They passed a bill to defund the Taliban. 04:00 Well, wait a minute, hold on. What are you talking about? Defund the Taliban. So if our Congress passed a bill to defund the Taliban, what does that tell you has been going on for a while now? We've been funding the Taliban. 04:20 Over in Afghanistan. 04:23 because of the abysmal and who did that? Well, that was the Biden administration with that pullout of Afghanistan. We're now funding those people. But listen to this. This is from, uh I think it's Alison in the know over at Lindale TV talking to John Thune. Listen to this. Thune, the House passed Tim Burch's bill to defund the Taliban. I think it was 11 months ago. Every week that goes by, they get another $40 million. When can the American people expect to see a vote on this? And do you expect it to pass? 04:53 uh... don't know when ... 1937 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 22:05:00 +0000 MiiITdXJZYY0ho7Ta48O35nGlbj4CwiH news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Hour 3 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. a callerDuring Hour 2, Segment 2 of The Charlie James Show on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, a passionate caller drove a segment that targeted establishment Republicans, questioning the future of the state's leadership and pointing fingers over the spectacular collapse of the SC redistricting bill.Summary of the Caller's Argument:The "Pam Evette as McMaster 2.0" Question: The caller sharply questioned the gubernatorial candidacy of Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette. They expressed deep skepticism about her platform, framing her not as a fresh conservative outsider, but as an extension of the current administration—essentially "McMaster 2.0". The caller argued that her campaign relies too heavily on Governor Henry McMaster's endorsement rather than offering a truly aggressive, new direction for South Carolina.Blaming Senator Lindsey Graham: Turning to the failed mid-decade redistricting effort, the caller directed heavy fire at U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham. They accused Graham and his establishment allies of working behind the scenes to quietly undermine or dilute the aggressive, Trump-backed redistricting push. The caller voiced a common frustration among the show's populist base: that Graham consistently maneuvers to protect establishment interests rather than fighting for maps that maximize conservative power.Redistricting Outrage: The caller tied these two points together, claiming that the broader failure to pass the new congressional maps during the special session is symptomatic of an uninspiring, passive Republican leadership class in South Carolina that refuses to fight the political left.Charlie James used the call to pivot into a broader discussion on the split within the state's GOP electorate as voters head to the newly opened early voting booths today ahead of the June primaries.

Governor Series - interview with SC Liutenant Governor and Gubnatorial Candidate Pamela Evette - Part 1 full 00:00 Welcome to News Talk 98.9, WORD's exclusive South Carolina Governor Series. Powered by Gosling Electric. An in-depth free flow conversation with the leading candidates. Here are your hosts, Charlie James and Joey Hudson. 00:16 Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Charlie James along with Joey Hudson. This is the 98.9 WORD Governor Series and we're being joined this afternoon by Lieutenant Governor Pamela Ebbett and we want to thank our friends at Gosling Electrical for sponsoring this segment. Lieutenant Governor, welcome. Thank you for being with us this afternoon for the Governor's Forum. Redistricting being discussed right now in the State House. How important is it that we get this done and 00:43 Does your opinion on this differ from the governor's? No. First off, I was at the State House all morning watching um everybody go through the 600 amendments. I want to start by saying um great job to Speaker Smith coming in with some new rules to try to move this along. We definitely don't want the clock to run out on it. It's really important. It's important because the people of South Carolina want to see it done. It's important because it's 01:11 really bigger than even our state, right? This is an issue that will shape what happens in our nation and we can't lose the Senate. We can't lose the House. We need to give President Trump everything he needs to move forward. um In South Carolina, we deserve to have a 7-0. We deserve to send seven conservative members to Congress. um And you know, what scares me, what scares the governor, 01:41 is losing and you know what the next two years will be like. It will be impeach, impeach, bottleneck, impeach. um But you know, we feel that this is what the citizens want. This is what's best for our nation. And Charlie, Joey, it hasn't been that long ago. And I hope people remember just how horrible the era of the Biden administration was with an open border. 