Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner are getting ready for the new MLB 2025 season. The guys talk American League in this episode. Talk future wagers, division predictions and much more. The 2025 American League season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory, especially in the AL East, where the Yankees, Red Sox, and Orioles are tightly packed in both talent and odds. The Central appears more top-heavy, with Cleveland underrated despite strong pitching depth, while the Royals and Tigers eye developmental leaps. The AL West showcases turmoil with the Angels and Athletics at the bottom, while the Astros aim to stay relevant despite shedding stars. Notably, injury concerns and bullpen strength dominate conversations. Betting-wise, the hosts take varied stances, with crossfires on the Red Sox and consistent skepticism around Toronto, the White Sox, and the Angels.

Welcome to Episode 74 of Tablesetters! We're joined by a multi-platform voice in Tampa sports—Ryan Bass, who covers the Rays for FanDuel Sports Network Sun, reports nationally for NewsNation, and hosts with the Orlando Magic. We dive into everything shaping the 2025 Tampa Bay Rays season, starting with the unfortunate injury to Shane McClanahan and what it means for the Opening Day rotation. Ryan gives us the latest on McClanahan's status, clubhouse morale, and how the Rays plan to pivot. We explore the emergence of Curtis Mead after a scorching spring, Junior Caminero's slow start (despite the power), and whether the Rays will pursue a long-term extension for this potential cornerstore. Plus, Ryan breaks down Drew Rasmussen's comeback, Joe Boyle's upside, and the futures of Chandler Simpson and Carson Williams. We also step back to assess the AL East: Who's the team to beat? How do the Rays stack up against the Yankees, Orioles, Jays, and Red Sox in what may be baseball's most brutal division? From the front office's prospect-heavy trades to ongoing ballpark drama and ownership tensions, Ryan offers behind-the-scenes insight into a franchise at a crossroads. And we close with a fun one—Ryan's Mount Rushmore of Tampa Bay athletes, with some surprises in the mix. Fantasy Baseball Live – December 22, 2024Segment 1 – News and Notes – Trades and Signings1.The first basemen who are available are getting jobs.a.The Astros signed Christian Walker for 3 years and $60 million.i.The new-look Astros have Isaac Paredes at third and Walker at first. In the outfield, there is Jake Myers, Chas McCormack, and a yet-to-be-hired left fielder. How are you feeling if you're an Astros fan?ii.Do you think the Diamondbacks will go to battle with Pavin Smith at first base?1.The answer is no, as they acquired Josh Naylor from the Guardians for RHP Slade Cecconi and the 2nd round balance pick. Then the Guardians turn around and sign old favorite, Carlos Santanaa. What is the thinking here with the Guardians?b.Kyle Manzardo appears to be heading for DH duties. Is this good for fantasy manages long-term?c.Do you like this for the Diamondbacks?b.The Yankees appear to have signed Paul Goldschmidt, signing the 37-year-old to a one-year $12.5 million contract. He's a perfect fit for the Yankees as he's the right age. Is there anything left?i.Stat line for 2024 – HR, RBI, SB, and BAii.I love the fact that the Cardinals moved on here. They'll move Willson Contreras to first and give full-time at-bats to Ivan Herrera. I'm a fan of Herrera. What are your thoughts?2.The Yankees also acquired Cody Bellinger from the Cubs for RHP Cody Poteet. The Cubs will pay $5 million to offset the deal. This was a salary dump to eliminate some of the outfield depth the Cubs didn't need.a.Bellinger is a dead pull hitter with poor exit velocities and a ton of leverage. He should be better in Yankees stadium, but is it enough to interest you in Drafts? He is the 28th outfielder off the board and has increased since the trade. Are you interested? Will we look at the players going around him?b.Let's see what we think about the Yankees opening day lineup - RosterResource3.The Phillies sign Max Kepler to a one-year, $10 million contract. He's not the same player he was a few years ago, as the exit velocities are off, and last year, he rarely walked. You typically don't see the fall-off he had last season in his walk rate, so there could be some positive correction. However, with the bat speed down, players will get more anxious. His ADP is 639.51. Is there any value left? Maybe a flier in a Draft and Hold League?4.The Orioles sign Tomoyuki Sugano. Can you give us a scouting report?a.Let's look at the Orioles Opening Day rotation.5.Early this morning, the Phillies acquired Jesus Luzardo from the Marlins for…wait for it…more prospects. Returning is SS Starlyn Caba and OF Emaarion Boyda.Luzardo was injured a lot last season and only started 12 games for the Marlins. He was the big talk this time last year, but the Marlins held onto him. He has two more years of team control.b.Do you like this for the Phillies?c.Stat line for 2025 – GS, Ks, and ERASegment 2 – AL East Fantasy Questions – Ray and Blue Jays1.Tampa Bay Raysa.Junior Caminero's stat line for 2025: AB, HR, RBI and BAb.Josh Lowe was one of your guys last season, but only got 50 plate appearances against LHP. He's the 40th outfielder off the board. Any interest? We will look at other outfielders going where he is.c.Does Christopher Morel get full-time at-bats for the Rays? i.Over-under 25 home runs? ii.Over-under .220 batting average.d.McClanahan is 18 months removed from TJS, but remember, it's his second one. He's the 46 pitcher off the board or the 35th starter off the board. Is he worth the gamble as a high-end number three starter?i.McClanahan (46), Baz (67), Springs (95). Order these three in how you would draft them.e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)2.Toronto Blue Jaysa.I'm doing my Draft Targets for our Patreon members. I released first base over the weekend and wrote many glowing words about Vlad Jr., something I haven't done much over his career. I love the setup, though. He has enormous power, still young and in his walk year. What are your thoughts?i.If Soto signs for $600 to $700 and Vlad Jr. will be just 26 when he enters free agency, is he at least a $500 million player?b.Joey Loperfido stat line for 2025 – AB, HR, BA, and RBIi.BTW, Loperfido is two months younger than Vlad Jr. and his career is just getting started. Let that sink in…c.George Springer's career is winding down and he's now going as the 59th outfielder off the board. He hit 19 home runs and stole 16 bases last season. Any interest?d.Kevin Gausman is the 63rd pitcher off the board – a late number three, early four starter. He pitched to a 3.83 ERA, but the strikeouts were down.i.Are you interested in Gausman next season.ii.I've looked at his baseballsavant page and will do a breakdown of him. There are warning signs. e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)3.Who wins the AL East and how many teams advance to the playoffs?Close

