Send us a textWhat if everything you were taught about the nature of God was only half the story? In this bold, challenging, and deeply restorative Mother's Day message, Pastor Dan Minor flips the script on centuries of patriarchal theology. Drawing from Numbers 27 and the courageous protest of the daughters of Zelophehad, he reexamines how the Bible — and the church — have historically erased the feminine from the divine. From the silenced wisdom of women to the gendered erasure of terms like El Shaddai, Ruach, and Shekinah, Pastor Dan exposes how empire and control distorted the image of God into a one-dimensional male authority. With historical insight, scriptural depth, and honest repentance, he invites listeners to rediscover a God who nurtures, comforts, and empowers — not just as a Father, but as Mother too.Whether you're a mother by birth, by spirit, or simply someone who's ever felt unseen in church spaces, this episode is a clarion call to speak, to stand, and to reclaim your place in the sacred story.God didn't rebuke the daughters of Z — God affirmed them. And maybe it's time the church did too. Send us a textIn this soul-shaking, unapologetic episode of the Harvest Sarasota Podcast, Pastor Stan Mitchell delivers a raw and redemptive message that strips away the polite pretenses of church tradition and dives deep into the radical inclusivity of the Gospel. With the storytelling brilliance of a weathered preacher and the urgency of a prophet, Mitchell walks us through John 9—not as a theological text, but as a living, breathing cry for justice, belonging, and visibility.Mitchell doesn't merely preach; he exposes the wounds of religion, the pain of families divided by doctrine, and the betrayal felt by those cast out by the very institutions that claimed to love them. He elevates the story of the blind man healed by Jesus as a holy mirror, reflecting the experience of countless LGBTQ+ individuals who have been seen as problems instead of people. The message is piercing: Jesus saw a person. His followers saw a theological issue. This episode is not just for the deconstructed or the disenfranchised. It's for every parent caught between church and child. Every pastor afraid to step into the full light of truth. Every listener longing to know if there's still a place called home where healing isn't questioned and identity isn't up for debate. If you've ever been told your story doesn't fit inside the church—this episode will tell you otherwise. This is not just a conversation. It's a commissioning. A wake-up call. A reintroduction to a Jesus who still turns around and comes looking for the ones left behind.**"You're not tolerated here," Mitchell declares. "You're celebrated." Send us a textForget the comforting traditions—this Easter, Harvest Sarasota boldly asked, "Are we denying the resurrection with our lives?" In this provocative sermon, we unpack the revolutionary reality of Jesus' resurrection beyond mere belief, challenging our complicity with injustice, inequality, and oppression. Pastor Dan Minor urges us to confront uncomfortable truths: when we ignore racism, homophobia, sexism, poverty, and every form of exclusion, we're effectively denying the transformative power of resurrection itself.Drawing inspiration from Mary Magdalene—the overlooked woman whose radical solidarity defied societal norms—we're called to revolutionary living, fierce advocacy, and persistent compassion. It's not enough to celebrate a historical event; it's time to embody it by standing boldly with the marginalized and silenced.Join us as we reject hollow proclamations and affirm a faith that demands action. Send us a textWhat if the Bible has been used often to destroy instead of to redeem? What if sticking to "biblical precedent" can at times actually puts us at odds with the Spirit of Jesus? In this bold and unfiltered episode of Harvest Sarasota, Pastor Dan is taking a sledgehammer to the toxic theology that has justified everything from condemnation to oppression—all in the name of scripture."Just because the Bible says it doesn't mean you should do it." We're diving deep into Luke 9, where Jesus shuts down the disciples' fiery vengeance inspired by Elijah. Because here's the hard truth: You can be backed by scripture and still be completely out of sync with Jesus. And history proves it—slavery, segregation, religious wars, the suppression of women, and the exclusion of the LGBTQ+ community have all been biblically justified but spiritually misaligned. If it's not bringing redemption, restoration, and love—it's not the Spirit of Jesus. So, what spirit are YOU operating in? Join us as we confront the ways the church has missed it, challenge harmful interpretations, and call for a radical return to grace, inclusion, and the redemptive heart of Christ. Send us a textIn this episode, we explore a universal truth that transcends time and belief systems: the quest for identity. From the earliest stories of humanity, like Adam and Eve in the garden, we see how a single deception shifted our understanding of ourselves and the world. The serpent's lie wasn't about breaking a rule—it was about distorting our sense of who we are. We'll revisit the Genesis narrative, where Adam and Eve hid from their source of love, creating a false image of themselves and of God. This ancient story echoes through time, speaking to the way we still grapple with questions of identity today. Drawing from wisdom across various spiritual traditions, we reflect on how our distorted self-image has led to separation, fear, and confusion. But the journey doesn't stop there. This episode explores how wholeness and true identity can be rediscovered, not by following rigid rules, but by embracing the deeper truth of our oneness with the divine and with each other. We are reminded that identity is not something we have to achieve—it's something we are born into. This episode invites listeners of all backgrounds to reflect on their own journey of identity, wholeness, and belonging. No longer nameless or formless, we are each part of a greater whole, connected in love and purpose. Listen as we explore what it means to move from separation into unity, and from fear into freedom. Send us a textIn Order, Disorder, Reorder, we explore the transformative spiritual journey that every person and community must undertake. Drawing from biblical wisdom and the evolution of human experience, this podcast dives into the universal pattern of growth: moving from a place of security and structure (Order), through the challenges and disorientation of change (Disorder), to the enlightened peace that comes with renewal (Reorder). If you are journeying through deconstruction or questioning your traditional faith, this wisdom pattern will allow you to brush off the opinions of the people around you and stay focused on the beauty of discovering new life on the other side of evangelicalism.Inspired by John 12:24, we examine how spiritual growth requires the death of old ways to bear the fruit of transformation. Like the journey of Israel, the "womb of the Incarnation," each stage of life reveals deeper layers of faith, wisdom, and understanding. Through stories of suffering, success, and everything in between, we learn to embrace the paradoxes of life—where darkness and light coexist, and where everything belongs.Join us as we unpack these stages of life and faith, discovering how love, faith, and hope guide us through uncertainty toward the only thing that endures: the deep, indestructible presence of God in every moment. Send us a text“Righteousness” without justice always manifests as hate. Explore the 2 commandments that Jesus told his disciples that replaced the law of Moses and how for generations we have cherry picked Mosaic laws to justify shaming people into conformance. Meaningless conversation is often disguised in religious eloquence. Just because it sounds sincere, doesn't make it true. What if love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are the the only laws for spiritual governance and everything must flow from that.
