Quick SummaryNicole Crone — co-founder of My Aligned Purpose and host of a podcast with over 600 episodes — joins Rain or Shine for a candid conversation about becoming a mom at 40 after years of not wanting kids, surviving a two-year fertility journey, and navigating one of the hardest eight-week stretches her business has faced. Along the way, she shares the systems, mindset tools, and rituals that keep her grounded — from "duvet days" to yearly word-of-the-year necklaces. In This EpisodeNicole's go-to rituals for decompressing after an overloaded weekHow she uses Claude and Cowork to organize her to-do list into an Eisenhower MatrixHer lifelong love of learning — human design, astrology, Kabbalah, and yogaThe surprising vision that changed her mind about wanting kidsA two-year fertility journey, including a pregnancy loss, and what it taught her about compassion and timingWhat she wishes she'd known about postpartum boundaries as an entrepreneurNavigating the hardest eight weeks in her business's six-and-a-half-year historyHer personal toolkit for processing hard emotions (solo drives, audiobooks, trusted masterminds)Her philosophy on what to share publicly versus keep private as a personal brandWhy My Aligned Purpose builds yearly themes, challenges, and rewards into its coaching programsKey TakeawaysName what your nervous system needs, and ask for it. Vocalizing a specific need — like a full "duvet day" with zero plans — is more restorative than defaulting to "productive" rest.Trust doesn't mean things happen on your timeline. Nicole's fertility journey taught her that "the universe delivers when you know what you want and why you want it" — but not necessarily on schedule.Take the time off you think you don't need. Plan for real postpartum (or any major life transition) downtime rather than assuming you'll want to keep working — you likely won't, and you'll regret cutting it short.Process alone before you process out loud. Solo time (a drive, a cry, a walk) before bringing a hard situation to trusted people helps you find your own direction before outside opinions can sway it.Build structure your community can buy into. Yearly themes, challenges, and rewards — borrowed straight from a teaching background — deepen engagement and retention in a business or program.Memorable Quotes"It's like it does feel really big right now, but it's not going to feel really big if I decide that it's not gonna take any more of my focus, and energy, and attention.""As Dan Martell says, '80% done by somebody else is 100% awesome.'"Resources MentionedNicole's Website: myalignedpurpose.comPodcast: My Aligned Purpose PodcastInstagram: @myalignedpurposeKelsey's Website: KelseyReidl.comKelsey's Instagram: @KelseyReidlTime as a Tool — Benjamin Hardy10x Is Easier Than 2x — Benjamin HardyWho Not HowHuman Design, astrology, numerology, Kabbalah (as ongoing personal studies)Claude + Cowork (for task organization via the Eisenhower Matrix)Melanie Auld (Vancouver-based jewelry brand, for the annual "word of the year" necklaces)Dan Martell (quoted concept: "80% done by somebody else is 100% awesome")About the GuestNicole Crone is the co-founder of My Aligned Purpose, a coaching and educational company she runs alongside business partner Kayla, and host of the My Aligned Purpose Podcast (600+ episodes). Send us a question/idea/opinion direct via text message! The underlying data is flashing clear warning signs of economic consolidation. This week on the New Zealand Property Market Podcast, Head of Research Nick Goodall and Chief Economist Kelvin Davidson dissect the latest New Zealand Activity Index (NZAC) and the Reserve Bank's weekly updated Kiwi GDP Nowcast. The metrics reveal a stark economic slowdown in Q2, dropping bank expectations for a July Official Cash Rate (OCR) increase into a decisive holding pattern as major institutions pull back their forecast increases. The structural highlight of the week centres on the newly released Reserve Bank mortgage lending data for May. For the first time in two solid years, year-on-year lending growth has ground to an absolute halt, printing a flat $8.6 billion line. We look past the national figures to uncover the real structural landscape: a massive $1.67 trillion asset baseline backed by just $398 billion in total debt. While an aggregate LVR of 24% suggests immense national stability, we expose the distribution trap masking the reality that one-third of New Zealand households carry 100% of the entire country's mortgage debt burden. This week we discuss:The GDP Proxy Pivot: Why the Reserve Bank's dynamic, weekly updated Kiwi GDP Nowcast is eclipsing the traditional NZAC index as a truer indicator of a flatlining Q2 economy. The Lending Streak Snapped: Dissecting May's flat $8.6 billion lending print and what it means for forward real estate velocity. The 24% Equity Illusion: Why a $1.67 trillion asset class hides the severe debt concentration weighing exclusively on the mortgaged third of the population.First-Home Buyer Domination: The raw deal metrics proving first-time buyers are actively expanding transaction volumes while movers collapse by 11%.The Landlord Tax Premium: How evolving political rhetoric from Labour and the Green Party regarding interest deductibility is shifting the long-term investor baseline.Sign up for news and insights or contact on LinkedIn, X @NickGoodall_CL or @KDavidson_CL and email ngoodall@cotality.com or