On today's cricketing episode, Australia has completed its five match ODI series in South Africa, losing 3-2 after winning the first two matches. Despite the Australian squad being weakened by injuries it was a disappointing finish to what has been a solid opening couple of weeks. On this episode we will discuss how the missing senior players allowed the squad to show most depth, and give several of their fringe players an opportunity to shine and see if they could make it on the big stage. We also discuss the all rounders experiment, to cram as many of them into the team to have as many options available, and how that experiment appears to have fallen flat with the lack of specialist batters in the line up. And we consider what may happen in the upcoming five match series against India as we head into the World Cup. Another episode of our Horse Breeds around the World Series. Today we talk about another Austro-Hungarian horse breed again, the Shagya Arabian whose modern home is in Hungary. Bred as a horse for the military in the 19th century, it was known as Arabian horse till after the Second World War, when the breed was named after one of its foundation sires. I am talking about this versatile breed with Louise Adensamer from Austria whose family has been breeding Shagya Arabians for several generations and keeps them in the heart of the city of Vienna. This breed is unique as it has a very special coat which is curly in most of the horses. Besides being curly, it is also hypoallergenic so people who have a horse hair allergy, can ride and handle Curly Horses without any problems. Sherry has turned towards the breed as her husband is allergic to horses and she needed a horse he could hang out with. Seit November 2017 ist die zweite Modellgeneration des Subaru XV in Deutschland erhältlich. Ihr charakteristische Design resultiert aus der gezielten Kombination sportlich-eleganter und robuster Elemente – ganz im Sinne der Subaru-Designphilosophie „Dynamic x Solid“. Wir haben den neuen XV mal näher betrachtet – und natürlich auch gefahren! Darum geht es diesmal!Subaru hat die Pressemappe zum aktuellen XV mit „Subaru XV: Crossover-SUV in Reinkultur“ betitelt. Das ist so gut, da muss ich nicht noch selbst eine Überschrift erfinden. Und - die Formulierung passt, denn der XV verbindet das Beste zweier Welten: Sportliche Eleganz zum einen, den Komfort einer Limousine mit dem robusten Charakter und der hohen Funktionalität eines Allrounders zum anderen.  In der neuen, der zweiten XV Modellgeneration kommen ein nochmals erhöhter Fahrspaß und eine erweiterte Sicherheitsausstattung dazu.  Power und Drive!    Wer sich einen Subaru XV kaufen will, der kann zwischen zwei kraftvollen Benziner-Boxermotoren wählen. Einem 1,6 Liter Vierzylinder mit 84 kW/114 PS sowie einem 2,0 Liter mit 115 kW/156 PS. Wir hatten den größeren der beiden Motoren an Bord, serienmäßig kombiniert mit einem überarbeiteten Lineartronic-Getriebe. Ich bevorzuge den vollautomatischen Gangwechsel, wer mag, kann aber mit dem manuellen Siebengang-Modus auch selbst schalten. Der Durchschnittsverbrauch liegt bei 6,9 Litern je 100 Kilometer, der CO2-Ausstoß beträgt 155 g/km. Mit dem Zweilitermotor ist der XV 194 km/h schnell, Tempo 100 wird in 10,4 Sekunden erreicht. Der Subaru XV verfügt serienmäßig über den permanenten Allradantrieb Symmetrical AWD.  Erstmals hat der XV das Allradmanagement-System X-Mode, das Fahrten bei widrigen Bedingungen noch sicherer macht, an Bord.  Es koordiniert Motormanagement, Allradantrieb, Bremskraft und andere Funktionen und gewährleistet beste Traktion.  68 Sekunden Die Kosten!Den Subaru XV gibt es in sechs unterschiedlichen Motor- und Ausstattungskombinationen. Der Einstiegspreis für den günstigsten XV liegt bei 22.980,-- €. Dafür kann man dann den XV 1.6i Trend mit Lineartronic und 84/114 kW/PS sein eigen nennen! Das andere Ende der Preisliste markiert der Subaru XV „Exclusive+“ mit 2,0-Liter-Boxer-Motor mit 115 kW/156 PS und natürlich auch mit Lineartronic für  32.980,- €. Das Gesamtbild!    Lassen Sie uns zum Schluss noch schnell etwas zur aktives Sicherheit sagen.  Das kamerabasierte System Eyesight kombiniert verschiedene Assistenzsysteme.  Unter anderem das Notbremssystem mit Kollisionswarner, den aktiven Spurhalteassistenten, den Spurleitassistenten, die adaptive Abstands- und Geschwindigkeitsregelung, den Anfahrassistenten und den Spurwechsel-, Totwinkel- und Querverkehrassistenten.  Damit ist man sehr gut gerüstet.
