Kim Myers turned the tables on both Freddy Krueger AND the typical gender roles of ‘80s horror when she rescued her boyfriend at the end of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge.” Tune in to hear all about making the first sequel in this long-running franchise, her thoughts on the film's queer subtext and Mark Patton's documentary, and that time Patrick Swayze danced with her on the set of “Letters from a Killer.”
Horror fans learned what “ándale” meant after watching Brooke Bundy say it to her daughter, Kristen, as Elaine Parker in both “A Nightmare on Elm Street” 3 & 4. But, to be fair, they went over this in therapy!
In a series we are calling "Good Idea/Bad Idea" the guys are taking an original property and comparing it to a really bad sequel or remake. In this case, they are of course talking about one of the greatest horror movies ever made, Nightmare On Elm Street (1984). And they are comparing it to the remake in 2010, With Jackie Earl Haley taking up the mantle of Freddy Krueger. "Oooooh, sounds like fun"How does the remake compare to the original? Did they change Freddy too much for the remake? And why is Mike so angry about it? Find out all of that and more, right here! Click here to send us a message! It's the very 100 and 14th episode of Forsaken Cinema Podcast!!! We continue our ”New Year, New Movies: Movies with the Word ‘New' in the Title” with “Wes Craven's New Nightmare” and all of its meta goodness. We talk about how delightful the premise of this ANOES installment is, Chuck mansplains Freddy's character to us ad nauseum (eye roll), Freddy's design is Nasty Nipicked, both hosts have weird opinions about the claw to crotch scene, and Melissa remains the thirstiest podcast host on the east coast. Welcome to Primetime... again! Kill By Kill's journey into the dark heart of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) restarts here with the help of the one and only Halle Kiefer (of Ruined! with Allison & Halle) to help us claw our way through the first 30 minutes! Along the way, we discuss flooded boiler rooms, delve into how much of Freddy is actually made of goo, debate whether or not Freddy wears sweatpants, and ponder why America has a near-endless love for cartoon cats. All this, plus we play a game of Choose Your Own WOUNDventure, wonder what happened to all the iron lungs, and meet our first few "Terrible Parents of Elm Street!!" If you hoped we would talk about Freddy Krueger again - your dream just came true!! NOTE: This is a replacement for our original ANOES vol. 1 - only it's funnier and has a much cooler, funnier guest. Following our super fun run of episodes covering the ANOES franchise, we decided to go with something a little different. This episode I brought Leiann a film from 2017 she had not seen, Tigers Are Not Afraid directed by Issa Lopez. I watched this one a while back with the Joe Bob commentary from Shudder's The Last Drive In and fell in love with the film, so I was very excited to show it to Leiann Interstellar Interstitial style. Don't worry, we'll most likely be covering more of Issa Lopez' work on the show in the future. #skewereduniversepodcast #skewereduniverse #podcast #horror #horrorpodcast #horrormovies #movies #tigersarenotafraidmovie #issalopez Want to connect with Skewered Universe on Social Media? The Skewered Universe ANOES Retrospective comes to a close as we get to the final film in the original franchise, Freddy vs Jason. Not only do we cover the movie in our Interstellar Interstitial style, but we also have some feedback about some of our listeners and friend's experiences with the Nightmare franchise along with some audio feedback as well. The nightmare train keeps on rolling as Leiann and I sit down for an Interstellar Interstitials review of A Nightmare on Elm St Part 5: The Dream Child. Leiann and I kick off our ANOES Retrospective series talking about the movie that started the nightmares and saved New Line Cinema from bankruptcy. That's right its the Wes Craven 1984 horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street. We talk about our experiences with this film, the Freddy Krueger character and discuss a few of the interesting behind the scenes details. This was a lot of fun and we have more episodes coming in this series over the coming weeks. #skewereduniversepodcast #skewereduniverse #podcast #horror #horrorpodcast #horrormovies #movies #anightmareonelmst #freddykrueger #anoes #retrospective Want to connect with Skewered Universe on Social Media? ::THE LORDE OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWERação, aventura, drama 2022 - Amazon Studios, Harper Collins Publishers, New Line CinemaOnde assistir: Amazon Prime VídeoAvaliação imdB: 6.9/10Avaliação Metacritic: 71/100Avaliação Rotten

Danny Hassel made us all swoon playing Alice's boyfriend and “one major league hunk,” Dan, in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” Parts 4 & 5. Tune in to hear all about playing this strong but sensitive jock, what it was like filming his memorable (and brutal) motorcycle death scene, and the two upcoming projects marking his return to horror.
