The Dead Set Legends Sydney Catch Up - Triple M Sydney - Gus, Jude & Wendell
Dead Set Legends is back for 2025, thanks to GIO. This week Millie Elliot & Josh Mansour join Anthony Maroon. Maroon and the Sauce clash heads on Madge and his coaching ability, Maroon thinks Madge can do no wrong and the proof is in history with all the things he has won for the Bunnies, Kiwis, Origin etc. Whereas Sauce believes he has just inherited great teams each of those times. We chat with Bronson Xerri after their 24-20 win against the Roosters and we get baby name suggestions for Millie's baby ahead of the 89 names that have been banned. Sauce's salute of the week is Dane Gagai.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The NRL team has spent a week on the tools as Jason Ryles goes old school in the preseason. The Tip Sheet looks at what the boys have been up to ranging from gardening, landscaping and bricklaying to maintenance work at Parramatta Leagues Club. It has been a busy work elsewhere for the Eels as Sixties, Forty20 and Clint look at a raft of retentions and signings as the club bolsters the NRL, NRLW and beyond. Who are the big winners and losers from the 2025 NRL draw? Where do the Eels stand after years of brutal scheduling? In other NRL news, Shane Richardson has boldly declared that the Tigers have both the best spine and best backup spine in the NRL. How close to the mark is he? Ben Hunt has landed at the Broncos but where does he fit once everyone is available? Hunt is joined on the NRL transaction list by Bronson Xerri's extension at Canterbury and Lachlan Illias shifting to the Dragons. The show looks at all of these movements and what they mean for each player and club.

On Episode 8 of the Musashi R&D Sessions Podcast, Ross and Dhiren discuss the differences between several contrasting diets in this week's topic – Plant vs Meat. The guys chew over the best plant-based sources of protein, the impact of deficiencies resulting from different diets, and performing in sports as a vegetarian. R&D also debate the ethics of meat and plant-based diets, the trade-off between protein and fibre, and the best sources of meat based on your goals. As the sporting world begins to restart, the guys address Sharks' Bronson Xerri testing positive, Mike Tyson preparing to name his comeback opponent, and the return dates of the Premier League and the NBA. This episode we finish with a pair of listener questions on running vs walking, and eating after intense exercise. R&D manage to guess the origin of a famous athlete quote pitched by Hal the Intern, and Dhiren applies the philosophy of Miyamoto Musashi to the topic using the quote: “A man cannot understand the art he is studying if he only looks for the end result without taking the time to delve deeply into the reasoning of the study.” Remember to comment and leave a review and we'll get in touch to send you a free Musashi T-shirt!

It's serious business for NRL SuperCoach, with preliminary finals for head-to-head players and of course, the overall race is looking like another close finish just like last year with a new overall leader. No Bear this week but Catfish is joined by Sam "BanyoBoy" Rohlf (@BanyoBoy), the 2017 overall champion, who shares his experience in the last two rounds and offers some wise words of wisdom to those at the pointy end. As hinted previously, Catfish is also joined by another special guest, a very familiar name and voice in Tom Sangster (!) who clears up once and for all the truth behind whether his captain gets unicorn point updates (spoiler alert: he doesn't), why he lies to us about his trade, captain and reserve options (spoiler alert again: he doesn't), and he also provides us with a look into "the other side" when they prepare to crown the new overall champion (Note: audio wasn't ideal for this section so you may need to turn up the volume from around the 7 minute mark to the 25 minute mark). Catfish and BanyoBoy then discuss a few players of interest in each of the eight games this week, including the likes of Will Hopoate, Ken Maumalo, Blake Ferguson, Connor Watson, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Daniel Tupou, Bronson Xerri, Luciano Leilua and Jackson Ford - players who might be PODs to target or potential start/sit decisions for common players in most of our teams.
