Hour 1 We start the NFL season with two 0-1 teams yet again. The Jets offense looked surprisingly good but the defense gave up 4 TDs to Aaron Rodgers. The Jets also had a fumble on a kickoff return that really hurt them. Justin Fields made a lot of good throws. What will Brian Daboll do at quarterback? Gio said he cannot put Jaxson Dart out there behind that line. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Xavier Gipson fumble that really hurt them and the 60 yard FG that won the game. Mike Tomlin called the kicker a ‘serial killer'. Aaron Glenn talked about the discipline issues they had. Brian Daboll talked about the tough loss in Washington. We heard Daniel Jones throwing a beautiful pass for a TD as they had no problem with Miami. Mike McDaniel talked about what went wrong. The Ravens blew a big lead in the fourth quarter and lost to the Bills. Green Bay had no problem beating the Lions. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and took the series as Cody Bellinger had a nice RBI. The Mets lost to the Reds and dropped the series. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Giants fans who are sick of the same old same old. Hour 2 We talked about the Giants quarterback situation and how they have to try hard not to screw up Jaxson Dart. It seems like the only chance Daboll has of keeping his job is starting Dart and him playing well. Callers are sick of the boring Giants offense. If the Giants don't win this week in Dallas, this has the makings of a 3-win season. They have the Chiefs and Chargers after that. A caller calls Andrew Thomas a ‘mutt' for not playing hurt. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Steelers beating the Jets with a 60 yard FG. Mike Tomlin described him as wanting to ‘bang from deep'. We heard the sounds of the Commanders having no problem with the Giants as they scored only 6 points. Malik Nabers talked about his spat with Daboll on the sideline. Russell Wilson was asked about the supposed package of plays for Jaxson Dart. Daniel Jones had a great day as the Colts beat the Dolphins. Buffalo scored 16 unanswered points to come back in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens. Jerry went around the NFL. The Yankees took their series from the Blue Jays while the Mets lost theirs to the Reds. In the final segment of the hour, a fan shoved DeAndre Hopkins so Lamar Jackson shoved him back. Gio thinks moronic fans should keep their hands off the players. Hour 3 As fun as the Jets game was, you are still pulling your hair out because that's a game they should have won. And it was Aaron Rodgers, no less, coming in and throwing 4 TDs. The Jets were the better team for all 4 quarters, but as Aaron Glenn said, there are no moral victories. And the stadium was full of Steelers fans. The Giants on the other hand looked like they have the last four years, not good. A caller said he felt out of place at MetLife as a Jets fan. Gio can't believe people still like to go to games. With the Giants, once again, we are watching the same thing we've been seeing year after year. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Jets loss against the Steelers. Aaron Glenn talked about the fumble and said players won't remain on the team if they have costly turnovers. Boomer liked Glenn's postgame press conference. Xavier Gipson talked about his costly fumble. Aaron Rodgers was asked about beating Glenn since he didn't want him any more. We heard Brandon Tierney's ‘Unkillable' podcast reaction after the Jets loss. We heard from Tommy Lugauer and Shaun Morash who both want Jaxson Dart to start. The Bills came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens as Derrick Henry had a costly fumble. Lamar Jackson talked about his physical contact with a fan. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and took the series. The Mets lost to the Reds and lost the series. In the final segment of the hour, a car somehow jumped both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Sunrise highway. The driver was having a ...

