(00:59:56) They also spend time trying to understand why the construct of race still exists in society and how we can all work to move on from it while still acknowledging its presence. (01:31:26) Lastly, they share their frustration with the perceived outsourcing of critical thinking and leadership that continues to occur throughout the world. (00:03:52)Oh, and there's a quick update to the Peacemaker review tucked in at the beginning, too! As always, be sure to visit https://chrisandandreshow.com for more content!
Andre and special guest, Christian Sinclair, argue about the merit in saying things like, "I don't like Kanye." This turns into a larger discussion about society's tendency to build people up into heroes, only to cast them down when they inevitably prove to be flawed. Is there any value in criticizing celebrities, musicians, and pop culture icons for their behavior? Or are we better off focussing our efforts elsewhere? It's GeriPal's 200th episode. Yup, we started the podcast in 2016 and over the years we have grown from basically podcasting for Alex's mom to now getting over 25,000 plays per month. So to celebrate our 200th, and given that the last two years kinda sucked in a lot of ways, we are going to pivot to appreciative inquiry. We have invited leaders in geriatrics and palliative care to quickly share: One thing that you are grateful for in Geriatrics and Palliative Care (other than GeriPal!) One thing you are hopeful for in 2022 The guests we had were an awesome group that included Rachelle Bernacki (@rbernack), Kim Curseen (@Curseen), William Dale (@WilliamDale_MD), Helen Fernandez (@hfernandez01), Lynn Flint (@lynnmomdoc), Anne Kelly, Allison Kestenbaum (@ARKestenbaum), Christopher Langston (@calangst), Nancy Lundebjerg (@nlundebjerg), Mary Lynn McPherson (@mlmcpherson), Sean Morrison, Christine Ritchie (@RitchieCS), Christian Sinclair (@ctsinclair), Wendy-Jo Toyama(@WJSvetanoff), James Tulsky (@jatulsky), and Haider Warraich (@haiderwarraich). We also invite you to join us in this discussion. Go to either our Twitter account or youtube channel and share your answers to these two questions. Eric

Accurate diagnosis and prognosis are crucial in determining a patient’s plan of care. Many look at a prognosis as an “event” – a moment in time when a prediction about a patient’s illness trajectory is made – when it’s really an ongoing process that typically changes over time.Especially because of these changing dynamics, how can clinicians be more accurate about prognoses? Christian Sinclair, MD, AAHPM, provides intriguing information and considerations about the impact of prognoses – particularly on hospice and palliative care – and offers suggestions on improving prognoses going forward. In this conversation with host Stan Massey of Transcend, Dr. Sinclair discusses some of the challenging factors that go into making a highly accurate prognosis. He also talks about the need for unified research and prediction technology present in other businesses to be applied in improving the accuracy of clinical prognoses. In addition, the discussion explores the role of big data in the future of prognoses, along with the importance for clinicians to apply more tangible metrics to their observations.Dr. Sinclair is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at University of Kansas Medical Center. He is the organizer of a popular weekly TweetChat on hospice and palliative care (#hpm), as well as editor-in-chief of Pallimed, a widely read hospice and palliative medicine blog. His deep expertise and passion for hospice and palliative medicine makes listening to this episode time well invested.

#31. January 21, 2020. Christian Sinclair is the leader, or Onekanew in Cree (an alternative name for 'chief), of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation located in The Pas, Manitoba, a community of 6.200 people located 6 hours north of Winnipeg. I met Christian at the first Indigenomics conference in Vancouver in May 2019. He purchased a copy of my book and called me 2 days later noting that my vision for an economy of well-being was in line with his own vision for his Opaskwayak Nation. Christian is a former Canadian military snipper and understands the art of military strategy. He is leading his Nation on a bold journey towards an economy of well-being, following in the recent footsteps of New Zealand, Scotland, Iceland and recently Finland. Christian and I spoke January 14, 2020 in his office about his vision for developed what would be Canada's first community (and First Nation) to adopt a working model of an economy of well-being. ** My apologies for the low audio volume on my end of the interview. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mark-anielski/message

