Send us a textThe New York Giants' offseason plans might be shifting in a surprising direction. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are starting to look elsewhere with their No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. With growing speculation that they have their sights set on an elite non-QB prospect. Meanwhile, ESPN has floated the idea of the Giants trading down from No. 3. A proposed trade with the Carolina Panthers would send the No. 3 pick and a 2026 fifth-rounder to Carolina in exchange for the No. 8 pick, a second-round pick this year (No. 57), and a 2026 second-round pick. This trade scenario becomes even more interesting if Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are already off the board by the time the Giants pick, suggesting the team may prioritize adding multiple assets instead of taking a quarterback early. In roster news, the Giants have re-signed linebacker Ty Summers. At 6'1" and 241 pounds, the 29-year-old played in all 16 games last season, recording 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass deflection. His PFF grades were mixed, with a strong 78.3 run defense grade but weaker marks in coverage and pass rushing. Summers played 112 defensive snaps and was a key contributor on special teams with 272 snaps. Evan Neal's future along the Giants' offensive line remains uncertain, but GM Joe Schoen revealed that Neal is now open to the idea of moving to guard. This is a stark contrast from his strong stance in 2023 when he insisted he was an offensive tackle from birth. While Schoen did not commit to a positional switch, he emphasized that Neal is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. Another looming decision for the Giants revolves around play-calling duties. Head coach Brian Daboll has not yet determined whether he will continue calling plays in 2024. NY Post's Paul Schwartz reported that Daboll plans to evaluate the situation through spring and summer before making a final call. Co-owner John Mara previously questioned whether Daboll should relinquish play-calling duties, stating that while he wouldn't demand a change, it's a discussion that will continue. Ultimately, the choice remains in Daboll's hands, and it could have a major impact on the Giants' offensive performance next season. The Giants also have several former players currently competing in the UFL, which kicked off its season on Friday. The Arlington Renegades feature former Giants S Joe Powell and LB Tuzar Skipper. The Birmingham Stallions have multiple ex-Giants, including LB Tae Crowder and QB Case Cookus, while the D.C. Defenders boast former first-round CB Deandre Baker. Other familiar faces like Corn Elder, Deon Jackson, Quincy Roche, and Jashaun Corbin are also in the league, along with former Giants coaches like Mike Nolan and Marc Colombo. With the NFL Draft approaching, trade rumors swirling, and key roster decisions still to be made, the Giants are entering a pivotal stretch. Will they surprise everyone by passing on a quarterback at No. 3? Will Evan Neal shift to guard? And will Brian Daboll hold onto play-calling duties? Can Aaron Rodgers ever make a decision without drama? Regardless, we discuss the first three days of free agency and somewhat surprisingly, we give GM Joe Schoen a passing grade. Could the Giants be building a solid nucleus? One thing's for sure, the secondary, at least on paper, looks much improved. Enjoy. Send us a textThe latest episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates* dives into a shocking prediction for the Giants' 2025 season, as Pro Football Network (PFN) ran 1,000 simulations and didn't project a single Giants win. We break down their probabilities against each opponent and whether the team can overcome the odds. The conversation then shifts to the upcoming NFL Draft, where ESPN's Matt Miller made waves by stating that no quarterback in the 2025 class has a true first-round grade. Yet, despite this, top QB prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are still expected to go early. With the Giants on the hunt for a franchise quarterback, how does this impact their strategy? PFN's latest mock draft for the Giants is also discussed in detail, featuring a bold pick at No. 3 overall—Colorado's Travis Hunter, a dynamic two-way player with game-breaking