Vanessa, ce matin on s'envole dans la Gard pour vivre une expérience insolite … … Magique ! vous faites bien d'employer le mot s'envoler, on part véritablement voler. Une expérience unique au monde. Doublement magique grâce au lieu : ca se passe dans une grotte immense : 120 mètres de long, 80 de large et 40 mètres de plafond ! Cette grotte de la salamandre, elle se situe au nord du Gard. Pourquoi ce nom ? Quand les spéléologues explorent la cavité en 1965, ils descendent en rappel et se retrouvent en bas nez a nez avec une salamandre. Vous pouvez vous aussi la descendre en rappel : vous êtes encadrés par un moniteur, vous descendez 20 mètres dans le puits d'accès puis 30 dans le vide. Belle émotion pour la découvrir, mais moi je préfère la ressentir en m'élevant. Je m'explique : en Mr tournesol de génie, Jean-Pierre David a créé une sorte d'énorme libellule pour voler, planer au-dessus au-dessus des géants de cristal, les stalagmites, en toute sécurité. Une sorte de libellule ? Un aéroplume, un dirigeable gonflé à l'hélium :10 m de long et 5 de haut que vous manœuvrez seul. La seule condition : faire entre 40 et 80 kg. J'étais juste... Vous vous glissez dans le harnais fixé sous le ballon, vous enfilez vos bras dans des ailes. Et la c'est parti, vous êtes un plumonaute, vous nagez la brasse mais dans les airs. Vous volez Comme Icare. Mais pour éviter de vous brûler les ailes, un aerodriver explique comment vous mouvoir. Et si besoin, il vous remet dans l'axe avec un filin. C'est incroyable. Et on n'a pas le vertige, car aucune partie de votre corps ne touche terre. Le vol coute 80 euros et vous pouvez même le réserver pour en faire cadeau. Et cette partie du Gard vaut le détour ? Oui vous êtes entourés de 4 superbes villages de caractère : Lussan, Barjac, Montclus Aigueze. ,Et puis j'ai déniché LA maison d'hôtes : La Parenthèse à Laval-Saint-Roman : Ariane et Arnaud, les hôtes sont vraiment géniaux ! Méthode de conservation bien connue dans les campagnes alpines et les vallées depuis des siècles, les tomes servaient avant tout à constituer des réserves pour l'hiver. Pâte pressée, la tome vient du dialecte toma qui signifie fromage fabriqué en alpages. La tome au foin : issue d'une méthode de conservation des fromages dans le foin pour les protéger de l'humidité. Le foin, en séchant dégageait des arômes qui imprégnaient le fromage et le parfumaient.  Une autre tome originale est celle que l'on trouve dans les Alpes et associe une plante bien connue là-bas, le Génépi. On enveloppe la tome dans ces plantes qui vont aussi parfumer le fromage. Vous pouvez l'utiliser pour réaliser, non pas un gratin dauphinois (qui ne contient pas de fromage), mais un gratin alpin / pommes de terre, crème fraiche et tome. On peut aussi la faire fondre sur un morceau de pain et y ajouter un filet de miel et quelques noix concassées. Opportunities for involvement in sports in later life have increased significantly and many sports around the globe have competitions and categories for Masters/Veteran athletes. At the same time, researchers have explored the experiences and meanings of being an older athlete, showing tensions in individual experiences as well as in shifting social discourse surrounding sport and ageing. We have shifted from ageing-as-decline to active ageing discourses, which provide different imagination of growing old. But are there also some darker sides in the shift towards more positive visions of ageing? Rylee Dionigi is a professor in of Sport and Exercise Science at Charles Sturt University with expertise in qualitative research as well as sociology of active living and ageing. She has studied Masters sports for over 20 years and shared her insights from this extensive work in the podcast. Questions explored in the conversation include: How did the cultural discourses shift in the last 20 years? Have athletes' experiences and meanings of sport also shifted at the same time? What are the different pathways to Masters sport and do they map into different relationships with sport? Why are active ageing discourses also potentially problematic? Interested? Singapore literally would not exist without the shipping industry. In 1819 the East India Company reached agreement with the local ruler to use it as a waystation for vessels carrying opium to China. Five years later, it bought the entire country for cash. Two hundred years later, it would not be much of a stretch to describe it as a powerhouse port with a small southeast Asian city-state attached. But until last month, the International Union of Marine Insurance conference had not taken place there since 2004. Even then, Singapore's standing in the maritime industries was undeniable. But at that point it remained an emerging market in marine insurance terms. As the 600-plus delegates who assembled for this year's event were told, that is clearly no longer the case. It is now the fourth-largest hull market in the world. Its share of the global hull book now stands at 7.9%, leaving it just a fraction of a percentage point behind the once-almighty Lloyd's. Nor is it the only Asian nation to see its marine insurance presence take a great leap forward. China is now writing around 12% of world hull premiums and must now be counted as a core market for H&M. It also writes 17% of cargo business, which is more than Lloyd's and the London companies markets put together. The late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping - who died in 1997 - argued that the twenty-first century would be the Asian century. If marine insurance is anything to go by, he may have had a point.
