Send us your desired health topic or guest suggestionsWhat if your symptoms aren't random but signals asking for better inputs? We sit down with Dr. Alexandra Geyer, an emergency physician turned metabolic health expert, to map a clear route from “normal labs” to real recovery. Her story of hitting a wall during residency and rebuilding health informs a practical, hopeful framework that blends advanced diagnostics, evidence-backed peptides, and everyday habits that actually stick.Dr. Geyer explains why metabolic health is the engine for energy, mood, sleep, and longevity, and how to measure it beyond the scale. We then widen the lens to hormone health, including free T3 and thyroid antibodies to catch early Hashimoto's, plus sex hormones that determine drive and resilience. The message is simple: when you fix the signals, action feels possible again.Peptides step in as precision tools, not magic bullets. You'll hear how BPC-157 calms inflammation and supports tissue repair so movement stops hurting; how Selank and Semax lower neuroinflammation, lift BDNF, and restore calm focus; and how Pinealon can reset circadian rhythm with a short, yearly cycle. Safety comes first: no black-market sourcing, strict sterility and purity testing, and clear contraindications for cancer and pregnancy. We also dive into gut microbiome testing to address stubborn symptoms and the role of micronutrients when convenience foods drain capacity.By the end, you'll have a grounded plan: build lean muscle, favor whole foods that don't hijack appetite, test what matters, repair the gut, and use targeted peptides to amplify the good habits you're already trying to keep. Dunia pendidikan Indonesia kembali berduka. Apa akar masalahnya?
Kasus tewasnya Angga Bagus Perwira (12), siswa SMP Negeri 1 Geyer, Kabupaten Grobogan, yang diduga menjadi korban bullying teman sekelasnya, kembali mengusik dunia pendidikan. What happens when woodworking meets determination, technology, and a supportive community? Meet Bob Geyer, a retired public works professional turned passionate blind woodworker. After losing his sight to retinitis pigmentosa, Bob nearly gave up his tools—until a chance encounter with Woodworking for the Blind (WW4B) at Enchanted Hills Camp changed everything. In this episode, Bob shares how hands-on training, adaptive measuring tools, and accessible technology rekindled his confidence in the shop. From Bluetooth-enabled calipers and talking protractors to clever low-cost hacks like taping screws to boxes, Bob reveals how blind and visually impaired woodworkers innovate every day. Along the way, he reflects on the power of community—friends who troubleshoot projects together, swap tips online, and spark those “aha” moments that save time, energy, and frustration. Whether you're curious about woodworking or simply love stories of resilience and ingenuity, this conversation will leave you inspired to pick up new tools—and new perspectives. This week, we welcome Christian Geyer, founder and CEO of ACTFORE, for a deep dive into the world of automated breach response. From his early days in military intelligence to founding a disruptive forensics firm, Christian shares how his diverse experiences shaped a data‑driven approach to tackling one of corporate America's thorniest problems: managing the chaos of a data breach. Along the way we hear about secret clearances, cabinet making, and the humble beginnings of a startup launched from a literal closet.Christian's journey is anything but ordinary. Recruited straight into an intelligence agency at nineteen, he cut his teeth on top‑secret work before supporting Navy research labs with data dashboards that informed mission‑critical funding decisions. When an injury sidelined him from field ops, he turned to carpentry, framing houses and crafting cabinets during the mid‑2000s flip boom. That hands‑on trade remains Christian's reminder that some skills can't be automated, even as he builds AI to do the heavy lifting elsewhere. He carried that disruptive spirit into Crypsis Group, undercutting the incident response market with half‑price forensics and skyrocketing revenue from zero to $20 million in four years. COVID's budget cuts then prompted a pivot: leveraging ActiveNav's data‑discovery engine to automate breach notification. What began as a side project in a shared office closet evolved into ACTFORE, a company that in a single four‑and‑a‑half‑day engagement processed 3 million patient records across 2 000 endpoints, cementing its reputation for speed, accuracy, and onshore security. At the heart of ACTFORE's offering is an automated extraction platform powered by “infant AI” tailored to each client. Rather than shipping data overseas for human review, Christian's team uses software instances—deployed globally or on‑premise, to scan, fingerprint, and parse structured and unstructured files. Their Trace tool brings the automation into one‑click point‑and‑extract workflows, slashing keystrokes and crushing review timelines by weeks without sacrificing human‑in‑the‑loop oversight where it matters most.Looking ahead, Christian warns of a new insider threat: AI models trained on proprietary data that could be weaponized from within. While ACTFORE continues to focus on reactive breach response, Christian sees advisory and proactive scanning services on the horizon, particularly in regions with more robust data regulations. As breach frequency rises and AI proliferates, ACTFORE aims to stay ahead of the curve, turning its combination of automation, human expertise, and a closet‑born scrappiness into the next frontier of cybersecurity. This special bonus episode