In this episode we discuss the phenomenal singer-songwriter, actress, and activist that is Dolly Parton. We consider some of the ways in which the media and audiences have perceived her over the years, especially as it relates to her socio-economic background and physical appearance. Then we look deeper into the things she has done, the reasons she has done them, and what she has done for the world in the name of kindness and for the greater good. Finally, we look at the ways in which she educates herself and those around her by taking accountability and making changes whenever she learns from her mistakes.   Follow the podcast: Twitter: @BigRepPod Instagram: @BigReputationsPod   Become a Patreon supporter: patreon.com/bigreputationspod   Merch: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/86669619 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hosts: Kimberly Kunkle and Rebecca L. It may have been CU's last best hope for a victory last weekend, but the Buffs fell at home to Arizona State, 42-34. I am joined for this podcast by Brad Geiger and Neil Langland, and we will start with a recap of the loss to Arizona State, including the failings of the defense to get off the field, which were only slightly offset by CU's best offensive output of the season, and some special plays by the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week and the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week, Jordyn Tyson.Next, before diving into our “T.I.P.S.” for the game against No. 8 Oregon, we will debate the pros and cons of sitting freshman quarterback Owen McCown. McCown has played in four games this season, and, if he sits out the last four, will preserve his redshirt, and still have four years of eligibility remaining. If he's healthy, should he play? There is also a discussion of the creation of the Buffs4Life NIL Collective. CU fans have been clamoring for the past 16 months for a Collective, a pool of dollars to lure high school recruits and transfers to play at CU, and now one exists. Will this Collective be the light at the end of CU's long dark tunnel? So ... Can the Buffs find a way to beat the 30-point spread that Las Vegas has put on the game? ... Or will the Ducks, playing before a national ESPN audience with a 1:30 p.m., MT, kickoff, be looking to impress the College Football Playoff committee with an eyebrow raising rout? ... Will J.T. Shrout be CU's quarterback the remainder of the season, or will Owen McCown be allowed back onto the field when he's able? ... Is the Buffs4Life Collective a breath of fresh air in an otherwise suffocating fall for the Buff Nation, or is this going to prove to be yet another example of Colorado - and its fan base - failing to compete in the new age of college football?

Mostly I don't worry about respectability. I'm aware that I work in fields that lack a certain respectability and that by operating at the margins, I do not rank high on a lot of people's respectability scales. I notice it particularly in the comments on anything that proposes providing support for artists (for housing, basic income, anything – “Why should we help these people who don't even do a regular job for a living?”). I have made a kind of peace with my lack of respectability and can sometimes even revel in it. Recently, though, I found myself thinking about it – after wrapping up jury service on a civil trial, spending hours watching lawyers. Lawyers, despite all the jokes to the contrary, experience a high level of respectability. Often, immigrants want their children to grow up to be lawyers (and doctors!) so that they know the children have achieved something like respectability. No one shakes their head regretfully when they hear someone is going to law school. It's a sign they are entering a respectable social class, a genteel profession. There may be a lot of jokes about how terrible lawyers are but no one will be disappointed if their kid becomes one. Respectability is discovering who you really are. Overcoming the issues that are preventing you from being respectable will require you to remove the comforts from your life that allow you to cope with the issue. For some people it has taken years if not decades to develop these coping mechanisms so don't be surprised if it takes months or years to break the habits. You need to develop discipline to remove your comforts. The removing of comforts develops respectability because it allows you to see yourself for who you really are in that moment. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Why Jesus Opposed the Moneychangers in the Temple THE NEWS & COMMENT: The white house spokes-liar reading from her binder pretends to be celebrating [embed the tweet, please] Karine Jean-Pierre: President Biden will be joined by thousands of Americans in celebrating the historic Inflation Reduction Act https://t.co/wHDoWHSS59 https://twitter.com/TPostMillennial/status/1569751826827808769?