ability. The Giants also address needs at tight end, quarterback, and offensive line, selecting playmakers like Bowling Green's Harold Fannin Jr., Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, and several late-round sleepers. Boomer Esiason adds his perspective on the Giants' potential pursuit of Matthew Stafford, questioning whether paying a 37-year-old QB upwards of $40 million per year is a smart move. Meanwhile, Giants co-owner John Mara and GM Joe Schoen have made it clear that finding a long-term quarterback remains the franchise's top priority. The episode also covers the firing of defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson and whether it was connected to Deonte Banks' struggles. NFL analyst Gennaro Felice gives Schoen credit for the Giants' 2024 draft class, especially the selection of Malik Nabers, who had an electric rookie season. Other key topics include speculation on kicker Graham Gano's future with the team, assistant GM Brandon Brown's job security, and Mara's reaction to banner planes flown by frustrated Giants fans calling for front-office changes. The 2024 New York Giants season is one that fans would love to forget—but can't. From front-office blunders to one of the worst records in franchise history, this year was a disaster from top to bottom. And, thanks to Hard Knocks, the embarrassment was put on full display for the world to see.Offseason Moves: Who Came and Who LeftThe writing was on the wall for this Giants team even before the season started. The front office made some controversial decisions that ended up shaping (or sinking) the year:Key Losses:Saquon Barkley (RB) – Signed with the Eagles on a 3-year, $37.75M deal. He then went on to put up 2,000+ rushing yards and help Philly win the Super Bowl. Let that sink in.Xavier McKinney (S) – Walked in free agency, signing with the Packers, weakening an already suspect secondary.Leonard Williams (DL) – Traded to the Seahawks in 2023, but his absence was still felt in 2024.Adoree' Jackson (CB) – The team moved on, leading to even bigger issues in coverage.Sterling Shepard (WR) – A longtime Giant, gone.Key Additions:Brian Burns (EDGE) – Acquired in a trade with the Panthers to bolster the pass rush.Malik Nabers (WR) – Drafted 6th overall, the rookie was one of the lone bright spots with 109 catches for 1,024 yards and 7 TDs.Devin Singletary (RB) – Signed in free agency to replace Barkley but was nowhere near as productive.Drew Lock (QB) – Brought in as a backup option for Daniel Jones.Isaiah McKenzie (WR) – A depth addition at wide receiver. The Saquon Barkley Fallout & ‘Hard Knocks' DisasterWe all knew losing Barkley was bad, but Hard Knocks made it 10x worse. The leaked phone call between GM Joe Schoen and Barkley—where Schoen basically told him to test the market—was a disaster for the franchise. Barkley later admitted that he didn't even know the call was recorded, and once he heard it, he knew his Giants days were over. Fans watched helplessly as Barkley thrived in Philly while the Giants collapsed.Season Recap: Rock BottomFinal Record: 3-14 – The worst in Giants history.Offense: 30th in total yards, 31st in points per game – Not much more needs to be said.Defense: 27th in rushing yards allowed per game (136.2 YPG) – Couldn't stop a nosebleed.Bright Spots (Yes, There Were a Few)Malik Nabers (WR) – The reason for hope, breaking the Giants' rookie receptions record.Tyrone Tracy (RB) – A surprise contributor with 839 rushing yards, 5 TDs.Dexter Lawrence (DL) – Still a force, leading the team with 9 sacks.Looking Ahead: Rebuilding from Rock BottomThe New York Giants head into the 2025 NFL offseason with a 3-14 record, the third overall pick in the draft, and a desperate need to turn things around. With Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen returning, all eyes are on how they'll reshape the roster after a disastrous season.2025 NFL Draft StrategyHolding the No. 3 overall pick, the Giants have several directions they could go. While the quarterback position remains a huge question mark, the Giants must also address offensive line struggles, a depleted secondary, and a lack of depth at wide receiver. Can they make the right moves, or will this franchise remain stuck in a cycle of mediocrity? We're breaking it all down on ‘We Stomped You Out'—don't miss it!