02:09 and fentanyl running over that border and lawlessness in the streets and defund the police. We could go on and on with those horrible, horrible policies. That's why it's important to do what we're doing. That's why it's important what's happening in other red states. And I've been saying this for the last week now. Thank you to President Trump once again for putting a spotlight on what the Democrats have been doing forever. And as soon as he does that, they try to change the narrative. I mean, it's the Democrat way. 02:39 Let's change the narrative, let's flip it around, let's confuse people. And they're doing it right in the house. We saw it happen in South Carolina State House. Democrats coming in and trying to confuse the issue, basically saying, oh, if you move this map, we could pick up a seat, an extra seat, we could pick up two extra seats. It could be a four, three, it could be a five, two. But I mean, I would love your opinions because you hear from listeners all the time. 03:08 If the Democrats felt like they could pick up one or two seats, would they have thrown down 600 amendments to stop this? Yeah. Before we move on to this too, the NAACP announcing boycotts of South Carolina encouraging young African-Americans not to come to school here, not to play sports here. Your response to that? Well, I think what they're doing is they're actually hurting African-American young adults. 03:34 This is a great state, we have a great educational system. mean, anytime you start playing these games, and we see what happens. I am so disenchanted with leadership. We can, we might as well talk about SC State, right? Let's just rip the Band-Aid off. And that was something, to me, where I became angry was that where was the leadership? 04:03 Where were professors? Why weren't they sitting down these young adults and telling them real facts? President Trump has done more for historically black colleges and universities than any president in our history. That's a fact. You know, the General Assembly, we have super ... 1381 Tue, 19 May 2026 20:33:00 +0000 J1iEoSw1j8CNrsYRNa90W9ebN61WPhJm news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Governor Series - interview with SC Liutenant Governor and Gubnatorial Candidate Pamela Evette - Part 1 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. Governor Series - interview with SC Liutenant Governor and Gubnatorial Candidate Pamela Evette - Part 2 full 00:00 Powered by Guzzling Electric. Once again, Charlie James and Joey Hudson. 00:16 And good afternoon. This is the 98.9 WORD Governor Series. I'm Charlie James along with Joey Hudson. Special thanks to our friends at Gosling Electrical Services. We're being joined this afternoon by Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evitt who is running for Governor of South Carolina. Lieutenant Governor, thank you for being with us. South Carolina faces growing energy demand. have uh growing manufacturing facilities, population. Couple cities here in the upstate of South Carolina, the fastest growing cities. 00:45 in the state, what's your plan to keep energy affordable and reliable over the next decade? Well that is something that I've been really focused on for the last few years. I've traveled around the country with RSLC talking on panels about energy and know energy security is national security. think last year with the energy bill that was passed that was a great kind of shot in the arm for us here in South Carolina. 01:11 Right now today, South Carolina, 58 % of our energy has gotten through nuclear. And so the resurrection of VC Summer was a great thing. All of it being done with private equity dollars, so not going to the rate payers, which is, that was a must after what had happened prior. Brookfield was in my office. Probably, again, my weeks all are merging together, probably about four or five weeks ago. 01:39 And you know, they're saying six to six and a half years, we'll have that up and running two reactors going to four. We have the possibility to six reactors. We have six licenses here in the state. It would be a game changer for us as a state. Turning our coal plants into natural gas plants, something that I'm, something I've really liked, gentlemen, I have loved being Lieutenant Governor because I have been able to travel the state and sit with people and find out what's affecting people. 02:08 in their area, you know, in real time, and that's important. So I was doing a roundtable uh down in Myrtle Beach, and there was a developer there that was talking about the pipeline, and he said to me, he said, Lieutenant Governor, you know, we really didn't, we missed the ball with that piece of legislation. I was like, what part of it? And he said, well, we don't have an increased pipe coming into Horry County. 02:36 And with that means that we can't build vertical, you know, we have an energy problem, people are having to resort to propane, we're having, you know, there's gonna be tanks above ground everywhere, it's gonna be an eyesore. And I was like, that was the first time I had ever heard that. Went back to Columbia, did some research, talked to my friends on that committee, and here, the bill to actually... 