In today's fast paced, sound bite while walking out the door, world we live in, you make some huge presumption. We presume that we only need to know the quote, see the video or hear just the gist to create an opinion. It is an Instagram thread of stories and images fire hosed to the back of the dome each and every day! What is the back story? Nobody got time for that! What context was it created and what was the intention behind its creation? If you walked past the open door of my gym and saw 3 reps of 1 exercise that I was doing with a specific athlete with unique needs, could you make an opinion on me as a coach? Now that sounds ridiculous doesn't it? But you can make assumptions about my age, gender, education, social status and how I like my coffee by scrolling through my social media? I heard a great mathematical equation that explains the value of the things we consume. A Instagram post takes 1 to 3minutes to create and 1-30seconds to absorb. A blog post takes 5 hours to research and write and 15-30 minutes to read. A book takes 2-5 years to write and 4 hours to read. If you invest 4 hours of your life to a specific topic in a book form you will gain insight into 5 years of research and development of the thoughts shared in it. If you invest the same 4 hours into social media you will get 480 plus grains of obscure thoughts that your brain needs to blend together to connect the dots and gain insight. Its the difference between a year of Pornhub compared to a relationship with a real potential soulmate. Ill take love over emptiness and depth over superficial scrolling every time. In this EPIC episode we go DEEEP into this topic and I share how the right training philosophy is only right in the right moment with the right population for the right purpose. Unfortunately it often is not! And that is not right. Fitness pros! Have you ever had someone walk in your gym and say," I am looking for some mental fortitude, grit and self belief!"? I thought not. It is a complete opposite. "I want to lose 10lbs, get stronger and improve my overall health!" They say they want physiological change but the most valuable thing they can leave with is psychological growth. Many of them don't consciously realize the change that has taken place, and unfortunately neither do their trainers. Wake up people! Its not about the body. If you change the mind the body will follow. If you only change the body it will try to return to its original form as the mind seeks homeostasis. This is why the focus for this episode is on the psychological aspect of coaching. Some of you are great at this and don't know why, others think you are mental masters and massively miss the mark. There is an art to quality coaching communication skills that you can develop. It starts with an intention to improve your abilities to communicate and understanding how your clients receive information. Now let's get down to the NITTY GRITTY! The classic golf coaching model is inherently broken. This episode is a working coaching model the modern golf professional. It will redefine the way they coach their athletes. The modern golf professional needs a different approach to coaching. The new model needs to provide the golfer with the tools to adjust and adapt to the ever changing environment, conditions and competitive situations that arise in a round of golf. It is not about fixing them. It is about empowering them to meet the challenge that is presented for each shot. Coaching is about giving the athlete the ingredients that expand the options available to them to overcome each challenge they are faced with. The more ingredients they have, the more creative they can be at executing them. **Spoiler Alert** You don't have to watch the Squid Games to learn from the Squid Games. Today we do a deep dive into the underlying theme on the record breaking Squid Games Netflix series. It is all about the human condition. At the deepest level we are simply organisms fighting for survival. Luckily for most of us, we live in a bubble wrapped world where our food, shelter and basic needs are readily accessible. That doesn't mean that our survival mechanism is lost. It is just hiding deep inside our reptile brain. When released, this survival mechanism is expressed in the rawest form. The best and worst inside us is revealed. This is what makes the Squid Games so riveting. What would you do if you were faced with a life and death decision that would determine whether you or your competitor continues in the game of life? Die with honour or live with the pain of knowing that you took the life of an other. Luckily in business and sport it isn't life or death. But somehow we are faced with the same decisions. Which one do you choose?  Thank you to our sponsors. @mytpi @perform_better Register for all your MyTPI classes here:  http://www.mytpi.com/certification/seminar-calendar  Want to buy some equipment?

Push. Pull. Hinge. Squat. Lunge. Rotate. Exercise is a function of movement and the human body is made to move; therefore, for the best results, exercise programs should be based on how the body is designed to move. I love it when people ask me how I became a stand up comic? The same way I became a collegiate athlete and an entrepreneur! Mix passion, consistent unmatched work ethic with a set of cojones and you have all the ingredients to accomplish pretty much anything in life. The cool thing is that all of these ingredients are inside you. If you REALLY want something bad enough (passion) you will find the energy and will power to get the work done (work ethic) and over time, small victories build confidence in your abilities (cojones). The key is to keep getting up after you get knocked down. In comedy the blows come hard and often. Open mics are probably the most hostile environments you could ever volunteer yourself to be put in. Any other endeavour of excellence has stages of development that allow you to have early success in a supported safe environment. Open mics on the other hand are filled with nervous, self centered, narcissists who want to see you fail so they feel better about themselves. As soon as they get off stage they leave the club to lick their wounds in privacy. If you have a late spot you may be doling out your shit and dick jokes to the last 3 drunks left in the room. Then you would go home and cry yourself to sleep, wiping tears away with pages from your failed joke book. Could you imagine if you wanted to be a pro basketball player and they threw you into a NBA game and they let you take your beatings, blocked shots and bricks in front of a sold out crowd? No, you start in the recreational house leagues and move up through the ranks as your skills progress. Can you imagine failing as an entrepreneur every week for 7 years before you make your first dollar? If this is how the world worked there would be no entrepreneurs or professional athletes. Any sane person would quit! The key is to push your limits with the support of those you trust. That is exactly what my Mentorship family does for each other. 18 months of coaching my athletes over Zoom came to an end last week and I finally got to see my players again in person! Man ohhh man I needed it. The US/Canada border finally opened (if you were willing to jump a few obstacles) and I flew down to help my athletes prepare for the first event of the 2022 @pgatour season.  As many of you who have had to "pivot" their business over the past year and 1/2, I had to find a way to provide the same quality of coaching that I delivered in person without being in person. Zoom coaching comes with some obvious limitations which we were able to overcome through creative cueing, programming and tweaking delivery. I finally got to meet one of my players who I have been training for 9 months over Zoom without actually ever seeing each other face to face. Over those 9 months we increased his clubhead speed from 115 to 120mph. Now, he did all the work, but it shows that good programming and consistent, focussed, work can yield huge results. Jason Dufner was nice enough to share our story in this article from PGA Tour by Cameron Morfit  https://www.pgatour.com/news/2021/09/17/jason-dufner-commits-to-gym-to-add-speed--distance-fortinet-championship.html This episode is meant to inspire and encourage you to find ways to adjust your delivery systems to adapt to the ever changing landscape. The world is changing and you need to change with it! Its time for you to look at your business, your systems, your daily routine and find ways to tweak them to maximize your potential. Or you can continue to complain about how the world isn't like it use to be. It will never be the same again and to be honest, you shouldn't pine for it to be. Life is impermanent. Adjust and grow. DreamBIG OverDeliver BeUndeniable. If you need help with rebranding, creating a new service or product, need to adjust your coaching business and are ready to DreamBIG. My Coach Glass Mentorship application is open and ready for you to apply. You have a 1 month Home Study course which is followed by 6 weeks of intensive group Zoom sessions.
