Johnny Mac reports Nikki Glaser said she has imposter syndrome while appearing on the Night of Too Many Stars lineup with major comics and actors, calling it a dream moment where she'd rather observe than insert herself. NBC canceled Jimmy Fallon's marketing-competition show On Brand after weak ratings and erratic scheduling, but ordered a Wordle-based game show executive produced by Fallon and hosted by Savannah Guthrie. Jimmy Kimmel will host a fifth season of Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on July 22. At Netflix Is a Joke, Jelly Roll asked audiences to put phones away during his stand-up debut, delivered self-deprecating jokes about nerves and weight loss, and later sang “Friends in Low Places,” with Andrew Schulz headlining and other comics appearing. Schulz announced Akaash Singh is leaving the Flagrant 2 podcast to focus on stand-up. The trailer for Kevin Hart's 72 Hours and Hulu's June 5 Hannah Berner special are noted, along with Carol Burnett reminiscing about learning slapstick and an interview with Toronto comedian Tyler Morrison about influences and pre-show habits.00:00 Nikki Glaser Imposter Syndrome00:51 Fallon Show Canceled01:36 Wordle Game Show Ordered02:16 Kimmel Hosts Millionaire02:41 Jelly Roll Standup Debut04:11 Akaash Leaves Flagrant04:35 Kevin Hart 72 Hours Trailer05:32 Hannah Berner Hulu Special07:12 Carol Burnett Slapstick Lessons08:13 Tyler Morrison Comedy Talk Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/daily-comedy-news-with-johnny-mac-a-daily-briefing-on-comedians-and-the-comedy-industry--4522158/support.Daily Comedy News is the number one comedy news podcast, delivering daily coverage of standup comedy, late night television, comedy specials, tours, and the business of comedy.COMEDY SURVIVOR in the facebook group.Contact John at John@thesharkdeck dot com For Uninterrupted Listening, use the Apple Podcast App and click the banner that says Uninterrupted Listening.  $4.99/month John's Substack about media is free. This is the animal sanctuary mentioned in the February 10 episode.

May 10th 2026 Everybody has low places areas that feel broken, vulnerable, discouraged, or unfinished. In this message from Nehemiah, we learn how rebuilding starts with humility and repentance, continues through perseverance in the face of opposition, and ends with God bringing restoration and joy. When the enemy mocked and discouraged the builders, Nehemiah refused to quit. Instead, the people kept building with faith, focus, and determination. If you've been carrying discouragement, distraction, fear, or spiritual exhaustion, this message will encourage you to keep building what God has called you to rebuild.   https://www.lifechurchwilm.com/

Jeremy Pinsly on Comedy & Greenpoint Comedy Club and Nashville Comedy | The Brett Allan Show This episode of The Brett Allan Show welcomes stand-up comedian, producer, and comedy entrepreneur Jeremy Pinsly. With over 15 years in the New York City comedy scene, Jeremy has built a reputation for creating unique, grassroots comedy experiences—from intimate apartment shows to full-scale club productions. Jeremy shares stories from his early days performing across NYC, producing shows everywhere from classic comedy clubs to underground speakeasies. He also reflects on his one-of-a-kind podcast with 89-year-old comedian and actress Dev Rogers, recorded in her rent-stabilized Upper West Side apartment—a project that blended generations of comedy and life wisdom. We also dive into Bubbe's Comedy Hour, the wildly successful apartment comedy show Jeremy co-created with his wife Kayla, which ran for over two years and became a cult favorite among comedy fans. Now based in Nashville, Jeremy is continuing to build the comedy scene in a major way—producing shows at iconic venues like Friends in Low Places on Broadway and launching new spaces for stand-up across the city. Most recently, he founded the Greenpoint Comedy Club, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. If you're a fan of stand-up, comedy culture, or the hustle behind building something from the ground up, this episode delivers insight, laughs, and inspiration.