03:01 Well, it was a lawsuit that was brought, but it was sitting on one of the Supreme Court justice's desks. It just hadn't been signed yet. That got signed, and a few weeks ago, I was standing out at the site where they were putting in the bigger line, actually to go through Georgetown, through Horry County, Myrtle Beach to North Myrtle Beach, um to actually deliver them the energy they need. That is really important as we grow. 03:25 especially with the careers of tomorrow, I believe we're in the middle of an industrial revolution when it comes to what are the careers of tomorrow gonna look like. And as your next governor, I am really focused on one, how do we have the energy we need to do that, which means we have to put things like expanding nuclear on the table, making sure we have enough natural gas to uh support dispatchable energy. um 03:51 And then making sure that our K through 12 system and our higher education system is prepared to um create that workforce. We cannot be behind the eight ball with this because things are changing fast. But energy is going to play a key role into our growth, the type of industries that can come here. And the fact that we are diversifying in that, Joey, ... 1498 Tue, 19 May 2026 21:04:00 +0000 jFrqxitKNRrFAGkKnCwVLVTJQPr5sc5I news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Governor Series - interview with SC Liutenant Governor and Gubnatorial Candidate Pamela Evette - Part 2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. But I mean, I would love your opinions because you hear from listeners all the time. 03:08 If the Democrats felt like they could pick up one or two seats, would they have thrown down 600 amendments to stop this? Yeah, yeah. Before we move on to this too, the NAACP announcing boycotts of South Carolina encouraging young African-Americans not to come to school here, not to play sports here. Your response to that? Well, I think what they're doing is they're actually hurting African-American young adults. 03:35 This is a great state, we have a great educational system. mean, anytime you start playing these games, and we see what happens. I am so disenchanted with leadership. We can, we might as talk about SC State, right? Let's just rip the Band-Aid off. And that was something, to me, where I became angry was that where was the leadership? 04:03 Where were professors? Why weren't they sitting down these young adults and telling them real facts? President Trump has done more for historically black colleges and universities than any president in our history. That's a fact. You know, the General Assembly, we have super major ... 2874 Tue, 19 May 2026 21:10:00 +0000 EyVk3klrLOgMEV9hYz76HLLFRnGvwCPm news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Governor Series - Interview with SC Lieutenant Governor and Gubanortial Canidate Pamela Evette The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. In the third hour of The Charlie James Show on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the program focused on the legislative collapse of redistricting efforts in Columbia and a massive fraud scandal in North Carolina.Segment 9 & 10: SC Redistricting FailureInterview with Congressman William Timmons: Timmons joined the show to discuss the South Carolina Senate's failure to pass the redistricting vote earlier that day. While Timmons maintained that a "7-0" map (favoring Republicans in all seven districts) was a fantastic goal, he emphasized the need for "correct math" to avoid creating more problems in the future.Senate Vote Outcome: The push for a mid-decade redistricting effectively failed in the SC Senate because it could not reach the required two-thirds majority to extend the legislative session. Five Republican senators joined Democrats to block the move, meaning Rep. Jim Clyburn's Democratic-leaning 6th District will likely remain intact for the 2026 midterms.Segment 11: The "RINO" DebateRepublican Identity in SC: Following the redistricting failure, Charlie James questioned the identity of those who claim the "Republican" label in South Carolina but voted against the party's redistricting efforts. The segment criticized Senate leadership, specifically Shane Massey, for resisting pressure from both the House and President Trump, who had explicitly called on the Senate to "be bold and courageous".Segment 12: North Carolina Fraud ScandalsAutism Billing Surge: In North Carolina, State Auditor Dave Boliek recently flagged a staggering 47,000% increase in Medicaid billings for autism therapy over a five-year period. Billings skyrocketed from $1.4 million in 2020 to $660 million in 2025, prompting widespread concerns about massive systemic fraud.I.C.E. Fraud Bust: The segment also highlighted recent enforcement actions involving I.C.E. and federal investigators targeting fraud rings that have exploited state-funded programs
In the first hour of the show, Charlie James opens with a warning that failing to get involved in politics allows leadership to drift, specifically highlighting the brewing battle over South Carolina redistricting and the role of Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey. The tension rises in the second segment, where Massey, along with Senators Sean Bennett and Tom Davis, are called out for allegedly stalling the redistricting vote, creating a rift between the Senate leadership and the GOP grassroots. This delay takes on a national urgency in the third segment, which explores how the current SC redistricting map could provide Democrats with a strategic opportunity to retake the U.S. House of Representatives. Finally, the hour concludes with a sharp cultural critique of the segment of the population that remains ideologically or fearfully tied to the Coronavirus pandemic even now, in 2026.