Send us a textThe New York Giants opened the 2025 NFL season with a thud, falling 21-6 to the Washington Commanders in a disappointing performance at MetLife. Jayden Daniels showed poise, Deebo Samuel made a statement in his debut, and Washington's defense set the tone early and never let up. Giants fans, where's your confidence after this? Drop your take in the comments and don't forget to subscribe for every breakdown this season.Special guest Chris Powell of Couch Coach Live joins Drew and Rob for this post-game breakdown. Check out his channel here:https://www.youtube.com/c/couchcoachliveThe Commanders controlled the game with physical defense, holding the Giants scoreless on two red-zone trips and forcing Russell Wilson into constant pressure. Daniels threw for 233 yards and a touchdown while adding impact with his legs, and Deebo sealed the game with a clutch touchdown run that left New York deflated. On the other side, Abdul Carter flashed with a sack and blocked punt, but the Giants' offensive line issues were glaring. Andrew Thomas' absence was felt, and without a consistent run game, the offense never found its rhythm. This episode dives into all the key takeaways: how Washington's defense suffocated the Giants, why the offensive line continues to be a massive problem, what Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll need to adjust going into Week 2, and whether fans should panic already or stay patient with this roster. #nygiants #giants #newyorkgiants #commanders #nfl Support the showThank you for watching & for your support. Hour 1 The Mets beat the Tigers again and Nolan McLean pitched great again after having a rough start to the game. Boomer would start him first in a playoff series. Max Fried pitched well against Houston last night. We also talked about Astros pitcher Framber Valdez purposely crossing up his catcher and hitting him in the chest with a fastball. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first Boomer compared McLean to Tom Seaver, so that's where we're at this morning. The Tigers' broadcasters seemed very impressed with his pitching. The Yankees won in Houston with a Trent Grisham grand slam. In the final segment of the hour, the Giants have listed Jaxson Dart as the backup quarterback to Russell Wilson instead of having Jameis Winston as the number two. Boomer likes the move. We also talked about Andrew Thomas' injury. Hour 2 Rich Cimini tweeted that Vivid Seats claims there will be 48% Steelers fans at the Jets home opener on Sunday. Gio thinks that's a bad look for the opening game. Steelers fans do travel well, but almost half the stadium? A caller said Evan Roberts sold his Jets tix for the Steelers game. Callers said they sell their tickets because MetLife is the worst stadium in the NFL. Jerry returns for an update and compares Al Dukes to Adam Schein in their takes on the upcoming Bills season. The agent for Micah Parsons was on with Pat McAfee and said he did not tell Jerry Jones to stick the contract offer up his butt. Dan Campbell is excited to be going to Lambeau for week one. The Mets won again in Detroit as Nolan McLean had another impressive outing. The Yankees beat Houston as Jazz Chisholm hit two home runs. Rafael Devers homered against Colorado and the benches cleared because he admired it. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer wondered which college head coaching job is the toughest. Hour 3 The Sporting News ranked all the NFL starting quarterbacks. Tua was ranked 28th! Justin Fields is at 24. Russell Wilson is at 23. Boomer said the Colts have lost 11 straight season openers. Gio wonders why Phil Simms is not joining us on Wednesdays this football season. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Micah Parsons and if he will need an epidural to play in week 1. Mike Gundy did a commercial for a wireless company doing a parody of his, ‘I'm a man, I'm 40!' Jerry went around the NFL including Mike Tomlin on Justin Fields. The Yankees beat the Astros as Grisham hit a grand slam and Jazz hit 2 home runs. Bob Does Sports asked Aaron Boone about fans in the Legends seats eating instead of sitting in the seats. The Mets got another great performance from Nolan McLean and they beat the Tigers. In the final segment of the hour, we got Boomer & Gio stickers for our laptops when on TV. We also talked more about Micah Parsons getting an epidural. Steve in Atlanta checks in and says his wife gave birth ‘on all fours'. Hour 4 Earlier in the show, Boomer said that Mets pitcher Nolan McLean reminded him of Tom Seaver, and we thought that was a bit over the top. All the old people are calling, agreeing with Boomer. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Mets win in Detroit, including the Tigers' broadcasters who seemed amazed by McLean. The Yankees won in Houston as Trent Grisham hit another grand slam. Dianna Russini said Alijah Vera Tucker suffered a potentially serious injury and could miss significant time. Adam Schefter said it's an arm injury and may require surgery. The Moment of The Day: Is Phil Simms joining us this football season? BT and Sal ripped into Jets fans for allowing a "terrible takeover" of MetLife Stadium, with a reported 48% of the crowd being Steelers fans. They argued that while some might sell tickets for financial reasons, this trend shows a lack of commitment and enthusiasm for the new-look Jets, particularly with Aaron Glenn at the helm. The hosts contrasted this with their "Call of the Day," a story about a father who taught his son a tough lesson about not running away from a loss in a game of "aces up," highlighting the stark difference between accountability and the Jets' fanbase. The conversation also touched on the Mets' playoff potential, with Sal suggesting their current flaws are "regular season problems" that will be fixed in the postseason.

