Exciting news: The Humphrey Group has been acquired by Humance! In this special episode of The Inspire Podcast, Bart Egnal speaks with Bernard Letendre, Managing Partner, Ontario and Western Canada at Humance, about the story behind this decision and the journey that led him there. Bernard shares his remarkable career path from practicing law to leading major divisions in Canada's financial services industry, to joining Humance and becoming the architect behind its acquisition of The Humphrey Group. Along the way, he reflects on lessons learned about taking risks, creating opportunities rather than waiting for them, and pursuing growth with purpose. He also draws powerful parallels between leadership and his lifelong practice of judo, where discipline, humility, and mutual benefit are essential to success. Bart and Bernard close with an inside look at how the merger came to be after a year of conversation and a shared vision for growth, and how it will set both organizations up to continue serving their clients in existing and new ways. Whether you're navigating your own career transitions or leading through change, this conversation offers powerful insights on creating your own opportunities, embracing non-linear growth, and finding strength in partnership. Send us a textIn the 4th century AD, two Christian friends - Basil and Gregory - travelled from Cappadocia to Athens to go study Greek literature with Libanius, the leading rhetorician of the time. While there, these two young and wealthy Cappadocians befriended a fellow student named Julian, the nephew of the Emperor Constantine. There in Athens, the three young Christians mastered Greek philosophy and rhetoric at Libanius' feet. Later on, Basil went on to become the bishop of Caesarea, one of the architects of orthodoxy's victory over the Arian heresy, and was later named a "Doctor of the Church." His friend Gregory of Nazianzus rose to become one of the foremost preachers and theologians in church history. And their friend Julian became Emperor - and having repudiated the Christian faith, attempted to turn the newly Christian Roman Empire pagan again. Clearly, as the example of Julian the Apostate shows, pagan mythology and literature pose a danger to Christian faith. But can pagan learning serve Christian faith as well? Jonathan and Ryan are joined, once again, by the Rev. Calvin Goligher to discuss St. Basil of Caesarea's "Address to Young Men on the Right Use of Greek Literature," in which he answers heartily in the affirmative, and explains how to use Greek poetry, philosophy, and history for the edification of young Christian students. In this episode, from a chapel service held on Tuesday 12 August 2025, Tony Payne, Director of the Centre for Christian Living and Lecturer in the Theology, Philosophy and Ethics Department of Moore Theological College, speaks on Philippians 1:1-11 and Paul's prayer for the Philippians.Tony reminds us that knowledge and discernment are integral to the growth of love, because love always has an object: what we love is often determined by our knowledge. What does it mean to play sports for the glory of God? How do you keep someone from tying their identity to their success in sports? And why do parents sometimes have a greater interest in their child's success in sports than the child himself/herself? We'll answer these questions and more with our guest, our Talbot colleague in theology, Dr. Erik Thoennes. Erik Thoennes is committed to teaching theology so that he and his students love God and people more fully. He strives to make the necessary connections between the study of theology, obedience to Jesus and fulfilling the Great Commission. He has been teaching college students for over 30 years and has been a pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church La Mirada since 2001. Erik is a frequent guest speaker at churches, conferences and retreats. He received the University award for faculty excellence and professor of the year twice. His research interests include godly jealousy, the atonement, the exclusivity of Christ and theology of culture, sport/play/competition, and humor. ==========Think Biblically: Conversations on Faith and Culture is a podcast from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University, which offers degrees both online and on campus in Southern California. So here we are, at the end of the world as we know it. Facing the beginning(s) of a world of unknowns and uncertainties, along with some definitely frightening realities and some resilient, grounded convictions. Where do we go from here? And how do we get there? Both are uncertain, but in this case putting the “how” before the “where” is exactly what we need to carry us through. For the church, the “how” is together: “the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together. You are one body and one spirit, just as God also called you in one hope.” (Eph 4:4).

