Packers Seahawks weekend! Not a great venue for the Packers over the last 15 years. Seems like the team is relatively healthy heading into this weekend and are favored by 2.5-3 points. Brett Favre and Mark Gastineau had a viral confrontation video this week. Braedyn Locke enters the transfer portal, Badger hoops has hit the skids a bit, and the Bucks are back in Vegas. Wisconsin got good news from the portal on Wednesday with Trech Kekahuna announcing he would be returning to the Badgers. Zach and Jesse discuss the move, and then get into Braedyn Locke putting his name into the portal and what it means for the QB spot. They also go over some of the Badgers targets in the portal and close with a look at a brutal 2025 Big Ten schedule.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton roll into Hour 2 of the show, discussing the state of QB play in the state of Wisconsin. First they asked if the Badgers will get better QB play next season after Braedyn Locke entered the transfer portal today, and does Jordan Love need to go on an Aaron Rodgers-style hot streak for the Packers to make a run in the playoffs? They also continue discussing the wild news that Bill Belichick is going back to college to become the head coach of North Carolina football, and producer Primetime Wollersheim tries to prove a point that The Longest Yard's lead character went by Paul "Motely" Crew. Mark Tauscher joins Jim and Matt to talk about the Badgers finding their new offensive coordinator in Jeff Grimes from Kansas. Tausch discusses his sit-down interview with coach Grimes, his experience as an offensive line coach, and what surprised him about how Grimes connected with head coach Luke Fickell. Jim also asks Tausch how last season's three lopsided losses to the Badgers rivals could change their philosophy in recruiting and the transfer portal, and Matt asks Tausch if the Badgers QB play will improve and if next year's starter is on the roster after the news that Braedyn Locke entered the transfer portal today. Jim also asks Tausch for his thoughts on the breaking news that Bill Belichick is becoming the next head coach of North Carolina football and what NFL skills that the legendary coach could bring to the ever-evolving college game. They wrap up discussing the Packers, if Jordan Love needs to go on a hot streak for the Packers to make a playoff run, and how does Green Bay bounce back following a physical game against Detroit heading into this Sunday versus Seattle. Jim and Primetime wrap up Throwing Stones with a fun story about how Bart Bielema got duped on Twitter!
Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton start the show in the heat of the transfer portal with some breaking news that Braedyn Locke is leaving the Badgers. With Locke heading to the portal, they ask if the Badgers will get better QB play next year than they did last season, and they discuss if one of the QBs on the current roster will be starting next year (as well as making sure they can pronounce each QBs name properly). Jim and Matt react to some more breaking news that legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick is officially heading back to school to take the head coach position at the University of North Carolina! How crazy is it that Belichick is going to be a college head coach and is it crazier than the gap in age between Bill and his 24-year girlfriend? They transition to their Packers conversation surrounding Jordan Love, as Jim and Matt discuss if the QB needs to get hot again like he did at the end of last season/postseason if the team is gonna make a deeper playoff run this year? Has Love's performance been up to the standard of a $55 million QB, and has he been definitively better than last season? Jim finally gets excited for once for Minute To Win It -- in honor of 100.5 ESPN becoming Madison's new home for Milwaukee Brewers Radio, he makes Matt list the 10 players from the Brewers' starting lineup for their final Wild Card game versus the Mets back in early October!

Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt roll into Hour 2 of Jim & G. They shift from talking Big Ten football rivalry trophies directly into the Badgers' upcoming slate of rivalry games beginning this Saturday versus Iowa. With the Heartland Trophy on the line, they discuss the importance of if the Badgers can sweep their final three rivalry games compared to if they can get that sought-after marquee win against No. 1 Oregon on Nov. 16. Which is more important, and what is the history behind the trophy that Wisconsin and Minnesota played for before Paul Bunyan's Axe? Primetime hops on the phone to talk to some Forward Madison fans, so Jim and G delve deeper into how important the next two games versus Iowa and Oregon are for Braedyn Locke along with Jim's Halloween plans. Mark Tauscher joins Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt to talk Badgers vs Hawkeyes and Packers vs Lions. They start with some civil conversation about the Badgers upcoming trophy game versus Iowa and the importance of the team's 3 rivalry games compared to the big home game against No. 1 Oregon. Jim explores his annoyance with the fans who interfered with Mookie Betts during last night's Yankees-Dodgers World Series game, and Tausch gets annoyed with G's "I'm here for whatever" attitude. Jim gets Tausch a little more heated with some talk about how this Packers-Lions game could affect the team's mindset if Jordan Love plays versus if Malik Willis plays, and he reminds Tausch that the Lions are a young team too. Is this game more important for the Packers or the Lions, could Green Bay win with Malik at QB, and is there any way Love should play if he's less than 80% with his groin injury? Jim and G wrap up with Throwing Stones, including takes on more fan stupidity and rookie QBs.
