In this episode, I'm excited to welcome back Katrin Kupas, a statistician with deep expertise in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and real world evidence (RWE). We dive into how RWE and the new Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) process in Europe can work together—and where the challenges lie. As the JCA becomes more central in EU regulatory and reimbursement discussions, knowing how and when to use real world data is critical. Katrin shares practical use cases, methodological guidance, and strategic insights for integrating RWE into early planning.
If you want a vivid reminder of just how hospitable the Magic Skagit can be, show up at the Lincoln Theater in downtown Mount Vernon at 7pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 for a public gathering of your friends and neighbors through a program known as "Let's Go Together." The free event offers music and fellowship with the simple agenda of connecting people through the power of face-to-face relationships.Let's Go Together invites people of all cultures, faith traditions, ethnic identities and socioeconomic situations to work together for the common good, and it is one programmatic element of an organization called Paths to Understanding (PTU), which provides a vision, preparation, and practical support for wisdom communities to build meaningful relationships with their neighbors. In this Tales of the Magic Skagit episode, we talk with Viveka Hall-Holt, PTU's events coordinator, about the history of her organization and the journey that led her to its mission of "bridging bias and building unity through multi-faith peacemaking." If the 24/7/365 news cycle leaves you feeling anxious about the state of the world, Paths to Understanding offers a way of engaging locally in building community. As Viveka relates, "When we are in deep community, that makes us feel most alive -- and that is the truest way of being."

Send us a textIn this episode we eat on these blue zones that have been researched and studied in our world today. These blue zones are places on this earth where there exist "centenarians" which are people who have lived longer than 100 years. What has been found through decades of research on these centenarians and their habits, diet, exercise and sleep patters is that the real difference in them and most others is not necessarily what they do but WHO they do it with. In this episode, we look into how God not only says "it is NOT GOOD for man to be alone..." but the dangers that exist in loneliness and isolation. The book of Ecclesiastes seems to have a solution to all of this in 4:9-11. In essence, you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, GO TOGETHER.
On this episode, Gina talks with 3 very intentional, very missional people who have just released a new book designed for people like you and me who want to start living an intentionally missional lifestyle with others. I Samuel 30:1-5 (NIV) David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both young and old. They killed none of them but carried them off as they went on their way. When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel I Samuel 30:6-7 (NIV) David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him, Own Your Spirit Pray for Guidance I Samuel 30:8 (NIV) …and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” Go Together I Samuel 30:9 (NIV) David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind. Expect Recovery I Samuel 30:18 (NIV) David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken…

Our goal this Sunday is to bridge the gap between Matthew and 1 Corinthians, we will do that by taking a look at how Acts calls us to live into community. Last week, Chris challenged us to “Take a leap of faith and live into the resurrection, which reshapes family, purpose, and presence”. Church, we are taking the leap into the resurrected life, and where we go…We Go Together, and we can only go together through the power and grace of the Holy Spirit.