Governor Series - Interview with District 5 Congressman and Gubernatorial Canidate Ralph Norman Part 1 full 00:01 News Talk 98.9 WORD's exclusive South Carolina Governor Series. Powered by Gosling Electric. An in-depth free flow conversation with the leading candidates. Here are your hosts, Charlie James and Joey Hudson. Good afternoon and welcome to the Governor's Series on News Talk 98.9 WORD. I'm Charlie James along with Joey Hudson and our very special guest this afternoon 00:25 is Congressman Ralph Norman, is running for governor of South Carolina. Congressman, welcome. Hope you're doing well, sir. Always glad to be with you. So let me just start off with one of the big questions that everybody's talking about right now, redistricting. Where are we on redistricting right now? You were one of the first people to call for it. How important is it in South Carolina that we get these districts redrawn? It's very important. I called for it back in July last year when I announced it's a racially motivated drawn district that has no place. 00:55 in South Carolina. like Jim Clyburn, but the fact that of the 14 counties, it cuts into eight of them. This in black white is South Carolinians, is Americans having the right to be in a district that's drawn fairly. We all represent 720, 730,000 people. And it's gerrymandered to, I've never seen one this bad, to be honest with you. 01:23 I mean, you've got to be a psychic or a surveyor to find out what precinct you vote in. And oh the people deserve that. If you took a poll of the people in the sixth district that would want it redrawn fairly, then I think it would be overwhelming. Absolutely. Congressman, you have emphasized fiscal discipline during your service in the U.S. House. Talk with us about, if you're in the governor's mansion, uh things that you see in the state budget. 01:53 that could be cut. Give us a couple of specifics and areas that we're just literally overspending. Well, that's one of the driving reasons I decided to run for governor. The fact that this corruption, this waste, this fraud and this abuse, it just is. And people ask me all the time, well, give me an example. Well, look at the billion dollars they found last year, all of a sudden appeared, and then it disappeared. You've got a core small group of people that's controlling the budget. 02:23 Look at Scout Motors. That's abuse at its worst and waste uh right along with that. An electric car company that got a billion three of our tax money and then moved the headquarters to Charlotte? It doesn't make sense. No clawback on the money. Politicians can't make business decisions. They just can't. That's not going to happen with Ralph Norman. It comes from being in the business arena for 40 years. I've made money and I've lost money. 02:53 uh The captain for your viewers view go online and and look at Captain Sam spit It's a name for an a small 130 acre track at the end of Keowa Island. They paid 32 million to not develop it When I asked a lot of the legislators they didn't know about it. That's no excuse uh Ignorance is not bliss uh ignorance needs to be 03:20 called out, I will do that, but it'll never get to that point where you give away money that should be on our roads, should be on our bridges, it should be on our safety, the way we elect our judges is a joke. So I guess if I had to sum it up, Joey, I'm not giving anything away. We've got, from what I see in Congress, the New Yorkers that are fleeing New York because of the socialistic policies. 03:48 Virginia just elected a Marxist socialist in Spanberger. Guess where they're coming? South Carolina. They're not going to take advantage of us. If they don't have our culture, they don't have our, just don't value our way of life. And that's one thing that's been great about running for governor, going all over the state. Cities and counties have a certain type of heritage that they value. And if the companies don't embody that, 04:18 faith, family, and freedom. This is a common theme through all of it. Then why give our money away? ... 