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The Figuread's current spokes-liar said what? [AUDIO] -  "Prices have been essentially flat in our country these last two months." CNN says math is “harshing their buzz.” [AUDIO] - CNN: "There is this unfortunate split screen right now with the Dow taking a total beating...it feels like it's hard to be celebratory for some people." The Mockingbirds were trying their best to create a distortion field with their Illusion of Respectability (thank you to Podcast Family member, James McIntsoh for telling me about the stock market hyping by the AP days before the 1,200 drop during the Figureheads's speech) But, that stupid, racist math tends to catch-up with them At least the figurehead has Nancy! [AUDIO] - NOW - Pelosi: "Mr. President ... your extraordinary leadership has made this glorious day possible. I — That's an applause line." Katie Pavlich with fun tweet . . . Biden forgot to vote absentee…so after  he held a party at the White House to celebrate inflation and in the wake of American 401k plans/other retirement investments getting wiped out today, he decided to make a quick, emission filled, $177k+ trip to Delaware and back tonight.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

THE THESIS: For a century or more, The Illusion of Respectability has worked to obscure the brutality of The Party. Just as God has allowed us to know what's coming, He has also given us all the tools we need to pierce their veil of respectability.  THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  We should consult the Bible for the characteristics of the people we hire, through elections, to carry out our common duties.  What Are the Requirements to Be an Elder? THE NEWS & COMMENT: Dr. Phil once pulled a stunt where he invited a guy who made money debasing, harming, abusing and belittling homeless people on, only to kick him off the show after Phil watched the intro package his team produced. I don't believe for two seconds it was the first time Phil saw that footage.  [AUDIO] - Dr. Phil kicks the Bum Fights host and producer off Phil's show Lori Lightfoot, the so-called Mayor of Chicago, does the same thing the Bum Fights guy does and the Mockingbird Media does the same thing as Phil. Lori is shipping the illegal immigrants that Greg Abbott send to Chicago to the Chicago suburbs.  The Party does the same thing to race as the Bum Fights guy did to homeless people.  Liberal Disinfo: New York Times Corrects ‘Racist' BYU Hoax It Should Never Have Spread [AUDIO] - CNN Demands New King Address BLM, Reparations The Party used the fear they created around a flu--a flu they probably created--in the same way Bum Fights guy used homeless people  [AUDIO] - Christian Tehres: Moderna CEO said to me that "the gov. wanted a quick approval of the vaccines, without giving the manufactures a long time for clinical studies", so they asked and received nonliability guarantees. He also acknowledged that the boosters approved in USA were not tested in humans. We started with Bum Fights . . . getting homeless people to attack each other for money, among other atrocious acts, let's get to direct comparisons.  The Dictator of Canada is starting bum fights among the people of Canada. [AUDIO] -  Justin Trudeau says bringing people together isn't "compatible" with science, and that we shouldn't defend the rights of people "who are anti-vaxx."  Says he has "no sympathy" for those who are discriminated against for being unvaccinated. And, the Figurehead has been caused to embrace the REAL division, the one with ETERNAL consequences. The Biden regime is embracing Satanism ‘We'll Steal Your Soul' – Biden's Monkeypox Spox Has a Penchant for Pentagrams, Occultism, and Satanism.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

THE THESIS: The Democrat Party is mainstreaming Satanism. Incidentally, that is NOT a thesis, that is now a fact.  THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  1 John 5:18-20 18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. 19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Rank and File Of Satan's Kingdom In Ephesians 6:12, the apostle Paul presents a divine revelation he received that describes how Satan's kingdom has been militarily aligned. He writes, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Notice that at the top of this list, Paul mentions a group of evil spirits he calls “principalities.” This word is taken from the Greek word archai, an old word that is used symbolically to denote ancient times. It is also used to depict individuals who hold the highest and loftiest position of rank and authority. By using the word archai, Paul emphatically tells us that at the very top of Satan's kingdom are powerful evil beings that have held their lofty positions of power and authority since ancient times — probably ever since the fall of Lucifer. Paul goes on to tell us that below principalities is a second group of evil beings he refers to as “powers.” This word “powers” is taken from the Greek word exousia, and it denotes delegated authority. This describes a lower, second-level group of evil beings — demon spirits — who have received delegated authority from Satan to carry out all manner of evil in whatever way they desire to do it. These evil forces are second in command in Satan's dark kingdom. Continuing in his description of Satan's rank and file in descending order, Paul mentions “the rulers of the darkness of this world.” This amazing phrase is taken from the word kosmokrateros and is a compound of the words kosmos and kratos. The word kosmos denotes order or arrangement, whereas the word kratos has to do with raw power. Thus, the compounded word kosmokrateros depicts raw power that has been harnessed and put into some kind of order. This word kosmokrateros was at times used to picture military training camps where young men were assembled, trained, and turned into a mighty army. These young men were like raw power when they first arrived in the training camp. However, as the military training progressed and the new recruits were taught discipline and order, all that raw manpower was converted into an organized, disciplined army. This is the word Paul now uses in his description of Satan's kingdom. What does it mean?  Don Stewart :: How Does Satan Keep Unbelievers in Spiritual Darkness? BLOCK 1 The Figurehead was told to appoint an apparent Satanist as the Monkey Pox coordinator. And, at this point, given his social media profiles and interviews, he will need to come and and PROVE he's not a Satanist. Benny Johnson was first out with the pictures of this guy. They are disturbing beyond belief. If you are not a Satanist why do you do everything Satanists do?  Benny Johnson: “Meet Demetre Daskalakis. Demetre was just appointed by Joe Biden to be the official White House National Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator. Demetre proudly wears the official symbol of the Church of Satan: The Pentagram. Joe Biden appointed a Satanist to the White House.” Some more pictures of this guy Of course, playing to the Illusion of Respectability, he put on the coat and tie to lie to people about Monkey Pox [AUDIO] - Suddenly wearing a jacket and tie, Demetre explains this about Monkey Pox The people who run Joe Biden, and The Party as a whole, are obsessed with promoting all things that go against the Word of God. Adultery, theft, muder, coveting are all sins, but CNN is obsessed with promoting the sin of being active in same sex intercourse.  [AUDIO] -  Watch Christiane Amanpour insistently push the gay agenda on the newly-elected president of Kenya. She seems very disappointed when he doesn't seem to be on board. Where is her respect for the traditions of African society? The rot comes from the top. This so-called pediatrician is teaching kids how to make their own sex lube . . . (more on her in a bit). [AUDIO] - A so-called pediatrician teaches kids how to make their own sex lube for anal sex The evil spirits that push adults to use the bodies of kids for their sexual desires have not gone away. In fact, they are celebrated as legitimate academics!  WARNING: very disturbing content. Dr. John Money, Father Of Gender Theory, Was A Pedophilia Apologist [AUDIO] - To get an idea of what Queer Theory prescribes, watch this short clip by author Derrick Jensen. Notice how at the end he points out how not a single queer theorist has gone on record against pedophilia. The rot starts at the top. The goddesses permeates The Party all the way to the bottom [AUDIO] -  Arizona State Superintendent @kathyhoffman_az is now being sued after it was discovered the Dept of Education website directed kids to hyper-sexualized secret chat rooms. Sex Education Book Instructs Parents To Let Their Young Children Watch Them Have Sex Back to the so-called pediatrician:  [AUDIO] - Pediatrician--the same one grooming kids with how to make their own lube fo anals sex--promotes puberty blockers to kids on tiktok claiming they just “pause” puberty so you have more time to “explore your gender identity” You must understand that their fake god is neither male nor female -- this is terrible to consider and vital to know  We were told this would happen, the Bible describes these times.  [AUDIO] - To put it in pop culture terms, the movie “Taken” is helpful . . . Liam Neeson knew the trafficked would take his daughter, he told her so and told her what to do. He never stopped looking for her and he destroyed the men who abducted her. The Lord, Jesus will not stop pursuing us until the Final Battle. He has given instructions on what to do to avoid being taken and what do do if our loved ones are taken.  People are prayerfully fighting back. This is the second time a godless event like this was canceled in Idaho after people prayed and put public pressure on businesses sponsoring this so they can virtue signal Boise Pride Fest cancels children's drag show Zions Bank canceled their sponsorship -- but, WHY is an LDS-owned back sponsoring a festival based upon human pride and defiance of the Word of God? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

