I wish Ryan Looper was my real dad, but he's not but sometimes he comes on the podcast. He came on to talk about Piedmont via the lens of Connor Roy. The boys are joined by Justine from Kalche wines to discuss feet stuff, types of kisses and of course Piedmont wine via the lens of Roman Roy. This is officially a silly episode, but holy shit do the wines rule. Bizarre alt Piedmont shit is, unsurprisingly, our jam. Another thing that is our jam, of course, is Kalche wine, a totally rad wine cooperative in Vermont. You should probably get a bunch of their wine. ////LIST////Andrea Scovero, Vino Bianco Sauvignon, ‘il Campesino,'' NV//La Vecchia Posta, Poggio dello Scagno, ‘Derthona,' 2016 //Jean-yves Peron, Grignolino, ‘I Vicini,' 2018 //Cascina val Liberata, Slarina, ‘Ceneria,' 2019//Kalche wine cooperative, ‘Tucker cider,' 2021////Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/Disgorgeous)
The boys are joined by Kilolo Strobert, the owner of Fermented Grapes in Brooklyn New York, to discuss how Piedmont can be seen through the lens of Shiv Roy. It's 3 episodes in and I gotta be honest this concept is really working for me, I think Kevin is a genius. We got great new mics too, so uh, thanks Patreons sorry we still have terrible voices. Keara Driscoll returns with dreamy newcomer Patrick Kattner to wreak havock in Duck's v cute home. I think we talked about Kendall Roy and the concept of 'new piedmont,' but we drank like 4 bottles of 15% alcohol wine so basically derangement happened. I am not apologizing we did nothing wrong. Patrick is amazing and Keara is unknowable and they both brought the heat. Please support their future endeavors which are secret, sorry, keep refreshing their linkedin profiles until the truth reveals itself. Get ready for an insane conversation about the vibes in Piedmont and like the general outlines of the new season. In our pilot episode of Decanted Discussions, we introduce our hosts Chef RoyalTee & Chef Gio and dive right into some great conversation. On the table, we served up a deluxe Surf & Turf spread featuring a Tomahawk Steak from Nick's Meat Depot, Lump Crab Stuffed Lobster, Pan Seared Fingerling Potatoes, & a fresh Herb Salad w/ Lemon Goat Cheese & Blood Orange Vin. paired with Jam Jar Sweet White & Sweet Red Wines. We talk about our start in the industry, what brought us together as chef partners, and how the hospitality industry has been affected by the global pandemic. Our live audience chimed into the conversation, somehow swayed the conversation to ass eating on the half shell & had Chef Gio contemplating an Only Fans venture of his own. Tune in with us every thirsty thursday for real talk, great food, and good wine. In this episode, Devi chats with Dave Adams and Sandi Everingham of the Decanted podcast. Life partners, creative professionals and co-hosts of Dacanted, Dave Adams and Sandi Everingham have a passion for wine adventure, especially in their home state of Washington. The state is the second largest producer of wine in the United States with close to 1000 wineries and a terroir that one winemaker dubbed, “a Disneyland for grape growing.” It's a tough job to try them all, but they are willing to do the grueling work. Dave and Sandi have created an entertaining and educational hybrid show that features interviews with notable winemakers in a narrative storytelling style. Listeners will also learn from wine educators, hear about industry events and wine travel destinations. They recently became students of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) so while they learn, you will too. Dave is in the UX biz for a gigantic Borg machine, former basement beer brewer, old-timey impressionist and enjoys hearing the sound of his own voice. Sandi herds artistic cats in the game industry, an artist and professional coach. Unsurprisingly, her favorite toy as a child was a tape recorder. Episode Summary: This week on the FadCast, swirl, sip and spit talking the perception of wine in tv and film with Julien Fayard from the vino-centric documentary "Decanted." Fayard, Spectrum's 2016 Winemaker of the Year, helps us become cinematic sommeliers as we discuss which films about wine got it right, and which films got it ALL wrong. From "Sideways" to "A Good Year" we test our palates with a slew videographic varietals. Fayard also helps us assign a specific wine flavor to a few celebrities from actress Marion Cotillard, to songbird Adele to orange man and current U.S. President Donald Trump. Ryan and I also test our taste with a scene read from the feature film "Sideways." Before that, we briefly make our peace talking THE BEST OF BILL PAXTON, RIP 1955 – 2017 and news that KEANU REEVES PLAYS A NASCAR DRIVER WITH A BIG EGO IN ‘RALLY CAR’ for our SPEED ROUND! Episode Breakdown: Pooya: You are listening to FilmFad.com’s FadCast Episode 130. Ryan: With our special guest, winemaker, Julien Fayard. Pooya: You’ll hear all that and more so let’s get started! This week's episode is unique. We had the privilege of viewing the film Decanted A Winemaker's Journey a few weeks ago which is being shown at this year's Napa Film Festival. This episode features an interview with Nick Kovacic, director of the film and Steve Reynolds, winemaker at Italics winery.
