Theology on Air is a weekly radio show/podcast that explores the truth claims of Christianity, often through the eyes of non-Christians. Agnostics, atheists, skeptics, and people of other faiths discuss and debate the issues of the day and the timeless questions of the past. We'll dig deep into phil…
The Theology on Air podcast is an exceptional platform that handles complex and controversial subjects with grace and intelligence. Presented by a skilled hostess, this podcast invites insightful guests to engage in productive dialogues that explore various topics from a Christian and philosophical perspective. The podcast excels at fostering respectful conversations and provides an excellent resource for those seeking qualified discussions on matters of faith and beyond.
One of the best aspects of The Theology on Air podcast is the hostess's ability to curate a diverse range of guests who offer unique perspectives on the subject matter. Whether it's theologians, philosophers, or scholars from different fields, these guests bring depth and expertise to the discussions. The hostess also does a commendable job moderating these conversations, ensuring that all voices are heard while maintaining a respectful atmosphere. This allows listeners to gain insights from various viewpoints and consider different approaches to the topics being explored.
Another strong point of this podcast is its focus on substantial subjects that generate meaningful conversations. By choosing topics that many people disagree about, The Theology on Air podcast encourages listeners to engage with differing opinions in a constructive manner. This commitment to addressing contentious issues helps foster intellectual growth and critical thinking while promoting empathy and understanding among individuals with differing beliefs. Moreover, the prompts used by the moderators are balanced, allowing for well-rounded discussions that explore different facets of each topic.
Despite its many positive qualities, there are some areas where The Theology on Air podcast could be improved. One aspect worth mentioning is that occasionally certain perspectives may be underrepresented or omitted altogether from the discussions. While it is impossible to include every viewpoint within a limited timeframe, efforts can be made to ensure a broader range of perspectives are represented to provide more comprehensive insights into the topics being discussed.
In conclusion, The Theology on Air podcast stands out as an exemplary platform for hosting intelligent and insightful conversations surrounding Christianity and philosophy. Its ability to tackle contentious subjects with grace makes it an invaluable resource for individuals seeking well-informed discussions. While there may be room for improvement in terms of representation, the podcast's commitment to respectful dialogue and exploration of differing viewpoints is commendable. By providing a space for qualified discussions on Christian and philosophical questions, The Theology on Air podcast serves as an excellent source of intellectual stimulation and edification.
Evan and Ken have a spirited debate about whether Christians should vote. Evan argues that, yes, Christians should vote for the sake of exercising dominion and enacting the Christian worldview. Ken says that Christians may abstain as we are rarely presented good options. The audience will play the role as judge, so you get to decide!
Past panelist and first-time WPR-er Josh Crawford joins us early in the week for this episode of White Pill Radio. We take some deep dives on how Christinas should view immigration, national sovereignty, and the very complicated humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Thanks for listening!
Dr. Owen Anderson joins us to talk about his fights in the university setting against DEI, especially when it can limit Christian expression.
It was great to have James Prather - published poet! - stop by as our resident Catholic to offer some thoughts on the ongoing conclave in Rome. We also talked about some strange celebration of evil taking place, a local scandal in Houston at a megachurch, Washington state revoking the confessional seal, and using food stamps for junk food.
Pastor Jim Stern and Counselor Mat Yelvington join Sarah and Evan as a kind of follow up to a previous episode on homelessness. To what degree do those who find themselves in the throes of mental illness actually have a spiritual problem? How much is the problem spiritual vs. mental or something like a chemical imbalance? What are the solutions or cures for these problems? Keep listening for a fascinating conversation! And as always, check out Theology by the Pint to learn how you can support us or attend our next live event!
Thanks to Ken and Taylor for joining Sarah and Evan for this week's White Pill Radio episode. We look at who the next pope may be, some controversial remarks made by RFK, Jr. on autism, the UK's PM saying trans women are not women, the wide roller coaster ride of the stock market, and what Christians should think about immigration and due process.
Is there a war on men? What is a man? How have culture, and the church, been shaped by feminism? How is toxic masculinity different from Biblical masculinity? Instead of listening to the Andrew Tates or the 4th Wave Feminists, let's have the conversation ourselves over some good craft beer. (If watching on YouTube, we allow you to drink craft beer at home, too.) Kort Marley and Kelly Edmiston will be setting up the evening and then we'll have a large format group discussion where you can text your own questions in to our larger panel of pastors and professors.
Author Brian Lantz joins Evan to take a look at his new book on the "physical economy." What does this phrase mean? How far back does it go into our unique American system of production? Why should Christians think about economics? Shouldn't we just talk about salvation and whatnot? Here is a link to his book.
Cody Pogue joins Sarah and Evan as we look at a wide range of issues from whether Derek Chauvin should be pardoned, whether these tariffs are a good idea, how to succeed at long-form podcasting, and some of Trump's flops. Remember to learn more at www.theologybythepint.org.
At this live TBTP "mini" event, we look at how much "R-rated" content Christians can consume in TV, film, music, etc. Do we need to know what is going on in the culture? For how long should our children be protected from such content? Thanks to our speakers for offering their time and thoughts!
Mace Perez and Taylor Neill join Sarah and Evan to look at headlines and more, including the end of the Department of Education, a fascinating exchange on Jubilee, a lament of America's witchy history, a Facebook post proudly defending social justice, and a look at what Trump needs to do to truly be a visionary leader.
Prolific author and apologist Dr. Lydia McGrew joins us to look at the reliability of the Bible. She specifically addresses a disagreement that came up on a previous episode that asked if the Gospel writes may have made mistakes or intentional changes to better suit the narrative. Dr. McGrew looks at her life's work as well, including the many coincidences in the Gospels that give them authenticity.
Hear from a two opposing viewpoints on whether Christians should engage with New Age practices:Mary Ann Thomson was saved out of the world of spiritualism. She grew up learning about a discarnate entity named "Seth," seeking mediums and psychics for major life decisions, and being a member of a cult camp.Wesleigh Rushing is a self-proclaimed "Christian Medium" who claims the Bible allows for divination and witchcraft when it's used for healing. Then text your questions into our larger panel including our very own king of woo-woo, professor Austin Freeman, another self-proclaimed "Christian Reiki healer," and Philosopher and Professor, Brad Finkbeiner.
Author and prolific YouTuber Melissa Dougherty joins us to look at her newest book, Happy Lies. She talks about her background in the new age/new thought world and the dangers of that coming to the American Church.
Ken and Evan take a look at this week's headlines including Trump's feud with Maine's governor over boys in girls' sports, whether America should be taking Ukraine's minerals, and Jeff Bezos becoming patriotic all of a sudden.
Okay, for those of you looking for something extra substantive, this podcast is for you. Jonathan Brack joins Austin Freeman, Sarah, and Evan to look at the different views of apologetics. Does the classical approach or the presuppositional approach offer the best way forward? Does the changing apologetic landscape make a difference? Buckle up!
Pr. Evan McClanahan and Fr. Brad Sullivan have a friendly debate on how Christian charity is best expressed, especially as it relates to the homelessness epidemic facing many major American cities. Pr. McClanahan is the pastor at First Lutheran in Houston, which is only a few blocks from Fr. Sullivan's church, the Episcopal Church Lord of the Streets. Do we need more money? Should we demand more accountability? Are we enabling homelessness or solving it? We explore these questions and many more!
So much news and so little time! We look at the dramatic and sweeping moves that Trump and Co. have made and examine their moral impact, especially as it relates to immigration, labor, and the war in Israel. Thanks to Ken and Cody for stopping by! And remember, we can't do this without our listeners and supporters ofTBTP!

