It was a CRAZY weekend of fights that thankfully saved the best for last as "The Monster" Naoya Inoue had to get off the canvas himself to rally and score a Sunday night KO. We are ready to go over his win and the upset of Ryan Garcia and a lackluster Canelo performance in Saudi Arabia on the latest "Fight Freaks Unite Recap podcast!Host T.J. Rives returns with insider Dan Rafael to go over it all. They start with Inoue's dramatics in Las Vegas defeating little known Ramon Cardenas to retain the four undisputed 122 lb. belts. WOW. What a fight and it saved a lackluster weekend. Dan and T.J. have thoughts on that and the Rafael Espinoza title win at featherweight in the co-feature.Then, they back up to recap Friday's Ring / Times Square DAZN PPVRolando Romero upsets Ryan Garcia by decision and wins his biggest fight to date. What happened to Garcia? And while Devin Haney won in 12 over Jose Ramirez, he looked shaky too. Now, he's still supposed to fight Garcia in a arematch next??Meantime, Teofimo Lopez looked solid and beat Arnold Barboza, to keep his lineal/WBO 140 lb titleThen to Saturday's Riyadh Season DAZN PPV in Saudi Arabia, as Canelo Alvarez beat William Scull and again, becomes undisputed at 168 lb. But, this was far from a great performance with Scull running all fight long. Concerns from Dan on Canelo? The guys discuss Canelo-Crawford announced for Sept.12 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. And go over the undercard with Badou Jack and Jaime Munguia winning. However a disgusting draw for heavyweight Efe Ajagba in a fight he clearly won with Martin Bakole. We have News:Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia says he will have elbow surgery and will be sidelined 6-8 weeks. Fury fight now significantly delayed. And, as expected, the WBO stripped Sebastian Fundora of its junior middleweight world title on Thursday for failing to comply with its order of a mandatory defense against Xander Zayas. What's next for Zayas?Nostalgia May 5, 2007 – 18 years ago on Monday – Mayweather W12 Oscar biggest money fight in history to that point. Rafael ringside. We have taped it. There are big plans for Thurman after this, but does he have anything left after another long layoff? Then, on Thursday it's the Teiken Promotions main event in Tokyo: with Kenshiro Teraji taking on Seigo Yuri Akui for the WBC/WBA flyweight unification. This should be an all action battle with Teraji being a huge fan favorite, as well. Then, hear from Omari Jones, who turns pro with Matchroom Boxing on DAZN on March 15 card in his hometown of Orlando, Florida, This is on the Ammo Williams-Patrice Volny main event with Edgard Berlanaga in the co-feature Then, some news:The NYSAC on Friday declined to overturn Tank Davis-Lamont Roach result and the draw will stand. The guys have takes. Also, Canelo Alvarez and the unknown William Scull met the media in NY on Thursday for the kickoff presser of the May bout that Canelo could sleep walk through. And, also, heavyweights Efe Ajagba and Martin Bakole will fight on the May 3rd on the Canelo-Scull undercard. The bout just wont be an IBF eliminator like it was supposed to be when it was on May 2 on the Times Square card. We wrap with Nostalgia:March 8, 1971 – 54 years ago on Saturday – Smokin' Joe Frazier defeats the Greatest Muhammad Ali at famed Madison Square Garden. Arguably, it's the biggest fight in boxing history. There's lots to go over.March 9, 2013 — 12 years ago Sunday – Bernard Hopkins Hopkins outpointed Tavoris Cloud to win the IBF light heavyweight world title to, at 48, become the oldest fighter in boxing history to win a world title. That broke the record he set at age 46 with his historic light heavyweight title victory over Jean Pascal. We reminisce.

It was a less than thrilling night for heavyweight Jared Anderson's main event win for Top Rank Boxing in Texas, there was a much more entertaining British junior lightweight main event for Matchroom Boxing and we're ready to discuss those fights and more on the "Fight Freaks Unite Recap Podcast."Host T.J. Rives returns with insider Dan Rafael of his Fight Freaks Unite Substack and BigFightWeekend.com to go over it all. They talk the Top Rank show including the reasons the Anderson fight was a dull snoozefest. They also disucss the much more entertaining Efe Ajagba heavyweight battle with Guido Vianello in the co-feature. And, T.J. asks again what's wrong wtih having Anderson fight Ajagba, soon? Then, they talk the Zelfa Barret TKO win over a valiant Jordan Gill to close the Matchroom show in Manchester, England. Is Barreett a legit player at 130 lb. for a title shot? How tough was Gill when many others would have quit in the 10th on the body shot knockdowns? The guys go over it all. There's news on former flyweight champ, England's Sunny Edwards and his next bout coming this summer. And, what about the Golden Boy undercard coming together for April 27th in Fresno, CA for the Ramirez/Barthelemy main event? Finally, the guys turn to some nostalgi, including a Bernard Hopkins on a middleweight title anniversary, and of course, we have to talk Hagler-Hearns for the near 40th anniversary of that one! It's all on the "Fight Freaks Unite Recap Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple, Spreaker, Spotify, etc.!

There's a ProBoxTV card on April 10th, not much doing but a bit worth talking about. There's an Eye of the Tiger card as well, but not a whole lot doing there either. Unfortunately, same with the Matchroom card in Liverpool. The main event is fun, at least. The jewel of April 13th is the Top Rank card in Texas that's headlined by Jared Anderson. His opponent is lackluster, but the card overall has a lot of promise: Efe Ajagba can bring the heat, if you're not watching Abdullah Mason you're doing it wrong, and some others too.

In this epsiode, Lukie and Dakota debate the outcome and 'low blow' that occurred during Oleksandr Usyk's win over Daniel Dubois. Despite a ninth-round knockout of Dubois, Usyk was extensively critiqued as he went down from a low blow in round five that some think was fair. We debate this and talk about the broadcast's impact on these things. Also, Anthony Yigit went to the internet to say he didn't get adequate medical career, and there were no prelims for this fight card. Top Rank's Tulsa card saw Jared Anderson return to form with a KO. What did we learn, if anything? Efe Ajagba might be the most underrated fighter in the sport as he got a DQ win over Zhan Kossobutskiy.Other notable undercard results, Abdullah Mason didn't get a stoppage, Nico Ali Walsh lost, and the card had a hum-dinger as Charly Suarez opened the card in an entertaining fashion against Yohan Vasquez. Also, Oscar Collazo, a mini-flyweight world champion signed to Golden Boy Promotions won, and looks to be a pillar of the company's future. Two upsets on Overtime Boxing as Vladimir Hernandez outworked Lorenzo Simpson, and Czarina McCoy lost a decision based on her opponent getting a knockdown that should've been ruled a slip. This Week.We have one card, and it takes place on ESPN+ in the U.S., and something else in the U.K.The big fight is Liam Smith versus Chris Eubank Jr. in a rematchAlso on the card, Adam Azim, a junior welterweight, Frazer Clarke vs. Dave Allen Mikaela Mayer vs. Silvia Bortot in Mayer's debut at 140 lbs., and Lauren Price.News.