What steps should families take to prepare financially and emotionally for potential long-term care needs, particularly when care costs can vary significantly between home care and assisted living? Why is it essential to have conversations about healthcare directives and long-term care preferences early, while everyone is still healthy? How can families plan for the financial impact of a loved one's health event, especially when the timing and severity of such events are unpredictable? In this week's episode of the Restore To Explore Podcast, podiatrists Andy Bryant and Dr. Ray McClanahan dive deep into the topic of Natural Running & Mindful Movement. They draw from their own running experiences, sharing valuable lessons learned from injuries and the importance of setting realistic, achievable goals. One key takeaway emphasized by both Andy and Ray is the significance of transitioning slowly when changing footwear, as it can significantly impact running technique and desired outcomes. They stress that there is no singular "perfect" running technique, highlighting the essence of Natural Running as a personalized approach rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Andy underscores the idea that providing the body with optimal conditions enables it to find its own effective running technique, while Ray reinforces the notion that there's no universal standard for Human Gait. Moreover, they discuss the critical impact of footwear on natural running gait, considering factors like heel elevation, cushioning, toe shape, and toe spring. Additionally, the conversation delves into the mindful aspect of running, particularly in minimal shoes or barefoot, where every step becomes a conscious experience, focusing on the present moment rather than performance metrics. Ultimately, they emphasize that the essence of running lies in individual goals and intentions, urging listeners to explore their unique journey in running for personal fulfillment and mindfulness.Follow Andy on Instagram here.Follow Ray's company Correct Toes on Instagram here.TFC Helpful Links: Free Training Explorer Membership Free Ebook (The Guide To Foot Freedom) Shop TFC tools and training (Use the code R2E10 to save 10%) Become A TFC Athlete TFC Pro Directory Natural Footwear Finder Fountain - Earn money while you listen to our podcast Follow us: Instagram TikTok YouTube Facebook Music:Love Frequency - Roze SoundLost To The Siren - Makenna Susan

Matthew McClanahan recently won the Tennessee Young Farmers and Ranchers State Discussion Meet. McClanahan says it's an honor to win the state competition and is now preparing for the national competition in January. Thomas Capps State Discussion Meet winner prepares for Utah. Hello and welcome to Tennessee Home and Farm Radio. I'm Thomas Capps. Matthew McClanahan It's such an honor and a privilege to be able to represent the state of Tennessee in Salt Lake City and I think back on my years of prior experiences and it really makes you appreciate this victory so much more. Thomas Capps Cumberland County native Matthew McClanahan is the 2023 Tennessee young farmers and ranchers state discussion meet winner. He finished first in the state competition earlier this month and is now preparing to compete on the national level at the American Farm Bureau Convention in January. Matthew McClanahan We've had a lot of success in the past and got big shoes to fill, and I look forward to carrying on Tennessee's tradition of excellence and all the competitions and doing my part in the discussion meet. Hunter grills has been very helpful to me through this process and all the past winners and everyone has been so encouraging and I really look forward to leaning into their wisdom and knowledge and understanding and hopefully able to bring home some hardware for Tennessee. Thomas Capps McClanahan is a practicing attorney and serves as the Executive Director for the Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts. He says talking about the Ag issues and discussion meet competitions over the years has been critical in his professional development. Matthew McClanahan Being able to participate in the discussion meet and take that training and utilize that in our county board meetings. It has been crucial and something that I really am appreciative of that Farm Bureau is able to have programs like this. Thomas Capps Discussing ag issues is important to McClanahan not just as a lawyer, but also because production agriculture is also a big part of his life. Matthew McClanahan My wife and I we live in the house that my grandparents purchased right after the second world war on a beef cattle farm in Cumberland County, Tennessee where we still raise Herford beef cattle same way we've been doing since the 1940s. Really the best thing is just the people I've been able to meet and the contacts and the friendships I've been able to develop over the years. So it's a wonderful culmination of my young farmer and rancher career. Thomas Capps McClanahan competes on the national stage in January in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the AFBF convention. For Tennessee Home and Farm Radio, I'm Thomas Capps.

When teaching a public course called “The Age of Debt” this winter break, I had the strange realization that one of the the most successful readings in that course, the one which most clearly explained the 2008 crisis and the financialized economy, was written by an English professor. It was Annie McClanahan's Dead Pledges: Debt, Crisis, and Twenty-First Century Culture (Stanford University Press, 2016). The book is a masterful exploration of the cultural politics of the financial crisis and a powerful mediation on how to make sense of an era of unrepayable debts. As a review in the LA Review of Books notes, McClanahan has resurrected and repurposed the rich tradition of Marxist literary criticism which brought us Raymond Williams, analyzing post-crisis literature, photography, and cinema as cultural texts registering “a new ‘crisis subjectivity' in the wake of the mortgage meltdown's shattering revelations.” Dead Pledges is a must read. For whom? Well, anyone living in the 21st century, concerned about insurmountable debts, thinking of how culture and the economy transect each other, and striving for a radical politics fit for the mortgaged times in which we live.