With his quotable lines and courageous personality, Roland Kincaid is one of the most memorable characters from the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise. Tune in to hear Ken tell us all about playing this Dream Warrior, his thoughts on Kincaid's untimely demise in Part 4, and why he wants to set the record straight on something people may have misunderstood in the “Never Sleep Again” documentary.
Program note: This was one of the earliest episodes we recorded, and as such, the audio isn't great in certain spots. We enjoyed recording this episode, though, and IOHO, think it's smart and funny enough to include in the season, which officially comes to an end with this episode. Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to terrorizing you in season two. "I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy." Where were YOU on November 11, 1984? If that was anywhere other than your local multiplex, you missed out on a seminal cultural event of the decade: the premiere of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, Wes Craven's surreal slasher, in which a long-(thought)-dead child murderer begins haunting (and killing) teenagers in their dreams. With a cast led by Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Robert Englund, and "introducing Johnny Depp," ELM STREET struck a chord in the zeitgeist, and went on to spawn a franchise than only became funnier and campier as it went along. But the original remains a landmark of indelible images and ingenious practical effects. In this week's episode I'll be discussing the short lived Freddy's Nightmares: A Nightmare on Elm Street - The Series. Lasting two seasons comprising of 44 episodes, Freddy's Nightmares should be given its flowers not only as a viable entry into 80s horror anthologies, but also into the ANOES franchise overall. Freddy's Nightmares isn't really considered canon with most fans and historians, which is a damn shame. The show could easily be incorporated into some of the plot holes or dangling threads in the franchise's chronology. Please Check Out Syndicated Nightmares with Dave Berman and Michelle Hanson for a full deep dive into the entire series. Also check out the official Nightmare on Elm Street Compendium on the series here. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

We have Bob and Zipp return to talk about the least like film in the ANOES series.
Wes Craven's New Nightmare (known simply as New Nightmare) is a 1994 American meta slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven, the original creator of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Although it is the seventh installment in the franchise, it is not part of the series continuity, instead portraying Freddy Krueger as a fictional movie villain who invades the real world, and haunts the cast and crew responsible for his films. In the film, Freddy is depicted as closer to what Craven originally intended, being much more menacing and much less comical, with an updated attire and appearance.
Joey Cage Mark E. Ritchie Rich and Chris Easy Life Daddy's Wallet talk... Hellraiser is a 1987 British horror film written and directed by Clive Barker, and produced by Christopher Figg, based on Barker's novella The Hellbound Heart. he film marked Barker's directorial debut. The film involves the resurrection of Frank (Sean Chapman), who had opened the door to an alternate dimension and had his body torn to pieces by creatures known as Cenobites. Years later, Frank's brother Larry (Andrew Robinson) moves into their late mother's abandoned house with new wife Julia (Clare Higgins). An accident causes some of Larry's blood to spill on the attic floor, which triggers Frank's resurrection. To complete his resurrection, he requires more blood which Julia provides while Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence), Larry's daughter, discovers Frank's puzzlebox which leads her to meet with the Cenobites.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master is a 1988 American slasher film and the fourth installment in the Nightmare on Elm Street series. The film was directed by Renny Harlin and stars Robert Englund, Lisa Wilcox, and Danny Hassel. Following the death of Nancy Thompson, Freddy Krueger reappears in the dreams of Kristen Parker, Joey Crusel, and Roland Kincaid. Krueger uses Kristen's best friend, Alice Johnson, to gain access to new victims. The film is a sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and was followed by A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989).
Joe and CJ talk... A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (stylized onscreen as A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child) is a 1989 American gothic slasher film directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by Leslie Bohem. It is the fifth installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series, and stars Lisa Wilcox, and Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. The film follows Krueger, using a now pregnant Alice Johnson's baby's dreams to claim new victims.
Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (also known as A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: The Final Nightmare) is a 1991 American slasher film and the sixth installment in the Nightmare on Elm Street series. It is the sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child and was originally intended to be the concluding chapter of the series; Wes Craven's New Nightmare was released after The Final Nightmare but takes place outside the series canon. A canonical sequel, Freddy vs. Jason, was released in 2003. This was New Line Cinema's first 3D film release.
Joe, Mark and Chris talk about.. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is a 1985 American slasher film directed by Jack Sholder and the second installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series. Having covered the original “...Elm Street” last episode, we move onto, arguably, the best of the series with “A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”. A film in which we learn that a scrapyard can be consecrated ground if you have a flask of holy water; sometimes ALL the black characters in a horror film can survive to the end; and Freddy, finally, says “Bitch”. Along the way we discuss the 2010 remake of ANOES, “Tetsuo: The Iron Man”, “Murder By Decree” and the live action “Scooby-Doo” and “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed”. Watch (or re-watch) to avoid spoilers, and join us. APOLOGIES FOR ANY SOUND QUALITY ISSUES -CURRENT QUARANTINE MEASURES MEANT WE HAD TO RECORD THIS EPISODE REMOTELY.
