Just occasionally, social media can deliver something really heart warming and Jemma and Marina were moved by the fact that Jamie Theakston's listeners at Heart FM cared enough to make him see a doctor when they noticed his voice had changed. As a result he received a cancer diagnosis and fortunately now has been given the all clear. His words are really worth listening to. And the BAFTA for best presenter goes to.....David Tennant for making not one, not two but three Trump jokes during his monologue at the start of the BAFTAS, though only one made the final cut on the BBC and some of the backlash on socials was intense to say the least. You'd think people would save their vitriol for the speech JD Vance made during which he insulted Europe and singled out the UK for a punch or two too. So much for that 'special relationship.' Vance claimed that over here 'free speech is in retreat' which is interesting given the US have just banned a children's book by Julianne Moore about a girl who has freckles. Marina and Jemma give a full fash chart rundown, literally to the Top of the Pops music and consider what could happen if Europe stand firm against the US. Toby or not Toby? That is the question…Welcome to episode 441 of The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Podcast! This week, Toby Tarrant sat in for Chris and whatever you would have predicted for this week, I can guarantee it wasn't this. In fact, as well as Toby's new game, 'Toby or Not Toby?', he had other important questions on his mind too: is it better to have nine or ten arms? Is it acceptable to have chips with your Chinese takeaway? Toby wasn't the only one asking questions though, as Dom ventured into Leicester Square to ask the public if liked his Vicar's dungarees (thanks Father Rachel). As well as all that, the wonderful Abbey Clancy joined Toby and Dom to tell them about her new Global podcast, Exhibit A. Toby then took this as an opportunity to play her some throwback tunes from her brief singing career…I'll let you judge whether she enjoyed it. Well. It's all good stuff. However, if you fancy some extra Toby Tarrant titbits, you can also expect…A guide on how to please a womanHeart Breakfast's Jamie Theakston's opinion on chips with a ChineseA breakdown of Intern Bella's birthday burgerEnjoy! She hosts Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and she's a judge on Britain's Got Talent. She's had an incredible career in showbiz and has juggled it all on top of being a mother to two girls. Amanda is an incredible friend and I turned to her when I created my own blended family, and she taught me how it can be the most wonderful gift.

Danny Nicholson, like many youngsters, wanted to be a vet. But having done a degree in animal biology at Birmingham University, the teaching bug began to bite. Now some 25 years later Danny is an author, Science teacher, ICT Consultant, PGCE lecturer and Computing / Interactive Whiteboard Trainer. He has delivered training courses across the UK, in Europe, and in Canada. He has also been a co-writer of many of the primary science schemes used by schools today and he has created the Reach Out CPD course for Imperial College London. He also writes about science education and regularly blogs his ideas so that everyone can share his expertise. He's happy to share these with you too! (see below) In this podcast we talk about ... Why sharing your ideas, especially the best ones, can help everyone can benefit from your expertise. Teaching can sometimes be seen as a back-up career plan but as soon as you find out more about what it entails and get in the classroom that idea quickly goes out of the window, especially when you also like the sound of your own voice! What an incredibly varied job teaching is. It is a job that is never boring as there are so many challenges. How secondary science teaching can pose quite a few problems, especially when the students are much taller than you! What do you do when a student comes in drunk? Get him off to hospital as soon as possible is the best answer. Why going down Brighton sewers with a group of students was so interesting, especially when coming up in the middle of the high street. How difficult it is for schools keep up with changes in IT - laptops, computer suites, iPads, apps, websites - phew it's complex. The excitement of being an internet pioneer in schools. Danny organised a website project with his students when the internet was in its infancy and won a competition.  At the awards night, Danny got to meet TV star Jamie Theakston which was really cool. How having a real audience for children's work can be very motivating and truly valuable because children then have a purpose for their work. The importance of being enthusiastic when teaching science; better still be very enthusiastic. And if you don't feel 100% you've got to blag it so children think you are loving every minute. Why you should never be worried about not knowing an answer to a child's science question, because in science there is loads of stuff we don't know, so enjoy finding out as much as you can together. Getting children talking is so important as they can share their ideas and develop their thinking about new and novel ideas. The importance of this cannot be overestimated.  The reason myth busting is such an important thing to do as a science teacher. There is so much false information that is in the public domain through social media, that we must help children to be skilled at seeing through untruths by analysing evidence. Asking children why they think something, then asking them to prove it is a great way to bust myths. Science lessons are a great way to provide opportunities for application of learning from other curriculum areas. A cross-curricular approach can be really powerful for this, even when Ofsted come calling. Why watching other teachers is an essential way of developing your own practice. You can connect with Danny on ... Twitter @dannynic (http://www.twitter.com/dannynic) And you can find many of Danny's ideas here ... Zoe grew up in Buckinghamshire with her father – TV presenter Johnny Ball – and her stepmother. After working behind the scenes in TV as a runner and researcher, she first moved into the spotlight hosting children's programmes, including the very successful BBC Saturday morning show Live & Kicking, with Jamie Theakston. In the late 1990s, coinciding with her move to the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, she found herself described in the press as a 'ladette', enjoying the partying culture of the time. Further headlines followed her marriage to superstar DJ Norman Cook - Fatboy Slim - in 1999. She decided to leave Radio 1 in 2000, and her first child, Woody, was born later that year. She and Norman announced their separation in 2016. Zoe was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, and has presented Strictly: It Takes Two since 2011. In 2018, she cycled 350 miles from Blackpool to Brighton as part of Sport Relief, and to raise awareness of mental health, after her partner Billy Yates took his own life. Baby Spice Emma Bunton may not have released much music but she was busy having babies, designing childrens clothing, nappy and products as well as hosting popular reality programmes in the UK and US. All whilst maintaining a steady radio presenting career on Heart FM.   