1380 Mon, 11 May 2026 20:30:00 +0000 AN1UMZ7vohxG3yPfdMweYvPMOPNPqB7D news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Governor Series - Interview with District 5 Congressman and Gubernatorial Canidate Ralph Norman Part 1 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. Well, as you just heard, our governor series is going to continue this afternoon coming up at four o'clock. We're going to be speaking with Fifth District Congressman Ralph Norman about his bid to be the next governor of South Carolina. Now, this is going to be an important race. It really is. Because we've got so 00:29 much to do here in South Carolina. And I know it's crazy because everything that we have to do, listen, I want you to listen to this. Everything that we need to do here in South Carolina. 00:46 should have already been done. Everything should have been done by now. We should have had funding for roads. should have had funding for infrastructure. should have all of this stuff. Every remember most of the things that these people in the state legislature are running for. When they come glad handing you asking for your vote, why don't you ask them? Why haven't you done this before? 01:18 Why, yeah, I'm state representative, Fawkes and Mouth, and I'm going to do something about our roads. Well, hell, you've been in Columbia for 30 years. Why haven't you done something about them yet? That's what I want to know. You've known that our bridges were absolute garbage for at least a decade now. Why haven't you, why didn't you do it? No, no, no, no, no, can't do that. Can't do that. 01:45 That doesn't satisfy our Democrat overlords, which is what they have. And that's the only way you can explain it. Democrat overlords is what these rhinos have in Columbia. That would not make them happy. A well-run state would not make them happy. They're more in the line of, let's have a whole lot of chaos and let's do all of this spending $330 million in earmark. 02:15 They built, well I don't know if they're building them, but at very least they're buying them. 02:24 They're buying dwellings. I don't know if they're homes. I don't know if they're cabins. I don't know what they are. But they're dwellings so that tired artists can take a rest. Oh, I can't wait. My wife's an artist. My wife is tired. We're gonna go, I wanna see what this is like. And when I do, I'm gonna live stream it. 02:53 I want you to I want to put in the application. We're going to find out where these things are and we're going to go and my wife is going to have a rest. Literally. That's crazy. 03:08 Wait a minute, hold on. Where are the restful destination for talk show host? Can I be considered an artist? Can I please? What about you? You folks who work at BMW. You folks who work anywhere in the upstate. Do you get a special place that you can go and rest? No, but the artist, Charlie. Oh, Charlie. 03:38 We've got to think about the artist, Charlie. It's the artist. That's what we got to think about. Well, that was that was something like three million dollars. Ridiculous. Let's go to John in Spartanburg and talk to him. John, welcome. Hey, Charlie, how doing? I'm great, bud. What's up? I got one question for you. OK, you go. You don't go get your vaccine. 03:59 I'm gonna roll my arm up. I'm gonna get the the hantavirus vaccine. I'm gonna put on my mask. I'm gonna do social distance. I can't wait for Walmart to put those arrows up. Let me know which which aisle I can I can go down. it's gonna be crazy John. did you know this in the past since last week? Do you know how many articles have been written about hantavirus? 100,000. oh 04:30 taking it. Oh yeah absolutely it's a coming it's coming I appreciate it. 04:39 There you go. There you go. Appreciate it, buddy. Thank you. Oh, yeah. We'll talk about hantavirus coming up in just a little bit. But some of the big news of the day is that attempted Trump assassin Cole Allen has pled not guilty. In federal court, and I'm going to tell you something, I'll be honest with you. I don't blame him. I don't blame him. I plead not guilty to. 05:08 That's exactly. And I tell yo ...

