It is the first episode of the Summer series! We open the show up with a lengthy discussion on the biggest women's college basketball transfer news in years, Hailey Van Lith transferring to the defending champs LSU. Josh, Phil, and Trevor break down the impact of this transfer on the women's game and have a healthy discussion on the state of Women's cbb. Should Iowa play LSU early in the season to capitalize on high ratings? Next, we talk about the transfer portal and who has been some of the big winners during the early period. West Virginia looks poised to make a big push after having success from the portal. Also, we talk about who is still in the portal and project where we think they go as their next stop in college basketball or if they ultimately go the professional route. Lastly, we have summer fun and talk about some of the biggest "WHAT IF's" from college basketball in the last couple of decades. What if Gordan Hayward's half-court heave goes in against Duke and how does that alter cbb history? What If John Calipari takes the NC State job in 2006? It's a fun discussion looking back at some of the biggest scenarios that never happened in college basketball. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ecbpodcast/message
The Celtics have had some tough years in the NBA playoffs. The year we almost made the finals and lost Kyrie right as the playoff run began. Each game we needed Gordan Hayward in the playoffs he magically would acquire an injury the game or even night before. Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown battled for who deserved to be the alpha on the Boston Celtics roster. As it turns out all it touch was a change in the head coach. Ime Udokah has been an otherworldly acquisition for the Boston Celtics. He has shaped this team into a team that plays defense first. Moves the ball around the court until we find the open shooter that the defense does not respect enough. We make teams pay for leaving a mismatch defensively on the court which can force the hand of opposing coaches to alter their late game lineups. The players rally around their head coach and the amount of passion he carries. Fitting considering this Boston Celtics team is full of personalities and emotionally driven players. Guys who leave it all out on the court, dive for every loose ball. The Celtics roster is in good hands and after watching game one of the NBA Finals the future mat be right now. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/renereport/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/renereport/support

Hour 2- Brian Barrett explains how people are taking Jayson Tatum for granted and why it's time to respect how good he is. Looking at how good the Celtics have been since this has been "Jayson Tatum's team"... looking past the Kyrie Irving, Gordan Hayward, and Al Horford (the first go around) years, and why people need to relax on Tatum's 'lack of leadership'. Sean Deveney, the NBA editor for Heavy.com joins the show. Looking at how Brad Stevens is doing in his new role, and the impact of the insight he has from coaching the Jays. What rule changes should the MLB adopt in their next CBA Agreement?

The Philadelphia Sixers beat the Boston Celtics by a score of 109-98. For all of the Brett Brown haters, he is now 3-0 against Brad Stevens this season. I assume those same haters believe Stevens is a great coach in this league. Oh by the way, this was without Joel Embiid as we learned he is going to need surgery on his dislocated finger. Al Horford was awesome and stepped up against his former team. He had 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Ben Simmons was tremendous and he was being utilized as the screen once again! It is VERY beneficial to this team. Josh Richardson scored 29 points and recorded seven assists as well. Norvell Pelle created a ton of energy with his rim protection and Furkan Korkmaz even hit a couple big shots in the fourth quarter. The defense effected the Celtics big time. Jayson Tatum shot 4-13, Jaylen Brown shot 2-12. and Gordan Hayward went 4-11 from the field. Kemba Walker dropped 26. The Philadelphia Eagles fire Mike Groh and Carson Walch after Doug Pederson spoke at the season ending press conference and stated they would both be back. This is a positive thing for the team as I believe they can upgrade both positions, but it's odd for this to occur. Did Jeffrey Lurie step over Doug Pederson and make a decision as the owner? Did Doug Pederson lie? What does this say about the future of Jim Schwartz?

The NBA Trade Deadline is finally here. The Celtic's were in a prime position to make a move at the deadline. Sitting as a team that could potentionally reach the Eastern Conference Finals. Having a ton of draft picks including the coveted 2016 1st round Draft Pick of the Brooklyn Nets which appears detined to be a top 5 pick. Plus having several expiring contract which would be really valuable to teams who have decided to give up on this season and focus on the Free Agency market this summer with a lot of big names becoming available. Throughout the last 2 months your Celtics Talk Crew has discussed some of the key names that have been mentioned in articles as potential targets for the Celtics. Names like Demarcus Cousins, Gordan Hayward, Kevin Love. So now that the NBA Trade Deadline has passed did Danny Ainge pull the trigger on a deal.
