I've said it in the past but it bears repeating…I love doing this podcast for episodes like this one. Mercury from the band Priest joins me to talk about their new release, Body Machine. Electronic music is not my area of expertise, but I had a lot of fun checking these guys out. Mercury talks about growing up with musical parents and starting his musical career in pop music. He joined his first band as a bassist because his mom had a bass in the house. He didn't tell the band that he didn't know how to play!Mercury is REALLY candid about his time as Water in the band Ghost and his dismissal from the band. He had already started working on the project that would become Priest, so that became his focus. And with so many visual aspects to the band, it became a full time band very quickly. In the time this band has been in existence, it has gone through some pretty big changes. But things have settled down enough to release a new album called Body Machine. Mercury discusses the concept of Body Machine being part one of a trilogy that's almost completely written and recorded already! Their touring and working on getting to the US. Apparently it's not easy to get a visa when you wear masks and use aliases. Check out the band's website priestnexus.com to get their socials, buy the album, and get tour dates. Follow us @PerformanceAnx. You can help us out with merch at performanceanx.threadless.com or by just buying us a cup of coffee at ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety. Now get ready to get some electronic religion with Mercury of Priest on Performance Anxiety on the Pantheon Podcast Network.
Priest vocalist Mercury (former member of the Swedish rock band Ghost) discusses the band's upcoming album "Body Machine" Priest, who describes its musical vision as a of blend of darkwave and industrial goth, also has a talent for creating catchy, melodic hooks, memorable synth riffs and heavy, throbbing rhythms in its music, which is very much in evidence on the ten tracks on Body Machine. Think of a darker, heavier Depeche Mode, a band who has been a big influence on Priest over the years.
Concert Pipeline’s three hundred seventy third episode featuring Priest, in which we talk to Mercury about playing a show opening for Metallica, making music with his father, the progression from former band Ghost to Priest, having a song in the new Mel Gibson film “Hot Seat,” and their forthcoming album “Body Machine,” due out July 15.

The body can be viewed as an ecosystem or machine, and these varying paradigms significantly impact how you view and treat disease, and certainly how you use herbal medicines. With each offering a unique perspective to healing, it's the combination of both that is stronger than its parts. Modern biomedicine tends to view the human body like a machine made up of multiple "gears." When something goes wrong, we simply need to fix the broken part. This mechanistic view of the body is significantly different from more traditional perspectives on our anatomy and physiology. Central to the vitalist traditions of herbalism is the perspective that the body is a reflection of the natural world, a microcosm of nature- that it is an ecosystem. The practice of true holistic herbalism is rooted in this perception of ecological physiology, which gives us a lens to directly match the energetics of the plants to the constitution of the person. ———————————— CONNECT WITH SAJAH AND WHITNEY ———————————— To get free in depth mini-courses and videos, visit our blog at: http://www.evolutionaryherbalism.com Get daily inspiration and plant wisdom on our Facebook and Instagram channels: http://www.facebook.com/EvolutionaryHerbalism https://www.instagram.com/evolutionary_herbalism/ Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyP63opAmcpIAQg1M9ShNSQ ———————————— ABOUT SAJAH ———————————— Sajah Popham is the author of Evolutionary Herbalism and the founder of the School of Evolutionary Herbalism, where he trains herbalists in a holistic system of plant medicine that encompasses clinical western herbalism, medical astrology, Ayurveda, and spagyric alchemy. Abuse of the Human Body - MR OBINNA & BODY MACHINE
Robin Bicknell and Face2Face host David Peck talk about The Genetic Revolution, Eugenics, selective breeding, our complex genetic relationships, ethical issues and changing another species. Trailer Synopsis The Genetic Revolution is a new, one-hour documentary that explores the exciting, rapidly evolving world of genetic engineering. It follows a group of brilliant scientists from across the globe as they use powerful new gene editing technologies in ways once thought unimaginable. The film also tackles the philosophical and environmental implications this new technology has on our species through interviews with such luminaries as Margret Atwood and Jane Goodall. Technologies like CRISPR are making it possible to quickly and cheaply change the DNA of all living things, including humans. CRISPR, which stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, is a simple yet powerful tool for editing genomes and allowing researchers to easily alter DNA sequences and modify gene function. Genes can now be edited almost as easily as words on a computer screen. This new ability to alter our DNA holds the promise of curing disease … saving threatened species … solving the problem of world hunger … maybe even obtaining human perfection. But will the promise be fulfilled? The ability to gain control of our DNA is ground-breaking and revolutionary, and a responsibility all scientists working in the field take seriously. The Genetic Revolution follows the science as it progresses at breakneck speed. Pioneering scientists like Dr. George Church, Dr. Kevin Esvelt and Dr. John Zhang reveal how gene editing will soon be used to extend our lives, and treat or prevent ailments like Lyme disease. Families afflicted by hereditary diseases like Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy wait with bated breath as technologies are clinically trialed. The film is witness to a tipping point, recording scientific moments destined to change the world as we know it.Biography Robin Sky Bicknell is a multi-award-winning documentary director, producer, and writer. She lives in Toronto, Canada, although her family roots are in Louisiana and Indiana in the United States. Her recent credits include Ice Bridge; Black Watch Snipers; Camp X: Secret Agent School; and The Curse of the Axe, and the second season of the popular series Surviving Evil. Robin directed, produced and co-wrote the feature length film The Real Superhumans and the Quest for the Future Fantastic, and directed, produced and wrote the feature length documentary The Body Machine, nominated for the Best Popular Science Documentary Rockie at the 2009 Banff International Television Festival and she received a Best Science Documentary Gemini nomination. Other credits include Roswell: The Truth; The Plastic Fantastic Brain; The Need for Speed; A Time to Live; Tall Ship Chronicles; Modern Love; My Fabulous Gay Wedding; and Forensic Factor.