00:03 And now, back to News Talk 98.9, WORD's exclusive Governor Series. Powered by Guzzling Electric. Once again, Charlie James and Joey Hudson. 00:22 Welcome back to the Governor's Series on News Talk 98.9 WORD brought to you by Gosling Electric. I'm Charlie James along with Joey Hudson. We're talking with Congressman Ralph Norman. Congressman Norman, there was recently a famous exchange between Representative Mike Kasky and Representative Sarita Edgerton, where Mike Kasky said that representatives don't actually read the bills in Columbia. 00:47 Is that truly a Republican form of government if our legislators aren't reading the bills? Both parties aren't reading the bills. What they do, what is rampant at the federal level and at the state level, your staff writes the bills and that's why it's so important to recycle people out. It ought to happen to staff too and those career bureaucrats who many are nice people but they end up writing the legislation. No, that's exactly right. 01:16 Serita reads everything. I'm on the budget committee. I try to read as much as I can. I was on rules committee and it takes a lot of time to read. I mean, if you don't read the things that are affecting the people in South Carolina, what good are you? But he just admitted what's obvious. exactly right. One of the things that President Trump has been successful at at the federal level is to eliminate regulations that are just 01:45 simply not needed. What would you do at the state level and give us some examples of regulatory issues that you would try to eliminate? First of all I would go to the law enforcement and ask what, where do we need to change the laws that will actually enforce some things like the Frederico case where the girl was shot and the killer was had been out 23 or 24 times. 02:15 What needs to be changed if anything or was it just things not judges just letting them out? ah I would go to the businesses like the truckers who we got involved with because they were being charged a citation for going over bridges that they had no way of knowing that they didn't support the weight load. They did at one time. I said what needs to be changed? I'll go with the I've got a insurance uh lady that 02:43 My chief of staff recommended that I talk with, and I called her. She says, I just want to give back the insurance and the whole medical field that's filtered through insurance companies with uh so many of the people. I can't afford it. She said, but I know the ins and outs to go to fix it. And affordable health care is non-existent. We will start to building blocks to find out what changes can we make, even if it's incremental. 03:12 the changes you can make to make uh health care more affordable. I'm a big proponent of loser pays. things that insurance premiums we're paying, have they ever come down? No, it's like electricity bill, has it ever come down? It has not. Talk to any restaurant on the joint and several liability with the lawsuit that a uh law firm can bring in every 03:40 restaurant that you had a drink, regardless if you got drunk at one, and bring in all these other restaurants, we're going to fix that. They did a, I call it a postage stamp as a cure for it, but it didn't happen. I'd get with some of the meanest lawyers who have nothing to gain the system, and I ask, how can we fix this joint service so that restaurant owners are not charging outlandish prices for every meal? 04:09 because of the premiums you're having to pay. Had one OBGYN tell me I got rid of all my malpractice, he was OBGYN, he said I've had it, I'm not going to work. I think he said five months of the year paying a premium. I go to the businesses that understand it. If it were in your field, I'd say what regulation in the media world is redundant or doesn't make sense or costs you money. And then I weigh it and then that's how I... 04:38 that's how we'll cut regulations, that's how we'll solve or start solving the aff ...

Hour 1 of The Charlie James Show on May 1, 2026, criticized Governor McMaster for proclaiming Arab-American Heritage Month, framing it as "identity politics" that alienates the conservative base. The broadcast further discussed pressures for a mid-decade redistricting to target District 6 and argued that while the "radical left" views conservatives as an enemy, state GOP leadership fails to recognize this hostility. Listen to the full episode on Apple Podcasts.
In the second hour of the broadcast, Charlie James sharpened his critique of establishment "RINOs" in Washington and Governor Henry McMaster's perceived hesitation to aggressively pursue mid-decade redistricting, despite meeting with White House officials to discuss the matter. The show contrasted this with the bold rhetoric of Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, who has consistently called for redrawing maps to dismantle the "Democratic stronghold" in Rep. Jim Clyburn's 6th Congressional District. Meanwhile, the segment addressed the fierce opposition from the left, where figures like Clyburn have denounced such efforts as "Jim Crow 2.0" and a "never-ending" attempt to disenfranchise minority voters following recent Supreme Court rulings.
Across all four hours, the Friday, May 1, 2026, broadcast of The Charlie James Show served as a sharp critique of the Republican establishment and a call for aggressive conservative reform in South Carolina and beyond.Hour 1: Analyzed the SC gubernatorial field's push for "Trump-style" conservatism while condemning Governor McMaster's "liberal" proclamation of Arab-American Heritage Month.Hour 2: Debated the high-stakes redistricting of SC-06, contrasting Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette's bold stance against McMaster's perceived hesitation and leftist "Jim Crow 2.0" rhetoric.Hour 3: Focused on the national stage, covering Trump's rally in The Villages, the movement to oust Senator John Thune, and Ag Secretary Brooke Rawlings' crackdown on SNAP fraud.Hour 4: Evaluated local lawmakers via the Freedom Index and compared Tennessee's aggressive redistricting push to South Carolina's, while warning that public schools have shifted from education to political indoctrination.
In the final hour, Charlie James tackled the economic squeeze of inflation through the lens of rising Starbucks prices before diving into the 2026 Freedom Index, where he graded South Carolina lawmakers on their conservative voting records. The discussion then shifted to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee's aggressive redistricting push, which James used to highlight "RINOs" like Becky Massey and contrast with South Carolina's own leadership. Finally, the segment concluded with a sharp critique of the public school system, alleging that schools are focused on political indoctrination rather than traditional education.
