    Ivy Insights

The Whatever She Says podcast is a breath of fresh air in the world of relationship podcasts. Hosted by Carla and Wax, this dynamic couple brings their unique perspectives and humor to discuss all things relationships, including their own. As a husband and father of six, I truly appreciate the range of topics covered in this podcast. From lighter moments that have me cracking up, like Wax smoking with an orange, to more serious discussions about faith and reading Bible verses, these two cover it all.

One of the best aspects of The Whatever She Says podcast is the chemistry between Carla and Wax. They have great banter and play off each other's energy effortlessly. It's clear that they bring out the best in each other, both personally and creatively. As a longtime fan of Wax from his appearances on Brilliant Idiots, it's refreshing to see his growth as a black man who is open about his faith and his relationship with Carla. Their authenticity shines through in every episode.

Another aspect that I appreciate about this podcast is the balance it brings between lightheartedness and depth. The segments are well-thought-out and keep me engaged throughout the episode. I particularly enjoy the "Pass-da-Word" segment which had me shouting in agreement. It's clear that Carla and Wax have put effort into creating a well-balanced platform for their audience.

If there was one aspect that could be improved upon in The Whatever She Says podcast, it would be to hear more about Carla's perspective. While Wax's growth is mentioned and celebrated, I would love to hear more about how Carla has played a role in his transformation as well. It seems like she brings out the best in him, but I would love to hear her thoughts and experiences on this journey too.

In conclusion, The Whatever She Says podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in real honest conversations about relationships. Whether you're a fan of Carla or Wax individually, or just looking for a refreshing take on love and life, this podcast delivers. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, and they are truly living their purpose by dropping gems in every episode. I am excited to continue to hear and watch their growth, as well as for baby Psalm to make his debut into the world. Keep up the great work!

Tying a tie for my son's homecoming was more than knots and loops—it was a moment of reflection on shame and societal expectations. This simple task became a mirror, revealing the pressures and feelings of inadequacy we all face. In this episode, I share how shame, while often a moral guide, can also become a barrier if left unchecked. Raised in the church as a Florida girl, I explore how faith and life experiences taught me to embrace uncomfortable truths and use shame as a tool for growth and authenticity.   From navigating school struggles to meeting familial expectations, we delve into the deep-rooted societal pressures faced by daughters, particularly Black women. I recount five pivotal moments of vulnerability, illustrating how feelings of inadequacy shaped my identity and led to cycles of shame and disruptive behaviors. These stories reveal how reading struggles and the weight of parental expectations influenced my sense of self and the coping mechanisms I developed.   We also examine the emotional toll of absent fathers and the challenges of single motherhood. Through personal anecdotes and reflection, I discuss the guilt and struggles mothers face in filling the gaps left by non-participating fathers, and how this affects children's identities. My story of teen pregnancy and isolation is shared to inspire strength in vulnerability. This episode is a call to build community support, embrace unique narratives, and find healing through openness and understanding.     Follow Ariel: Instagram: @‌the_arielb TikTok: @‌the_arielb Website: This Too Shall Pass Podcast ‌ Watch Full Video On YouTube ‌ Email your letters/advice questions to thearielbpod@gmail.com Join the email list HERE and dont miss an episode or Exclusive merch drop This podcast is produced and edited by Idea to Launch Productions