In this episode of the Proper True Yarn Podcast, Beau Jones and Jordan Abbey Young take Knuckles back to Jordan's hometown of Forsayth in North Queensland for what was meant to be a wholesome country weekend and quickly turned into absolute chaos. What starts as a 2000-kilometre road trip in an old 75 Series LandCruiser becomes a full-scale lesson in small-town dynamics. Yabbie races with serious money on the line, locals who already know everything about you before you arrive, and tension brewing the moment someone decides to run their mouth at the pub.The boys unpack how a “big blue” turned out to be the most anticlimactic fight of all time, why Bo somehow always manages to miss the action by going for a piss, and how rumours grow legs faster than facts in a town of eighty people. By the end of the weekend, stories of coward punches, fires, and alleged violence are circulating, despite almost nothing actually happening.Things escalate further at the Forsayth Turnout when country music royalty Luke Geiger pulls Jordan up on stage in front of his hometown crowd. What should have been a hero moment turns into pure second-hand embarrassment when Jordan realises he doesn't know the lyrics to his own family anthem or Friends in Low Places. The episode also dives into the aftermath. More pub blues, emotional locals, a grown man crying on his mum's shoulder in front of half the town, and one of the strangest hypothetical questions ever asked between mates, ending with the unforgettable answer: “larger than not, no.”It's a raw, hilarious look at country towns, long memories, fragile egos, and why going home is never as simple as it sounds. If you're into outback stories, small-town pub fights, country music chaos, road trips gone wrong, and real Australian yarns, this episode delivers exactly that.Messy, honest, and completely unapologetic.A proper true yarn from the bush.#propertrueyarn

What better way to usher in the 90s than with the signature song by the 90s' signature artist? With his 1990 hit Friends in Low Places, Garth Brooks did nothing less than usher country music into the wider cultural conscience. But why? What is it about this song, and Brooks's interpretation of it, that resonated so strongly that it essentially set the tone for country music in the 90s? And why didn't Mark Chesnutt's version have a similar effect?

As Jeremy describes, GCC's mission is "to run the highest quality show possible while also giving younger comics a chance to get their start." Greenpoint Comedy Club will serve as an incubator for the comedy scene. With a mission to bring "the hang" back, guests and performers are welcome to mingle and network before and after performances. We've intentionally designed this space so you can grab a drink and meet new friends all night long." With a cozy atmosphere, ample seating and a top tier alcohol program curated by industry veteran and skilled mixologist Dory Greenberg, GCC aims to be a spot where you can grab a great drink and stay a while. While comedy is at the heart of everything Greenpoint Comedy Club does, the club will also feature live music, writing workshops and even after school programs with the intention of offering a space for creatives of all types to gather. Is Garth Brooks secretly a serial killer… or is the internet just doing what it does best? In this episode of the Sofa King Podcast, we dive headfirst into one of the strangest internet conspiracies of all time: the Garth Brooks Serial Killer Theory. What started as a joke — fueled by comedian Tom Segura and some truly uncanny social media videos — has grown into full-blown internet lore complete with missing-person rumors, creepy country lyrics, and the infamous Chris Gaines era. We break down where the conspiracy came from, why people find it so entertaining, and how circumstantial “evidence” like tour dates, ranch life, and Garth's unsettlingly wholesome persona turned into a meme that refuses to die. Along the way, we separate fact from fiction, explain why there's zero real evidence behind the theory, and explore how internet culture turns coincidence into mythology. This episode is a satirical deep dive, blending comedy, true-crime parody, internet history, and country-music lore. No accusations, no claims — just laughs, analysis, and a look at how absurd conspiracies take on a life of their own.

Pure entertainment gold on The Jay Franze Show.Hosts Jay Franze and Tiffany Mason kick things off by diving into the swirling conspiracy theories surrounding Taylor Swift's engagement. From the podcast proposal cover-up (did Travis plan it all along?) to the significance of the number 13 in the announcement timing, they examine the most intriguing fan theories while sharing genuine excitement for the couple. The hosts balance healthy skepticism with appreciation for Swift's calculated brilliance, concluding that while some theories stretch credibility, the engagement genuinely appears to be a moment of authentic love rather than a marketing stunt. The conversation shifts to a lively roundup of country music news, exploring Russell Dickerson's deeply personal "Famous Back Home," Old Dominion's most vulnerable album yet, and Bon Jovi's surprising country collaborations with Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll. When a Gallup poll suggests Americans are drinking less alcohol, the hosts contemplate whether this cultural shift might change country music's long-standing relationship with drinking themes - though they remain confident these classic motifs aren't disappearing anytime soon. The show's heart lies in an electrifying listener-driven debate about the greatest party song of all time. As nominations flood in ranging from Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" to "Old Time Rock and Roll" and "Red Solo Cup," Jay and Tiffany methodically narrow down contenders through an entertaining elimination process that ultimately crowns "Celebration" as the undisputed champion. Booze is a loosener of lips, a loosener of hips, and a shared experience for many adults – although respect to our sober brothers and sisters, especially in these challenging times.
