Sorin Simon has always been attracted to music. It all started in his childhood home of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he took piano lessons while still in school. His passion for music only grew as the years went by and as he started to go to different festivals, Sorin decided it was time for him to become a DJ. So, in 2006, he got himself some musical equipment and started learning the tricks all by himself, taking inspiration from a:rpia:r crew at that time. That same year, he started playing music at some private parties for friends and small crowds. Slowly, he was learning the craft and by the time he moved to Jersey, in the Channel Islands in the UK, he was ready for the big stuff. Soon enough, he was a resident at one of the top clubs in the city. Time went by and in 2017 Sorin moved definitively to London where he started playing different underground events all around London. A year later, he signed to Vivus Records, an underground/independent and vinyl-only label from South Germany. Sorin has played at multiple festivals both in Romania and abroad such as Monegros Desert Festival, Sonar Off in Spain, Back To The Wild, and Electric Castle in Romania. As a producer, Sorin Simon's dark and trippy soundscapes are reminiscent of the Romanian underground scene and his first track, O dimineață târzie, remains an unreleased jam, that has nonetheless over 150k views on YouTube. Since then, he released two EPs – Ecouri Paralele at Other Thoughts Records and the track Fragmente on the VA03 released by Vivus Records. Sharing the decks with some well-known Dj's like Janeret, Crihan, Cap, Mihigh, RQZ, Cosmjn, Illan Nicciani, Triptil, Bryz, Bexu, Little Hado, Prajescu, Maher Daniel just to name few of them. Sorin aims to give the public the same lovely feeling he has when he encounters quality music and his mesmerizing and deep-dark minimal microhouse does just that. His goal was never to be a people pleaser, but to please the right people. His first encounter with electronic music was in 2010, then he found Romanian minimal in 2019. Since then, he has gradually begun to share his vibes through music for his audience. His music combines inventiveness and darkness. His playing style is defined by these genres. In the previous several years, he has been able to develop his musical style, releasing a slew of original productions and more. For their inaugural release, Los Angeles based label, Like.Minded teams up with Wyro, and his cutting edge, no-frills minimal. Title track Mirage kicks off the EP with a wandering yet driving arp rounded out by a masterfully compressed bassline. The A2, Monsoon and its blanket of grand piano offer up an understated, uplifting resolve. Sprouts brings the EP back to the dancefloor - but this time an ear catching breakbeat swing paired with a lush, pitch-bent chord and breezy vocal sample carry the mind to a deeper, more spacious place. Wrapping up the EP, BRYZ gives his take on Sprouts adding to the percussion a subtle shuffle and clean analog keys. Essential textured cuts for the discerning DJ. Vinyl only

The Philadelphia Flyers returned home to the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night with the goal of getting back on track and breaking a three game losing streak after a disastrous road trip. The orange and black accomplished this goal, and improving their home record to 11-2-4 (.765) with a 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Carter Hart was spectacular, making a season high 40 saves (had two 40-save, and two 41-save games last season) to secure the win, and stop his own personal losing skid at two. Hart was 0-2-0, .885 in two starts and a third period relief appearance on the trip, but was once again dominant at home. For the season, Hart is 9-1-2 with a .944 save-percentage in home games. The 21-year-old netminder has given up only a single goal in four of his last five starts at the Wells Fargo Center, and on that home ice has given up three goals only twice in twelve games. Through 23 appearances (21 starts), Hart has surrendered more than three goals only three times, all on the road (4 GA @ FLA; 4 GA @ EDM; 5 GA @ NYI). There was once a goaltender in this city who spoke on a premium cable network about how this city is hell for goalies. Well, Hart does not seem to have a problem shouldering the load in the City of Brotherly Love. Damn, if only Bryz had worked out. He would’ve been so much fun. I just fell down a rabbit hole of his 24/7 stuff. Freakin’ gold. Ok, anyway, check out the postgame. You know the drill. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The next one, a remix by Sublee, brings in some deep dub pads to continue the trip. The third one, by Mihai Pol and his characteristic groove, starts moving the dance floor. Coming next, a partial by an unknown hungarian artist, plays with different tones and borders dissonance, while still being beautiful. Herck comes up next and brings melodical strings and vocals, combined with some serious groove. Then, Cristi Cons bring us the ultimate elegant groove to get everyone dancing once more. A bomb by BRYZ comes next and makes it impossible not to move your body. After that, Cosmjn comes with a deep groove and melodical pads to make your thoughts go away. Then, BRYZ comes once more with a happy bass line to bring the listener back on track. Reaching towards the end, Christopher Ledger makes his way with a full-bodied deep sound and a pretty piano melodie. To conclude this set, Viktor Udvari relaxes the listener with his engaging sound and typical Hungarian vocal samples." The story about how I got into this is quite simple. I always loved techno music but I never considered trying mixing. So my friends got me into this private party where a local dj was playing. Because there were few people all the action was around the dj and his setup. This dude had an allen&heat mixer and two cdj-350s. Seeing him mix I started to want to try. So I got myself a pioneer ddj-400 and started fooling around for a few months. And here I am. My artist name is “amaru”, which is the end of “junkamaru”, which is a derivate of my real name Juncu. Even I don't know how it went there but I like it. Portfolio link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB1tWySA_L06xQO-rdmfUzg Current city: Fagaras, Brasov, Romania
