Are we easy to forgive, or is there a dark spirit still festering in our hearts? In this episode, we talk about the people who've wronged us, the grudges we swear we've moved on from, and the arguments we keep winning in the shower. Is there a “correct” way to react when someone hurts you? And when does being understanding turn into being dumb? It's all here: the resentment, the rage, and the petty little thoughts we usually keep to ourselves.#youmightwannasitdownforthispodcast Follow The Takeaway Table!https://www.instagram.com/thetakeawaytable/ Join our Community Discord Server!https://discord.gg/thetakeawaytableFollow The Takeaway Table!https://www.instagram.com/thetakeawaytable/ Check out our hosts on Instagram!MingH: https://instagram.com/dmingthingMingY: https://instagram.com/mingasaur

Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Read more about Project23 and partner with us as we teach every verse of the Bible on video. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 6:7-8. Most people believe strength looks like fighting back, striking first, or refusing to let anyone take advantage of them. Paul flips that entire worldview in two sentences. To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers! — 1 Corinthians 6:7–8 Paul doesn't merely say lawsuits are messy or unfortunate. He says they reveal defeat—a spiritual collapse long before a judge renders a verdict. Why? Because believers were willing to destroy each other to protect their pride, their possessions, their image, or their "rights." So Paul asks the question no one wants to ask: "Why not rather suffer wrong?" This cuts against everything the world teaches—yet it matches everything Jesus modeled. Strength in the Kingdom is not the ability to crush someone. It's the ability to be mistreated without becoming bitter. It's the willingness to take the hit without hitting back. It's the courage to absorb injustice—when necessary—for the sake of love, unity, and witness. This isn't weakness. It's Christlike power. It's the strength that made Jesus stay silent before His accusers. It's the strength that kept Him from calling legions of angels. It's the strength that absorbed the cross instead of avoiding it. The Corinthians thought they were strong by standing up for themselves. But in doing so, they didn't just protect themselves—they wronged and defrauded their own brothers. Paul is asking them—and us—to consider a harder path: Sometimes the strongest thing a Christian can do is suffer well. Because suffering wrong for the sake of righteousness is never defeat. In the Kingdom, it's victory. And sometimes choosing to lose makes room for Christ to win through you. Suffer well. Trust Christ with the outcome. DO THIS: Choose one place where you're tempted to fight for your "rights." Ask God if surrender—not retaliation—is the better witness. ASK THIS: Why does suffering wrong feel so impossible in the moment? Where am I choosing pride over peace? How might Christ be calling me to a harder, stronger path? PRAY THIS: Father, give me the strength to suffer well. Keep my heart soft when I'm wronged, and make me more like Jesus—strong, humble, and willing to trust You with every outcome. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Lead Me to the Cross"

Join us for live worship as we talk about one of the most unnatural, yet supernatural, things you can do...forgive someone that has wronged you.
Being wronged cuts deeply—especially when the hurt comes from someone you trusted or stood alongside in faith. This devotional speaks honestly to that pain, sharing the emotional weight of betrayal, disappointment, and offense that can surface when others turn away from truth or cause harm through their actions. In moments like these, it’s tempting to respond with exposure, retaliation, or harsh words, believing that justice requires us to fight back. But Scripture calls us to a different response—one that doesn’t ignore truth, yet refuses to be ruled by bitterness. Walking by the Spirit means actively resisting the urges of the flesh, even when our emotions feel justified. God doesn’t leave us guessing about how to respond; His Word provides clarity and direction when feelings are intense and wounds are fresh. Love, grace, and mercy are not passive responses—they are intentional, disciplined choices that reflect Christ. The devotional highlights a powerful truth from 1 Peter: love covers a multitude of sins. This doesn’t mean overlooking error or avoiding necessary correction. It means that once truth has been spoken, we entrust the outcome to God. Sometimes loving someone well looks like stepping back, guarding your heart, and choosing not to rehearse offense or collect evidence to “win” a battle that God never asked you to fight. Forgiveness and grace are not signs of weakness—they are evidence of spiritual maturity. When we release others into God’s hands, we free our hearts from bitterness and make room for peace. This prayer invites us to remember that every person is made in God’s image and that the same mercy we’ve received is meant to flow outward—even toward those who have hurt us the most. Main Takeaways Being wronged can stir strong emotions, but Scripture helps guide our response. Walking by the Spirit means resisting retaliation and choosing love over bitterness. Love does not ignore truth, but it releases the need for personal vindication. God’s Word provides clarity when emotions feel overwhelming. Extending grace protects your heart and reflects Christ’s character. Today’s Bible Verse “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” - 1 Peter 4:8, ESV Your Daily Prayer Here is a brief excerpt from today’s prayer: “Help me extend grace to those who have wronged me… Help me release that situation to You, Lord.” You can listen to the full prayer here or read the devotional at the links below. The Prophets (a.s) (S15) The Messenger ﷺ would always forgive those who wronged him. The tribe of Muhaarib caused great harm to the Messenger ﷺ in the early days. When the tribe of Muhaarib came to him ﷺ in the year of delegations, the Messenger ﷺ did not mention any of their harm once! They accepted Islam and the Messenger ﷺ gave them all gifts. One man from their tribe called Huzayma Ibn Sawa رضي الله عنه didn't have a beard. The Messenger ﷺ rubbed Huzayma's رضي الله عنه face and a beard appeared! Was there a lizard companion of the Messenger? ﷺ A Bedouin says to the Messenger ﷺ: “I will not believe until this lizard believes!”. The Messenger ﷺ speaks to the lizard and it says: “I am here, at your service”. The lizard says: “You are the Messenger of The Lord of the worlds and the last of the Prophets [a.s]”.

Send us a textEpisode SummaryPsalm 7 is a powerful guide for those who have been slandered, falsely accused, or deeply wounded by injustice. In this episode of Counseling Through the Psalms, James Long, Jr. helps us explore how David moves from protest to praise—not by denying the pain of injustice, but by entrusting it to God's perfect justice. When your name is attacked or your heart is weary, this psalm shows you how to search your conscience, cry out for truth, and rest in the righteousness of God. It is a psalm for those who need both refuge and reassurance in a world where justice often feels delayed or denied.Key TakeawaysGod is both the righteous judge and a personal refuge for the wounded.Prayer can be a protest—not against God, but to Him.True vindication starts with humility, not self-defense.God's patience toward evildoers does not equal indifference. We can move from protest to praise when we trust God's justice more than our own vindication.Scripture FocusPsalm 7:1–17Deuteronomy 32:4Psalm 18:2Romans 2:4–6Proverbs 10:9Reflect and RespondHave you ever been falsely accused or misrepresented?