kdavidson@cotality.comThis podcast is for educational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice. Iran's 14 points: making the world safe for Shia Theocracy. Obviously, Donald Trump putting his John Hancock to the Islamabad Memorandum at Versailles carries absolutely no historical resonance. We'll be picking through the carcrash, looking for signs of life in DC. Meanwhile, to cement his lousy week Donald got into a love tiff with Georgia Meloni at the G7. Was this a passing fugue of Italian passion? The flamethrower of a woman scorned? Or was it the beginning of the end of what we've dubbed the ‘Euroslopulists' – fake populists kept on a long-short leash by Brussels and the European Central Bank? Finally, Donald Trump – remember him – managed to scoop the world's press to the news that Keir Starmer would resign as British Prime Minister, being sure to spell his name wrong as a final boot in the teeth. Sir Keir has evoked the kind of visceral loathing among Brits normally reserved for child killers and queue jumpers. A woman walks into the office holding her phone, points at a stranger's before-and-after, and says she doesn't want that result. Dr. Luke Swistun's answer is almost always the same: that isn't you. The photo shows someone with different tissue, different proportions, and usually a different surgery — none of which predicts where her own breasts will settle.Dr. Swistun is the explant expert at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, and women fly into San Diego from all over to see him. With hostess Monique Ramsey, he walks through a single real before-and-after — the same woman at two months, six months, and two years — and explains what's swelling, what's final shape, and where the nipple sits relative to the breast fold (the landmarks that drive every decision). He covers why some women need a lift, some need fat grafting, and some need nothing at all, plus a delayed lower-pole skin excision done under local in about an hour, and serial fat grafting that builds a full B with no implant at all. The conversation lands on the part most women aren't ready for: how different they feel once the implants are gone. His rule for anyone afraid of the scars: do less, because you can always do more. The woman in that progression took it — removed the implants, waited, then tightened a little skin under local — and told him afterward they look exactly like they did in high school.LinksListen to more breast implant removal episodes:Fat Transfer, What Could Go Wrong? with Dr. SwistunPlastic Surgeon Clears Up Capsulectomy Confusion with Dr. SwistunPatient Janelle: Why I Had My Implants Removed After 22 YearsMeet San Diego plastic surgeon Dr. Luke SwistunLearn more about breast implant removal (explant)Questions answered by this episode1. Send us Fan MailThe fastest way to learn what we actually like is to make us choose. For our two-year anniversary closeout, we put two heavy hitters on the table and force a winner: our homemade Ottawa Apple versus the Lemoncello Mule that shocked us with how good it tasted. We break down what's in each drink, why one of them stays so hard to beat, and how a cocktail can feel “Epcot perfect” even when it comes from the most unexpected spot on a menu. From there, we go full year-two recap with the kind of ranked list you can use for your next Disney World trip or your next home cocktail night. We call out the worst drinks we tried, including the one that nailed its goal of tasting like French onion soup and still ended up being a total loss. We also talk about “disappointing” drinks that weren't broken, just not worth the hype, plus the honorable mentions we'd happily order again. Then we get to the fun part: our top five Disney cocktails of the year. We talk Jollywood Nights favorites, festival finds like a light floral English Garden, classics like a properly made Sazerac, and sleepers that got better as we drank them. We also share why we don't cover much Disney beer, how we pick drinks when menus keep changing, and which episode themes made this year stand out for us.If you've got a drink we need to try or a topic idea we should build an episode around, send it our way. Send us Fan MailBreaking news from the American Board of Pediatrics: a proposal to move all 15 pediatric subspecialties to a two-year, competency-based training model by July 2028 just dropped, and Ben and Daphna are breaking it down in real time. What does shifting from time-based to EPA-grounded training mean for neonatology fellows? Is two years actually enough? What happens to scholarship, research exposure, and the physician-scientist pipeline? And should neonatology take this reshuffling of the cards as an opportunity to chart its own course entirely? Send us Fan MailIn this Journal Club episode, Ben reviews a secondary analysis of the CALI trial, published in JAMA Network Open, examining two-year neurodevelopmental and pulmonary outcomes in preterm infants who received early caffeine combined with LISA versus caffeine and CPAP alone. Building on the original CALI trial's finding that early caffeine prior to LISA reduced intubation rates and BPD, this follow-up asks the next logical question: does that early advantage translate into better long-term outcomes? Ben walks through the Bayley scores, gross motor function, ASQ-3, M-CHAT, and pulmonary outcomes — and delivers a reassuring if not statistically significant picture.