Remember how our last episode only had like one topic? Well, we cover 8 topics in just over an hour in this topic-a-palooza. Sarah, Evan, and Cody look at the LA fires, Richard Dawkins leaving the FFRF, net neutrality, euthanasia in Canada, and much more.

A relatively light episode in terms of the number of stories, but a deeper dive into two serious issues. The first article looks at how abortion can be considered a states rights issue if slavery can't be. The second issue looks at James Lindsey's trolling of the American Reformer with an article celebrating Christian Nationalism using the Communist Manifest. That leads to a long conversation about a topic brewing big-time in Reformed circles, the Post War Consensus. What it is, is it a problem, what is the response. Thanks to Ken and Max for stopping by!

Is our "image" the same thing as our "identity?" Can we choose our gender? Are there more than two? In an age when we can curate our image on social media, does that also mean we can curate who we ARE? Are image and identity the same? Do we decide or discover our identity? How does our theology inform gender ideology? Who does God say you are? Beth White serves as our main speaker and we had a sound system outage during introductions for the panel. The panel includes the following: John Eigege, Mac Gervais, Beth White, Jordan Hylden, and Aubrey Spears.
We look at lots of headlines surrounding more election response and Trump's agenda. But we begin with a consideration of Thanksgiving. We hope you are listening while basting a turkey or preparing a pumpkin pie.

