Today Allie highlights Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu's incredible success while examining the ethical problems with IVF, surrogacy, and “designer babies” from a Christian perspective. She exposes the global surrogacy industry's darker side, including ties to China and the commodification of children, while insisting every child remains an image-bearer of God. Allie also celebrates Team USA's win over Canada in hockey and unpacks what healthy Christian patriotism should look like today. Share the Arrows 2026 is on October 10 in Dallas, Texas! In this Garage edition of The Court of Public Opinion, Jeremy Cordeaux explores a wide range of controversial and thought-provoking topics, from paid parental leave and workforce participation to the ethical challenges of genetic engineering and the future of “designer babies”. Jeremy questions proposals to extend paid parental leave to 12 months, arguing that policymakers should focus on encouraging employment and supporting families through tax reform rather than increasing costs for businesses. He suggests income splitting and tax-deductible childcare as alternative ways to boost both birth rates and workforce participation. The episode also examines emerging genetic screening technologies, raising ethical concerns about embryo selection and the possibility of genetic engineering. Jeremy asks whether society is prepared for the moral and social implications of choosing traits such as intelligence, height and physical characteristics, and whether this could lead to dangerous unintended consequences. The discussion then moves to national security and social cohesion, including tensions during Ramadan, the challenge of identifying extremism, and threats directed at religious institutions. Jeremy highlights the importance of tolerance and public safety in a multicultural society. Other topics include the rise of illegal tobacco, the Laffer Curve and tax policy, the Hindmarsh Island controversy, government spending and historical debates around Indigenous heritage claims. This wide-ranging episode delivers Jeremy’s signature blend of economic commentary, ethical debate and strong opinion on the issues shaping Australia’s future.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fertility Docs Uncensored is hosted by Dr. Carrie Bedient from the Fertility Center of Las Vegas, Dr. Susan Hudson from Texas Fertility Center, and Dr. Abby Eblen from Nashville Fertility Center. In this episode, we explore the various genetic tests available for infertility patients, including carrier screening, prenatal testing, and testing done during IVF. We discuss why these tests are important, what they detect, and how they can influence family planning decisions. We give you answers to many questions you may have. What is expanded carrier screening, and what types of traits does it look for in prospective parents? How does being a carrier for recessive traits affect a child, and what is the probability of a child being impacted if both parents carry the same trait? Which traits are typically tested, and why are only severe conditions included? How can results from carrier screening influence decisions about pursuing IVF and embryo selection? What is NIPT testing, and how is it performed during pregnancy? What types of chromosomal abnormalities can NIPT detect, and when is this testing appropriate? How is genetic testing performed at the time of IVF, and what are the different tests available for embryos? What is PGT-A, and how does it assess chromosomal abnormalities? How do PGT-M, PGT-SR, and PGT-P tests evaluate for recessive traits, structural abnormalities, and conditions caused by multiple genes? How do these tests help couples make informed decisions about their reproductive options? What are the advantages of testing embryos before implantation compared to testing during pregnancy? How can understanding these genetic testing options reduce risks and improve outcomes for patients undergoing fertility treatments? Knowing the answers to these questions will help you decide which of these tests are right for you.

TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of sexual abuse and crimes against minors. As the head of the FBI and DOJ continue to downplay, deny, and deflect from the Epstein Files in Congressional hearings, we delve into evidence that Jeffrey Epstein was not only managing a human trafficking for the rich and powerful, but that he was also intentionally impregnating girls. We also review emails that showcase his efforts to fund studies on evolution and how to create "designer babies". Then, we compare that information with allegations about his secluded Zorro Ranch property in New Mexico, which was never searched despite an alleged former staff member reporting buried bodies. We conclude by reviewing emails that detail how involved Epstein was in medical information about his victims and what doctors he trusted, and paid, to provide them care. They touch on current cultural issues related to human identity, gender distinctions, surrogacy, and artificial insemination or IVF. Other concerns raised include technological advancements in genetic manipulation, such as the increasing trend of requesting specific traits for babies, like eye and hair color, and the ethical implications of cloning and other technological advancements. As we think about Genesis 1, where God tells us we are made in His image, male and female, He has made us, how does this relate to all these things that deal with anthropology? How should Christians respond to these advancements? Should we be concerned?Dr. Caldwell responds by acknowledging the complexity and importance of these issues. He emphasizes that Christians cannot ignore these developments and must grapple with them. Dr. Caldwell thinks through these things in the light of the Word of God and what he knows from the Word of God. He highlights that just because something is possible, we have the capacity and can do something, doesn't mean we should. There are ethical and moral questions about all technological advancements, especially regarding the field of medicine as it relates to humans. Dr. Caldwell helps us to consider this by drawing a parallel to sin. He reminds us that every act of sin represents an ability that man has, but he is doing something he shouldn't. Human beings have the ability to think things they shouldn't and commit actions that they shouldn't take. So just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. As believers, we must be concerned with God's role versus our role as human beings. Dr. Caldwell underscores the importance of aligning our actions with God's design and intentions.

It's the year 2030 and technology allows us to create designer babies. They've become a fashionable luxury item like handbags. And somewhere out there is a douchebag trying to get a low-maintenance (and very badly designed) baby that he's going to use as a "chick magnet" to hit on women.