features Dr. Cindy Geyer from the UltraWellness Center, diving into how functional medicine approaches high blood pressure — and why treating the root cause means looking far beyond salt and stress. In this conversation, Dr. Geyer walks through the case of a woman with longstanding “white coat” hypertension, family history of cognitive decline, and no clear answers from conventional care. By investigating deeper factors like sleep quality, metabolic health, stress hormones, genetics, and gut function, Dr. Geyer shows how a systems-based approach can improve blood pressure, energy, and long-term brain health — often without medication. You'll learn: • Why blood pressure medications don't address the real problem • How stress, sleep apnea, and insulin resistance all contribute to hypertension • Why women are often misdiagnosed or overlooked when it comes to vascular risk • How gut health and food sensitivities can directly affect blood pressure • What functional medicine labs reveal that standard workups miss This is part of a limited bonus series spotlighting the work of the UltraWellness Center team, with new episodes dropping monthly on select Fridays. Join us for a discussion with Berlin tour guiding legend Matti Geyer, as we tackle the sad, mad and certainly very bad Stella Goldschlag. Born and raised to a secular Jewish Berlin family, she would take advantage of her ability to pass as 'aryan' to aid the Gestapo as a chief ‘Greifer' or ‘catcher' of Jewish people during the Nazi period. We talk about her role alongside that of husband Rolf Isaaksohn, and discuss why it might be that his actions as well as 30 other Greifer in Berlin are largely forgotten, whilst Stella's story has become infamous.++++++Love the smooth radio voice and historical insight of Matti Geyer? The summer of 1998 was coming to a close when two young women disappeared from the St. Cloud area of Minnesota. April Geyer was 21 years old, and Roseanna Forcum was just 15. April and Rose had only recently become acquainted. Although they ran in the same social circle, it wasn't immediately clear that the girls had vanished together. At that time, we were approaching the end of an era when most people didn't own cell phones. You had to wait until you reached your destination or found a pay phone to call home and inform your parents about your plans and when you would return. As April and Rose's families independently searched for them, they eventually realized they weren't alone. Two years later, an informant came forward with information indicating that April and Rose were together when they disappeared, even identifying a suspect believed to be their killer. Despite extensive searches, April and Rose were never found. Now, twenty-six years later, their families are determined to bring their stories back into the light, hoping to finally uncover the truth. If you have any information regarding the disappearance of April Geyer and Roseanna Forcum, please contact the BCA tip line at 877-996-6222.If you have a missing loved one that you would like to have featured on the show, please fill out our case submission form.Follow The Vanished on social media at:FacebookInstagramTwitterPatreonSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

During Bartok's life, the violin concerto we now know as Violin Concerto No. 2 was simply known as Bartok's only violin concerto. The reason? His first concerto, written when he was a much younger man, had never been performed or published. This was a deeply painful memory for Bartok, who had written the concerto for a woman he was in love with, Stefi Geyer, but Geyer refused both Bartok's advances and the concerto itself, and so it remained unperformed and unpublished until after Bartok's death. Bartok had written other works for violin and orchestra, including a rhapsody written for his friend and recital partner Zoltan Szekely. Szekely continuously asked Bartok to write him a full blown concerto, but Bartok refused again and again, until finally in 1936 Bartok agreed. But even then, Bartok wasn't so easy to pin down. Bartok resisted the idea of a full scale concerto, saying to Szekely that he wanted to write a theme and variations for violin and orchestra, but Szekely refused, and demanded a 3 movement standard concerto. Bartok finally agreed, but as you'll see later, he found a way to get his theme and variations in anyway! The concerto took two years to write, partly due to Bartok being busy with some of his greatest large scale works, but also because of Bartok's acute stress due to the rise of fascism across Europe. He was constantly thinking of emigrating from his native Hungary, and finally in 1938 he left. As he wrote to his friend: “What is most appalling is the imminent danger that Hungary too will surrender to this system of robbers and murderers..." All of these competing impulses - Bartok's bitter memories of his first concerto, the turbulent political siutation, and his seeming lack of confidence in writing a full scale concerto, contributed to the delay, but finally in 1938 the piece was finished and was triumphantly premiered on April 24, 1939 in Amsterdam. This concerto is one of the greatest 20th century violin concertos, and is full of a massive amount of brilliant detail as well as an urgently emotional and passionate character. It is a gigantic, nearly 40 minute long piece, and its difficulties for both the violinist and the orchestra are immense. Today we'll talk about all of the ins and outs of this remarkable concerto, including its challenges, its beauties, its emotional scope, and its brilliant combination of tonality and 12 tone music.