BT and Sal ripped into Jets fans for selling a huge number of tickets for the team's home opener against the Steelers, allowing a "terrible towel takeover" of MetLife Stadium. They argued that despite the excitement of a new season and the Aaron Glenn era beginning, the fans' lack of faith and willingness to cash in on tickets shows a deep-seated apathy. Sal believes that this "pathetic" display is a symptom of a fan base that has been let down for years and has given up on believing in the team, even before the first snap of the season.

The long, holiday weekend has come to an end…the calendar has flipped to a new month…and we've got so much to do before this Sunday's bike giveaway at Features in Holmen! Speaking of the new month, it's officially September…so we listed off a few things to look forward to in the upcoming month. We also talked to Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show about the struggling Brewers, and the MASSIVE move by the Packers last week to acquire Micah Parsons from the Cowboys. In the news this morning, the Powerball jackpot is going to be $1.3 billion this Wednesday, a victim of a road rage attack in VT might need to have both his eyes surgically removed, former UWL Chancellor Joe Gow is going to be on TV tonight in a TMZ story about OnlyFans, an 11-year-old child was shot & killed while playing a game of "ding dong ditch", and actor Graham Greene passed away this weekend. In sports, the Brew Crew continue to struggle, Bill Belichick makes his debut as the head coach of UNC, a look at the Week 1 schedule in the NFL, and Chase Briscoe gets a win in the first NASCAR Cup Series playoff race. Elsewhere in sports, a viral clip of a Polish CEO stealing from a child, and a very "grabby" Oakland A's fan reminds us of another moment in baseball history. We talked about what else is on TV tonight and we also discussed the guy at the Korn show at MetLife stadium who was REALLY excited to be there. Everyone was sharing the video of the kid walking around on a monorail at an amusement park this weekend(thankfully, he was rescued without harm), but did you see this 100-year-old celebrate his birthday with a skydive??? There was also three brothers who rowed across the Pacific Ocean and helped raise over $1 million for clean water projects in Madagascar! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who's luggage was stolen from the airport…but he used his Apple airtags to track down the thieves, an officer who responded to a call while visibly intoxicated, a guy who got busted for filming upskirt videos at a college library, a Maserati owner who got busted with a bunch of laughing gas containers in his car, a new crime spree where people steal your gutters in broad daylight for scrap, and a couple of guys took turns shooting each other in the head while wearing a Kevlar helmet.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Guest Appearance during Ep. 27 of the Ask the Law Firm Seller Show: Greg Maxwell, Esq., CFP of Amicus Settlement Planners: What tax savings value do structured settlements provide to sellers and buyers of Contingency Fee law firms?   During Ep. 27 of the Ask the Law Firm Seller Show, Greg Maxwell, Esq., CFP of Amicus Settlement Planners joins to address the following question:   What tax savings value do structured settlements provide to sellers and buyers of Contingency Fee law firms?   Maxwell initially explains that Amicus Settlement Planners primarily works with contingency fee practices, assisting with settlement planning from the standpoint of spreading out recoveries in contingency fee matters to reduce the “tax bite” that plaintiffs may otherwise incur. Maxwell and Senior Attorney Match's Jeremy E. Poock, Esq. then discuss the benefits that structured settlements offer to contingency fee plaintiff attorneys, including a role for structured settlements in the sales of contingency fee law firms. As Poock and Maxwell discuss, structured settlements can play a role in the following scenarios: (a) Deferring taxes upon a portion of upfront money paid by a purchaser to the seller of a contingency fee law firm; and (b) Deferring portions of annual earnout payments for sales structured as earnouts once a selling contingency fee attorney receives annual earnout payments that satisfy a selling attorney's annual income needs. Maxwell explains the benefits of a structured installment sale when sellers of contingency fee law firms receive significant upfront payments in consideration of their law firms. In those sales, Maxwell explains that a buyer can direct a portion of purchase proceeds to a company such as MetLife or Independent Life, which can establish a future series of payments for a seller, such as payments over the course of 3, 5, or 10 years, or the remainder of a Seller's lifetime.   