We look at the upcoming election and what we think might happen, Amazon's hit show (not the LOTR one), Andy Stanley boiling Christianity down to two miracles, and whether Trump really wants Liz Cheney to be executed.
Theology by the Pint headed up north for our first foray into The Woodlands, as we discussed how Faith intersects with Politics. Conservative and Progressive Pastors shared their differing perspectives and then audience members texted in questions to a larger panel and listened as they answered, disagreed, joked, sparred, and drank delicious craft beer. Juan Carlos Martinez, PCA, explained his defense of Team Red while David Hansen, ELCA, supports Team Blue. Enjoy!

A TBTP LIVE EVENT: As the presidential election gets closer, let's do the thing you're never supposed to do and - talk about politics and religion! Republican Austin Freeman (who will be voting for Trump) and Christian Democrat, Josh Crawford (who will be voting for Harris) explain how their faith informs their ballot-casting. Don't worry, we'll have a Libertarian there too - Doug Stuart from the Libertarian Christian Institute! Our larger panel in the second half of the night will includes Evan McClanahan and Cody Pogue.

A lot of spicy topics on this week's White Pill Radio. We look at a lot of election news as well as some strange comments by Pope Francis.
Dr. Mike Licona of Houston Christian University joins Sarah and Evan to look at his new book, Jesus, Contradicted. The book is an easier to read version of Licona's doctoral work that challenges the assertions of unbelievers concerning "contradictions" in the New Testament. Licona argues that the Gospels are ancient biographies and, as such, have content that reflects that genre. Thanks to Dr. Licona for joining us!
Cody and friend C join Sarah and Evan for this week's White Pill Radio. We look at a bizarre warning from the Surgeon General that parenting can be dangerous, the recently released manifesto by the Trans shooter of Covenant Presbyterians school last year, Trump's statement that we need more religion, and whether it's a good idea to allow those married to citizens to also become citizens. Oh, and a bit about Burning Man and God's judgement and a grammatical quibble with the Harris campaign. Oh, and Harmonia Stellarum was rehearsing in the next room. So it isn't angels in your presence...just an angelic choir in the background. Remember, the studio is in a church building!
How much choice to we have in our lives? Is everything already predetermined and mapped out? Even our salvation/faith? Or do we have the freedom to decide everything from who we date/marry, what job we take, where to live, and ...whether to follow Jesus or not? (And if we do own that choice...can we also opt out?) Join us as we revisit a classic debate that has baffled humanity for roughly a bajillion years (well...at least for a couple thousand).
Sarah and Evan gather for part two of this episode to look at more cultural news, including how to say Kamala's name, the abortion bus at the DNC, 200 Holy Grails in Europe, and more gender confusion.
We admit it, Ken and Evan are not economists. But they do have a healthy distrust of the Federal Reserve and that goes a long way. In the wake of political promises to fix "price gouging," the offer of $25K for home buyers, and never-ending inflation, Ken and Evan look at what inflation really is and what Christian money and monetary policy might look like. If you're a little on the wonkish side, this episode is for you. Sarah and Evan will have a Part 2 that looks at more of the cultural issues. Stephen Curto and Steven Hiller offer an introduction to Dispensationalism. Perhaps the most widely-held theological system in America, it is often known best for the "Left Behind" series or the Scofield Bible. On an interview with Tucker Carlson recently, John Rich seemed to speak of it as a dangerous theology, at least some understandings of it. But what is it? Is it bad? Good? What is the tribulation and why is there so much disagreement about when the rapture and the tribulation will be? Does Dispensationalism predict the end of the world? Stephen Curto and Steven Hiller are both graduates of Dallas Theological Seminary, perhaps best-known for being founded as a Dispensational school. So we cover the basics today on this very important theological tradition!
Ken and Cody join Sarah and Evan as we discuss the latest headlines. We look at the controversy at the Olympics regarding XY (male?) boxers fighting YY (female?) boxers, two sad stories involving abortion, and we ask whether political candidates should, you know, have a platform publicly displayed somewhere.
It's another bowl of cherries on White Pill Radio! We have a first time guest, Cody Pogue, to talk with Mace and Evan about Vice President Harris' rise to the top of the nomination, the ironic death of a pastor/scholar's church, and the homelessness crisis in America (that VP Harris may have commented on in the past.) Cody is more in the political left camp, so we are glad he could join us today for a bit more balance. He'll definitely be back!
Sarah and Evan are joined by two guests to talk about an absolutely wild news cycle. Past guest and speaker Stephen Curto joins us to talk about his movement from being something like a Never Trumper to deciding to vote for him after the assassination attempt. We also had a first-time guest join us! We look at the impact of the assassination attempt, whether Christians can vote for Trump, and what really has changed in the political landscape in our lifetimes.