It’s a Welcome To Horror Bonus Episode! Adam and Claire discuss “A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge”. Whilst we’re covering ANOES 1 and 3 as part of the main show, ever the completist, Adam had to watch “Freddy’s Revenge” too and, having seen Claire’s reaction to seeing it for the very first time, felt that it really needed to be covered
Marc's is what I’d call a fan of horror from the anticipation of a good scare to how a production can impact someone so much to cause them literally to get goosebumps. One half of the horror movie review podcast "A Podcast on Elm Street" with his good friend and co host Brooke. Marc's been a horror fan since he first watched ANOES and Pet Sematary as a kid. Being amazed at the rush he got from watching something he knew he wasn’t supposed to and learning quickly how fun horror movies are to watch because fear is terrifying but also exhilarating.
FANS: Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 & 5) tells us about her early days onstage that led to UCLA and her eventual casting as leading lady Alice Johnson in parts 4 and 5 of the popular A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise opposite Robert Englund. We also hear fun stories about convention life, the jewelry business she ran with Elm Street co-star Tuesday Knight, and learn some exciting news about upcoming work, including a film with Michael Madsen! FILMS: After spending nearly an hour with Lisa Wilcox rapping about Elm Street 4 and 5, we recruit Kevin Smith to help us close out our official reviews of The Dream Master (1988) and The Dream Child (1989), including recasting Alice's dad, our favorite lines from both movies (many of which include Freddy calling someone a bitch), and quite a bit of disagreement over which of these is the superior movie. FINDS: Although Coronavirus has its foot on the throat of the entertainment industry, we still manage to discuss their efforts to go online to entertain from home (SNL at Home, That Thing You Do! live cast commentary reunion, etc.), to drool over the new announcement of an exhaustive and definitive Bruce Lee box from Criterion, and to threaten to shame Kevin!
It's Christmas in March as Tim and Kelly take on BLACK CHRISTMAS; A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE; and SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT! Music: DEEP SOUTHERN DIRT by Victor Ohlsson
Oh this episode I talk about my favorite movies from the decade and manage to pick a favorite Horror movie and Non Horror Movie from each year of the decade while also showcasing a lot of honorable mentions from the decade as well. I also talk about Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street which chronicles the trials and tribulations of Mark Patton an at the time in the closet gay actor who rose to fame but withdrew himself from the spot light because of his role in ANOES 2 Freddy's Revenge and much much more. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/martelsmoviemadness/message
FANS: We chat with actor Ira Heiden (A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark) about getting into horror films, auditioning for Elm Street and what it was like to work with Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira. He entertains with his favorite Steve Martin story from filming Father of the Bride and talks about developing relationships in Hollywood while starring in ABC's Alias and the direct-to-video Zapped!Again! FILMS: Ira joins us for our review of A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) in which he played Will. We ask him about working with Robert Englund, using a wheelchair, what he thought of his death scene, and prod him for stories from behind the scenes. We discuss what we'd be in our dreams, what our favorite manifestation of Freddy was in this installment, and spend some time talking about Dokken. Yes, Dokken! FINDS: Star Wars Episode IX runtime, a Freddy Krueger fan film, the Mandalorian, the Mr. Boogedy Challenge, and Tom Hanks is still wonderful.

Michelle Hanson from the Syndicated Nightmares podcast joins Brock and Pickens to discuss one of her favorite movies, the OG A Nightmare on Elm Street -- a not-so deep cut that leaves a very deep cut. This pregame to next week's cocktail trivia party teases our love of this 80s slasher classic. From boasting the best final girl, Nancy, to amping up wacky practical effects, this franchise left its (claw) mark on our collective psyches for an undeniable reason. But even though we're buddy-buddy now, next week, we'll be trying to kill Michelle in ANOES trivia. Will she come a final girl in our Cocktail Party Massacre??? Speaking of Final Girls, check out Michelle's absolutely BRILLIANT Final Girls parody here. Get an invitation to Kilrook Manor and try to become a Final Girl yourself! Our music is by Zalatan Music.

Despite the fairly atrocious “Baby You’re a Rich Man” from Disorderlies, the Fat Boys might’ve recorded one of the best horror movie soundtrack songs you’ve probably long since forgotten, probably because there are two Nightmare On Elm Street-themed hip-hop tunes, both released right around the same time. Like most folks, I’m sure you probably think that DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s “Nightmare on My Street” is the real deal holyfield.