As Maxwell states, “So, the point of that is to really get them down into the tax bracket that they want to be in so that they don't have a huge spike in taxes the year they sell their firm. . . This gives them the opportunity to spread out that recovery . . . and keep themselves in a tax bracket that's more comfortable for them.”   Maxwell's appearance also includes addressing the following hypothetical: Assume that the 67 year old owner of a Personal Injury Law firm that generates $2M in annual legal fees sells to a growing PI firm in consideration of 1/3 fee sharing for 5 years upon cases attributable to the Seller's Book of Business.   Assume that the Seller's Book of Business continues to generate $2M/yr. during the 5 year earnout period, which would result in annual fee sharing with the Seller in the amount of $667k/yr.   Assume that the Selling attorney only needs to earn $350k/yr. because of revenue from other sources of income.   How could a structured settlement arrangement “capture” the additional $317k in annual earnout revenue, including deferring taxes for the Seller?   As Maxwell explains, the Seller may treat the additional $317k as deferred compensation, where similar to an annuity, that $317k could benefit from deferred tax treatment until the Seller receives all or a portion of that amount from a plan administrator in the future.

Hour 1 - Boomer & Gio are out this week, so Jerry Recco and Willie Colon hosted, starting with the Subway Series, where the Mets nearly beat the Yanks if not for Cody Bellinger's incredible catch. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was tossed arguing bad strike calls, and Pete Alonso is skipping the HR Derby. Juan Soto's All-Star snub was also a topic. C-Lo gave his first update, including Dave Sims' call of the Bellinger catch, as the Yankees snapped a six-game losing streak. Evan Roberts is vacationing in Paris, posting Mets win videos and a Rico Brogna podcast. Al is off to Montana with no plans, and Jerry discovered professional pillow fighting. The hour concluded by discussing Aaron Boone and the Yankees' struggles, suggesting they won't run away with the AL East. Hour 2 - A caller to Sal Licata blamed WFAN and the media for players struggling in New York, citing their success after leaving. Willie Colon shared his own experiences with media criticism during his time with the Jets and in Pittsburgh. C-Lo then delivered an update, highlighting the Yankees' win over the Mets, including another Aaron Judge home run and Cody Bellinger's impressive catch and double play. There was also a segment on Anthony Volpe's father confronting fans in the stands who were criticizing his son, with audio of Sal's exchange with the caller on player criticism. The hour concluded with a caller mentioning Montana's attractions, specifically that you can drive to North and South Dakota from there. Hour 3 - The show continued its discussion on player criticism, especially for high-salaried athletes, balancing expectations with the reality of performance. Upcoming Jets and Giants seasons, with Aaron Rodgers' Week 1 return to MetLife, were also reviewed. C-Lo delivered an update, but not before Jerry and a caller had a brief argument. Evan Roberts recorded a "Rico Brogna" podcast from Paris while scoring a game at the airport, and Pete Alonso will be in the All-Star game but not the HR Derby. The hour ended with Jerry introducing a guessing game about an X post and a conversation with the new intern. Hour 4 - The show covered Starling Marte's injury and the Mets' anticipated return of Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga, while Jerry noted a lack of buzz for the Subway Series. The Knicks still haven't held a press conference for new head coach Mike Brown. A humorous discussion ensued about social norms regarding public attire. C-Lo's final update focused on the Yankees' win over the Mets, featuring Cody Bellinger's excellent defense. Other topics included Keith Hernandez's recent success with a plunger, Joe Benigno's seemingly too-early 5 AM Saturday show, and "The Moment of The Day" highlighting Al's unplanned Montana trip. The segment concluded with Jerry feeling "fleeced."
