floor about now. Still quite the comicbook loss and so much  blaster animation. Obscuration and barking cleared by breath awareness, going faster miles an hour. Roadrunner. Now, the fever of desire exists not for one who has completed the journey and is sorrowless and wholly free from attachment. Dhammapada Ch.7 V.90  

So slow, we are 10esconds at a time 3:40-3:50. Sally Spahklahs. Grogu is nonlinear. Explosions and fizzle. Doors opening, blasting through. Stormtroopers plastic entrance. Falling Down. Are they robots? Move like Jaggah. Dark forces dressing in white. Pew! Pews! Too. Breath awareness for a few seconds, letting go of the static. Humanoids. Like fine dust tossed against the wind unskillful acion blows back upon the foolish who offend the innocent. Dhammapada Ch9 Willfully Unskillful #125 (not #124!)  

Star Wars seconds 3:30 - 3:40. TieIn Fighters. Feed and follow endlessly. Moogalicous. Product replacement. Favorite Jingle. Sparks. Earworm Deodorant. Simple but profound, here on Earth. Babe get hip to the jive. Stops the Worming. Sparklers. Beard Lacquer. Porg Jerky. Tough cookies, old technology. Kaaaaaahhhhhn (sp). Low brain. Like a colorful flower without fragrance, fruitless are the fair words of one who does not practice their meaning. Dhammapada Ch. Flowers, #51  

No dialog in these 10sec: 3:20-3:30.  Mostly the Princess's dudes, waiting... agape. Nerds. Geeks. Fans. Care Bears, Smurfs, Cabbage Patch adoptees. Delight in Mindfuling! Watch well your thoughts. "What's that?" Happy 2021. Great.  Okay, doing our best to list the 10seconds with each episode:  Do the math its not hard: #020= 20. 20*10=200. 200/6=33.3333, which will only confuse... OkOk, the way to figure out the seconds we are looking at, pretty much is: take the base ten version of the episode number, multiply it by 10 which gives you the "up to" or last second. Subtract 10 and you get the beginning second. Convert the seconds to minutes as the Disney counter does this...So this episode is 3'10s to 3'20seconds.  But don't get all attached. Relax, things will munge. Lots of sizzle and fry and cake. Cake is almost as grand as pie. Dinosaurs. Chickens. UggGusting. Bock. Gold Wonder= C3PO. Extraterrestrial Avi Loeb rocks despite hanging on the wrong side of the rivah. Pretty sure. Mouth noises. Pancake Sail. Popeye.  With the world ablaze why is there laughter, why is there joy? C3PO offers a assessment, a prognostication that is perhaps glamorous in its doom. Doomed is the translation for the persnickety one. It easier to say taupe than it is to spell it. Finally some dialogue. Well, sort of. AI that talks in the past but it's like the future this Star Warzy 77 thing. This could be the last mashin of Empire as the density of the 10 seconds is growing... So much Star Wars 77, so little time. Did you hear that? An Arp 2600. R2D2600. Stan and Olly. Forbidden— no its The Hidden Fortress! Dedraggled peasants are C3PO and R2... If for company you find a wise and prudent friend who leads a skillful life you should overcome all impediments and keep in touch and in joyous mindful company. Dhammapada Ch 23 Sec. 328

Realism and Star Wars. Finally a space ship interior (the Tantive IV Runner)  and its run by droids! Awwwe no, at the end of 10sec there are the pasty humans, the resistance, clearly under equipped. Devo! Water drinking seconds by Moxie. Tranquility. Michigan Mitten. Smitten. Deep in the mitten. Oh, Switch off! Roseanne Barr. Leia. Laya. Chewy can kiss good. Princess tomato. This is a Captain Zafu from Zabuton Docuthing. The world does not know that we must must all come to an end here; but those who know it, their quarrels cease at once. Dhammapada Ch.1 Paragraph 6 (this is from the Dover translation entitled Wisdom of the Buddha. Its a neutered non-numbered sort of paragraph based, very western and generally way off base, transmutation of the Dhammapada by Max Mueller).

We are at 2:20 to 2:30. Spaceships brushing our face. And Han can really point! And Mandolorian returns to THE cantina and a character from the very dark background is up front and so delightfully goofy. These are trying times, earthquakes and all. Finally some real laser cannons, space harmonica and howling Doppler for very close to the time the Spaceballs ship extends across film-time. Beware the false ending and the really long beginnings. Finally a space ship and sound design reborn! And look at Harrison's hair toss! The Sounds of Star Wars by Rinzler but its a Lucas Film thing before Disney.  A super rich, and heavy, multimedia coffee table book that's worth tracking down on the secondary. Subtract 10 from that and you get the start second. Of course the accrued minutes are what was divisible. This is science but it really is just a description of a way it's not the actual listening!

The density and fabric, the weave of Scifi Buddha deepens. Lush and sound rich. Maybe too rich for the tribble in you? The Empire Strikes Back Talkabout begins— not as slow as '77, quicker than 10seconds at a time but still, we will practice, we will incorporate, collage and take our time. I mean, with this first dip into the Empire Talkabout, the show on the screen and in the podcast hasn't even started! And it is only with this episode do we get the first Star Warzy words. A very dense soup is best consumed with little nibbles. Wait. Maybe that's popcorn. With the fourth set of tens we make it to the receding Star Wars Logo and a certain point of view! That title, A  New Hope, was not apart of the original release in 1977. Talk of The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original) is jabbered about. Fear, the base emotion, is recognized. Heavy theremin howled about. Beyond first contact, matter of factness is still a mindblower. Paul, the movie, not the host is recalled. Is Seth Rogan in it. Wait. What! Phew, take 10. Gah! Mistakes and rumination and Dirty Line making it all too real as we move up another ten seconds to a Long Time Ago.... Ok there is ellipsis, then there is ellipse, and don't forget ellipses.  Can you remember the difference between them all? No wonder Lucas threw in an extra dot — just to be safe, or something.
