Listen to today's podcast... Approximately 1 in 5 seniors say that they are lonely. People can become lonely for any number of reasons, regardless of their age. Some people are lonely because they don't feel like they fit in, while others may become lonely after the death of a loved one. Other people might just suffer from an illness that doesn't allow them to see many people. When my boys were little, they were blessed to have 3 sets of grandparents and 3 sets of great-grandparents. Life was busy with two little ones, but we made it a point of visiting each of the great grandparents. Sometimes the boys would complain, and we would have to explain that not everyone's lives were busy like ours. Grandmas and Grandpas loved us and looked forward to us visiting. It made them happy. It doesn't take much to cheer up the lonely and make a difference. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency! Here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Cheer Up The Lonely Day: Let your friend or family member know that you are thinking about them. Send them a message, call them on the phone, or go for a visit. We need physical contact, but giving a hug may not be appropriate at this time. Did you know that giving 5 people a hug every day can lower your own stress level by 25%. Look for other ways to get connected. Ask what they need. It's ok to ask. And if they are not sure, let them know that you are there when they need you. If you like today's wellness tips, let me know. Can a quick political win keep the public on side while the hard work happens behind the scenes? This week on Ex-Ministers' Questions, Ed Balls and George Osborne debate whether Labour's lack of early symbolic moves has cost them public goodwill - and whether a bit of political theatre can actually make or break a government. They also tackle questions from across the UK and the US: how can Kemi Badenoch rebuild morale in a bruised Conservative Party? What's the right way to pitch bold economic ideas in a divided world? And who really decides where government contracts go - ministers or mandarins?Plus: a look back at Keynes's legacy with HM Treasury's Mario Pisani, a tip of the hat to Mr Bates vs the Post Office, and Ed's run-in with a very enthusiastic listener at Harvard. And a reminder, we're doing our first Political Currency live show - we'll be taking to the stage on Thursday 5th June 2025 at SXSW London. This is Pastor Tom Arnould welcoming you to the Good News Radio Broadcast. In Romans 12:8, the Bible speaks of the ministry of exhortation. In the Greek, the word exhortation communicates the idea of one who stirs up and cheers up. In other New Testament translations, this word exhortation is translated encouragement.

Welcome to Season 5, Episode 9! Our returning guest is Sarah Myer, the amazing, award-winning comic book artist and writer who is probably best known for her critically acclaimed and recognized graphic memoir, Monstrous: A Transracial Adoption Story, published by First Second Books. However, they show their skills on so many other titles as well, including as the main artist on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures, colorist on TMNT vs Street Fighter, as well as a variant cover artist on TMNT Usagi Yojimbo: WhereWhen issues. In this episode, we focus on one of Sarah's passion projects, Cheer Up, Michael! This is their independent webcomic that they write and illustrate. Cheer Up, Michael! is a story that explores the idea of “What happens AFTER your dreams come true? It follows Michael Theodore Mouse (stage name: "Mickey") who feels lost. A huge star for decades, he's now the burnt out CEO of a massive company, and he longs for the happier days of his youth. In Part 1, we discuss the origin of Cheer Up, Michael!, real-life experiences that have impacted the story, the balancing act of writing characters, and strategies for writing characters who have both affection and annoyance for the main character. Check out Cheer Up, Michael!, we highly recommend it (plus, it's free)! To hear more about Sarah's career, then please also listen to S04E24. This sermon might be read as a follow-up to that on “The Dromedaries.” If the former sermon is intended to help us find our proper place, the purpose of this “is for every man to have a good spirit in his present place, so as to occupy it worthily.” The preacher says he is less interested here to arrange the people where they might be and more to encourage the people where they are. Thus in broad strokes he addresses six classes of Christian workers: those who think they can do nothing; those who think they are laid aside; those who have only small talent; those who are under great difficulties; those who are not appreciated; and, those who are discouraged because they have so little success. Given that most Christian workers fall into one or more of those categories at any given time, and often over a period of time, there should be something here for every labouring saint. Degens Andy S and Brandon Bombay just back back from returning videotapes so they can talk about the sickly hilarious satirical classic, 'American Psycho.' Andy starts the episode off on a downer, and recalls the sad/unique circumstances that led him to reading the novel the movie is based on for the first time. Then the fellas try to impress the hookers they hired by showing off their film knowledge, and discuss this comedy that very much has horror roots. Original marketing may have been a little misleading in conveying the tone of the movie, but the lead star-turning performance from Christian Bale (who seems as if he was auditioning for a Bruce Wayne-type) was undeniable from the beginning. The film features dialogue with the typical existential disconnectedness found in many of Bret Easton Ellis's works depicting upper class malaise, but the way Bale's Patrick Bateman details his exhausting health and skincare routine, and then watches himself in the mirror during threeways helped the character become truly iconic. Much like a Friday night reservation at Dorsia, you won't want to miss this episode.

Do you have faith in Christ? In today's message, Pastor Bill says once the rapture happens, those who don't believe will believe false doctrine because they won't know the truth. If you don't believe in God, today's the day to trust Him. He loves you and wants a relationship with you so that you can live freely through His son. He loves you so much that He sent His son so you can have a chance at eternal life with Him. Trusting in God is far better than trusting in things of this world. Trust in Him today!

With the way the internet is made, anyone can say anything, and people will start believing it. In today's message, Pastor Bill says that we must always check and make sure what people are saying about scripture is from the Bible. It doesn't matter what they're saying as long as it's full of truth. When you hear someone preaching, double-check it with the word of God. You must make sure you're not listening to a false teacher but rather someone who's in the word daily and loves the Lord wholly.