https://www.zaksandler.com/ https://www.instagram.com/bipolar_broadway/ Zak Sandler has played piano on Broadway for Wicked, Mean Girls, Motown, and The Color Purple. His original musical about his mental health journey, Inside My Head, premiered at the NY Theatre Barn, was selected as a semi-finalist at the O'Neill Theater's National Music Theater Conference, and presented at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage. Zak revised the show as a writer-in-residence at the Kennedy Center's REACH page-to-stage festival in January 2022. He is touring the show - which includes a group discussion - to colleges, high schools, mental health and non-profit organizations, medical schools, companies, and anyone else who wants to host this inspiring, life changing event. Virtual performances are available, though in-person is preferred! In addition to Inside My Head, Zak is creating a docuseries about the connection between mental conditions and creativity, called Insanely Talented. He is co-writing three shows with the brilliant and lovely Adele Powers: Anthem, a musical that explores why we sing the national anthem (conceived by Rachel Payne); a musical about a unicorn called That Musical About a Unicorn; and a musical about Judaism, called Happy Challah Days: A Jewish Revue-ish. Zak is also arranging and co-orchestrating Unlimited, a musical revue of the work of Stephen Schwartz's (composer of Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, and Children of Eden, and soundtracks of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas, and Enchanted). Zak has won several music awards including the Fenno Heath Award for writing the new Yale song, the Neva Greenwood award for writing a symphony in 8th grade, the Mount Vernon Piano Competition (playing “Rhapsody in Blue” with the Mount Vernon Orchestra in 8th grade), and was selected as a composer for the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project at Northwestern (a mixture of a thrilling week of writing, and a deep depression). https://www.insidemyheadmusical.com/ Zak graduated from Yale with a BA in music composition in 2008 - two years after his exhilarating and terrifying first psychotic episode. He is very glad that he returned to school for the following semester, following his psychiatrist's advice. Beyond musical theater, Zak is an avid mental health activist, speaking about his mental conditions on “This is Actually Happening” (podcast with 45K+ plays), and “Moments of Clarity” (radio show with 1M+ listeners). In 2018, he won the Young Leader Award from the New York State chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and is a featured speaker with This is My Brave, RespectAbility, and the JED Foundation. Zak's hobbies include barbershop singing (he is a member of the Alexandria Harmonizers, a choir of 60 people who age from their 20s to 80s!), playing golf, watching college basketball, spending time with his cats, eating fancy food (usually vegetarian), traveling (he has been to 48 US states and 26 countries), and, after years of resisting TV, watching shows like “Grace and Frankie” and “The Ultimatum” with his fiancee, Lenna. He feels incredibly grateful to have her and the rest of his family and friends in his life. Zak tries not to use phrases "mental illness" or "bipolar disorder", because he feels they imply there's something wrong with him (although he knows those terms fit well for some of us). He prefers the terms “mental conditions” and simply, “bipolar”. https://soundcloud.com/zaksandler/mental-episode-1-from-a-bit-too-much-about-me --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bravemaker/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bravemaker/support

In Claiming Union Widowhood: Race, Respectability, and Poverty in the Post-Emancipation South (Duke UP, 2020), Brandi Clay Brimmer analyzes the US pension system from the perspective of poor black women during and after the Civil War. Reconstructing the grassroots pension network in New Bern, North Carolina, through a broad range of historical sources, she outlines how the mothers, wives, and widows of black Union soldiers struggled to claim pensions in the face of evidentiary obstacles and personal scrutiny. Brimmer exposes and examines the numerous attempts by the federal government to exclude black women from receiving the federal pensions that they had been promised. Her analyses illustrate the complexities of social policy and law administration and the interconnectedness of race, gender, and class formation. Expanding on previous analyses of pension records, Brimmer offers an interpretive framework of emancipation and the freedom narrative that places black women at the forefront of demands for black citizenship. Dr. Owen Strachan joins Seth at the Confronting The Culture Conference at Godspeak Calvary Chapel on March 12th to discuss how the Church and Big Eva have made peace with every forward movement of the secular moral revolution in order to gain cultural respectability. Dr. Strachan traces the development of the American Evangelical identity all the way to our current paradigm, and the obsession many Evangelicals have to get a place at the table. Diagnosing Big Eva's terminal cancer with theological ninja skills, Dr. Strachan explains how the idol of “cultural capital” has handicapped broad swathes of the Church from contending for righteousness in the public square. While unborn children have become an acceptable sacrifice on the altar of our “cultural influence,” Dr. Strachan reminds Christians how we're called to use cultural capital, and his answer will open up a can of Jesus you can't put a lid on!