It’s an exciting start to this era for Baby – because she has a baby. Her first, Beau, born in 2007.   2009 – Emma starts her stint on Heart FM. She covers a couple of shifts and is rewarded with her on Saturday drive time slot. She pre-records because Baby has better places to be than a stuffy studio on a Saturday evening.   2010 – She joins the judging panel of Dancing On Ice. She did 2 series. It was a little controversial at the time. People wondered, with no ice skating background, what she could possibly provide as a judge. But she was praised for locking horns with chief judge Jason Gardiner and not being afraid to make unpopular comments. She said it helped her shed her Baby Spice tag…. Because she became Sassy Spice. Here are some of her best put downs: She sure has. On the third show she told GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones: "I literally couldn't breathe through the whole dance and when you lifted her I felt physically sick, I was so nervous for you both. "I just didn't enjoy it and I'm glad you were smiling because I wasn't." The next week she said of Emily Atack's performance: "I just thought it looked messy, unsteady. I felt like you were being dragged around. You are improving but very little." Then, in show seven, she told Sharron Davies: "It's a little bit like déjà vu for me, with a different outfit each week." 2011 – Baby Tate. To celebrate she launched her own baby range with reputable fashion retailer, Argos. Much bigger than the capsule Geri knocked out with Next….. this was a 99 piece collection. Her eldest Beau was modelling the collection – following in his Mamas footsteps, because one of her first jobs was a child model in the argos catalogue. I bet she was a proper cherubic little model. All blonde ringlets and chubby cheeks. 2011 – She really commits to Heart FM. Covers maternity leave for Harriet Scott on Breakfast, hosting alongside her old sparring partner – Jamie Theakston. Breakfast is a big shift. It’s a high profile position, a lot of responsibility and hardwork. Its all early mornings and beaming smiles. But Baby does a good job; she ends up taking over the spot permanently and doing it for 5 years. Until 2018. 2012 – She did the previously mentioned Mel C duet, I know him so well….. Which I think is just lovely of them to work together. The video is beautiful, if a little boring, of them just hugging. Interview quotes they described the song as “having the spirit of spice”. 2013  was a big year for Emma Bunton – not only did she win Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mother of the Year award she had a new tv show. “Your face sounds familiar” – it’s a bit Stars in their eyes. 6 celebrities portray famous singers, chosen at random, to win £10,000 for their chosen charity. They’re trained by Yvie Burnett – who is the second best vocal coach in the world. After Carrie from Fame Academy. Its all very Saturday night cringe – filing the spots between X Factor and Ant&Dec. 2014 - Jade Jones appears on “Big Reunion”. Baby named as ‘Lead Singer’ of the group. Link for the image: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S4opaSrTHI 2017 – She appeared on the judging panel of new American reality show, BoyBand, which sought to find the new big BoyBand. She appeared alongside Nick Carter, Timbaland. Hosted by Rita Ora.             Best bit was towards the end they did a judges medley, with the contestants. Emma completes a flawless rendition of Say You’ll Be There. Of course she does. If only Rita were so lucky. She tries to join Timbaland for “Way I Are” and it is car crash.             They create the band “In Real Life”….. who have released 6 singles since in the past 18 months. One charting. It’s a start.  2018 – She becomes the host of American version of Great British Bake Off. Guardian had a great tagline: Contesants will have to dust it, make it, proof it, bake it – show her how good they are   We find her back recording, Studio Spice. More than a decade after her previous effort. Signed a deal with BMG records – who tend to focus on publishing rights and legacy artists. She is a songwriter with a legacy…. What a home.   Does mean her time is short. She has to say goodbye to Heart Breakfast. 5 year stint, successfully so. Award winning stint. Including “Radio presenter of the year” and “digital radio programme” at the TRIC awards. But they do give her a Sunday night slot (bet that is a pre-record). She knows how to keep a foot in the door (must be easy to work with if they keep you on that long).   Which makes room for her to finally get married! After 8 years of being engaged.

Jono Coleman rose from ad script-writing to local radio programmes - and then national TV before graduating through the Australian radio ranks.  On his return to London, the disruptive BBC GLR beckoned before joining the ranks of Virgin 1215 at launch, where his mischievous tenure on the Russ ‘n’ Jono breakfast show is well-remembered. In this hour of #radiomoments ‘Conversations’, Jono tells of being replaced by Chris Evans at Virgin – and then by Jamie Theakston at Heart – before returning to the BBC’s local London station. He opens up about the circumstances of his return to Australia – and his radio and TV since. In his own words, this is the Jono Coleman story. Emma Bunton began working with Heart in 2009 - as a guest co-host for Jamie and then as maternity cover for Harriet Scott. She assumed the role 'full-time' in 2013. Enjoy here some clips from her final show with Jamie Theakston on Friday 14th December 2018. Heart proves yet again you can be polished, showbiz - and yet still authentic. This coupling was great casting - and the final show a touching end.