Send us a textIn this episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob tackle the latest controversies and developments surrounding the Giants and their upcoming match against the Atlanta Falcons. The show opens with a fiery discussion about the alleged attempt by the New York Giants to control media narratives. Talkin' Giants hosts Bobby Skinner and Justin Penik revealed they received complaints from the organization after criticizing GM Joe Schoen and were threatened with reduced access if they continued. Drew and Rob stand in solidarity with the duo, emphasizing the importance of media freedom in covering the team. Attention then shifts to the Falcons' quarterback situation, as head coach Raheem Morris announces Michael Penix Jr. will start against the Giants. After a rocky stretch for Kirk Cousins, who has struggled with turnovers and consistency, the Falcons have decided to see what their rookie QB can deliver. With Atlanta clinging to slim playoff hopes, this decision adds intrigue to Sunday's matchup. Meanwhile, the Giants will likely start Drew Lock, with Tommy DeVito potentially cleared as the backup after missing time due to concussion protocol. The conversation moves to draft speculation, including Deion Sanders' bold claim about his son Shedeur becoming the No. 1 overall pick and his certainty that the Giants won't part with that pick. The hosts discuss whether Shedeur, Cam Ward, or Travis Hunter could fit into the Giants' plans. Hunter's Heisman-winning season has sparked debates about his versatility as both a wide receiver and cornerback, areas of need for the Giants. Could his dynamic skill set make him a top choice for New York? In a “what could have been” moment, Drew and Rob analyze Ian O'Connor's report that the Giants considered Adam Peters for GM and nearly hired Jim Harbaugh as head coach. With Peters and Harbaugh leading other teams to success, the discussion highlights how those choices might have changed the team's trajectory. Finally, the episode previews the Thursday Night Football clash between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, offering insights into the AFC West showdown. As always, Drew and Rob deliver a compelling mix of analysis, news, and speculation, ensuring Giants fans are informed and entertained ahead of another pivotal week in the NFL season.#giants #nygiants #nflSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Send us a textIn this intense segment from "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," hosts Drew and Rob dive deep into recent bold claims made by Rich Eisen and Adam Schefter on the state of the New York Giants, featuring insights from other NFL insiders on Brian Daboll, Daniel Jones, and the future of the Giants organization. Rich Eisen brings a passionate perspective on Brian Daboll's play-calling, highlighting how Daboll's schemes are putting players in positions to succeed — players are getting open, but Daniel Jones isn't delivering. Eisen points to moments like the missed connection with Malik Nabers on a key third down, noting that Daboll's frustration was visible on the field. Eisen underscores that Daboll's skill as a play-caller and his background under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick make him the kind of head coach New York needs, yet the disconnect with Jones is clear. Adam Schefter's view brings a dramatic twist, suggesting the Giants might be done with Jones altogether. According to Schefter, Daboll's recent tone has shifted, no longer showing unwavering support for Jones as the starter. Schefter speculates that this change, coupled with the high injury risk associated with Jones' contract, could signal the end of Jones' time in New York. As the Giants look to the future, Schefter's statements amplify the uncertainty surrounding Jones, with the injury guarantee looming large over the organization's decisions. Meanwhile, former Giants defensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Chris Canty doesn't mince words, urging the Giants to consider a complete rebuild. Canty argues that with Daboll and GM Joe Schoen facing increased scrutiny, it might be time for the Giants to hold the leadership accountable. He contends that if the Giants can't replicate the success they found last season with Jones, then it's not only Jones but the front office and coaching staff that need to answer for the disappointing performance.Drew and Rob also discuss potential upgrades on the offensive line, with Tyre Phillips ready to return from injury and bolster the Giants' tackle position. Insider Jordan Schultz reports that Phillips is in top shape and drawing interest across the league. Given the Giants' current struggles on the line, particularly with injuries to Andrew Thomas and the performance issues from Evan Neal, Phillips could bring stability, but the Giants may need to act fast if he's courted by other teams. This intense segment captures the friction within the Giants organization and the challenging decisions ahead. With new updates, rumors, and expert takes, Drew and Rob provide fans with a comprehensive look at the drama unfolding in the Giants' camp and the pivotal moments that may define the season.#giants #nygiants #giants100Support the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast.
