Today, we talk about civility, or the lack thereof, in today's society. There are some courtesies that have seemingly been lost to time, for example, writing handwritten thank you notes. God's People Need Good Shepherds Shepherding is greater than leadership. The consistent image for leaders in the Bible is shepherds. And shepherds are among the sheep. Shepherds know the sheep and the sheep know them. Shepherds provide for and protect the sheep. This is why churches must have good shepherds - leaders, elders, overseers who embody godly character and serve the sheep as shepherds. Titus 1:5-9 5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you, 6 namely, if any man is beyond reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of indecent behavior or rebellion. 7 For the overseer must be beyond reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not overindulging in wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, 8 but hospitable, loving what is good, self-controlled, righteous, holy, disciplined, 9 holding firmly the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict it. Send us a textThere is a question and all people must answer and a realization all people must conclude. The question is, "What do I believe?" The realization is that "All people need a Savior." To fail in these two areas is to live and die in your sins. This message gives a clear and simple understanding of Who Jesus is and why He came. It also teaches us how to get back to Gd. If we do not get back to God in this life, we will remain alienated from Him for all of eternity.
The role of social media and why those deranged people need to celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk.Washington Post columnist fired over social media posts after Charlie Kirk's assassinationA left-wing columnist revealed in a Substack on Monday that she was fired by the Washington Post over social media posts amid the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the Colorado school shooting. "On Bluesky, in the aftermath of the horrific shootings in Utah and Colorado, I condemned America's acceptance of political violence and criticized its ritualized responses — the hollow, cliched calls for ‘thoughts and prayers' and ‘this is not who we are' that normalize gun violence and absolve [W]hite perpetrators especially, while nothing is done to curb deaths," Karen Attiah wrote.Kirk, a leading conservative activist, was assassinated at a campus event in Utah on Wednesday. That same day, a separate shooting at a Colorado school left two students injured and the assailant dead.Attiah included multiple screenshots of her posts on Bluesky, including one that read, "Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for [W]hite men who espouse hatred and violence.""My only direct reference to Kirk was one post— his own words on record," Attiah wrote on Substack. In a post to her Bluesky account, Attiah wrote, "'Black women do not have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a [W]hite person's slot'- Charlie Kirk." Attiah appeared to reference a July 2023 remark made by Kirk during "The Charlie Kirk Show" about affirmative action in which he named Joy Reid, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee, according to Reuters, rather than speaking broadly about all Black women, as one viral X post suggested.Attiah said she was fired for speaking out against political violence, "racial double standards" and America's "empathy towards guns.""The Post accused my measured Bluesky posts of being ‘unacceptable', ‘gross misconduct' and of endangering the physical safety of colleagues — charges without evidence, which I reject completely as false. They rushed to fire me without even a conversation. This was not only a hasty overreach, but a violation of the very standards of journalistic fairness and rigor the Post claims to uphold," Attiah wrote in the post, where she included a 2019 photo of herself and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Yet another act of political violence again yesterday. And yet again, we all have to choose. Further divide this country, or try to heal the divide in this country. Don't look at Trump to do any healing. He's incapable. This is on us. As it should be. We have to choose. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sunday our preacher shared a sermon that came to him because of a hymn that kept going through his head while he was driving the 20 plus miles to church that morning. The hymn was, “People Need the Lord,” written by Greg Nelson and Phil McHugh. The idea for the song came from a conversation between the two men during a luncheon in Nashville, where McHugh observed the pain in a waitress' eyes and said to Nelson, "People need the Lord, don't they?” The song became a popular contemporary Christian music classic, most notably recorded by Steve Green a leading...Article Link

Send us a textSome people don't actually love you — they love the version of you that's broken enough to need them. Your pain gave them purpose. Your wounds gave them control. But the moment you start to heal, to rise, to live without their permission… they'll call you “different” like it's a bad thing. The truth? They were never in love with you — they were in love with your dependence. Heal anyway. Rise anyway. Be whole… even if it makes them uncomfortable.Support the show

Ever feel like you're constantly performing the "right" version of yourself while your authentic self gets buried under endless expectations? This conversation explores how we've outsourced our sense of identity to social media, productivity culture, and other people's definitions of success—leaving us fractured and exhausted. Through the story of Moses discovering a burning bush during his mundane shepherd days, we examine how intentional solitude and margin aren't luxuries for introverts, but necessary practices for anyone wanting to reconnect with who they really are. Whether you're an extrovert with ADHD or someone who thrives on constant stimulation, there are practical ways to step outside the relentless flow and create space for curiosity, creativity, and authentic connection. Perfect for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the "everything everywhere all at once" pace of modern life and wondering how to find themselves again beneath all the noise.
