Spring time is here B-oo's Crew!!! This is the last stop for our spring kick-off of haunted islands. Just 1.5 nautical miles off the coast of Dubrovnik, Croatia sits two tiny islands...one is the home of a 1944 massacre, the other to a Benedictine curse. In 2009, about 64 years later, the bodies of 53 people were discovered on the island. Since then, locals have claimed the island is haunted, and the spirits are out for revenge! So, whats the tie between these two beautiful islands...listen for yourself and find out! Grab yourself a tropical drink, put on your shades, hop on the boat and get ready to visit the forbidden islands of Daksa and Lokrum! Do you have a story you'd like read or played on the show? We start our journey onto the Daksa Island with a jaunt back to the most infamous of wars, World War II. From there, things only get darker and darker. And that's just the history of this location. Daksa Island, just off the coast of Croatia, has so much taboo-ness to it, people are still afraid to go to it, even to this day.Listen to Lisa tell us all about what created these scary stories and why people won't bring you there, unless you have a lot of money. Listen as Jake hits us with a story of the hand that cam from underground. And listen to Davis give us another cryptid, this time for the Cleveland Guardians. This episode may be about a cursed island, but that doesn't mean that you can't view it from afar. Just like we did. So, sidle up on the shore, get yourself a nice drink, and listen to the latest episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast. TPPP 89: Daksa Island.Support the show

It's a scream! We start our spine-tinglingly special Halloween episode with a warning that Andrea plays a prank on Heidi during our Where in the World game and Heidi (literally) jumps out of her chair. If you don't like screams fast-forward but it is very, very funny.  Then we make our way to Whitby - the isolated harbour town on England's north east coast that was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, Dracula. While the ruins of the 7th century Whitby Abbey loom large over the town, Whitby is also famous for fish & chips; a Captain Cook museum; a fascinating Victorian library and ghoulish ghost and vampire walking tours. Andrea gives the low down on her recent trip there her stay at the fabulously kitsch and antique-filled La Rosa hotel. We round off the episode with the Top 5 Lesser Known Haunted Places Around the World according to Lonely Planet. A magnetic hill though - really guys? Here's the full list - Magnetic Hill, Moldova; Daksa island, Croatia; Ross Castle, Co. Meath, Ireland; LaLaurie Mansion, New Orleans and Fort Garry, Winnipeg. SUBSCRIBE to our podcast - it would absolutely make our day! And please do follow us here: Instagram Twitter Facebook Thanks, as always, to our good friends from the band 3D Shark, who provide our theme tune. If we plug them enough, we hope that one day they'll get into the charts and buy us a pint. Thanks for listening!  Â

The island of Daksa, Croatia was first inhabited in 1281 when a Franciscan monastery was built on it called Saint Sabina. The monks were the island's sole inhabitants and brought in spiritual leaders from all over Europe. For over 500 years, Daksa was seen as a sacred and holy place. Until a mass execution in 1944 that left the island filled with unburied bodies for decades. If anyone does ever wishes to visit Daksa Island today, good luck finding a boat to take you there. The spirits and curse that remain in the shade of the overgrown pines are always waiting for the next brave person to stay a while.Visit us online at: The Hidden Staircase