For this weeks podcast, we talk all about prognostication with Christian Sinclair. Christian is a palliative care physician at University of Kansas Medical Center, past president of AAHPM, recent AAHPM "Visionary" awardee, and Pallimed social media guru. We go over a lot of topics at the heart of prognostication in hospice and palliative care including: - The importance that prognostication plays in daily practice, especially in goals of care discussions - Helpful tools and skills to estimate prognosis - How prognosis changes the way we think about prescribing opioids - How to think about prognosis when it comes to hospice eligibility and why it may be that one of the most important tools used for prognostication in the hospice setting, the hospice eligibility guidelines, were last updated over two decades ago. So we have a ton to talk about and we would love for you to continue this discussion in the comment section of this blog, on Facebook or on twitter.

Today, we're diving deeper into spiritual paradigm shifts as I talk to spiritual teacher and coach, Christian Sinclair. How do we build a deeper relationship with God? How do we cultivate more faith and trust? How do we practice the very vulnerable act of surrender? How do we find our truth and let it guide our lives? How do we cope when we manifest the opposite of what we wanted? These are just a few questions we touch on in today's episode and each of these are heavy hitters. If you're new to spiritual growth or development, I know you'll identify with a lot of the roadblocks we talk about today that prevent us from doing the above. Christian and I dive into how we've navigated these areas in the past and continue to navigate them in the present. After all, spiritual growth is never a one and done process. Our relationship with God can always be deeper, our faith and trust can always be stronger, our ability to surrender can always be fiercer, and choosing to remind ourselves of our truth when fear rears its ugly head is as much of a spiritual practice as anything I've ever known. But the reason we do all of these things is to cope more positively, and with mastery, when life doesn't turn out how we expect or how we thought it should. We lay some major groundwork for using spirituality to navigate the messy middle we often find ourselves in. I can't wait to dig in with all of you! Come to Mexico City with me August 3 - 8 to refurbish a primary school, workshop and play in the jungle! Put down your deposit HERE. (watch THIS video for more!) Christian created a Spiritual Archetype quiz that totally blew my mind with its accuracy. Find out your own archetype HERE. She was given a beautiful opportunity to see what really works for her in spirituality and what doesn't because her mother ran one of the biggest spiritual conferences and her father was a Course in Miracles teacher. The root of her business is helping people find the core of their problems and working on that, instead of simply "unblocking" limiting beliefs and others blocks Example: One thing she sees a lot of is people who think their entire life is in shambles because of their chakras being unaligned, and it's always so much deeper than that! If you think God hates you, no amount of "chakra alignment" is going to help you change your life Christian grew up around very strict Catholics so she does relate to feeling inferior, and even held the belief that God didn't love her for who she really was God created you exactly how you are, from your head to your belly to your heart. You are NOT an accident! Spiritual bullying: when somebody attacks a person or group in the name of being a "light-worker" If your "spirituality" is messing up your life, it's actually ego. Example: If you're a mean person and people say you're mean because you're just really religious- well, that doesn't make it okay! Finding out how much of your personality you want to portray in your business and how much you want to stick to doing God's work. How Christian started to take responsibility for attracting the type of partner she DID NOT want (and ended up not dating for 4 years in her 20s) How she met her husband accidentally and ended up getting married 3 weeks later (you're going to love this story) Some insight into her Spiritual Archetypes quiz and what that creation process looked like Must-read book: Lessons in Truth Connect with Christian: Website Facebook Twitter Instagram [Tweet "Learn all about spiritual bullying, conscious dating and archetype quizzes in today's #MBMPodcast "] {COACHING} Ready to break limiting beliefs + Take your self-worth to the next level? What happens when we exit this human experience? How do we stop our ego and move back to true intuition? How do we have a conversation with our soul? SOUL FUELED QUOTES: “When we're resting completely into God or Spirit, there is no fear. It's not a fear-based being. That's a human problem.” “When we tap into that abundance of God, it shows up in our finances, in our health, and all other things.” “We're not separate and all of our fear comes from that. Our coming home is the realization that we aren't separate at all.” “That intuition is God speaking through you.