On the May 1, 2026, episode of the Charlie James show, the first segment of the fourth hour addressed consumer backlash regarding rising costs at Starbucks and profiled Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. The discussion highlighted a $9 coffee price point amid broader inflationary concerns, before shifting to an analysis of Platner's unique campaign, which has drawn attention for both its unconventional tactics and the candidate's controversial past.
On the Friday, May 1, 2026, the second segment of hour 2 of The Charlie James Show, host Charlie James criticized Washington "RINOs" for failing to advance the conservative agenda. The segment also analyzed Gov. Henry McMaster's resistance to redrawing South Carolina's congressional maps, a position James argued reflects a lack of aggressive leadership despite pressure from the White House. Listen to the full episode at The Charlie James Show Podcast.
In the first segment of the second hour on Friday, May 1, 2026, Charlie James critiqued establishment Republicans and Governor McMaster's latest position on the state's congressional maps.
In the second segment of the first hour of The Charlie James Show on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Charlie James focused on a dramatic escalation in rhetoric concerning the war in Iran. James analyzed a social media post from President Trump made earlier that morning, in which the President claimed that Iranian officials had "informed us that they are in a 'State of Collapse.'" James discussed how this announcement coincided with a stalemate in peace talks, as Trump reportedly rejected a new Iranian proposal that sought to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without addressing the regime's nuclear program. The segment highlighted the internal chaos within Tehran following the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during Operation Epic Fury, with James weighing the administration's "maximum pressure" strategy against the ongoing economic strain of rising oil prices affecting listeners in the Upstate.

During the second hour of The Charlie James Show on April 28, 2026, Charlie James shifted from national headlines to political strategy and safety, starting with an interview with RNC Secretary Kiersten Pels on GOP midterm tactics. The discussion moved into the rise of political violence and online threats before featuring former Representative Adam Morgan, who warned that the South Carolina legislature has only eight days left to pass critical bills. The hour concluded with a fiery segment on media bias, where James argued that the mainstream press has "shown its true colors" in its coverage following the third assassination attempt on President Trump.
In the opening segment of the second hour of The Charlie James Show on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Charlie James interviewed Kiersten Pels, the newly appointed Secretary of the Republican National Committee (RNC), to discuss the GOP's strategic roadmap for the 2026 midterm elections. Pels, who recently transitioned from her role as communications director for Senator Ron Johnson to join Joe Gruters' leadership team at the RNC, outlined a "Back to Basics" campaign focused on tax cuts, border security, and countering "lawfare" tactics. During the interview, she emphasized the importance of expanding the Republican House and Senate majorities to support the Trump administration's agenda, specifically noting that the upcoming June 9th primary in South Carolina would serve as a critical bellwether for voter enthusiasm in the Upstate.

In the first hour and first segment of the April 28, 2026, edition of The Charlie James Show, Charlie James opened with a high-energy breakdown of two major national stories: King Charles III's historic joint address to Congress and the second indictment of former FBI Director James Comey. James analyzed the King's message of solidarity following the recent shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, while framing Comey's indictment—sparked by a cryptic social media post of seashells that allegedly read "86 47"—as a flashpoint in the administration's ongoing "lawfare" battles. Throughout the segment, James connected these headlines to the local mood in the Upstate, debating how such high-stakes political drama might influence voter sentiment ahead of the June 9th primary in South Carolina.
During the April 27, 2026, broadcast, Charlie James argued that the weekend's shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was the direct result of violent radical left ideology, highlighting how suspect Cole Tomas Allen exploited hotel security lapses to target the event. The show transitioned into state and local issues, advocating for the elimination of the South Carolina income tax, questioning Amazon's liability for subcontractor negligence, and criticizing uncontrolled development and industrial fires in the Upstate. Finally, James addressed cultural divides by urging common sense over "Trump Derangement Syndrome," while slamming Hakeem Jeffries' aggressive rhetoric and Jimmy Kimmel's mockery of the recent violence.