This week I'm bringing something hot & slightly controversial to the podcast: MANIFESTING WITH GOD Lately, I have been seeing online and even had a past client tell me, "I'm going to stop following you now because I found Jesus," as if manifesting and God/Source, Jesus, The Light, have nothing to do with one another. I believe God is the ultimate manifestor - He created day and night, heaven and earth, you and me. That DNA and power live within each of us. What we do with it is another question. When we join forces with God/Source, we can create good. When we disconnect from this Power, we can create unpleasant and sometimes painful experiences. This episode is not a preachy, religious thing. It's intended to grant a safe path for you to rediscover and reconnect to something bigger and greater within and outside of you so that you are creating the business and life always intended for you (one of ease, joy, soul service, and true fulfillment). I believe some interpretations and teachers of religion sometimes unintentionally disconnect us from our innate knowing and power by instilling fear, guilt, and judgment, which is the opposite of God/Source/Light. So in this episode, I was joined by my friend and Christian Business Coach, Diane Cunningham, to give you a real and supportive point of view of manifesting + God. She shares her story of manifesting with and without God We discuss whether manifesting with God exists within the bible What helped her recover from 14 years of drinking and overcoming other dark times in her personal life How she uses her story to help others now How to manifest without God (ie, create dysfunction, disconnection to Self, and pain) How to feel connected to God during dark times, especially with the state of the world 3 pillars on manifesting with God from Diane 1 powerful tool to manifest with God from Minerva If you enjoyed this, we would love to hear from you. Leave a comment or review. To connect with Diane, visit her site: https://dianecunningham.com/ To anchor into your Higher Power and power within you and start manifesting faster and grander than ever before in your business and life, then you'll want to jump into my new group program, Super Human Mastermind! 1st month free until July 1st | Visit here to learn more ➡️ https://www.goddessofwisdom.ca/super-human-mastermind
Ruth replied, “Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” — Ruth 1:16 A few years ago Erika's mother passed away from cancer. Erika's mother was a sister to Stephanie, so Stephanie is Erika's aunt. Despite their loss, Erika and Stephanie share a bond that is exceptionally close for an aunt and niece. They cook together, share meals, and travel from Michigan to Chicago nearly every Sunday for worship. On the Sunday when Erika and Stephanie became members at our church, we read the story of Ruth and Naomi, focusing on the line “Where you go I will go. . . . Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth and Naomi experienced deep grief together; Ruth's husband, who had died, was Naomi's son. Yet they chose to embrace one another and face the grief and unknown together as they sought community in Bethlehem, Naomi's old hometown. Grief and hardship can leave you looking around and realizing, “This is it; these are my people. And I can remain bitter, or I can take a step toward healing with the ones God has given me.” Some losses cannot be replaced, and yet opportunities and blessings can emerge as new gifts, offering comfort, hope, and companionship. I'm grateful to God that Naomi and Ruth had each other, and that Erika and Stephanie do too. Whom has God brought into your life, offering gifts and companionship to help you? Lord, guide and comfort us in our grief, and help us to support one another with grace and love. In Jesus, Amen.
Worship is a communal celebration, not a solo activity. Psalm 122 reminds us of the joy and strength found in gathering with God's people. Reflection Question: Who in your life helps you grow closer to God?
Scott talks about his son's recent graduation and the lessons he was reminded of about the power of community and how we are best able "to go far when we go together."
In this heartfelt and dynamic episode of Inspiration Nation, Lee, Ryan, and Jose reunite to explore the timeless African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." With honesty and humor, the trio dives deep into the pros and cons of solo versus collaborative work, drawing on personal stories of control, ego, and growth. Ryan opens up about the challenges of delegation and trust while working abroad, Lee reflects on overcoming his control-freak tendencies, and Jose ties their journey back to the very roots of the podcast—demonstrating the power of going far together. The episode's central quote underscores the theme of growth through connection: "Achievement without connection often feels empty. When you grow with others, you create deeper meaning, stronger resilience, and lasting impact." Whether you're a leader, creator, or team member, this conversation is a potent reminder that real progress comes not from going it alone but from building with others.

If the 24/7/365 news cycle leaves you feeling anxious about the state of the world, Paths to Understanding offers a way of engaging locally in building community. As Viveka relates, "When we are in deep community, that makes us feel most alive -- and that is the truest way of being."

Send us a textIn this episode we eat on these blue zones that have been researched and studied in our world today. These blue zones are places on this earth where there exist "centenarians" which are people who have lived longer than 100 years. What has been found through decades of research on these centenarians and their habits, diet, exercise and sleep patters is that the real difference in them and most others is not necessarily what they do but WHO they do it with. In this episode, we look into how God not only says "it is NOT GOOD for man to be alone..." but the dangers that exist in loneliness and isolation. The book of Ecclesiastes seems to have a solution to all of this in 4:9-11. In essence, you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, GO TOGETHER.
On this episode, Gina talks with 3 very intentional, very missional people who have just released a new book designed for people like you and me who want to start living an intentionally missional lifestyle with others. Mark & Jacolien Van Den Steenhoven and Sharon Earl are the authors of "GO (together) & MAKE: Seven Practical Stepping Stones to Help You Learn a Missional Lifestyle," and they're here to tell their stories and to explain how this resource can help you better live a lifestyle of everyday mission.www.3dmovements.comGO (together) & MAKE: Seven Practical Stepping Stones to Help You Learn a Missional Lifestyle
I Samuel 30:1-5 (NIV) David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both young and old. They killed none of them but carried them off as they went on their way. When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel I Samuel 30:6-7 (NIV) David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him, Own Your Spirit Pray for Guidance I Samuel 30:8 (NIV) …and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” Go Together I Samuel 30:9 (NIV) David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind. Expect Recovery I Samuel 30:18 (NIV) David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken…

Our goal this Sunday is to bridge the gap between Matthew and 1 Corinthians, we will do that by taking a look at how Acts calls us to live into community. Last week, Chris challenged us to “Take a leap of faith and live into the resurrection, which reshapes family, purpose, and presence”. Church, we are taking the leap into the resurrected life, and where we go…We Go Together, and we can only go together through the power and grace of the Holy Spirit.
Henry wonders how much do we let our religious beliefs cloud our view of what we view as blessings?
