Toyota has shot itself in the foot - again - over the ridiculously named bZ4, the company's first electric vehicle and SUV jointly developed with Subaru. Incidentally possibly the most bland EV in the world today if you don't count the Nissan Leaf, the bz4x is pooping its trousers, impressively, all over town - and Toyota just can't fix it. In fact, they've just offered to buy them all back. OLIGHT DISCOUNT! (These are awesome.) Some athletes really don't want to quit. We all know powerlifters who should probably hang it up due to age, injuries, and the chaos the sport can bring to their “real” lives. Tom Brady can't stay retired. Joe Montana had to hear from Bill Walsh that he couldn't be a 49er anymore. Albert Pujols is still playing major league baseball in his 40s. And Tony Hawk is still rolling in his 50s. This highly-rated documentary gives some idea of what still drives him, how he stepped on a skateboard for the first time, and his formative role in the history of professional skateboarding. Is he the "good" guy we all think he is? When you're no longer able the be the athlete you were, who are you? We may not all be able to do a kickflip, but Ka-Pow the Pop Cultured Podcast can do a pretty serviceable job reviewing all the recent streaming content headed down the pop culture half-pipe. Comedies, dramas, documentaries and comic books adaptations, there is a little something of everything grinding its way across our screens this week. Length - 00:54:37 Language - PG-13. (Contains adult language.) - 0:01:30 - MOVIE NEWS Zack Snyder recognized by internet fan votes at the Oscars, some thoughts on this year's Academy Award winners, zero takes at all on the Will Smith controversy and calls for a Disney boycott put the boss in the hot seat. - 0:10:40 - CROSSING THE STREAMS The CW network renews many of their marquee shows, comic adaptation "DMZ" arrives on HBO Max, first season of "Severance" some mind-bending sci-fi, "Julia" dramatizes the life and career of celebrity chef Julia Child, the next Marvel series "Moon Knight" debuts on Disney+, the skateboard documentary "Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off," quirky pirate comedy "Our Flag Means Death" entertains and the final episodes of "This Is Us" becoming a real drag.
On this episode, Michael gives everyone the 411 on why we've been producing so few episodes. We make a big announcement for the future of Crossing the Streams. We review Is It Cake? and Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off for this week's Crossing the Streams. For current events, we discuss the upcoming live-action Barbie movie and review Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. For our main topic, we create a horror-comedy movie, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Timothee Chalamet, Pedro Pascal, Gerald Butler, Awkwafina, and Mads Mikkelsen, full of studio mandates to keep things interesting.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/jackofallnerds)

Welcome back for Episode 6 of The Nordy Pod! In this episode we're headed to Austin Texas to our Barton Creek store for one of our “State of the Company” meetings, where you'll get a glimpse into some of the issues we're facing in 2022, and steps we're taking to improve for the future. While in Austin, I also sat down with my good friend, Director Sam Jones, after getting the unique opportunity to view a premiere showing of his latest film “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off”. Sam and I have been close friends for quite some time now, but we're often pleasantly reminded of just how different our lives really are. While I'm sitting in business meetings, Sam's out shooting movies and bumping shoulders with the likes of Bono and George Clooney. I might be just a little bit jealous. Starting as a freelance photographer for The Associated Press, Sam gradually leveraged his work up the entertainment ladder. Conning A-List actors into helping him expand his portfolio and hustling his way into the offices of big name magazines. His impressive body of work has been featured in the likes of Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, GQ, and movie posters plastered on billboards across the world. He's produced and directed multiple feature length documentary films and even created his own TV show, called 'Off Camera with Sam Jones' which ran 12 seasons on DirecTV. Sam stands apart from a majority of industry filmmakers for his willingness to invest in his projects from his own bank account, rather than waiting for a studio to give him a shot, resulting in more freedom to create extremely personal stories and make more money in the process. If you haven't run into his work yet, I'm certain after this conversation you're going to go on a Sam Jones binge. Did you know that YOU can actually be on The Nordy Pod? This show isn't just a one-way conversation. We want to hear about what Nordstrom looks like through your eyes! Share your Nordstrom experience, good or bad, by giving us a call and leaving a voicemail at: (206) 594-0526, or send us an email to email@example.com to be a part of the conversation!
