Post-Gazette sports columnist Jason Mackey joins host Adam Bittner to react to the week in Pittsburgh sports news. Is Aaron Rodgers delaying his deal with the Steelers out of fear of losing his job like Kirk Cousins did to Michael Penix Jr. with the Atlanta Falcons last season? As Fox Sports insider Jason McIntyre has speculated? What should we make of Justin Fields' comments to reporters, in which he said he didn't feel "comfortable" with Mike Tomlin and the Steelers following his midseason benching in favor of Russell Wilson? How seriously should the GM Omar Khan be taking Shedeur Sanders as a draft option? Whether or not Rodgers signs? And was T.J. Watt being cryptic in an Instagram post in which he gave a peace sign? Or are fans and observers looking too far into it and what it means for his future with the Steelers? Our duo tackles those questions and more. In the second and third segments, airing on the Post-Gazette's new Pirates YouTube channel, the guys give their thoughts on a busy week for the Pirates on and off the field. How much criticism does team president Travis Williams deserve for the Bucco Bricks fiasco, the bungled tribute to Roberto Clemente, attendance issues and the state of PNC Park? Are the problems with the Pirates as a business eclipsing their shortcomings on the field? And how much is owner Bob Nutting paying attention to his club's issues amid relentless chants for him to "sell the team" that started at the home opener last weekend and have not subsided? Our duo tackles those questions, then analyzes on-field performance in the second segment. Should we worry about a small dip in Paul Skenes' velocity in his worst start as a Pirates on Tuesday in a loss to the Cardinals? Are Justin Lawrence, Denis Santana and Caleb Ferguson the answers manager Derek Shelton has been looking for in the bullpen following struggles from David Bendar and Colin Holderman in high-leverage roles? Should we be more encouraged or discouraged by Ke'Bryan Hayes' start to the season offensively? How much grace will veterans Tommy Pham and Adam Frazier get amid their struggles? And how important does Andrew McCutchen remain to this lineup? If you haven't already, subscribe to the sports department's YouTube channels so you don't miss a video with our reporters, columnists and their special guests.

“Take a moment to identify an area in your life where you feel ‘benched'—a situation where you're not getting the results you want. Instead of complaining or making excuses, ask yourself: What specific actions can I take today to earn my spot back in the game? Then, commit to doing one thing that moves you forward.”You Got This, Ryan

Introduction: Host Michael Rand starts with the unsightly mess that happened at Target Center on Thursday. In Karl-Anthony Towns' much-anticipated return after a trade just a few months ago, the Wolves were clobbered by Towns and the Knicks. Fans booed as the Wolves, who seemed to be getting themselves sorted out by winning six of their previous seven games, floundered. 11:00: Star Tribune Vikings writer Ben Goessling joins Rand for a look at two big stories. First, they dive into the benching of former Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and what it means in the big picture. And they examine how the Vikings have been able to keep their veteran players healthy this year. 40:00: A cool moment on Thursday Night Football.
ESPN NFL Analyst and Former NFL Head Coach, Herm Edwards joined OverDrive to discuss the biggest headlines around the league, Josh Allen's incredible season, the Lions playing through injuries on the team, Aaron Rodgers' next steps in the league, Kirk Cousins' benching with the Falcons and more.

Introduction: Host Michael Rand starts with the Wild, who have lost three of their last four games, including another lopsided defeat (6-1) on Wednesday against Florida. Goaltending has been the biggest part of the Wild's resurgence this season, and they need Filip Gustavsson to recover soon from his lower body injury. Otherwise, advanced data says their season will be in peril. 7:00: Kirk Cousins spoke to the media for the first time since he was benched by the Falcons. Hear what he had to say. 10:00: La Velle E. Neal III joins Rand for their weekly debate segment, which this week focuses on these subjects: Who will win the NFC North? How important is Thursdays' Wolves vs. Knicks game? And what do we think of a wacky MLB idea? 30:00: Side stories are nice, but Thursday should just be a good basketball game.

In hour two, we play ‘Who Got Funky' to credit the best performances of the sports weekend. Hoch is proud of McDaniel for throwing Skylar back on the bench Sunday after he botched a simple handoff. Crowder's Gators pick up two impressive wins in back to back weeks. Serious question: does Julian Hill have eyes and ears? Plus, studs and duds from the Dolphins victory.
Drew Lock spoke to the media yesterday and is confused and not happy being skipped over as the number two quarterback. The Giants leapfrogged him for the fans. They want Tommy DeVito and they are giving them a reason to come out on Sunday. If DeVito plays well we'll ask why he didn't get a start sooner, and it will hurt their draft order. Kirk Cousins could be available as a ‘stop gap guy' for the Giants. Boomer thinks if this was an away game for the Giants, Lock probably would have gotten the start. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with a preview of Steelers/Browns tonight. There could be snow tonight in Cleveland. Dexter Lawrence talked about the benching of Daniel Jones and Brian Daboll talked about Dexter's comments. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about Thanksgiving. Ocho said he'll see if a follower of his will let him go to their place. In the final segment of the hour, over 30 million people watched the Sunday game between the Chiefs and Bills. Netflix could be a major player when the NFL rights come up for CBS or Fox.

E and T Short: The Giants players have mixed feelings on the Jones benching
Dexter Lawrence was asked about Daniel Jones benching and he didn't quite understand it. He did say Jones was his best friend, so he is going to defend him. Other players feel it was a money decision by the Giants. Boomer said they are starting Tommy DeVito to give something to the fans. Both the Jets and Giants are going to need quarterbacks next season, assuming Rodgers isn't back with the Jets. Boomer also wonders if Rodgers will say he's too injured to play the rest of this season. If the owner is pulling the rip cord on the season, why should Rodgers tough it out? Jerry returns for an update and starts with Todd McShay saying Joe Douglas will be fine, the Jets will not. McShay said it's an ownership problem. Shedeur Sanders was asked by his podcast co-host and teammate about going to the Giants. Gio wonders if John Mara would want that circus. Michael Irvin said Deion and Shedeur would go to the Cowboys together. Gio said Mara likes Huckleberry Finn as a quarterback. In the final segment of the hour, Gio and his wife go to separate rooms to watch TV at night because they want to watch 2 different things. Gio said there is a new season of 1,000 Pound Sisters that they watch together.

One season later, Young is benched and Andy Dalton is looking to turn around the Panthers' season.
